i just was looking at my packaging and order form. according to my order form, and shipping doc's, i have a g935f. but when i am inside my settings tab, and go to about device, the model number is g935S. i realize that the ending letter is about what region it is from. mine came from hong kong, because i wanted a pearl white edge, and they don't sell them in america. but since the "s" and the "f" have the same chip in them, i am hoping that they can use the same software. everything that i have read says that they are the same, but i need to know for sure before rooting. so can anyone who knows for sure, confirm if this is right? thanks in advance.

Yes, everything's correct. Do not worry about the f and s, you just chose a different colour than the colour that's mostly made in America.
so no developers weighing in on the whole "s" and "f" question. they have the same internals. and while i understand that normally many diff variants will not work on some sw, i have also seen many, many times on here where dev's list several variants which DO work on their sw. so it'd be nice to get an answer from a dev on this.

Hi guys,
I'm planing on getting a nexus7 tomorrow and just before buying I noticed that the tablet is listed as NEXUS7-1B090A. It is also listed as a brown nexus7.
The weird part is that I couldn't find any details about that model, and almost all of the results in Google returned Israeli sites (I'm from Israel)
Is it possible that Israel got this specific model? Anyone else ran into a similar issue?
Thanks for the help!
It's black. For some reason, some resellers list it as brown. Which is sort-of understandable, albeit confusing, since some of our documents here list it as "brown" also.

Thanks for your reply. I don't really care about the color..I just want to make sure that this model is legit.

What do you think?
mine is brown with brown back cover... bought in USA last August..
That is strange. I've never seen a brown one before...I've seen white, but never brown..
i have just ordered a note3 but when i watched the videos of the phone booting up it says SM-N9000Q. I checked the sammobile but there is no firmware or no model like that. Is this only for Turkey like Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 N8005?
In the other hand is this a bad or good thing to have N9000Q?
Does anyone know something about this model? what is the differences from N900?
Thanks,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=46218461#post46218461
only thing that i really want to know is shall i cancel my order and order a SM-N9000?
it depends... first of all what do you expect? n9000q has a sticker on the box stating it is aimed to use in several European countries but as far as we read it seems like they sell it only at Turkey. so probably this means we will get updates later then other models and probably they will stop updating device while others got their updates. we have n8005 and n7000 as an example (n8005 fits this situation more and i don't have n7100 so don't know what is going on about it).
i wish samsung will correct this in note 3 but this is just a wish and if they don't.... for most this will not be a problem because they will never know if there is an update that their model haven't received and for some it again will not be a problem because they will root and install custom roms. others will have to live with it or sell the phone early then they planned to.
Hello all,
I just bought a Galaxy S5 and did some authenticity checking on it. I expected the G900F version since I live in Europe (Romania). It seems that it is the G9006V version. I chatted with a Samsung representative and he told me based on the IMEI that this is the case. I also checked out the download mode and it said the same. Antutu gave it a score of 50483 and says it has a Qualcomm 801 chipset, so at least it seems to be genuine.
I have the option of getting a refund. My question is, do I have any reason to? Are there any downsides to the Chinese version? It does have Google Play, I've read that mentioned as missing. It also came with Android 5, or so it says in the device info screen, and cannot be upgraded to a later version. Does the European version get a newer one? Will mine be able to get updates too?
P.S. The About Device Screen / Model Number displays "SM-G900F" and under Build Number there is a section called "United Arab Emirates". When I went into an info screen in the S Health app I got a screen of text in Arabic... This is weird, does it have any bearing on the software on my phone and the possibility to upgrade it in the future?
Where did you buy it? Unfortunatly this appears to be another case of a falsely labeled G900F

I ordered it from evomag.ro, a fairly reputable local webshop. I'm not aware of the story with the falsely labeled phones, could you please fill me in? Especially regarding how it affects me as a user?
hi guys, a bit of an unusual question on a software forum, but, can anyone recommend any mail-in repair shop that will fix the screen of a Samsung Note III N-9002 (i.e., the dual-SIM version)?
i bought via import in Europe, screen is now broken and would like to mail-in to get this fixed. so far I have found one, based in the US, but would be grateful for any recommendations, whether in Europe, Asia or US....
many thanks in advance for any tips.

I read here last week or two saying all versions of note 3 have the same screen. Hence it should be able to be fixed any where. Or am I missing you point?.

thanks for the response. i thought so too, but the Samsung repair guys in Slovakia claimed they ordered a spare part LCD screen from Samsung and then told me that despite best efforts they were unable to install it as it is not the same part as for the single-SIM version.
i think the thread you are referring to is this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2780299 but it just says that a LCD between 'normal' (single SIM) versions of a Note 3 for T-Mobile and Sprint is the same.
on the other hand, i found for example this: http://www.cellphonerepairshop.com/n9000lcddigitizerblackr/ - the part description it says it fits both a N9000 (which is what I understand to be the 'standard' version) and the N9002. so, i am confused - would have expected the official Samsung guys to be the authority on what fits and what doesn't....
purely from a common sense perspective, I would have expected the part to be the same, but maybe there's the issue of a second antenna or something somehow being included in the assembly, no clue.

Right. That's the 1. If that's the case, really fussy.

I did post this question at the end of another thread, as it looks like my trusty old Note 3 is definitely deceased now, but it would probably be better in its own thread.
I want to get an S10+ and quite like the idea of the ceramic black back cover (the 'pearlescent gloss' look of the regular black - actually, closer to greyish - version seems a bit tacky and could pick up marks easily) but I don't think the 128GB version comes in that finish in the UK?
I've found a Spanish site that is offering 128GB Ceramic Black (https://www.costomovil.es/moviles-y...samsung-galaxy-s10+-128gb-ceramic-black-libre) but I'm not sure of the variant that they would be selling - they state it's an SM-G975FZKDPHE. I'm assuming that any official European release version (I would be buying SIM-free unlocked) would be the same base hardware, and have the same range of cell-frequencies, so it ought to work just as well here in the UK as it would anywhere else in Europe. I could probably even install official BTU firmware via Odin anyway if I wanted to (I think some banking security features are regional, presumably based on the ROM?).
However if I buy now from Spain, and the UK does leave the EU soon (at the moment, who knows!) do you think Samsung will still honour their originally offered 2-year purchase warranty here in the UK (as they do now) based on the market conditions at the purchase date? If not, it seems the same sort of gamble as buying a grey import from Hong Kong/etc.

Isn't this simply a mistake on their website? My understanding is the ceramic s10 plus model comes in just two varients, 8gb ram/ 512gb storage or 12gb ram/1tb storage.

That's what I was wondering, but Samsung are releasing so many odd variants around the different markets at the moment it's hard to say (I think there's a blue-back version coming to one of the UK carriers for example).

Only one way to find out then....

That's what worries me... Not much I can do about it if it's wrong and it's come from overseas.
Andre
I ment get in contact with them, drop them an email?
I'm backing it's a mistake, the ceramic backs belonging to the two s10 plus premium models.

The site has made a mistake with the listing.
SM-G975FZKDPHE is the product code for the 128GB Prism Black standard model.
The Ceramic black one has a different product code:
SM-G975FCKGPHE (512 GB)
SM-G975FCKHPHE (1 TB)
You can flash the BTU ROM, insert a UK SIM card and do a factory reset. The phone will fully convert itself and will act as if it was bought in the UK.
You'll get all UK carrier and region specific features like VoLTE, WiFi Calling (both carrier dependent), Samsung Pay and so on.
Cell frequencies are the same across all Europe and Middle East since they all use the same variant (SM-G975F).
No clue about warranty though.
Actually, I think I may have found an even better fit for me - the upcoming Samsung A70 due out in a few weeks. https://news.samsung.com/uk/capture-connect-and-conquer-with-the-new-samsung-galaxy-a70
The A70 will still be a 128GB device, with an even bigger AMOLED screen than the S10+ (including embedded fingerprint sensor), bigger battery, SD Card, 3.5mm headphone jack... and no annoying curved display, a proper flat screen! OK, so it's 6GB RAM instead of 8GB, and I suspect the triple-camera won't be quite as good as the S10+, but then at less than 1/2 the price there are bound to be a few compromises (but hey, coming from a Note 3, it's still going to be a spectacularly better camera than the one I've been using).
