im running 6.01 and my Android System is draining 28%. This is very alarming.
With that amount of information it's pretty much impossible for anyone to help you. Have you used an app like BetterBatteryStats to investigate whether you're having wakelocks?

I haven't seen any other posts about this so i'm hoping I'm not the only one. My Nexus 7 is rooted but is not running any custom roms. Whats happening is that I put the tablet down at like 95% battery remaining and when I pick it up the next day it will be at about 30%. When I look at the battery usage "Android OS" is the number consumer with something like 70% of use.
I found a post stating that turning off Wifi Optimization would fix this but it hasn't seem to help me. Anyone know what I can look at to see whats causing the battery drain? Having to charge it daily kind of sucks when I only use it for maybe 15 minutes or so a day.
I think a wakelock causing it. Try this app to find it: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.uzumapps.wakelockdetector
(Read THIS to understand it)

i'm experiencing Android System excessive os battery drain on my GT-I9500 under Omega v14.1, it's eating up all my juice from two days ago, even my display isn't over 10%, Android System is taking 58% and sometimes more than that.
Please can somebody help with this serious problem ?
PS: my phone is new, and my battery isn't swollen ...
Install BetterBatteryStats which can be found here on xda, fully charge and then fully discharge your mobile using it as you normally would, then look at Kernel wakelocks to see if there are any processes draining your battery.

My Google Play is 32% and i have hardly used my phone.
I have problems with this wakelock, on a daily basis I can have easily 2 hours of this WL.
There are no sensors activated that could be causing it: no pedometer, no motion actions...
I have even frozen S-health and S-health service with no results.
Anyone experiencing this? Any clue to solve it?
No one has a clue?
It's been reported on AOSP as well (Nexus 5), from a quick Google search I did but nobody knows exactly what it is. It's not Samsung specific though. My guess would be it's some Android feature that's causing it and I doubt there's a way to get rid of it without, say, switching to iOS or Windows Phone. How much battery does it actually drain? Keeping the phone awake for 2 hours with minimum CPU usage is a whole lot different than keeping it awake for 2 hours with the CPU maxed out. Don't worry too much about wakelocks as long as the phone gets you through the day.

I don't get the same battery as others with the same phone, I suspect.
For example, today I got 1:30 of this wakelock out of 6 hours. Seems a lot to me...
I have this wakelock too. So annoying!
It's been over a year old thread, and still nobody knows what wakelock is this. I have over 50% of my battery life have this wakelock running. Anyone knows what is this?
hello i have a problem with my battery life when i sleep i left my battery to full but when i wake up i see that been 45% or 30% please help im using nexus 4 android l 5.0.1
Install better battery stats and check partial and kernel wake locks.
You need to let it run for a few hours so it can log meaningful information
Thanks u can give me name of apps or something can help me in this
There's an app called wakelock detector it'll help you and also an app called greenify.. Beautiful and excellent

I've been having some massive battery issues the past week, with a full charge going dead after only 8 or so hours of medium to low usage. I thought it was maybe the battery, so I bought a new one, but it's still doing it. GSAM shows "Android System" taking up the most battery by far (close to 28%), but I have no idea how to narrow that down to specifics. And after I updated the last OTA, I lost root, so Wakelock Detector isn't working anymore. What's the best way to figure out what's causing this? It's super annoying.
Hey again I posted in another topic of yours I would use any app I could I've used battery doctor that monitors apps. Deep sleep battery saver. Seems like your phones awake all the time. Maybe even battery monitor widget.
