It sound like you have a faulty battery if it only lasts three hours, I think you would have to be gaming to flatten a good battery in that time.
John.
Mine is the same. If I'm browsing the web, using instagram, Facebook and receiving email my battery will go from full to empt in easily 3 to 4 hours.
Backup, factory reset, reinstall apps from market (try to install only the ones you use a lot at first), restore the data you need. If you're still seeing the same things happening, install a battery logger / system logger. Use this guide to see if there's a rogue app that's causing the trouble: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=937080
If it's still acting up and you cannot identify any unusual drain, I'd ask for a replacement.
After you get things sorted, you can use apps like Juice Defender from the Market to prolong your battery life even more.

thanks guys for the sincere contribution.... i hope your advices help me...
my top battery consuming activities are:
temple run
google play
msging
go launcher
and nothing else
gaming and browsing certainly make the battery drain almost visibly..
things above and beyond the above to try include..
1. reduce screen brightness
2. reduce frequency of or disable background updates by apps
3. no vibrate notifications
4. work more, play less!..lol
the battery life of the Note is great, unless you use it .. a battery monitor will allow you to see the battery drain over time..this will help when you address item #2 above.. if you accept default refresh times, and have lots of social apps your battery can die in 6-7 hrs without even using the Note at all!..
I really love when people give the tip to not use your phone as a battery saving tip

some hints for better battery life
Got mine the other day. First charge battery was fine. Second charge went down 7% in about 5-10 mins. Then it restarted :/ Came back on, down to 88%. Turned the phone off as was frustrating me as it restarted 3 times yesterday. But when I turned it back on I was at 83%?
Hasn't last me the day, it's on charge now. When it pops up telling me to charge it tells me to shut all apps and that using while charging may effect it charging. Is this correct? I didn't think it would have anything to do with it?
3 to the 4 hours continuous use is normal... Only if your phone is standby and then depletes in that time You should be worried. I recommend researching wakelocks in that case.
There are many variables that can atribute to batterylife depletion. Eliminate those first and you will have your answer.
I had best results on stunner version 19. To bad it has the death kernel (leaked ics)

I am facing a similar issue, facing a massive wakelock by PowerManagerService. It keeps the phone awake all the time?
Any suggestions?

Usually that wakelock is there cause you are charging, or have USB plugged in

Had the note for 2 days. It came with LA4 FW and updated via Samsung Apps for the latest FW.
Battery drain, that was none on LA4 became very strong!
Installed Better Battery Stats and discovered that the CPU was always running.
Factory reset solved it...

Hi all.
Just a quick question. My battery life is great but i feel like it could be much better. Here are my current stats as i write this.
With this its saying i will get under 4 hours screen on time, i wouldnt say i was a heavy user. I use my phone quite a bit but i wouldnt say it was alot.My biggest problem is with the android system anyone else have it as such a big drain? Somedays its sat up at 40%
Anyone know what i can do to rectify this? Im currently not rooted..
Thanks in advance
Liam
There are just two possibilities.
LG stock rom is so bloated that it sucks most of battery or GRAM feature is so good that screen time is not really problem anymore.
Forgot to mention, my screen time was 2hr 30 so probably looking at not even getting 4 hours screen on time.. Gonna have to guess that it's the stock rom sucking up loads of battery? Would that cause the android system percentage to be so high?
I'm having the same issue here.. Getting 4 hours screen ttime though...

install greenify. it save my battery. last longer.
I can easily reach 6 hours screen on time. And I'm a heavy user and by no means try to save battery. multiple social networks, emails syncing etc often streaming music and watch videos and brightness set to a constant 75%. This is on StockModRom. So yeah I'd say something is draining your battery unnecessarily there.
Try installing better battery stats:

If you find one, please let me know. As Android System is also eating my battery.

Strangely, for me, when I go over ~2h screen time the Android System drain is taken over by the Screen drain. This being said, I never got over 3h30m of screen time - this is with about 10h WiFi (including overnight => ~2% drain) and about 7h 3G. I have noticed plenty of crap among the kernel wakelocks, but I lack the knowledge to remove them in the source code and rebuild the kernel.
Also, BBS is among the apps that trigger a Qualcomm bug regarding sensor kernel wakelocks (sns_async_ev_wakelock), which, obviously, lead to more battery drain.
All of this is not really acceptable coming from a company like Qualcomm (the sensor bug, in particular, is present ever since the S3 QC version...).
I'll second that Greenify is pretty good at saving battery.
I too have had a screen on time of 6 hours 11 mins over a duration of being off charge for over 14 hours
I'm using StockMOD kernel but the ROM itself is stock as i can't seem to get StockMOD rom to boot.
Also if you Root try TricksterMOD and use multicore savings etc maybe get a bit more life from your battery
Hope battery life gets better for you as it is an awesome phone would be nice for you to enjoy it as much as the rest of us

Okay, so i gave up finding what it was. did a system restore and well what can i say? apart from WOW.
been on for 26 hours now with 2hr 20mins screen on time and still at 62% absolutely amazing!
still unsure whether to root and try and squeeze even more battery out of it!
Still annoyed i never found out what was causing the issue..
Wow just wow. This was my last charge, absolutley incredible.
This includes 1hr 45min of music streaming.
Streaming a 2hr 20 min film.
Twitter/facebook/emails and a tiny maybe 10 mins of web browsing.
I have with cyanogenmod 11 a very nice Akku.
99% Akku - 5 hours standby (Internet GPS.... On)
58% Akku - 4.5 houers tune in radio (everytime Internet on)
I think that's whery good

Does anybody have their phone battery going flat quicker with Android Wear installed?
My note 3 used to last all day, now i have to charge it half day.
The battery usage has android Wear as the main culprit then system. My Samsung gear live has plenty of battery left (49%) after 16hrs used.
Battery life on Nexus 5 has is lasting half the time

Yes, same problem here. Since installing wear, I'm getting half the life out of my Nexus 5 battery after installing and connecting Android Wear device (Samsung Live). I usually get more than a day's worth of time from my phone, I had burned through 75% of the battery by noon today.
Did you have google now disabled before, but enabled now? If so, try it with google now disabled.
Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
I always used Google now on my phone. The note 3 battery has been great and i have never had the need to disable or do anything. I feel that I may had to send the watch back based on that only.
Got the same problem with an CustomROM, simply annoying with the battery charge with Android Wear and my S3.
Wear had an impact on battery life but not to a point where I'd consider returning the watch.
Edit
I mean, I was able to last almost 2 full days before having the watch and now I need to charge the phone when I come home from work. I'm okay with that.

Bluetooth 4.0 le. I guess the battery on the phone is halved.
With google now turned off, I'm getting close to the previous battery life.

my cousin has same problem, battery drains faster than the usual :crying:
I'm also encountering heavy battery drain with Wear. Didn't have this issue with my Pebble, and there's nothing obvious in BetterBatteryStats or the Android battery settings. Nothing in there ever shows up as bluetooth or Wear related. I've always used Now, nothing new there.
Have this, too.
I have not noticed any difference in battery use. In the battery usage display has any activity moved up in the usage list?

Yeah. The Android Wear App takes like 50-60%, it trumps even System and Display (around 10% each).
The problem definitely is the Wear app on the phone that takes many CPU cycles.
What I tried:
- Reboot watch
- Reboot phone
- Uninstall all apps on watch
- Pairing the watch again with the phone
- Disabling Google Now
- Cleared data of the Android Wear app (which did not(!) reset the settings of that app)
EDIT: Well blimey! Talk about buggy software: Now it works again... Devices just sitting on my desk... No drain anymore...
EDIT2: And now it starts again to drain... what the actual hell?

I was experiencing some pretty serious battery drain on my nexus 5 after getting my G watch. At first I didnt really notice it and thought I was just using the phone harder at work (which i might have also been). But one night i unplugged my fully charged phone right before falling asleep and woke up 6 hours later with about 70% battery, i knew something was up.
BBS didnt really provide much insight, and the android battery info just listed Android System as #1 battery user. I got another app, Wakelock Detector, and enabled Advanced Mode in the settings so it shows system processes and discovered that BluetoothRemoteDevices had kept my phone from entering deep sleep most of the night.
Since the only bluetooth device i had paired up at that time was my G watch, I knew it was prob something related to it. I went through and uninstalled a few of the Wear apps i had been using and now i have much better battery life again. I think the culprit for me was the app Wear Unlock or possibly the one camera app I was using also. So maybe go through and try removing as many wear apps as you can and see if it gets better for you. I only have a couple watch faces, wear mini launcher, wear calculator, Calendar, and Wear Aware installed now and much less BluetoothRemoteDevices wakes and my battery life is good on both phone and watch!
Hope this helps

This seems to be another but compared to mine. Glad you have figured it out!
For my bug (high drain of Wear app on phone) I uninstalled and reinstalled the app, also I restored the watch (using the menu option). Drain gone... Fingers crossed!
EDIT:
Next day: Had my watch and phone on the desk over the night (non-charging). Everything fine. Then I started charging the phone. When it was full, I unplugged it and suddenly the Wear app was listet with top battery usage (50%). Only app on watch was the StarWatch watchface.
I have isolated the problem: The battery drain start when I leave home in the morning. Seems there is something that the Wear app does (tries, maybe fails to do). I have uninstalled the Llama app which in my case triggers some actions when I leave home. Let's see what happens.
EDIT: Not solved. Killing the Wear app temporarily stopps the battery usage. But it comes again. By the way: The Wear app seems to do some task periodically, because I get a huge battery drain spike each 5 seconds. Is there any kind of possibility to log what the app does.
Is anyone using the Wear App Store (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=goko.ws2)? I've read that this app could be the cause for poor battery performance on the phone.
For the last few weeks, Android System has been, by far, the biggest battery user of all, taking up significantly more than the screen, even with 2.5 hours of screen-on time. According to the Settings app, 'wssyncmlnps' is the biggest part of System draining battery, but GSam battery monitor says it's 'SilentLogging.' Force closing these doesn't seem to work as they simply restart. My S5 didn't always do this, how do I fix it? According to GSam, System is literally 70% of my battery usage.

Shorter, significantly. For a while I could expect 20-30 hours per charge usually. Now it's closer to 10-12.

It sounds to me like a rougue app causing the drain. There's no reason the phone itself should drop by more than half like that. If it were an issue with the phone, I am confident you would see a lot more people posting about poor battery life.

What services do you have syncing with your Google account? Many services can really kill the battery.
EDIT: under Settings > Accounts > Google Account
For the past week my phone has had an average of 7 hours of use. It's not even heavy use! I used to be able to go 13 or 14 hours before it was close to dying, now it gets near to 7 hours before I have to plug in. I got a new battery and put it in, but I'm getting the same results. I know you can't really tell much from battery logs and screen shots, but I've attached those in case. I lost root with the last OTA, so I can't use the Wakelock Detector. I have no idea what's causing it besides "Android System". Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I understand your frustration and would like to help. First do you use your screen brightness. Do you keep sync on constantly or have a app like juice defender that will do it for you? Have you checked all of your apps to see if any act strange? I know this is a lot if ?s but I don't have your phone. We can do this. You said your not rooted did you Odin the stock firmware before taking the ota? You have a new battery is it samsungs? Or is it a different brand? Have you calibrated the battery or deleted the battery bin file? Have you factory reset at all in a long time? Do you do the battery saving tips like dim screen power save mode to get extra juice? When you get up your phone is 100% and in 7 hours of use needs recharging. Is that with moderate use or heavy use gaming or do you get a but load of twitter notifications ect. I saw on the photo twitter notifications constantly getting those can do a number I keep sync off. I don't know if there are any known bugs in 4.4.4. I had to root do to 4.4.2 for 4.3 because of poor battery life I was in the same boat.
