Hello all,
I have bought Samsung Galaxy S2 recently. It's a great phone. But I am having some doubts. Hope u can solve them.
1). Whenever I open camera application, every time I have to set Outdoor visibility n Auto Contrast option to On. Is there any way to keep these setting at what I set rather than every time I have to change setting?
2). When I on bluetooth, I have to go to bluetooth setting to eneble bluetooth visibility to other device, to enable my device to be searched by other device.
Isn't there any way that when I open bluetooth, by default visibility also set to on.
3). Is there any code for Audio gain just like Samsung Omnia 2 winmo.
As I am coming from WinMo (Samsung Omnia 2) n this is my first Android, so asking these silly doubts. I havent faced such problems in my Omnia 2.
Thanks in Advance.
1 & 2- That's the way it is I think.
3- You could try Volume + app posted in this forum. It will do you well in Multimedia volumes. To increase In call volume, you could try *#197328640#, but it will get reset after every restart.
Regards.
Regarding the codes for volume gain, you can try the guide of this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=741012. It's for the SGS1 but also works for the SGS2. Nevertheless, although it worked for me effectively solving the low volume problem I was experiencing in phone calls using the headset, many users have reported that this doesn't work for them. Equally, there is other codes, which can be found in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1069015 and which you may try, but again, many users have reported that they work only until you reboot your device.
Regarding the bluetooth, you certainly will have a huge battery drain if you leave it turned on all the time, so I don't think that it would be a good idea doing this. Although it is possible to keep it on all the time, it seems that it's not possible to make it visible for more than 120 seconds.
I'm not sure the camera settings, sorry but I can't help you with this right now. The only thing that I can say is that it seems that my camera app keep some of the last used settings, such as the focus mode, but other settings such as white balance, it go back to default always that you close it.
I hope that at least you solve the volume issue as I did, because many people didn't.
Thanks to both of u for reply. Will try ur suggestions n post back the results.
Hi evryone
been using an RC Elite s5 port rom for a week now on my note 3 and love it
only problem is related to s voice, with note 3 rom i could wake up the phone with screen off and even bypass lockscreen security (on s5 s voice the bypass lockscreen option is not present)
for some reasons active listening isnt working on none of the s5 roms i tried on note 3 so i cant wake up the device with screen off using the voice wake up command and it is a downer coz i got bluetooth in the car and use s voice to perform hands free operation
i tried copying note 3 svoice to system apps and set permissions, s voice did work but still couldn't wake up the device with screen off and on top of that even with note 3 s voice the option to bypass lockscreen wasnt there
i got a canadian note 3 n900w8
please help
Pretty sure it's because of the updated S voice app. Im on note 3 rom, and I am able to active always listening. I have tried the s5 s voice and it didn't work. What u can try is to downgrade S voice and get passive listening back, although idk if s5 rom will break the driver required for this functionality.
thanks for the help
did tried already with the note 3 s voice app but didnt work.
and even with note 3 s voice i still had the s5 s voice paremeters. is the voice app and the voice parameters app two differents apk's ?
I recently bought the 6p after coming from a Galaxy Note 3. I honestly upgraded to the 6p because I wanted to use Android pay so I have no interest in rooting the device.
Here are the main issues I am having with the 6p so far, I am curious to see if anyone else has these problems and if they found a fix or app that will fix the issues.
1. In call volume is extremely low compared to my Note 3 and there are times when I struggle to make out what the other party is saying. Speaker phone volume is great. I know I can root to fix this problem but I don't want to do that. Is there an app that will boost call volume?
2. I am also having a problem setting ring tones and notification tones. I can set them and they seem to work for a short time and then they basically change on their own. This is strange to me as I have never had this happen with a smart phone. I have done a factory reset but it didnt help.
Not intended to be a general Android vs. iOS debate! Just my experiences (and a couple questions) coming from a 6s to the S7. Before the 6s I had several Android phones, did dozens of ROMs and hundreds of flashes, so I know both platforms very well.
Galaxy S7 Pros:
- Screen is fantastic. About the perfect size for me as well.
- Very fast and fluid. I had a Galaxy S6 last year and it wasn't nearly this fast.
- Always-on screen is cool, though limited.
- Google Now blows away Siri
- Good fingerprint support.
- Great camera.
- Finally back to good third-party keyboards with Android. iOS supports them now but doesn't allow voice recognition other than in stock keyboard. Lame.
Galaxy S7 Cons:
- Battery has so far been unimpressive. I'll give it a few more days.
- No Voice Command over Bluetooth in my new car (2016 Accord EX-L V6). This is close to a deal breaker for me. The iPhone has great Bluetooth support with full voice command of Siri using the Voice button on the steering wheel.
- Also over Bluetooth, can't see the list of tracks in the current playlist, scroll through playlists, etc. iPhone has this.
- No always-on "OK Google" from screen-off. This would help a lot with the above car Voice issue if I could just say "OK Google" and have it wake up. iPhone and other Android phones have this and I'm surprised Samsung didn't also go with that. Big negative.
Really want to like and keep the S7, but the lack of good voice support in the car is a big deal for me. Anyone know of a way to either get always-on "OK Google" or steering wheel controls to support it like they do in iOS? Yes, I can use Android Auto, but I often just want to jump in the car and go rather than plug in.

For the "Ok Google" Open the Google App, hit the 3 lines top left corner and select settings
There is a setting for active on any screen (but that is only when the screen is on/charging)
Also in the settings there is a hands free option, make sure you have bluetooth turned on for OK Google
Also, have you downloaded Android Auto and connected the phone via USB? I think that is the preferred method

Thanks. Yes, done all of that and I should have mentioned Android Auto. It's not bad and does most of the stuff I want. It just requires plugging in the phone over USB versus doing everything hands/cable free. Not a huge deal, but I drive a lot and it's great with the iPhone to never have the thing out of my pocket. Today while driving to lunch I had the S7 in my pocket and just hit the button there, said OK Google and it generally worked. through my jeans I guess that's one way to work around.

Yeah definitely give the battery a few more cycles
make sure u turn off all the extra crapp running the back ground, the battery life for me is double of the iphone 6 but i have gps turned off at all times. also QC2.0 should be the deal breaker. it nice plugging in for a few minutes and getting a couple hours
I would add some cons:
- can't send/recieve MMS without cellurar data connection (using my S7 in polish network Play). It's very annoying especially when connected to home WiFi network. To send/recieve MMS You must: disable WiFi, enable cellular data, send/recieve MMS, disable cellular data, enable WiFi... flagship phone ffs...
- ultra weak vibration (even when strongest mode set in options)
- can't hide unnecessary apps, for example: full version of Poweramp has unlocker as separate application. In my HTC M8 I can just hide unlocker app. In S7 this is impossible.
Im considering to sell this phone.
I'm also having some heating/throttling issues. Just web-surfing for 30 minutes causes heat towards the top of the phone and the CPUs clearly throttle, making Chrome lag like crazy. I rebooted and let it cool down and it got fast again, but after a while it heated/throttled again.
Not impressive. I'm 50/50 on keeping it. Shouldn't have to deal with this kind of thing.

Nope, compared to HTC M8 it's very weak, of course all sliders in vibration menu are set to max. Yesterday checked 2 models in two different stores (Euro and Media Markt) and they also had very weak vibration.

Weird....I've found it to be pretty impressive vibration. Had to turn it down for my alarm in the morning, as it was vibrating itself off the stand I had it on.
Of course, it could be that I don't really rely on vibrate all that much...I actually have it almost off for calling...just use it in the morning on my alarm, as sometimes the sounds just aren't enough.

Not impossible at all. Use a different launcher.
and I'm with the others. The vibration is pretty strong.

You don't even have to switch launchers. If you launch the unlocker it will say "thanks for buying" and give you the option to hide the unlocker from your launcher.

Why are you disabling your data connection when connected to WiFi? You're just making your life more complicated. Leave data on while on WiFi and the phone will automatically switch to data when it can't do something over WiFi (your texts).
My vibration is strong like others have mentioned.
PowerAmp unlocker hides itself once you launch it 1 time.
love it
Too much vodka there in polland i guess? He doesn't feel the vibration anymore  (no pun intended)
I really love the s7 even the battery life, but then I must say that I came from a Huawei Ascend P7 so it's quite the improvement. Amazing camera and everytime I unlock my screen I fall in love with the colors :good::good:
Hello
It seems that there is an Audio Playback Problem with the S8 Plus European Version
Sporadicly WhatsApp - Mail Notifications are disrupted - Sometimes audio stops right by the beginn of the notification Sound - sometimes it stops in the middle
No matter what sound is selected
Sometimes the problem occurs 2 or 3 times in a row - the next notification plays back perfect
Can you confirm similar problems?
Forgotten to write - European Exynos S8 Plus Version
The device is an European Exynos Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus
mine always does it on twitter notifications but everything else seems fine
same issue on my s6 edge after the v7 update.
So it seems that samsung is in trouble with Nougat - and not only audio ......Vibration also is incomplete - i´ve selected sound and 3 times Vibration .....Vibration also incomplete when audio stops - Even WhatsApp calls - Audio
for WhatsAp Calls stops - thanks god Phone Calls are working (hopefully) - so waiting for a fast fix or workaround !
Hopefully someone will inform samsung about this annoying bug!

I have the same bug on a nexus 6 running 7.1.1 pure nexus . Notification audio sometimes is normal , sometimes is cut, and sometimes is not reproduced at all . When not reproduced even vibration is not present . Another annoying bug is that the keyboard is not opened when I unlock the phone to enter in a WhatsApp notification. Those bugs only happens on WhatsApp . I have this problem from around 2 months, never noticed before
