Some doubts of Galaxy S2 - Galaxy S II General

Hello all,
I have bought Samsung Galaxy S2 recently. It's a great phone. But I am having some doubts. Hope u can solve them.
1). Whenever I open camera application, every time I have to set Outdoor visibility n Auto Contrast option to On. Is there any way to keep these setting at what I set rather than every time I have to change setting?
2). When I on bluetooth, I have to go to bluetooth setting to eneble bluetooth visibility to other device, to enable my device to be searched by other device.
Isn't there any way that when I open bluetooth, by default visibility also set to on.
3). Is there any code for Audio gain just like Samsung Omnia 2 winmo.
As I am coming from WinMo (Samsung Omnia 2) n this is my first Android, so asking these silly doubts. I havent faced such problems in my Omnia 2.
Thanks in Advance.

1 & 2- That's the way it is I think.
3- You could try Volume + app posted in this forum. It will do you well in Multimedia volumes. To increase In call volume, you could try *#197328640#, but it will get reset after every restart.
Regards.

Regarding the codes for volume gain, you can try the guide of this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=741012. It's for the SGS1 but also works for the SGS2. Nevertheless, although it worked for me effectively solving the low volume problem I was experiencing in phone calls using the headset, many users have reported that this doesn't work for them. Equally, there is other codes, which can be found in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1069015 and which you may try, but again, many users have reported that they work only until you reboot your device.
Regarding the bluetooth, you certainly will have a huge battery drain if you leave it turned on all the time, so I don't think that it would be a good idea doing this. Although it is possible to keep it on all the time, it seems that it's not possible to make it visible for more than 120 seconds.
I'm not sure the camera settings, sorry but I can't help you with this right now. The only thing that I can say is that it seems that my camera app keep some of the last used settings, such as the focus mode, but other settings such as white balance, it go back to default always that you close it.
I hope that at least you solve the volume issue as I did, because many people didn't.

Thanks to both of u for reply. Will try ur suggestions n post back the results.

AT&T A.30.07 ROM and Volume on phone

So, I'm experiencing what everybody else is with this ROM. That initial volume level starts out soft and gradually increases to the max that I have it set to. Some have stated they like this and that's fine. But, I HATE it  . I can never hear my phone ring anymore if it's in my pocket. Has anybody found a possible registry key or setting somewhere to turn this off?
And if any AT&T folks are listening.. I'd like a setting in the volume area to turn this off or on.
Phone Profile
Have you check under phone profiles... Ascending Ring change to Standard Ring
Dustoff
I don't have a phone profile, or i should say i don't see any where for that option. In the phone settings area the Ring Type is set for Ring. There is an option for "Increasing Ring" but that's even worse than it is already. I don't think this is what I'm looking for.
Since the WM2003 upgrade on my SX56, 've noticed issues with the speakerphone volume. I can barely hear it in fact. Any thoughts on this one?
Fiddled around with the volume setting, moved it up and down, and the now the volume issue seems resolved. Can't say for sure if that's what resolved it, but it's fine now.
I'm experiencing the same problem with the AT&T rom.. I'm going to take a look around in the registry later on... before I go installing any apps
Well I have taken a look @ the processes running and can't see anything obvious that would be doing the volume thing..
So I have had a poke about in the registry and have found a section with sound profiles and it has an attenuation property, I have tried adjusting this, and deleting it but still no good
Also there is an entry in the registry called Hack and mentioned Vol in the string... but it didn't make any difference when I deleted that either
If anyone thats a bit more acomplished than myself with the PPC Phone could take a look and find a solution to this, i'm sure many users would appreciated it
Has anyone figured out how to make the volume level constant yet?
Any solutions to get the volume working well on A.30.09 ENG yet?
Nope. I just put my phone volume on next to the top setting and the system volume two levels below it. Works fine then. As long as the system volume is two levels below it will not graduate the sound.

I made contacts with att's support ,I told them about this problem thus I'm not the only one who's experiencing this, lots of ppl sees this ennoying , I hope they would help here...

i can't turn off a camera sound shutter

hi, there.. it is normally to have an option to turned the shutter sounds off in Daimond, but my Daimond there are no options available in advanced setting to turn off the sound, this is possible that my is the original Telstra's ROM ?
after i do a research in this website it seems to me that i couldn't find the solution to myself.. therefore it would be greatful for you guys to suggest me a solution to improve my little computerize skill, ThX
PS. I'm new so i do apologize if i interrupting you with a silly question ,
put the phone one silent or vibrate and it won't make anymore that camera sound
Shutter sound...
Have you checked all the settings in advanced? This may seem a silly question, but there are 5 pages of settings in the stock ROM's. On my device...
Advanced Settings, Page 2/5, 3rd option from the top. I've never had a phone yet (with a camera), where the shutter sound can't be turned off. May be your device is unique in that respect! If so, follow darko07's advice above
it is still a sound occur to me, although the device has turned off all sounds..
and more joke to me there are just only 4 pages in Advanced Settings.. that's why i couldn't find that action..
do you think it is about the Tweak things that might be deleted that ?
bumping the issue..
I have the same problem - cannot turn off the sound of the shutter. have tried looking at advanced settings, having the phone on silent, etc etc... still not solution.
any ideas out there? thanks
Actually I'm pretty sure canadian law doesnt allow phone's camera shutter to be turned off because of a few perverts. I heard of the law passing about a year ago, you might want to ask telstra about this.
Aye, we're thinking of a law over here in the UK but it's certainly been around for a while in some places.

Device wont go to sleep during music playback

Hi,
I´ve been having this problem for about 2 days. While mp3 playback, device wont go to sleep when I press power button. I have to pause/stop playback to do so. I dont know why. I havent installed anything before this. I´m using standard player provided by HTC.
This may not sound like a serious problem, but it kills battery real fast while its on. Is anyone having the same problem? Thanks for any answer.
is this without the headphones?
try this its a great lil programe allows soft reset also has a secondary feature called display switch, witch basically turns the screen off but not the phone. i always have this installed on every device ive ever owned.
Ditto - same issue. Its a bug.
The problem occurs when the device is in headset mode - see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=482027
No solution available AFAIK. Report it to HTC and the more of us that do it might get a hot fix! Cheers

Fix for low microphone volume

So, it seems I have finally found out how to adjust the microphone volume on the phone.
I have posted the instructions on my blog. If you try the solution it please respond if it works or not.
This might be veey interesting. I changed 88 to 100 but will only be able to talk to someone tomorrow.
From personal experience both sgs ans sgs2 have low treble input sent to peer. Ots annoying.
Posted from Galaxy S II
tried, we will see...
Interesting, there's an option for speaker receive volume too...
I tried it but it didn't work on audio recording (Hi-Q MP3 Recorder).
There is some way to adjust mic volume of voice recording?, My old SGS recordings were a lot louder than on my new SGSII.
Great thank you so much for the post. It helped me out.

MY SGS2 DOES NOT HAVE THIS VOLUME ISSUE! PEOPLE HEAR ME VERY WELL, SOMETIMES THEY ACTUALLY LOWER THE VOLUME IT IS SO LOUD!!!
Seriously, how much better does it get? I am not in a noise free environment at the moment, how big of a gain does this produce? Does this fix work with the genuine wired headphones?
i thought this fix was temporary only, after a phone reboot the fix resets to default ?

I must admit...in all the smartphone that i have ever used.....This is the only phone that i have never rebooted except when flashing roms/kernels etc...
I never reboot! I did today, because I wanted to calibrate the battery for the first time and I let it die. So I let it die after 24 hours of use, and then when it turned on it rebooted
I love my phone

It works but sadly as others have already mentioned, after a reboot, you have to re enter the settings, which is the only draw back, and am one of those who reboots the phone on a daily. Is there any way of making this permanent even following a reboot?. I can imagine its probably difficult, but thought I'd ask anywhere. Thanks op.
I'm actually looking for a way to lower the input gain, as my voice comes out distorted on the other side. Any clues? Besides the obvious "Turn 88 into something lower, I tried 70 and didn't work"
I don't know how the values can be saved so that they survive a restart. Personally I only restart my phone when it runs out of battery, or if I've done flashing that requries a reboot. If I need to disconnect from the real world airplane mode is used.
So, has anyone had any luck using this method? Seems to work for me.

That's quite the opposite problem Other than what you tried I have no idea. Sounds like a faulty device?

Actually, I tried 20 yesterday, and it did solve my problem!
Now sound is crisp and undistorted!
The question is,
1. How to make it stick reboot.
2. What do the rest of the volumes do? Vol0_1 0_2 0_3 etc, you suggested to edit number 5. Why specifically that one?
1. Still a mystery
2. My guess is that there are certain levels of output, and that all of them should be adjusted according to the other to have a linear line. The fact that I wrote that only 5 should be edited was simply because that worked for me.
First, great thanks hpe !!
I got my phone 2 days ago and got same problem.
ppl could not hear me well.
I tried your solution, hope it will help (tried 1-2 calls and seems ok).
I have noticed also that when you talk you should be
stable with your hand and your face , I mean,
it should be with fix distance between the mouth and phone, not important the distance but it should be stable during the call, if not the AGC comes up and down and the other side can't hear you well...
About save setting,
Maybe there is ini file or something (rooted phone) that can be changed to keep value after reboot, I have noticed in the 2 days I have the phone that I had to reboot phone after install application to get it works well.
I've follow the hpe solution but i still have volume problem
My specific problem is:
On Normal Mic call > very low volume... on my SGS2 with android 2.3.3
But with Speaker call > clear (no problem)
Very strange!! I can't be able to solve this problem.
I'd like to precise that with other voip app like bria or "csip simple" i have no problem, mic volume is perfect..

Speaker call uses different mic settings (since you've a higher distance between your mouth and the mic while using speaker), so it might just the "normal mic call" volume setting which fails.
I have understand and many thanks for your reply but it's strange that those settings works perfectly with the other voip applications..

Skype issues

Hi all,
I have installed the 'hacked' version of Skype which allows video calling on the SGSII. However the problems also apply to the official one on the market. The problems I am having are namely:
1) In call volume is too low - I can barely hear the person on the other end of the line. I am apparently fine. When I switch to video mode, I can barely hear them on the external speaker. I have set the call volume to max which improved things a touch (via the main SGSII settings). Is there any way round this?
2) Proximity sensor does not appear to work. This is generally ok as the screen timeout eventually kicks in, however when I then need to go back into the app I have to get past the lockscreen. Is there any way to get the proximity sensor to work and thus when I need to access the app during or post call, I don't have to go through the lockscreen every time?
Thanks in advance.
Farvesh.
*Bump*
Don't like to normally do this but it has been almost a week and no response....
Does anyone have these issues or is it just me?
Sorry, but it works fine here.
I am pretty deaf and I could hear it fine via speaker.
And the proximity sensor worked well.
(using 2.0.0.47 hacked skype on VR2.0)
I have camera issues sometime (turn upside down). But not always.
I reverted back to the official but didn't notice any of your issues.
Not 100% sure if Skype was the cause but was cached in the background and battery depleted a lot quicker til i froze it with Titanium...
Would it not of been better to post your concerns over at the forum that is running the hacked program?
You'll get better results from there.

As I said in the first post the same applies to the normal version in the market. I guess it is only me then - that being said I am using LR 1.5. Proximity sensor definitely does not work (screen timeout eventually turns the screen off).
Sound is definitely low as well - I compare it to my wife's 3GS and there is a very clear difference. Have the same problem with Tango as well... It's either the rom or a setting somewhere. Thanks for your responses anyway - appreciate it.

Like I said you'll get better feedback from the forums dealing with the hacked skype version.
Go in there and post your issues along with rom details mobile to mobile or mobile to PC skype chats..
theos0o may ask for your skype log file... Hope this helps
