Dust on my Oneplus 2 camera. - OnePlus 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I bought my oneplus 2 on january . I notice that that dust particles has been accumulating on the lens which makes me worried now. Im not interested in going to the service center though it's a small issue I'm scared that they would take so much time as I can't live without the mobile Guy. So Please do Help me.
Thanks in advance.

Protecting your Camera... any suggestions?

I was wondering, do people go out of their way to make their camera's last? I was hoping to keep my vibrant for at least 5-6 years and use it as my primary camera on the occasions that I have a need for one.
I was wondering if you guys had any tips or suggestions for keeping the camera relatively clean and scratch free?
Maybe cutting out a small plastic screen protector to place on the inside of my gel case to keep my finger from hitting it would help, and then I could just take the case off when snapping pictures....
5-6 years O_O
Did I read that correctly? In a year the vibrant is going to be nothing more than an outdated phone.

You should not have any issues with the camera by just leaving it alone. I'n all my years owning phones with cameras, I've never cracked, scratched, or anything else and I just left it alone.
Don't even bother putting a screen protector. I'll start to haze up with time, and the images would not look crisp. I think you'll be fine.

actually I have had a problem (not recently but WAY WAY back on one of the first HTC phones the lens cover got scratched while it was in the case and it took bad pics after that) ever since then I keep a small square of blue painters tape over the lens it protects it from scratches and it comes off quick and easy if you need to take pics but as too the 5-6 year thing man WOW I am lucky if I keep a phone 5-6 months good luck.
I'm in the same boat as SquareBare. I'm interested in buying myself a lens protector as well. As I have noticed fine scratches already, albeit I do take care of my phone religiously. And I do plan on keeping this phone for many years to come as I do not renew my contract. Though searching around has led me to believe I have to purchase the screen protector again to get the lens protector. It comes in a package. The only company that offers it, is realook. I looked into SGP as well, but they do not offer it for the Vibrant. Before you say that they do offer it, I have personally emailed them regards to the installation video that was posted on their website, and they confirmed with me the product is not available. Here is their email.

You do know that the camera is available for purchase separate, right? If your camera does get scratched (or the lens) wouldn't replacing it solve the problem? They only cost about 30 bucks
Actually the camera is pretty strong i guess, because after all i've been through on my past vibrant no scratches on the camera at all.
I dropped it from a 2 story house ( i was working on cleaning gutters bcz my dad was like pissed at me haha) Grass got into the bezel but thats it. i cleaned it a little bcz of grass stains and besides that no scratches no bumps etc. ( it dropped flat not top or bottom first)
The camera lens protector/plastic piece that shields the actual camera is only $3.48 with a minimum purchase of 5. So for less than $20 you can have 5 accidents and make it like new again everytime.

Regardless of the phone not being up to par in a couple of years, it'll still make calls. I have backup phones that are 4 years old. They work, and are nice to bring along on roadtrips just in case I can't get to a charger and my phone dies.

I don't think they do that anymore. Or at least I didn't get a camera protector when I ordered my new set of protectors this past January.

Yeah, I could go through that route, but why spend 30 bucks of having it to take it apart and replacing it, while you can just buy a piece of plastic that cost no less then a few dollars to replace it. I can't see a good reasoning for having to buy a new camera. Makes no sense.
That's actually just a piece of glass that covers the actual camera lens, mine is pretty scratched but it doesn't seem to affect pictures any. I haven't seen any one selling that little piece of glass, but I'm assuming it wouldn't be too hard to replace.

[Q] Dust behind the digitizer

Hey guys,
I've been a proud Ideos X5 owner since about two and a half weeks...
But after the first week I was already noticing dust gathering on the LCD, under the digitizer.
It started in the right upper corner and one large particle all the way at the bottom. It seems to be spreading...
Has anyone else noticed dust collecting underneath the digitizer or am I the only one?
Anyone got any idea if this is an issue worth sending the phone for repair (under warranty if that's even possible)?
It's not a major issue but it is kind of a nuisance...
Any answer is appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
I've owned this phone for almost nine months now and haven't got a speck of dust(have to knock trice) under the digitizer.. So I think you should take it back under the warranty..

No dust yet under the screen and I've had the phone for about 6 weeks now...
I have dust in the upper right corner.

6 months now, not a single dust under digitizer, only pixels.
I have used this phone for 9 months now and have no dust behind the glass (even my screen got 2 big cracks..) Used screen protector for 5 months. I have one bad pixel, but it is hard to see
Thanks for your replies guys, I'm going to contact the costumer service of my supplier to see if they'll ask to return it or something...
I'm loving this phone but I would like it to behave like it should
After reading this topic I took good look at my screen and I found I have 4 or 5 grains of dust inside. Never noticed them, I cant see them when the screen is on, only with a complete black screen.
Its not such a big deal, I work at a very dusty place and sooner or later it would happen.
For the price of this device I wont even bother to send it to the repair service.
same problem for me i n 8800 pro. dust got under digitiser within two/three weeks and from the same upper right corner. it seems that all factors being common its due to some manufacturing defects. Any more details by anyone like opinion of Huawei service centres.

Mine has gathered dust under the upper left corner, i wonder if the guys over at the shop i bought it can fix it.
This has to be manufacturing defect. I'm using the phone for about 15 months now and i have little bits of dust all over the right bottom side. Though it is not visible when the screen is on. I have this for about 3 months now and it's not such a big deal. The phone has the screen protector and TPU shield on it since begining.
Its been one year but i dint notice any dust behind the screen untill i had it given to the customer care for some issue and i got it back after a month with dust all over behind the screen when they changed the mother board.. so i purchased a new screw driver set and cleaned it myself!!!!
1 year in use, somewhat huge amount of dust behind the screen in the left bottom corner.

How is it hampering your daily use? Is the screen visibility reduced appreciably? I am asking this because I am to decide whether to take it to service centre or not based on your experiences? Lastly why didn't you take it to service centre? Don't mind by my questions. I am just trying to understand the gravity of the problem. Thank you.

I just stopped to care about it. But sometime I'll definitely go to service 'cos of it,
I have had the X5 for well over a year now and the dust under the digitiser was bad enough for me to remove and clean it. 4 plectrums and a soft cloth worked ok, but if you are under warranty get it done. It doesn't improve!

x5 is a dust collector
Indeed, x5 is a dust collector
Same problem here.
I found a post that instructed on how to open the phone and remove the digitizer, however it also said that doing it is risky cos any mistake during the reassembly would render it useless.
And I can't even figure out the place from where the dust is going in. So plugging the hole is impossible too.

Can you give the link to that post.
Secondly I figured out the defect. Actually in my phone the top left and right part of the digitizer is not properly sitting on it's counterpart say bezel or whatever it's called. There is quite an appreciable gap from where the dust is going in. This is a purely a manufacturing defect. I may upload a photo if I can take a good shot of the same.
I am using this X5 from a 14 months I haven't seen dust particle behind digitizer ....... its seems good for me

Dust on camera lens?

Hi, I spotted a couple of motes on my rear camera lens. The long story is that those motes weren't there before I send my phone to the Huawei Service Centre that took them more than one month to fix my cracked camera cover.
So instead of sending it back to them and deal with their utter crap service (they didn't covered me with the warranty for the cracked camera cover) and not having my phone for another month I decide to dismantle the cover myself with the proper tools and clean the lens, the result is that I managed to clean one of the motes (up right corner) but the other three dots that can be easily spotted in the middle and another one in the left side were not removed.
I tried to cleaning it with air to remove dust, a lens cleaner solution applied to a cotton bud and a brush for cleaning lenses... And none of those solutions were able to remove the motes/dots there.
I'm starting to consider that the lens could be damaged (thought it doesn't looks to me like a lens damaged effect) or there is liquid solution or something stick to the lens that I can't easily remove (maybe they damaged it when they were repairing the cover)... It also looks like they are not in the same exact position, they are slightly moved in the two different images.
Any ideas?

Same here, i think its on the inside of camera lens, because cleaning didn't help. Ebay has 6p camera modules for sale.

I know that this is a really old thread - but how did you resolve this issue?
My 6p has a speck of dust that I realized probably a month or so outside of warranty. I started doing things in my life that involve A LOT of picture and video now -- and I finally noticed the speck of dust. Now, it's really obvious (mostly because I know where to look for it).
Was yours fixable by taking it apart? Or did you have to order a new sensor?

Hey, mine wasn't fix, I've been living with that until now, taking it apart didn't help, recently I took it to a Huawei service center for another reason and they told me that my lens was damaged inside so... You may have more luck than me and be just dust.

Straches On My Screen

Anyone know how get LIGHT Straches off screen not deep are about 1cm long
Cheers
Got a few myself . .one i can actually feel by running my nail across but a few hours just very tiny and not visible until turned a certain way . .anyone got any tips to remove them?
Got the same here. Very tiny hairline scratches, you have to look really hard to see them. I'd expect many would notice they will have these scratches if they look close enough. Let's hope the glass regenerates in due time lol
Seriously though, it was quite disappointing to see. But I'm over it now, until I see some good quality reviews on screen protectors I'm just going to continue down this path of so called nakedness.

Got a screen protector straight away, you can never be too careful and accidents do happen. Hope you manage to get them out.

I'm not too thrilled with the screens so far. Had my phone for 2 weeks..
just got back from vacation and on first day on vacation phone dropped out of my pocket with a case and hit the concrete 3 1/2 foot drop. Hit right on the bend on the display and cracked like it was cheap glass. I was so pissed. Here I watch fall tests left and right and this thing cant even handle a little fall. I was coming from a note 4 and I never had a phone break so easily. After looking around it looked like many people with 6 edge had/has issues of it breaking easily or breaking even from heat changes from charging. Now I get to have the fun fighting with samsung not to [email protected] me over too much or go with a repair shop and pray.
Anyone using a wallet-style case with their phone ? I can bet that some of the Samsung official wallet-style cases are not too friendly with the screen, especially the Clear Cover case which is pure plastic and at least the S6 Edge model scratched the screen very badly.

P10 plus bend problem

Hello there. I have a question. In juli I bought myself a P10 plus telephone. After a few days use ( I never place my phone in the backpocket) I noticed that the telephone was a bit bend and when place on a table - I could actually tilt it when touchin it in the corners. I talked with my Mobile service provider (those who sold my the phone) and it was sent to their workshop. My mobile service provider paid the bill and the backcover was replaced. When I recieved the phone from the workshop - it is still bit skewed ( Ive uploaded some photo and films here : https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B7bL9wrgJXjXSUxuRmpVa2FucnM ) . Anyone experienced similar problems?
Kind regard the frustrated
Haha... No... fortunately, I dropped on the first week I got it on 8th of April since I using it every day the only issue I faced is the painting coming off for some reason. It is inside the case and still coming off from the back, which is odd. not scratched or fallen down to the floor, but little dots of paint coming off.
But I find a good screen protector which is good, called Ghost Shield. The designed curve on edge of the front glass is makes a nightmare to find a good screen protector, but this is cover the surface edge to edge not peeling up on the curved area either.

Thanks for the reply. Well at least my paint is intact
If I had dropped the phone or physically missused the phone, then I could only blame myself - that would somehow be less frustrating
Im using this flip case for my phone. Very elegant.
Update : I'll get my unit replaced with a new one. Since no one replied with the same problem - I'll conclude that it can be narrowed to one faulty device, although I can see that there were two repports in the P10 forum.
