I setup from scratch my S7 Edge. Then double pressed to launch camera and I got an error message camera was closing.
So I hard reset phone, started fresh again and I've got same message. It seems the only solution is a hard reset again as deleting the camera data and cache doesn't help.
Any ideas.
My issue is that when camera opens and I turn the phone to landscape view it force closes.

I have a solution.
The problem with the camera only happens when you have camera storage set to SD card. If you set the storage location to internal it is fine.
You might have to clear camera data to reset it, if you can't, just remove the SD card and then change the location. When you re-insert the SD card, press cancel when it asks you if you want to change the storage location.
Hopefully a future update will rectify this.

Unfortunately a reboot did not fix it for me. It's pretty weird, as the order is not random, it just doesn't make any sense.

Like the thumbnails are different, and then when you go into the picture it changes to what it is... Right? It could be something as simple as the thumbnails made for that specific picture were misplaced by the system on accident. I don't know, I thought a reboot fixed it, but I have the same issue and I thought that fixed it for me, but it still remains.
If thumbnails are the problem you could try clearing the cache on the Gallery app in Settings/Applications/Manage apps.
Also, you could delete all the thumbnail files in the /sdcard/dcim/.thumbnails folder. They should regenerate next time you reboot the phone, or remount the sdcard to the phone (after usb disconnect).

I have that same sorting issue and restarting helps. But I've been losing pictures. Once i get to 100 pictures i start losing the newest ones. Has anybody had this so far?

Yes, new pictures disappear for me as well.
There are a slew of bugs with Gingerbread (ringtone changing randomly is another one that constantly reoccurs).
BUMP.
I"ve reported the problem to Google. Please visit link and star. http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=13419
If anyone else is experiencing disappearing photographs in their Gallery, please visit link and star the issue so attention is brought to it: http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=13419
Anybody notice if you use two fingers in the Gallery album section, you create a mini slide show? Neat feature.
I installed cm_encore_full-235.zip to boot of a 16gb sandisk class4, and the Gapps for that release
Google market works i can purchase and download. however every time i view a app and press the back button to go back to the list Market Force closes. It also sometimes randomly does this while I am browsing the apps list.
I have wiped the cache for market and cleared data for Google framework but the problem still exists.
Anyone have any ideas on how to fix. I also have had the nook not come out of sleep and had to reboot but this has happened only once. Everything else has been great.
Just need to fix the annoying Market force close
Try clearing data for market... and fix permissions in ROM Manager... see if that helps
I get FC often if I am updating an app. Seems it locks up during the install phase. This has been common to several CM7 installs. Still running a Class 10 non-Sandisk SD card.
Cheers,

class 10 is most likely your issue... it has been covered that class 10 does not support fast enough random read/writes and small files.
Ok tried clearing market data and fixing permissions. problem still persists. I reproduce it every time by going to the app install screen and then hitting the back button, It force closes every time.

I believe this has been an issue with the new nightlies. I have not seen a changelog item that looks like it is intended to fix this yet.
Ok i will keep checking back, hopefully it will be fixed soon.
not too big of a deal just annoying when looking for new apps to install, If i know what i am looking for it is not too much of a problem.

Hi!
I am trying the surround shot camera feature. If i am going to take partial shots, it will save.
But if i complete the whole 360 deg angles, it will not save. It will just say "Processing..." then goes away.
I can't find a trace in the gallery. Only the partials.
Can someone try this and verify?
Im using SM-N9005 - XXUBMI7 - Stock - Unrooted.
Thanks!

Can you tell me how you did that?
I have this problem too. Irritating!
(I was just showing off to the whole office and when it finished nothing saved. )
I also have the same problem with my "1 day" Samsung Note 3, i have cleared the camera cache but it won't work
Can it be because i don't use a SD Card?

Just to update. I did a factory reset and it works. Sucks but I don't want to have to deal with it again.
Ok, i managed to make it work (at least once, since i haven't tried it anymore since)
What i did was:
1. Clear cache (again)
2. Start making a surround shot, but only a few pictures then save (finish it before its 100% done) then it completed this one.
3. This time i made a full cycle (all frames) and it completed it as it should.
So now i hope it works as it should for me.
Hi guys,
Hitting wall with this S5 since .nomedia file for me doesn't work. I have an app installed in internal memory, which has some pictures in it for its operation. Now this pictures show up in gallery which is really annoying as there are about 30folders(gallery lists as albums..)
I tried full reset gallery + media storage apps, restart phone. Gallery opens, clear first and within couple seconds again full of that crap.... Now is there any solution on this? I don't really want to download apps since troubleshooting when they crash is even bigger pain....

I also have had problems with the stock gallery dsiplaying some .nomedia directories, i use quickpic though and it works flawlessly there, theres even an option in it to hide folders, so its not an issue for me. According to google this is a widespread issue, and suprise suprise a solution i saw was use quickpic.

But that's complete rubbish, what's the point to pay premium for a phone which is not even capable to do basics? I get really annoyed lately with samsung... They keep removing useful features one after another with each new model release.... Instead put loads of rubbish apps which never gets used...
So how does quickpic work then? Surely there should be a way to manually do same ?

Something you can try is force stopping the gallery then clear the cache and data, open it, then repeat a few times till it works. Quickpic works like a gallery lol, just download it yourself and play with it, if you long press a folder theres a menu option to hide it.

Not sure how many of ya have faced similar issues with your S8 and apps. I will share some experienced by wife and myself.
Stock email app : lags the phone badly at times, and in worst case scenarios, it totally hangs the phone. Need to do hard reset using volume n power keys. This is a horrible glitch, cos the app is a pretty good email app.
Instagram : lags the phone occasionally. Does not load any pics or the screen, just does black blank. At least no reset required.
Candy crush : ( dont judge us!!!) Very slow loading.
Syncing issues with your fitness apps.
And lastly, SD card as a storage option for the camera never works. You may select it as your storage location, but after a few shots an error msg will appear and revert you back to Internal Storage. The sd card seems to be working fine on its own as a storage medium.
Do share if you face the same problems or more.
Hope a patch/fix ia released soon.
Thanks.
I use Instagram and 256gb sd card for my photos. I've not experienced any of these issues. I would try a factory reset and or replacement. I know it's extremely hard to believe you have 2 phones doing it though. So I'm not sure what's going on. Other than a rouge app causing issues. Maybe delete one of those apps one at a time and see if one of those are the problem before factory reset. Hope that helps.

I have the problem as well, all games lag and even an old Oppo outdoes this s8.
So frameskips a lot, not smooth. Have to use game tuner to reduce screen resolution to 35 percent to get decent gaming
Remove SD card completely and check if issues persist.
Checkout this thread. There's an app mentioned called SD Card Monitor, found out my S8 was essentially ejecting the card very frequently.

How do you migrate/move your photos to the sd card?
Im currently using Google photos.
Flickr app hangs for minutes
When using Flickr app phone freezes on an image. Home key dead. Show all apps running likewise. Pressing on/off a few times sometimes releases it like the kernel went to sleep.
General lags
Hi everyone,
don't know if this helps but after approx. 3 weeks of use I had terrible lags with my unbranded galaxy S8 (slow app start, general lags during operation, very un-smooth scrolling etc.). It runs on stock Rom, no root. Uninstalled any unnecessary apps, still no cure. Deleted cache partition through the service menu, but the lags persisted. Then I read somewhere that the app "all in one gestures" I installed to remap the Bixby button might be the cause. Uninstalled it, wiped cache partition again an rebooted my phone. Since then the problem disappeared, phone runs smooth as silk even with multitasking an a lot of ram consuming apps open.
Hope this is useful to some of you.

Hi!
I didn't uninstall Bixby, I uninstalled an app used to "remap" the Bixby button in order not to start Bixby upon pressing it. I had it set to launch the camera. Somehow it interfered with Samsungs launcher and made it terribly slow...
