Surround shot not saving - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi!
I am trying the surround shot camera feature. If i am going to take partial shots, it will save.
But if i complete the whole 360 deg angles, it will not save. It will just say "Processing..." then goes away.
I can't find a trace in the gallery. Only the partials.
Can someone try this and verify?
Im using SM-N9005 - XXUBMI7 - Stock - Unrooted.
Thanks!

Can you tell me how you did that?
I have this problem too. Irritating!
(I was just showing off to the whole office and when it finished nothing saved. )

I also have the same problem with my "1 day" Samsung Note 3, i have cleared the camera cache but it won't work
Can it be because i don't use a SD Card?

Just to update. I did a factory reset and it works. Sucks but I don't want to have to deal with it again.

Ok, i managed to make it work (at least once, since i haven't tried it anymore since)
What i did was:
1. Clear cache (again)
2. Start making a surround shot, but only a few pictures then save (finish it before its 100% done) then it completed this one.
3. This time i made a full cycle (all frames) and it completed it as it should.
So now i hope it works as it should for me.

Gallery issue?

Why doesn't the gallery organize photos by date? They all seem to be put randomly in the camera album

Unfortunately a reboot did not fix it for me. It's pretty weird, as the order is not random, it just doesn't make any sense.

Like the thumbnails are different, and then when you go into the picture it changes to what it is... Right? It could be something as simple as the thumbnails made for that specific picture were misplaced by the system on accident. I don't know, I thought a reboot fixed it, but I have the same issue and I thought that fixed it for me, but it still remains.
If thumbnails are the problem you could try clearing the cache on the Gallery app in Settings/Applications/Manage apps.
Also, you could delete all the thumbnail files in the /sdcard/dcim/.thumbnails folder. They should regenerate next time you reboot the phone, or remount the sdcard to the phone (after usb disconnect).

This worked. I did both and then rebooted. Awesome. Gotta love android.

I have that same sorting issue and restarting helps. But I've been losing pictures. Once i get to 100 pictures i start losing the newest ones. Has anybody had this so far?

Yes, new pictures disappear for me as well.
There are a slew of bugs with Gingerbread (ringtone changing randomly is another one that constantly reoccurs).
BUMP.
I"ve reported the problem to Google. Please visit link and star. http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=13419

Anybody notice if you use two fingers in the Gallery album section, you create a mini slide show? Neat feature.

Rotation problems

All of a sudden my tab has stopped auto rotating. It turns vertical and sitcks there. I was using adw launcher but uninstalled it. Tried recalibrating. The auto rotation is selected. Tried resetting everything short of a clean wipe which I will do later if i can't figure this out.
Anybody have any other ideas?
Thanks

You tried wiping cache and davlik cache through CWM?
If that doesn't work, try doing a full wipe and re-flashing your ROM

oh wait heres an idea...
Go into settings and turn on Motion Activation under Motion Settings. Try those out and if they dont respond at all, its a hardware problem and you need a replacement.
I wonder if theres an app that will display all of the orientation values? If there is you could use and and see whats up (no pun intended).

App? Probably not.
Coding somewhere? Probably.
Like a Portrait mode = 0 or = 1
There is an app for that: Elixir
Device info with full details, and you can also test all sensors.
Took it back to the store. I honestly think the accelerometer broke. No motion sensitive anything would work.
Appreciate the help

S Note widget

I just saw a video about how the photo note app work and I wanted to try it. Everything was ok but then when it tries to get the text from the picture, it just crashes. Also the other apps would not even start and it will only show a white screen then close to the home page. I did root my note 4 and I also did restore a backup from my note 3 so idk if one of these caused this.

[Q] Pictures Keep Returning...

Ello!
So, if I delete pictures via the gallery, they DO delete, however after an hour or so, or after a restart, the pictures return. Im on Omega 10 if that helps at all.
The fact they return after a restart makes me think its due to the media scanner, however if that's the case then does that mean the gallery app is not deleting the pictures really?
Cheers for any advise!

To give more information I can confirm I don't have any sync switched on in accounts and don't have or use the picasa app...
If it helps, the pictures are stored on my external SD card.
after you delete all gallery pictures, go to settings - application manager, and find the gallery app. tap it to get to the information screen, then clear cache and clear data.
Then exit out of that and restart the gallery app. that should take care of any "leftovers"

Bad experience after update to Android 12

Hi All,
So couple months ago I upgraded my Galaxy S10+ (SM-G975F/DS) to Android 12, fully official no roots and I've been having the worst experience and I have no idea why this happens.
So my problem is the following:
Like 8 out of 10 times when I unlock my phone and would like to go the the apps menu with a swipe up on the home screen it doesn't show any apps just a blank blurred screen with the search bar on top. Also some icons are missing from apps, only the associated colors are present.
Please find a screen recording attached showing the problem.
This happens to me after the Android 12 update.
Do you have any tips / suggestions on how to resolve this?
So far my phone is in good conditions nothing extraordinary with it though.
Best,
Henry
