LAUNCH DAY!!!
I have an appointment at Best Buy Mobile in 4 hours, I'm so excited cannot wait to be off work so I can run there!!
On one part I'm sad that I will be leaving Windows Mobile (Touch Pro2) but they're not coming out with a 1ghz CDMA Winmo phone so it's time to move on... I had tried android before on a G1 but went back to windows mobile after realizing you couldn't do much with it. Hopefully by now android is more winmo like with folder structures and complete control of files etc. Also will miss my $50/mo unlimited everything plan from boost(sprint).
Does Best Buy do 1-year contracts? I'd rather pay the $70 extra for the phone if I have the option of upgrading early.

My cousin works at a store, so I got to cut the line of 15 peopel and be in and out with one.

I got mine this morning. Very satisfied so far, although I can't say I approve of Motorola's attitude towards rooting.

mine will be arriving to my doorsteps tomorrow morning/afternoon, didnt want that hassle of mail-in-rebate so i ordered online.

my appointment is at noon but my wifey is picking it up for me since she gets corporate discount. Woot!

Went to the verizon store after work and they were sold out. Then I went to the mall and got mine there.

I was number 15 to get mines. No preorder just walked in and added a line. Loving it so far also got the carbon fiber case, love those job discounts

Went there an hour and a half before opening, got mine 4th.

got mine at 8:45 this morning. They even let me in the store a little early. I got the phone, some screen protectors, a case and the media dock. Everything i wanted. I am super happy.

How much is the media dock?

The Media Dock is 49.99 the cable is 24.99 and the car dock is 24.99 as well. The gel case is 14.99 and so forth for the others.
I got mine today. Dropped my Evo and gave it to my sister, she was like uh, are you for real, your just giving it to me, , well i think a good deed leads to another in the future!
I love it so far, but, coming from Sense, it's really a diff ballgame. It has me loving the internal Social networks and all the resizing of the widgets and etc...
The pictures and video seem more vibrant than the Evo too. The colors and letters on the screen seem sharper. Hmm.. who'd thought, once again Motorola defies with only 54 Extra Pixels.
Only complain, wtf, with the speaker? Like it's a "Droid" they're known for that, even the Incredible still has a louder speaker, and dont let me get started with the power hous of an Evo.
Besides that, It has been well. This will suffice until the winter when the 2GHZ one arrives and the 12MP and all those goodies.

I'm going to pick mine up right now. I had to pay an old debt to sprint and they told me if they run my credit twice within 60 days it'll get flagged for fraud, so I'm hoping that doesn't happen. I don't know if they ran my credit when I payed that debt or not.

Yeah. Got mine and rooted it already. Waiting for a nandroid capable recovery and nand unlock. Cases at sprint were not that great. I might stop by bb today or tomorrow and get a screen pro put on it and see if they have better cases. Sprint had a neat dock but obviously you can't dock if you have a case.

They had one at Sprint that I really liked. It was back and hard rubberized. And for 15 bucks. Who could argue? I put it on and it feels REALLY awesome.

How's the battery life?
Can you make it two days without a charge?

Don't forget 6 min to drive back to work

I have to wait til after work tonight. I hope there is still stock. Going to the Sprint store first to get my wife to see if she likes it. Then to Best Buy to get the instant rebate. If she likes it I have to wait til November. If not then I will swap devices asap!

Same here. Another person was there picking up the Epic, but other than that, we were alone in the store.

Initial Impressions
Very quick impressions...
Capacative buttons work absolutely FINE.
Going through the menu setting up various things the phone flies.
Email setup is much more of a pain the BB but I expected that and went through the same thing with the EVO
The phone has less of a 3G signal in my office thatn the EVO did but at least it's a solid one bar whereas my 9650 Bold would drop every call. Sprint sent me an Airwave yesterday to use in the office so once I get that up and running I'll be good to go. I have a strong 4g signal at home so I'll try that out this evening.
Absolutely love the screen. If you don't have an EVO sitting next to it for comparison, the screen is plenty big enough.
Keyboard is excellent
I'm guessing it's tyhe rounded corners...the phone is much more comfortable in the hand than the EVO was and for perhaps the same reason, fits much better in the pocket.
Looks great...I sense no "cheapness" factor to it at all.
I'll have more input after I get a chance to really work with it as the day progresses but I'm very happy with the decision to go with this device.

Further Updates on Call / Sound Quality and GPS:
Having spent the morning on the phone now, I have to say...for someone who wears hearing aids (me), the call quality both on the earpiece in the front and the rear speaker is simply the best I've ever experienced with wither BB or my previous EVO.
Totally impressed and that alone makes this phone worth it to me.
Interestingly, while the EPIC shows only one bar whereas the EVO used to show 2-3 here in my office, the EVO would drop about every third call and the connection was obviously poor. At one bar, the EPIC sounds darn solid.
GPS locked on in seconds from within my office and put me right where I am.
Fired up Sprint Nav, put my house in for a destination and much more quickly than my BB 9650 ever did, it had me on the way home...even though it's not time to go home

So far loving the keyboard amd how smooth verything seems to be. Sprin had a really cool case with a ruberized back that I decided to buy and so did te other guy getting a epic.
I miss the big screen of the evo. But the samoled screen is definitely an improvement

Picked mine up about an hour ago. I was third in line when the Sprint store opened at 8AM. By the time I left about 20 minutes later, there where at least 6 other people there all wanting the Epic. Purchased all of the available accessories including the Media Dock.

Picked mine up at 8am sharp. Wasn't $350 upfront rather $250 like BB & RS are offering. Asked rep if I had to charge the battery when I got home and said no. Powered it up and it was only 50% charged. Tested GPS with google maps, cold locked right in after I turned on locate in settings. No 4g so far and I live between baltimore and richmond 4g areas, rep said I would have it but I know he was just blowing smoke up my arse about those things. He also kindly advised me that I would be receiving an automated survey call tomorrow and to give their store a 5 out of 1 scoring. I'll think about it.
All in all, pretty pleased with the smothness, minor lag when loading up xda page. Asphalt 5(demo) ran smooth, hardware keyboard has a great feel and good key spacing, and backlit keys are a major plus.
Let the custom ROMS begin!

Just got mine about an hour ago. The only downside is the layout on it but I'm sure some custom ROMS will come soon and I can't root so the wireless tether feature is not there. Overall very nice screen and the touch screen is great. I've only played with it for a half hour so I can't say a whole lot more about it.

It's a guarantee they will, it took 15 minutes for me to buy a car charger the other day.

It took me all of 16 minutes to return the Bold 9650, have them activate the EPIC, check that it worked, buy a case and get out of the store.
I didn't bother to have them set up my email accounts as I'll do it myself.

Corp store on new contract $260+. Dunno if he was trying to hook me up or if corp is trying to compete with BB/RS pricing. I did mention "that's what BB across the plaza is selling it for" and he just mumbled LOL.

Dang! My upgrade iss due tomorrow and I call sprint because I havee reserved a phone from sprint and BB, but sprint doesn't wanna give me the instand rebate and sprint doesn't wanna transfer the upgrade day to today, so I'm screw. F U Sprint!!!!

GearVR makes this phone a must have

I banked on the idea that this phone was a mandatory item due to GearVR. This is why I bought this phone and now I am not regretting it. I played around with my GearVR all night and am blown away.
For all the haters out there you have really missed out.
For this one feature alone makes this phone the best on the planet. I cant wait to see all the stuff that will be developed for it.
P.s. I missed out on my controller it was on backorder when I ordered my gearVR. I guess I got lucky to have that but some games require a gamepad. I guess root will allow a ps4 controller to work? Are there any other controllers that people have found to work with/without root?

Just Received Gear VR Promotion 3/24/16

I received the e-mail yesterday that I was confirmed and approved for the Samsung Gear VR promotion and that it should ship around April 1st 2016. FedEx just dropped off the package to me here at home and I am pleasantly surprised that it came over a week early..definitely wasn't expecting it today..Glad I worked from home today...Be on the lookout out if you are expecting the VR Promotion guys!!

And it is ever so cool to play with! I'm not a gamer and there is a ton of other content. Both free and pay. Here's an article with some recommendations. Try the 360 photos thing by Getty. Nice tour of Rome and other cities and nature and more.

Mine arrived too. I listed it for sale right away before the market is flooded.
My Oculus Rift CV1 arrives next week and HTC Vive perhaps a week after that
The GearVR is gimmicky at best, nothing compared to the full-blown VR experience because it doesn't have positional tracking. When you lean in closer to objects, nothing happens. The FOV also is too narrow so you see black bars at the edge of your screen. The 360 videos are a blurry mess. I had a GearVR last year and sold it after using it once (I already had an Oculus DK2 for a full year before trying that).
Oculus Home is very slick though, but it'll be on the Rift CV1 as well.
If you try your GearVR and are disappointed, just remember that the full-blown PC version is at least twice as more immersive. I think mobile VR will catch up within a few years.

I received the email from Samsung yesterday that my order was placed to delivery on 04/01 and today I got the track number from FedEx and should get it tomorrow..

3/4/16..just a few days after I received my preorder

I got the approval of claim confirmation on Tuesday (Mar 22)
But up to now, I haven't receive it yet.

No matter how many times i submit a receipt they say it's not enough to verify purchase. I gave up on it

I bought a SM-935F off eBay and submitted for the free Gear VR. The appeal will probably be rejected but no loss in trying I guess.

I got mine today but the game bundle is nowhere to be found. I checked under library not installed and that section doesn't exist.

I sold mine half price. Tried it 3 times and I got sooo motion sickness. I was about to trow up like 2 hrs after each use.
I had the same problem with oculus rift dev kit.
Need much higher refreshrate for VR to be of any use for ppl like me.

Verizon has LG V20 in stores today!

I'm going to go pick mine up now. Had the manager hold the silver one for me as there was only one left. I don't know why they're there early, but I thought I'd call just in case, and indeed they have them 5 days early!

I called 4 of my stores today, all of them said they have no idea when they will be getting them in.... did you indeed pick it up from the store?

Why not just order it from the Verizon website.
I ordered mine Thursday night. Received it Friday. Just activated it a few hours ago and been playing with it a little. Love the phone so far.

I called my local store to see if they had stock and was told yes. I proceeded to unroot and relock my bootloader on my Nexus 6 to have it ready for swap (payment plan upgrade). Got my two kids in the car and headed to the store. Got there and they have no idea what I'm talking about but after some prompting decided to check their inventory. They say they have 6 in Titan but then the store manager can't find them, and basically tell me to go order it online as it won't be in store till the 25th and they couldn't sell me one anyways if they did have stock. I really just wanted to see and feel the phone, everything else I'm sold on. But the attitude I got when we are talking about hundreds of dollars worth of hardware and service, really astounds me. Anyway the moral of the story is YMMV as far as getting a v20 in store before the 25th. Smh I wanted silver anyways.....

it's a verizon store, what did you expect? everytime i goto corporate stores, they're all ignorant a**holes. i hate corporate verizon. i used to run an authorized retailer, and people would constantly tell us nightmare stories of corporate stores, and all i would do is agree, because i felt the same way. they're idiots, and the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing.

Long story short: I had a temp phone (V10) and couldn't get V20 until V10 was returned. So online wasn't an option for me.

That sucks. I got lucky I guess. I'm thrilled too - this is by far the best phone I've ever used (including the Note 7 which I had for a month).

Its funny, now that I had to go back to stock, I decided to flash a Nuget ROM and now I'm not sure if I want to upgrade, my n6 still really holds its on with new software.

My Verizon zone (authorized retailer) said not until Friday. After reading this, I think I'm gonna call every day lol.

I returned my Pixel XL Saturday, came home called the store to ask about resetting my updrade date. Ended up ordering after the cut off to have it shipped Saturday but I got my tracking info this morning and gets here tomorrow. Really looking forward to ths phone, I had to return my Note 7 and Samsung still shipped my my 256GB SD card for Free.

Same thing with me, but I got the s7 edge after my Note 7. Man, s7 edge software felt so half-baked compared to the Note 7. Also, the Note 7 curved back makes a huge difference when you hold the phone. I am returning my s7 edge and getting my v20 on wednesday and using my 256gb samsung card.

Quick question for those of you that got yours through verizon. Does it come with a factory screen protector? I'll be getting mine tomorrow and I have a case for it, but I couldn't seem to find a screen protector that was worth a damn. I really don't want to go naked until I find one if I can help it.

Yes it comes with a screen protector that can be used. Just has a small pull tab on it.

Yeah, its a cheap plastic screen protector. I'll keep it on till it bubbles up or starts to peal off.
