Hello, I wonder if someone else have this issue :
When i use my phone as usb modem, windows takes ages to set the network up, I mean it's about minutes. Every thing works, it's just almost impossible to go in windows network configuration, it's laggy, it freezes until I disable the usb sharing.
Everything is fine when I use my phone as mass storage.
I tried to update drivers, remove then reinstall it, etc... but nothing dos the trick. It happens whatever usb port I use, and I have no issue with my galaxy s5 on cm12.
I'm running on cm13.
Does anyone else has issue like that ? And anyone has a clue to make this drivers working ?
My computer is on windows 10 64bit

I've never had the need to use WMWifiRouter as a 3G to USB connection, but my modem at home is dead and won't be replaced until Tuesday. 3 days is quite a ways to go without Internet! So, I used WMWifiRouter 1.51 to enable the 3G to USB connection for my desktop PC.
After I was done with the 'net, I turned off WMWifiRouter and unplugged my phone. I then realized I needed to upload a few things on my phone, so I plug it back in to use it as a storage device. Problem is, my computer immediately detects my phone as a tether rather than the storage device. I've enabled the option so my phone asks me what type of connection it wants to create, but my computer keeps forcing the tether instead.
I know it's the way my computer is seeing my Touch Pro 2, but I was hoping somebody else may have run into the same issue before and found a resolution.
Thanks in advance!
I just used WM last night as a test, and then finally sync'd up my outlook 2000 contacts and calendar today.
Are you absolutely sure that WM has stopped running? I know on my diamond, the task manager option would NOT show some running apps after it was running without a soft reboot for like 2 months.
I haven't tried a "storage connect" yet though, I don't think I've ever used that.
I am absolutely positive it has stopped running completely. I used the built-in task manager with SKTools to verify. Even after a soft reset on my phone, my computer still does it.
Like I said, I know it's just the way my computer is now detecting my phone, but I was hoping somebody here had the same problem in the past.
I find it a little funny... I used my phone as a temporary solution to not having internet at home and now it only leads to more problems
Try uninstalling the drivers that your computer installed for the TP2, it would be in the Control Panel->Device Manager . Honestly i have no clue which one they would be but by doing this your computer will have to reinstall the USB drivers for your phone and re-recognize your phone.
Tried it. My computer installed it as a modem, but uninstalling the drivers didn't help. My comptuer would still detect it every time and reinstall the modem drivers.
Hard resetting my phone fixed this. It's the worst solution, yes, but it still worked. Fortunately, it only takes about 20 minutes to get everything back in order once more.
Thanks for the help anyways.
UPDATE: Ran into the same problem again last night. Fortunately, I found a better solution.
I made the USB to PC connection automatically connect to ActiveSync and disabled "Enable faster data synchonization." Disconnected and reconnected my phone and I was able to use the Disk Drive option once more without having my PC automatically see it as a Windows Mobile Modem
I'm trying to get the tethering working but when connecting to my laptop it never recognizes it. Any ideas on how to resolve this? I have been able to set up a hotspot, but sometimes that connection goes out. weird. Wanted to see how tethering via usb works.
You need to install HTC sync.
Hello
I have an issue with my OP2, I tried with two cables and two pc but it fix nothing
I use the tethering with an usb cable on my pc and sometimes the connection breaks off, of the blow I try to deactivate and reactivate the tethering connection except that the pc does not detect any more the phone.
That is the phone charges but I cannot enabling mtp etc.
And when I restart the phone, everything takes back. But the issue come back randomly
Anyone have an idea of this issue ?
(Sorry for my bad english)

Maybe try a clean flash/factory reset and reinstall your oneplus 2 drivers on your pc

If you can confirm that the issue is not because of the cables, then it is most likely about the usb driver on the PC.
Try connecting another device with these PCs to see if the connection problem persists.
If not, then just reflash the device or try factory reset.
Otherwise, it is the problem with the PC side. Download the driver from a reliable source and reinstall.
Hello, in fact it was the cable and the firmware, now i'm on 3.5.6 and there is no issue anymore, thanks for your answer and sorry for the late
Hello guys,
I bought a ZTE AXON 7 A2017G and wanted to use it as personal hotspot on my PC via USB. The interface MUI of this phone is not so good not intuitive and when I switch the USB Tethering supposed to do just that it's bringing a screen of how I want to connect by USB and not working to share the 4G connection to my PC. I tried all options to ‘only charge’ to ‘MTP’ etc. I use Windows 10 64bits, already installed the driver from the phone and I tried many solutions like changing the network adapter driver from device manager to RDNIS 6 or ZTE RDNIS ect. But it still doesn't work actually it does stuck the UI screens related to network when I connect the phone.
Anyone has a solution to make this work without rooting the phone? I still have a warranty so I don't want to root it while I still have it.
Thanks !

You don't lose the warranty automatically by unlocking. They have no way to know if you relocked it before sending it in (and even if you send it unlocked, there's an EU law that says that they have to prove that the software modification caused the problem). Broken screens aren't caused by LineageOS afaik...
Okay, back to the topic at hand: I have a Win10 x64 PC. I connected the USB cable to the PC, then to the phone, then went to the settings and enabled USB tethering. After a second the PC asked me if I wanted to connect to a new network. So there's definitely something wrong on your side.
After you hit tbe USB tethering option don't touch the connection options that appear (the MTP, PTP, install driver stuff), just leave them as-is
So i have the LG v20 H-990 (elsa) non rooted phone with Android 7.... Im trying to get it to connect to my pc but it wont work..i have usb drivers and lg drivers 4.2 plus i have lg bridge installed but as soon as i plug phone in...it just starts charging...
So in developer options i saw its set to mtp (media transfer protocol) and i cant cgange it even if i select sometging else it just goes back to mtp... So i tried turning usb debugging on...yet no joy....its not that the PC is not picking up the phone but more like tye phone is not letting connection ....well connect...please help?? I want to try and get some backups going and updates and also play with photos and vids ....please please please help
You have an H990 or an LS997? Also, the phone will charge, even on MTP(which is what it uses to communicate with PC), so you don't have to try to force stop it. Have you gone into device manager or ADB to verify your PC isn't reading the phone?
Sent from my LG-LS997 using Tapatalk
I have the h-990 and yes i have gone to device manager and there is nothing...
I've been having the same problem I couldn't change USB connection type from mtp to charging or ptp etc...what I found is if I try to change it from the developer menu it doesn't want to work, but if I bring down the notifications shade and expand the notification for it and change it with the popup it tends to work most times...I did have one time I couldn't get it to work at all until I factory reset my phone (wiped and reflashed ROM but I'm rooted and rom'd)... Sometimes restarting both phone and PC works...I'm not sure what it is it seems to be different on every PC I hookup to ...oh and sometimes I've toggled USB debugging off then on and that helped....so without several people having the problem and all trying to collect information about types of PC and cables and other individual variables I figured its some kind of glitch or some code error somewhere that under certain circumstances makes the v20 stupid, that likely won't be fixed or solved...this is just my experience , i thought maybe one of the things that seemed to help me might help you....good luck
