Will phone work with BoostMobile? - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I checked and it looks like Nexus 6P has the available bands for BoostMobile but when I called customer service they're saying the device is not supported by BoostMobile? It lacks hardware or software and I know they're lying or the customer service reps don't know what they're talking about. Even though it'll work with Sprint, they're saying it won't work with Boost.
I called and spoke with another representative and he said that if phone has CDMA capability, it may work with BoostMobile. So I guess I'll have to try it and find out.
Also, I have flashed a phone over to BoostMobile even though they have said that they will not activate it. Meaning flashed a Verizon Galaxy Note 3 over to BoostMobile so I'd like to know if there's a workaround to solve this problem?

Sprint Treo Pro on Verizon?

Forgive me if this has been discussed. I did a search, but did not find anything. Is it possible to reprovision a Sprint Treo Pro to Verizon? I know there are Alltel Pro's running on Verizon. I have a buddy that would kill to have one on Verizon.

You can buy a real CDMA Treo Pro issued by Verizon (not Alltel), directly from them. I know, because I have one. It's cool - no carrier branding on it at all, just Palm.

Far as Verizon has said, they will not activate any phone that is not specifically branded for Verizon, this has been their policy for more than a few years now.

I can confirm that.
The tech support lady kept asking if it had Verizon written on it, checked the screen during startup for the Verizon logo, and said the fact that dialing *228 failed to connect all meant it wasn't a Verizon phone and they would not activate it. She also asked if it had SIM card, which it doesn't have of course, my phone is a CDMA one.
Not sure where I'm going from here; I sure would love to use this Treo Pro and would love to hears suggestions.
I just bought one from Verizon for 149.99 no contract. It was a CPO device. There were some requirements but I got.
Requirements:
1.Can't be eligible for upgrade. (My contract end 9/10)
2.Current phone in use must not be in stock (I had a very old Moto E815 connected at the time)

Is anyone going to try and see how the new phone works on sprint? I'm thinking about it.

edit: chatted with oneplus about sprint compatibility, got this answer : As for that concern, we still don't have official information though you may just wait for further updates from OnePlus or you can refer to our Official website.
idk about 600 for a phone that might work, stuck with about a year left on a 2 year contract...

My concern would be that by all bands, they are talking about GSM. Verizon and Sprint use CDMA. I would hold off if I was on either of those carriers.

This isn't quite correct. Verizon uses primarily Band 0 CDMA which the OnePlus 5 (And 3/3T) have included. They all lack Band 1 CDMA which is what Sprint primarily uses and Verizon uses in some major markets. Sprint also uses Band 10 CDMA. For Verizon, you can simply pop the SIM in and get service, but Sprint activation is always tied to the device and not the SIM. Sprint only allows approved devices on their network which is the biggest obstacle.
So your service would not be optimal for 1X/3G even if it were activated on Sprint. You'd most likely get no signal at all. The device does support all the LTE Bands, but while there's CDMA Support the OP5 doesn't have any of the CDMA Bands that Sprint utilizes. If you were ever able to get the device manually added in the system or Sprint approved the device on the network, then it would be essentially an LTE-Only device. Note that this might be handy or interesting in a Dual SIM set-up but probably not very optimal for an ordinary Sprint user.

It does work on Verizon as did the 3/3T. Verizon uses Band 0 in most of the country, but they do use Band 1 in some major cities, so it's not optimal. The OP3/3T/5 supports Band 2/4 but not Band 13 which is the primary LTE Band for Verizon. People have gotten 1X/3G/LTE working on Verizon, but it's not optimal due to the band support. There also may have been issues switching between CDMA and LTE but haven't checked recently for updates. If going for Dual SIM then it may work well for some people's needs.
According to this site the phone is fully compatible with Sprint then Verizon, I saw some post where people put Verizon sims and they're not able to get LTE but according to this site it should with Sprint.
Now like the comment above, Sprint will have to approve the phone in their system since they have to activate the phone, yeah it sucks but it's how evil Sprint works, Sometimes they have to add the IMEI number of the phone to put it in their system to activate.
Try and see what they said. When Google released phones that were compatible with Sprint, they did activate the phone you bought through google so this can be the same

It has zero support for CDMA (1X/3G) on Sprint since Sprint uses Band 1 and Band 10 CDMA. It would be unlikely that Sprint would whitelist the OP5 or manually add them to the database, especially considering they never added the ZTE Axon 7 which had full support for Sprint. Would certainly be pretty awesome if they did so and would benefit anyone intending to use the OP5 as an LTE-Only device.
I got the OP5 today and poped my sim in and got LTE and the carrier ID on the sim carrier information. But i have to wait and see if i can get them to add the device into the system. Which i will be on the phone with them all day I'm sure. But I'm going to give it a shot at the least. So far the phone seems awesome.

So far no. But today brings a new day. lol not giving up just yet. The guys I have talked to last night with Sprint tech support, told me to go into the store and get a new sim and that should fix my problem. They are saying that because I'm coming from a IPhone a new sim card is required. I will update tonight when I get done.

Any luck with new sprint sim card? I was not able to activate OnePlus 5 on Sprint Service. Here is comments from Sprint customer care:-
Laine P. : I totally understand how much you wanted to activate your phone. However, to activate it here in our network, I would suggest to contact back oneplus company to let the device be activated so that it will be loaded here in our system.
When I contact OnePlus they said "We are not supporting Sprint and Verizon"
I will be watching this very closely.

No it didn't. :crying: I spent several days and driving to different stores and getting different stories from sprint tech support, but I expected that.

Sprint S8 to T-Mobile - International use

I have a Sprint S8 that I took over T-Mobile. It works great in the USA, but when I go to Canada, it won't connect to any towers but it will find all signals from Rogers, Telus, etc. Talking with support, they said that since it's a Sprint S8 originally, it won't work internationally. I thought that all S8 internal components were the same? Trying to find a way to make this work, and I'm not sure if that's their way to avoid the issue and there is maybe a software fix I can do to make this work.

is Verizon Locking S10+?

Just received my S10+ a few hours ago. Purchased online through Verizon with device payments. This is probably my 8th Smart Phone purchase with device payments and never had one carrier lock before. My last 3 phones (Pixel 2 XL, iPhone XR, Note 9) have not been carrier locked what so ever even if they are financed.
Today shortly after activating and setting up the device, I pulled my Verizon SIM out and inserted my T-Mobile SIM like I've done many times before. I instantly got a message that said "Sorry, your device cant be activated on another carriers network right now."
Could this be Verizon Carrier locking the phone or is there an issue server side at Samsung?
The phone activated with no issues on Verizon's end, calls, messages, data all working fine.
i bought Verizon s10+ on samsung.com, it works fine with Freedompop, using ATT network.
I called Verizon. They say there should be no carrier lock regardless of how it was purchased. Guess I'll have to chat with Samsung.
I'm having the same exact issue on my new Verizon S10. Wanted to finish off my month of Google Fi before switching back to Verizon, but I get the same pop-up "Sorry, your device cant be activated on another carriers network right now." I've been on the phone for hours with multiple Verizon, Samsung, and Google Fi reps about this issue and no one has an answer.
Verizon has triple checked and confirmed that there are no carrier locks on my phone. Google Fi just pretends like the issue is that their service isn't "officially compatible" with the new S10 yet. And Samsung keeps telling me that Verizon needs to unlock my phone (even though it's unlocked and paid off). Verizon suggested that maybe it was a Google Fi issue too, so I tried my wife's AT&T and I get the same pop-up restricting other carriers. I even tried activating the phone on Verizon first with a brand new line, and then switching SIMs, but still the same pop-up.
I'm onto my last resort right now, which is to exchange my Verizon S10 for a completely unlocked S10. That isn't ideal since my intentions were to switch back to Verizon eventually, and I would be losing Verizon-specific features. I've never had this issue before, and Verizon tech support has never seen this issue before either. I have no idea what Samsung is doing on their end with these carrier-specific S10s. I'm even currently using a Verizon Note 9 on Google Fi, with absolutely no issues. Not sure if there is new software with these new phones, but it is extremely frustrating.
Same. Nobody knows whats going on.
I will use my S10+ on Verizon for a few days and try to swap the sim again maybe next week. See if somehow it updates on its own.

I tried my Google Fi SIM card again, and it still has the same pop up. "Your device cannot be activated on another carrier's network right now." You said you activated the phone on Verizon first though right? How many days did you have a Verizon line active?
The very first power ON was on Thursday around Noon with a T Moible SIM. The phone quickly rejected it and I installed the sim it came with. I messed around with it for a few hours until I gave up and just left the Verizon sim in it.
Today (sunday) I decided to try the T Mobile SIM around 4PM and noticed it was working so I posted an update.
So you actually paid the activation fee and had an active Verizon line on the phone first?
Yes I financed through Verizon.

How is your Note 9 on Google Fi? Was considering switching from T-Mobile to Find. Do you still get WiFi calling? What kinda of data speeds so you get? Sorry, off topic, but don't know anyone personally on Google Fi that doesn't have a pixel.
As an FYI... I purchased an S10+ in full, no payments on Friday morning from the Verizon store. I put my tmobile sim in later that afternoon and got the same message. I talked to tech support and they said it takes 48 hours from activation. He mentioned that they are doing this to prevent theft from store and from people buying/stealing them with out activating them and trying to sell them.
He unlocked it immediately while I was on the phone and I got a text message saying "when I insert a non-verizon sim in the phone it will be unlocked". I put in my tmobile sim and worked fine.
Makes sense why my device started to work after two days.

I talked to 3 different tech supports and they repeated told me all of the possible locks on my phone were unlocked...did you activate the phone first in the Verizon store, or did you go straight to a T-Mobile SIM?

Most of them don't know what they are talking about. I talked to many of them who said the phones were not locked, some said the phones are always locked which I clearly disputed as they don't know their own employers policies/information and read from scripts. The 333rd person I spoke with knew exactly what I was talking about lol.
I didn't activate it in the store, I did when I got home using the verizon sim. After, I put in my tmobile sim and got the message. I didn't want to wait 48 hours (what the first tech told me) so I kept calling until I finally got someone knowledgeable enough to know what I was talking about and he unlocked it while I was on the phone in 10 seconds.

Hmm thanks for the info. Guess I'll keep trying different tech supports. I wonder if they'll be able to unlock without activation at all. Otherwise I'll be paying $50 for a pointless line.
Yes. Verizon now sim locks phones for 24 hours after initial activation. iPhones included. Sometimes the older stock androids or iPhones will immediately accept another sim, but most times now, you have to wait a day. This has been going on since January as far as I've seen.

Sprint s7 SM-G930P boost mobile compatibility issue

Is there a reason why my sprint s7 (SM-G930P) wouldnt be compatible with boost mobile? I bought the s7 used but with the sellers help we had sprint unlock the network lock. But when the sim cards in it says carrier is at&t. And now, boost mobile tech support is telling me its not compatible. But its a sprint phone. About info says brand is sprint. Phone has sprint apps and sprint logo when starting up. Was used by original owner on sprint network/ phone plan. Talked to sprint tech support myself too have it unlocked (network lock). I had called boost tech support to check if i could hook it up before i bought it and gave imei number and was told yes. Now im 100 bucks to the wind which usually wouldnt be a big deal except i was laid off several days earlier. And now tech support constantly hangs up on me and wont put me through to supervisors. If someone could help me id greatly appreciate it
