In settings > security, allow installation of apps from unknown sources. Then follow the link below and download the apk file to your tablet, then open the file with any file explorer:

Looks like your connection isn't fast enough. Usually, retrying a few times does the trick.

You might want to remove all your Google accounts from phone and add them again.
Happens to me couple of times and works again fine as soon as I add Google account again.

New Tab 4 7.0 Waze APP Question

So I got a new Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 WiFi only but my car has hot spot built in so I connect the tab to the hot spot
This Tab is not a power house and I'm ok with that I just want to keep in my car for maps and navi and some other little things like that. But how do I run the Waze APP on it when I look it up in play store I get a not compatible with this device??? Any chance I can side load the APK if I root it?
Signed,
wazed and confused
Dont have to be rooted. Enable unknown sources in security section in settings.
Heres the apk. I just downloaded it on the s4 and uploaded. Put it on your sd card, navigate to it with file manager and tap it and press install
https://www.dropbox.com/s/egarifv38u0325n/com.waze-1.apk
Whether it works or not dunno. reviews on playstore have people saying because their tab has no carrier

You have to be rooted. Just download and install it on a rooted device and with a file explorer go to /data/app and all your free market apps will be there. Your paid apps are in /data/app-asec/ but their not in apk format. But if you use a app to back them up to sd card itll save them in apk format.

Try going into settings > apps (or application manager, whatever it's called) > all > Google Play Store and clearing data and cache.
Something else to try: in settings > security enable installation from Unknown sources, then go to apkmirror.com and download the apk file for the latest version of Google Play Store to your tablet. Open the file in a file explorer and let it install, maybe your play store is out of date

You should read this for example https://www.howtogeek.com/138500/th...g-incompatible-android-apps-from-google-play/
Maybe you have a location problem. It's not general about the hardware.

New Nvidia Shield can't load apks

Hey everyone, I just purchased tbe new released Nvidia shield and when I try to add an APK like downloader it says the system is not ready for it does anyone have any clues what's going on and how to add an APK? I was able to download Puffin but even using that apks will not install in the system.. Any help would be greatly appreciated
Did you enable allow apps from unknown sources in the Nvidia settings? By default you can only install apps from the Google Play Store or Nvidia's Game Store. Nvidia's permissions work similarly to an Android phone--you can't download an apk with Chrome and install it until you grant Chrome the permission to install apps from unknown sources. I think Nvidia has a toggle for allowing unknown sources in the security settings.
Try "Send Files to TV" apk from playstore. Install on both phone and shield and send apk from phone to shield and then install using any file explorer. Pretty easy
