Try going into settings > apps (or application manager, whatever it's called) > all > Google Play Store and clearing data and cache.
Something else to try: in settings > security enable installation from Unknown sources, then go to apkmirror.com and download the apk file for the latest version of Google Play Store to your tablet. Open the file in a file explorer and let it install, maybe your play store is out of date

It's not just for ICS. Try clearing the Google Market cache.
If that doesn't work, uninstall latest market update. It should update then.
easily visit apktops.com ...locate google play and download directly from their server .
use the QR code to download directly from ur atrix
i would not recommend downloading apks from sources other than google market/play store.
Inspiredwire and mobileweasel are right... go to settings > applications > manage then click on market then clear cache, exit and go to market again. if it doesn't work, see if you have market updater and clear its cache too.
when you run the market after clearing cache, give it time as it will download the update to play store automatically. tap "accept" if it asks, give it a minute then exit the market and the market icon will be replaced by the new play icon.
When I go to install an app from Google Play on my computer my Nexus 4 does not show up. I have tried running different ROM's but it still doesn't show up. I can install apps through the phone fine. Have tried clearing cache in google play services etc....
Any ideas?

1. From your tablet, head into Settings>Apps>All.
2. Search for Google Services Framework.
3. Once found, tap on it and choose “Force stop.”
4. Then choose “Clear data.”
5. Back out of Apps to your About page in Settings and check for the System update.
you might get errors while installing new apps or updating existing apps. In case you get those errors, delete all the Google accounts from your phone and configure them again.

I am using ROM "Dirty Unicorns". I'm guessing the kernel it came with. I will try flashing another kernel.
Try to delete Google play updates and Google play service. You can't uninstall play service natively so use 3rd apps.
Clear data on both, force close and wait until it update again/install latest apk version if you have backups.
Works for me.
This worked:
delete Google account
stop Google Framework services, clear data & cache
stop Google Play Store, clear data & cache
reboot phone
setup Google account
open Google Play Store on the phone
go to desktop browser and open Google Dashboard
open Google Play Store on desktop browser
go to my android applications, click on any of them
voilà

Could you all help me check the version of your google play store and services? I'm trying to solve the problem of my google play store not loading by trying to find & download the correct version of google play services for my S4 GT-i9506. Please post screenshots, thanks!
Settings > Application Manager > All > Scroll down and look for 'google play services' & 'google play store'
There's no need for anyone to check. Have you tried clearing the data from both the Play Store and Google Play Services then rebooted? If not, do so. If that doesn't work, uninstall the updates to both the Google Play Store and Google Play Services, then reboot. The Play Store will automatically reinstall the latest updates for your device.
I have installed miui 7 and play store (using aroma installer at this link. http://en.miui.com/thread-102282-1-1.html)
But whenever i try to install an app, even if i try to update google play services, i got the message 'insufficient storage' but i really do enough storage to install
Any fix ?
I've tried to delete cache of all google apps, still getting the same error. (install location is default auto(0) )
Thanks in advance
Hello,
1. Go to Setting > Installed apps
2. Find Google Play services and Uninstall it
3. Download Google Play services (.apk) following version 8.1.14 (2244331-346)
4. Install apk
And if tou need more information go to Miui thread thread

Maybe you're downloading something which is not available in your country.
If not, try factory resetting your device, might solve the problem.
But I do prefer try to download same apps on other devices like Samsung or Motorola etc., if you can download the apps from other devices and not from mi a1, you should visit service center once.
I have the exactly same problem, can't download anything vie mobile data on playstore. That happened right after installing december update :S

Agree, It messes up with GCM. ? that's why i asked him if he cleared it.
I know, I just explained it here and there - in various threads, because users are still doing such a stupid thing and then spam forum with complains.
anyone can solve this please
I solve mine by going to operators store and getting new sim card. Its' weird but it works. I had problem with my data only..
I have the same issue in Bahrain, only solution is to use a VPN and my Mi A1 is using the latest version of Android O.
UAE Mi A1 owner here, same issue just download APKpure, problem temporarily solved! been like this since 3-4 days for me.
LOL at the SIM card change thing.
jokes aside, I followed all the steps and wala, now the issue has gone away!;

"Hi All,
Thanks for writing back in.
To fix this issue, give these steps a try :
Force the Play Store to stop, and then clear data for the Google Play Store application (Go to settings Settings > apps > Google Play Store > force stop then clear data).
Clear cache for Google Play Services (Go to settings > apps or application manager > Google Play Services > clear cache > ok).
Clear data for Google Play Services (Go to settings > apps or application manager > Google Play Services > manage space > clear all data > ok).
Clear data for Google Services Framework (Go to settings > apps or application manager > under all, select Google Services Framework > clear data > ok).
Reset app preferences (Go to settings and then tap on Apps > tap the menu key (with 3 dots at the top right) on your android device. This will bring a pop up box with the Reset App Preferences option which should be selected. Tap on reset Apps option.
Remove your Google Account:
Open your device's settings app.
Under "Accounts," touch Google and then the account you want to remove.
Touch the menu icon in the top right corner of the screen.
Touch remove account.
Restart your device.
Add your Google Account:
Open your device's Settings app.
Under "Accounts," touch add account > Google .
Follow the instructions to add your account.
Let me know the progress.
Best,
Thompson"
