Does this affect my performance? Or how the cores handle the games? What's the difference between using Towelroot and the suggested way? I don't think I've noticed any issues but some slowdowns sometimes hard to tell if it's because I rooted though.

Hello! just got the S5 G900F with LTE i noticed a lot of lag and the device is not running smooth as my old Note 2 for example.. what could possibly be the problem? thanks in advance!
Never really had a lag problem but try debloating or flashing a debloated rom. There are methods that preserve knox warranty via odin if you're worried about that. Have a look around, I'm sure you will find what you're looking for. If you're on about games then thats that's due to crappy upscaling of the cpu, find a kernel with the ondemandplus gov or lower thenup thresholds on your preferred gov. Flashing a custom kernel WILL void knox! Good luck with lagwiz!!
Hi and thank you for answering
Currently using stock rom but my friend hasbthe octa version and never had any problems
It running smooth butter.
Iv disabled programs but the Ram usage is still too high which i belive can cuase laggish performance..

i'v changed it to OPO today and im happy
Hello, I have a problem with performance on Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 running lollipop on firmware.
I disabled some bloatware to get performance (and it helped a quite) and, using Greenify, hibernated some useless processes.
These are not making any problem.
I don't know why, but few 2D games stutters one time per 3-15 seconds. However, any 3D games like Modern Combat 5 have excellent performance.
In Developer options, force use GPU doesn't help very well (or other changes in it). S Voice isn't using home key.
However on GT-I9195 (S4 mini) these games were working perfectly smooth (excluding 3D games )
Clearing cache partition didn't helped. Even after factory reset and running only Geometry Dash or Super Hexagon these games still stutter as before.
What can cause this problem? Or somebody gets same performance issue?
Nobody got same problem? :/
Stock firmware? You're likely dealing with Samsung's DVFS. Find an app to disable it and see if that helps.
Thanks you for answer and an idea, however I haven't been going to root my device yet.
Then you'll just have to deal with the lag, as DVFS is baked into Samsung ROMs. Only by rooting can you eliminate the lag, either by using DVFS Disabler and Xposed, or using a custom ROM that doesn't have DVFS.
On my Nexus6, running non-encrypted was night and day performance difference. On the 6p I'm not really seeing any benefit. Benchmarks are about the same in antutu, geekbench, and androbench. However it "feels" snappier, but maybe that's placebo.
i'm encrypted and i notice theres lag and slowdown compared to my old oneplus, which shouldnt happen. i'm wondering if its because encryption is causing that and is there a way for me to disable encryption?

yes, you can disable. You need to run a boot image that supports it, and a rom that supports it. Your device will need to be wiped.
I upgraded recently and had my S5 (tmobile, rooted) sitting around and decided to using it for emulation gaming. Some emulators run really well (Reicast for example) while others have some serious issues. Speciifically, the PPSSP emulator is fantastic but many games have audio stuttering issues. I have tried some suggestions and will try some more (such as changing the governance of the CPU to performance) but my question is, can anyone suggest a specific ROM for getting the best performance out of the S5.? I am no stranger to custom ROMs, but I am having a hard time figruing out is there is one or some that would be particularly better for my setup.
Thanks.

Use a cm based rom. Flash boefella kernel over clock the cpu and gpu.nothing more can be done.
Hi guys,
I have purchased Note 4 recently and it seems to be heating in minimal tasks also like surfing the internet. i have flashed KITKAT, LOLLIPOP(default) and MARSHMALLOW but in all these firmwares the problem seemed to be consistent. Earlier i used snapdragon phone which was clocked at 2.3 GHZ and used to heat @ heavy games like No Limits, with recording on but this one is heating in angry birds itself. Though no lags are observed. I have not tried the Marshmallow version latest yet but some body told that latest update fixed heating issue. The root problem i see is its Processor clocked @ 2.7 GHZ, i mean this much we see in PC. I dont understand why they have gone so far. Now Samsung kernel must be clocked such way that on demand it bumps the frequency to max. This max i want to limit to 2 GHZ but without knocking down KNOX warranty. If some one has latest updated Marshmallow release and can confirm that it is indeed not heating please comment or tell me the solution to this problem, i really like this phone but hate when it heats. I am ok with slight lagging due to underclocking. i am willing to flash kernels with lower max frequency via ODIN. No custom recovery intended. Also i dont want to loose on warranty.
Thanks and Regards,
Really looking forward to solution

well i had the same problem in LP but with MM the heating problem is gone. You might have a defective device.
