Hello! just got the S5 G900F with LTE i noticed a lot of lag and the device is not running smooth as my old Note 2 for example.. what could possibly be the problem? thanks in advance!
Never really had a lag problem but try debloating or flashing a debloated rom. There are methods that preserve knox warranty via odin if you're worried about that. Have a look around, I'm sure you will find what you're looking for. If you're on about games then thats that's due to crappy upscaling of the cpu, find a kernel with the ondemandplus gov or lower thenup thresholds on your preferred gov. Flashing a custom kernel WILL void knox! Good luck with lagwiz!!
Hi and thank you for answering
Currently using stock rom but my friend hasbthe octa version and never had any problems
It running smooth butter.
Iv disabled programs but the Ram usage is still too high which i belive can cuase laggish performance..

Its not the ram its bloat. Even debloated my usage is quite high, normal linux behavior
i know the behvior of linux os yeah its normal but does "laggish" is normal too??
i'v changed it to OPO today and im happy

I recently flashed the newest Trinity Kernel on my Nexus 7. I still have the stock ROM. I tried to tweak the CPU settings with ROM Toolbox and the most I can overclock is 1400mhz. Why can't I overclock to 1600? Is it because of the stock ROM? I'm looking into Glazed Jelly Bean as a custom ROM but I'm not sure I want or need to use a custom ROM at this point.
Any suggestions?
Because he dropped the Max. You probably flashed A111 correct? That's a TSVZ meaning it is slightly over clocked and undervolted kernel meant for battery not for performance.

try a96, its one of my faves. it has a max of 1700mhz http://goo.gl/mLUCZ
Mildly on topic question ... do you notice any imporvments with overclocking? My first experience with overclocking as on my Hero, and then Galaxy S1, but this N7 just feels so fast i cant see overclocking making it any smoother? lol
thanks

Nice, ill have to look into rooting sometime soon.
Ok, I got the a96 and I've flashed it...
Is there a detailed changelog for each version? The a111 said it was a 1600mhz kernel so I don't understand why it was dropped down to 1400. That's where my confusion was.
I did notice some increase in speed at 1400. I was having some stuttering issues with Dead Trigger and Minecraft PE, and they were less with the 1400. I've got it running at 1600 now but I don't know what it will do to the battery or how well it will perform. I'll find out later. I've run through the battery pretty quickly today, but I was tinkering with it A LOT so it's not accurate.
What kind of tweaks could I do using Rom Toolbox that would help me maximize my battery while overclocking to 1.6?
Dont over clock.. i dont even see a need to. I use the ondemand gov which stutters a little but using interactive clears that up. Also using the CFQ IO as it is the stock IO used. Its stock so its gotta be good . Also you should turn F-Sync off that helps quite a bit. Also you could toggle auto hotplug and make it only run two cores while gaming and then turn it back on when finished so that way it will hotplug cores as it sees necessary. You could also up the voltages a little bit, some CPU's dont like the lower voltage and that will cause stuttering and glitching just up them by 25mV and see if it clears if not try another 25mV.
I will try those things, but I really want to play with overclocking and learn what happens. This is my first Android device so I'm experimenting and playing around.
But I have one more question...I've overclocked to 1.5...I found 1.6 to be the same as 1.5. But it seems that after an hour or so, it resets to 1.3. in ROMToolbox. Why is this?
Don't use rom toolbox. Use the Trinity app. It sticks just fine for me. Besides you support the dev to make better kernels.

ha!
youre not the first
Overclocking past 1.4 Ghz doesn't result in any major usability improvements. I've gone up to 1.7 Ghz and the only thing it does is make my tablet really warm and unstable. All you really need for improving system performance is I/O tweaks to speed up app and page loading, and a little bit of GPU overclocking to help with the transitional effects.
and, to be honest, depending which trinity kernel im using, im using either 1100 or 1150mhz mostly. on a111 im using 1100mhz and on a96 i used 1150mhz. with those speeds everything is still fast but a bit better on battery
Overclocking
If you want a little more information about the the overclocking if you havent already you might want to check out http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1788759 its the official thread of the trinity kernel for grouper.
Hi
Im currently running Paranoid Android with Nova Launcher plus homescreen widgets and a fairly simple live wallpaper.
Gaming is not that great, emulators run fine but games like NOVA 3 and Asphalt 7 are choppy.
Ive checked CPU-Z and my CPU usage keeps jumping from around 10% to 100% so I guess I have a problem.
I know I could just uninstall a load of stuff and get rid of a lot of my customisations, which Im sure would help, but while Im on this I may as well get the best ROM I can for gaming.
Ive read stuff about CPU and GPU throttling and undervoltage setting etc, and to be honest I dont really want to go messing around too much.
Is there are ROM that has been optimised for gaming? Or should I revert back to stock? Or stick with PA and clean out all the crap?
Please help, I just got myself a MOGA PRO and its excellent, but choppy frame rates in most games are a real pain!
Thanks
Nat.

I would think that the kernel would have more importance in gaming performance than the rom itself, try FauxKernal/Matrix kernel which has slightly overclocked gpu

Ever tried Trinity kernel?
No I haven't.
I would recommend faux or trinity, like above. Battery life sucks on heavy gaming though.

OK cool thanks guys I'm going to try a different kernel then.
What about my cpuz readings though? Is it normal for my cpu to keep jumping around even when idle?
i think CM is very good
Threre is no such thing as a best Rom, try some and see which best suites your needs.

I was wondering why the LG G2 scored lower in pretty much every single GPU benchmark compared to other phones with the Snapdragon 800? Is it something related to the GRAM?

I believe LG has made less memory available to the GPU than others, i.e. Sony. There maybe a mod at some point to change the balance, as this is probably a kernel thing.
since we are on the subject of kernels... if anyone cares to chime in... or point me to the right direction..
I did some experimenting today with stock and woots kernel..diff govs, temps, settings, etc..
The best speeds out of antutu I could get was 28500 with woots kernel... But yet I see everywhere with these phones getting 30-35000+...
What am I missing?
I ended up using interactive for my gov, bumped up the temps to 90/100 just to get 28000+
Using stock kernel and woots kernel using stock settings and on multiple roms I could never break 27500+ mostly got in the 22000 range.. I would also wait 15 minutes per benchmark to ensure my phone was cool...
Using carbon rom + woots kernel with interactive goc and temps bumped 90/100 can I only get 28000+...
kinda feeling bamboozeled! Did antutu put out an update that makes these achieve less benchmark numbers?

Huh are you running CM? if so that can be your problem... on my stock Telus G2 i get 35-36k antutu constantly. Any LG ROM gets me between 35-37k. With Woots kernel and stock frequencies for CPU and GPU (GPU overclock reduces benchmarks quite a lot) i still get between 35-37k for my phone
edit: just saw you are running carbon ROM... that is most likely the problem... I used another CM based ROM and could not go past 30k

I'm running my stock stock rom  I've rooted it and removed a lot of bloatware. All other custom ROMs are similar IMHO. Same performance but with different themes and stuff.

Haha no problem here's one of my scores i just got on Antutu
So my girlfriend just got a brand new g2 verizon, put antutu on it first thing, no roms, no updates, nodda.. got a 33,000 score. I just scored 30500 on my carbon rom with woots b2 verizon kernel intelliplug on, 90/100 temps, interactive gov, 1500 read ahead,
Seems like we are getting closer!!

Was just reading up that antutu cant be trusted for the g2 for benchmarking.
Going to redo them with 3dmark on my gfs new stock phone and my rom'd phone and post up shortly..
It just means stock is the best

I guess you are running Kitkat on your G2 right?
Idk what they did with this Stupid KK Update because it made the Phone Significantly slower
I got over 36k Antutu Score on the unmodded Out of the Box JB 4.2.2 rom and the Phone was Extremely Snappy and everything ran Smooth
Now since i use KK Roms (Stock,Modded ones etc) I get Lags nearly Everywhere
Even with a OC to 2,8ghz only up to 29k Antutu scores Blablabla
UI Redraws are also present..
The most annoying thing is that i get lags especially in games (Real Racing 3 and even some 2D games)
My D802 doesnt gets Hot or something but it really makes me Mad
EDIT:
I dont blame the Great Dev's i am sure LG messed up something

Hi guy,
My device is LG G2 Korean F320 which is correctly running on RR 5.8.3 ( Nougat 7.1.2 ) and my phone scores 50904 on Benchmark. What do you guy think about it?
Hello I just got my nexus 10 rooted and just put the latest ROM and kernel on it
My ROM choice was purity 4.4.1 and the KT manta 12-07 latest
My quadrant wont go over 5700 in quadrant standard
I've seen some of you guys get 9800 to 10000 how do ivdo that in trying as hard as possible to learn more about my nexus.
Feed me specifications tell me what you guys are doing and how to achieve a better rating
I can't even play dead trigger 2 of full graphics without lagging badly. Its really pathetic
What are brees75 tweaks
Hi,
It looks like you have a bad flash of something, I'd suggest you to reflash your ROM, remember to full wipe too! And probably this kernel isn't really compatible with the ROM you're using.
I can't tell you any kernel configurations because I'm enjoying it Stock Rooted, but maybe changing some may help too! Remember that Undervolt can lag your device, and bad overclocks too!

I'm rumimg the trinity kernel with rastacat 4.4.1 and my quad with art fsycn and 2000mhz is 11099
The only problem I'm having is apps are crashing such as fb and games. And if I take ART off I get crap battery life
Hi guys,
I have purchased Note 4 recently and it seems to be heating in minimal tasks also like surfing the internet. i have flashed KITKAT, LOLLIPOP(default) and MARSHMALLOW but in all these firmwares the problem seemed to be consistent. Earlier i used snapdragon phone which was clocked at 2.3 GHZ and used to heat @ heavy games like No Limits, with recording on but this one is heating in angry birds itself. Though no lags are observed. I have not tried the Marshmallow version latest yet but some body told that latest update fixed heating issue. The root problem i see is its Processor clocked @ 2.7 GHZ, i mean this much we see in PC. I dont understand why they have gone so far. Now Samsung kernel must be clocked such way that on demand it bumps the frequency to max. This max i want to limit to 2 GHZ but without knocking down KNOX warranty. If some one has latest updated Marshmallow release and can confirm that it is indeed not heating please comment or tell me the solution to this problem, i really like this phone but hate when it heats. I am ok with slight lagging due to underclocking. i am willing to flash kernels with lower max frequency via ODIN. No custom recovery intended. Also i dont want to loose on warranty.
Thanks and Regards,
Really looking forward to solution
