Cm 13 note 4 sm-n910c exynos - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

When cm 13 for the sm-n910c come out?
tnx

I'm relatively new at XDA but my guess is that there are two problems with your question:
- It is in the wrong section; should be on [Galaxy Note 4 Android Development (Exynos)];
- Many people in this forum consider these kind of questions annoying, if not rude to the developers;
The best you can do is to check cyanogenmod development section (http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=trltexx).

You are 50% correct
- Regarding the question you are dead on
But
-This is the correct forum. All hell would break loose if it was in dev forum.
There is actually a ROM in the dev area but it's no where to being usable yet. As far as working phone, wifi, etc

*POLL* - Merging Original Android Development and Android Development

Keep the thread alive and up guys.
Here are some very nice suggestion!
Hello community.
As you all know and see there two different thread
Original Android Development
Android Development
In this two thread you can find different ROMs.
Therefore it is in some cases difficult to distinguish in which thread a ROM have to be. Some DEVs (@ the Android Development) think they are at the wrong place but the Mods doesnt want to move their thread.
Please make here you choice if you want the old subdivision (only Android Development) oder if you like the new one (Original Android Development and Android Development).
It would be nice if you can leave here your reasons for your choice..
Uh quite nice!?

More splitting imo.
Kernels/roms(org/non)/radios/apps/themes
And a stricter policy on tagging threads in the tittle, eg [ROM][KERNEL] etc
Nice idea but i dont think that radios should have an extra thread. They can sty with kernels.
What do you mean with
roms(org/non)

org/non = original/non Samsung or original/non AD?

It is nice not seeing a 'new' rom being posted every two minutes where the only difference is the theme.
Perhaps the section titles could be a little bit clearer, For example: Android Development, and the other section called Themed Roms?
Id like to see even more splitting for ROM+Kernel and Kernel only releases, Its really a PIA sometimes to sort the threads out when your looking for something and it kinda scares off the newbie with a ton load of information and choices presented to him when his just looking for something specific.
Id say have a separate release for ROM+Kernel in 1 subforum and another for kernel only.

I think that tagging is very important, I prefer only one section, but with very stricted thread's TAGGING...
And I think that is very important explain the non-cosmetic changes in every ROM.
Regards!
Exactly, strict tagging, good references as to where the rom was based on, and credits where needed.
One thread.
only one Android Development
One forum for development, one for roms and stuff. I have no interest in reading about the majority of the problems people have in installing a ROM, but would be interested in seeing the technical threads (if we still have technical threads here...)
Merge the Development forums again and require [ROM] and a date in the subject.
Require all [ROM]'s built from another 'original' rom's sources to have [DERIVATIVE] or something like to identify them with a link to the source rom in the thread.
Pull [KERNAL]'s out to a second forum, again require a date.
Create a 'Technical' forum and move all the discussion, speculation and stickies that clutter up the other ROM forums into here.
Create new forum for non-android development (like Backtrack or potential Linux releases).
I would suggest using [KERNEL] instead

Even if they decided to split they shouldn't be partial. Why is villain and darky rom in original development? They both look similar to stock to me with some mods.

Personally, I like the idea of having a forum specifically for new ROMs. I can see the benefit of keeping modifications to ROMs in one forum and the real thing in another.

Not stock kernel for starters on VR and that's the core of it .

I like the idea of keeping photoshop roms separate from true developer roms like CM7.
Seriously, everyone who can use winzip and photoshop can make a rom and publish here, and from the looks of it, they do. It it were up to me, I'd actually not open a separate board, I'd delete them all.
As the creation of two separate dev boards was not motivated by any intention to make the forum easier for the user I'd have to say merge them back please. Seeing how it was motivated by greed and favoritism, indicated by the ROMs placement on one board or the other, I'd say screw this nazi maneuver, get your head out of your asses and realize you're all just tweakers and the ONLY REAL DEVELOPER IS SAMSUNG AND THE CM7 TEAM. So as the two forums are, only stock ROM and CM7 should be in the "real" dev forum. The rest of you take OTHERS work and tweak it (yes make it better etc etc, and we are all grateful for that). But come on you're not some super genius hacker dev here (and YES I appreciate your work and have donated but you are not "original developers"). As stated above this is about a "good ole' boys club", nothing else. Pathetic.

What's the difference between these two?

The Nexus 7 Android Development and Nexus 7 original development sub forums? I don't want to get a rom from the wrong place.

There's another thread that describes the differences, but I don't know where this thread is exactly...
In any case, there's no "wrong" place to get a ROM. For example, I prefer TeamEOS's builds, which are under Original (I think), but some people prefer other builds under Android Development. So you should probably just check under both categories
I was going to ask the same question, but didn't wanna bother people with a noobish question. But I'm used to the Evo 3d forums which seem to be a tad more hostile than the Nexus 7 forums, so I hang out here most of the time

New to the this forum.

Hi,
I've had a HTC Incredible S and just got a Google Nexus 4. This phone looks awesome already. I was wondering, what's the difference between 'Android Dev' and 'Original Android Dev'?
Thanks.

Welcome to the Nexus 4 section, @Incredible2011.
I have a little request in the beginning. Kindly, take your future questions to Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting.
Coming over to your query, here is the answer.
Android Development is a sub-section which comprises of ROMs/Kernels/Mods and tweaks which are not self-compiled or developed, or are usage of some other developer's work. It mostly contains Stock modified/tweaked ROM, Kernels and enormous minimal tweaks.
While, Original Development is a sub-section area where all the actual ROM/Kernel/Mod development goes. Everything that is worked out by the developer himself shall be posted there. You will find all the source compiled ROM/Kernels like CyanogenMod, ParanoidAndroid, AOKP, Franco's Kernel etc in this section.

Greetings from Spain
Nexus 4 community is getting bigger each day
Its good there are so many new members, just wished people would read and search more themselves instead of asking/posting even the most basic things. Read the stickies and the OP`s of the kernel/rom you want to flash. None the less welcome you all
Thanks all for clearing that up and for the warm welcome. I hope to be helpful in any way I can and hope to learn from you all!

Development for Z2 tablet

I have created this thread to prevent spamming the Android Development forum.

- AOSP for LTE (WIFI will follow according to the guys from FreeXPERIA)
So nothing is "dead".
The Z2 tablet is not a best seller, it is a high-end Android tablet with a very limited user base. Of course devices which have sold an order of magnitude more like the Samsung Galaxy S5 or the HTC One M8 attract more developers, but then look at the forums for the Galaxy S5 Mini, where there is hardly any development at all. Compared to such devices we do very well here.
I personally am glad that we have good developers supporting our tablet and a range of custom ROMs to choose from and I am thankful for the ROMs we have and for the work the developers spend in their free time.
Finally, this is XDA here - if you think there are too few ROMs here feel free to make your own one instead of alienating the developers we have by complaining about their work.

Hi,
Waoh !
OK, sorry... I take it all back.
Did not thought my post would suggest such vehement reaction.
In fact, what did I wrote ?
Simply that on the whole channel dedicated to "Z2 Tablet Android development" there has not been a single post in over 3 weeks...
Which makes me fear that development is not really alive for a device I really like.
Does it deserve such reaction ?
Maybe. But I beg to differ...
I am not whining, I am not complaining... I was just stating.
That makes a difference to me. Maybe not to you...

See, CM12 and Lollipop AOSP were updated just 2 days ago, on 2015-01-10. PAC was updated today, before it was updated on 2015-01-05. Yesterday, a new pre-rooted stock ROM for the SGP521 was posted.
Yet you ask if development is dead.
In my opinion, this is insulting the developers who do the work for us - for free, mind you!
I do not want to start a flame war or a non-technology-related discussion here. I merely want to point out that I do not share your view and that I am thankful for the ROMs we have.
Also I want to point out that I appreciate the work the developers do - we already have 'lost' a developer here in this forum who was alienated by some comments from certain members, and I think this shouldn't be repeated.
Hence I felt that I have to reply to your post to make the developers know that there are members on this board who do not share your view. Usually I simply ignore such posts to prevent spamming the forums, but I think your repeated complaints (no Apps2SD, no 4.4 AOSP, no new developments) warrant a reply.

you are both wrong, aosp daily builds are well, everyday, same with the official cm12 since, we get official, p.s. the current recovery in cm12 doesn;t flash, you have to downgrade the boot.img every time to the one from cm11 before updating

Best android 8.0 oreo rom for note 3 n9005?

I want to install oreo onto my note 3 but I do not know which rom to pick... I do want root though and stability and performance. Before when i tried to install android 7.1.2 rom i had a no sim card issue. Does this issue occur in android 8 roms ? And is there a way to fix it?

That ROM does not boot. It is best not to use it.
At the time of this writing, a working Android Oreo ROM does not exist for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (regardless of what variant it is). This question @spyroz540 asked seems very illogical, given the current circumstances.

This page is fake, lol
Samsung galaxy S4 modem gt-i9506 which have the same chipset as N3, does have Lineage 15.1 (Oreo)

There are some roms such as RR which are compatible with both devices. Maybe someone can adapt this rom to N3.

lineageosroms.org is not a fake site, neither is that upload,
its just experimental builds that may or may not boot, major difference
so if you look for the first burps of any dev you may legitimately find it there, if its any good is case and device dependent
Aa, okay, okay.
Sorry my bad, i thought that since Galaxy S4 has Oreo already, that the Note 3 would also have it. I apologize.
