If you are an orange customer you can cancel your orange contract as they are changing there terms and conditions. Just need to call and say you want to terminate because of terms and conditions changes and say you recived a text message (which shud have been sent to everyone but i didnt get one). They will try and talk you out of it but cannot keep you on. There are no fee's and you can keep your phone. Once cancelled feel free to take out another contract. Only valid for a couple of weeks so hurry. If this saves you money which it will feel free to donate for my advice. pm me thanx
Orange are making this difficult now after taking legal advice.
See here:

Unfortunately this is old news ... loads of threads around XDA on this subject.
But for those that don't know ..
Orange sent all their subscribers a text (mine was on the 27th) basically saying your Ts & Cs have changed and details are available on their website.
Most people would ignore this but there is a lengthy thread on Money Saving Expert http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/...html?t=1825687 that details everyones experiences.
In brief Orange changed the contract so you are entitled to cancel.
At 3pm yesterday (Friday) the legal team at Orange said that the clause did not apply to those who could not show the effective changes in the previous three months i.e. going over their allowances or dialling 0870 numbers.
I suggest that anyone wishing to take advantage of this 'opportunity' reads all the threads on MSE before phoning Orange as there are some things that you can do in advance to assist your cause ;-)
If you still want to donate for old news feel free.
MODS PLEASE CLOSE THIS THREAD.

I have found out through several posts and news articles that wifi calling as of yesterday is now free. It does not count towards your minutes anymore. To enable it, you have to call or chat. From my personal experience, the reps are NOT trained on this yet. They will tell you that your full of it. Force them to look into it, and they will find whatever it is in there little knowledge base that tells them that it is the truth. After fighting with Jake on Tmobile chat for the past 20 minutes, he finally found it and has enabled it on my account. I have read similar experiences.
This post is to let you know that it is REAL. You HAVE to contact tmobile to have it activated. Post your experiences so that maybe it will help the next person who has to call and deal with a rep that knows nothing of this subject.
EDIT: SOME TIPS
Apparently speaking to someone in billing is the way you have to go.
Alledgedly it is reported you must have the Even More or Even More Plus plans.
Doing an online chat has had a higher success rate of the rep actually doing there job and looking it up vs. a phone call.
Michele: I have also heard through the grapevine that wifi calling is now free and does not count against your minutes, but i have to specifically ask for it. I would like to do that please.
~Jake H: Unfortunately that is incorrect.
Michele: Alright i can send you multiple links from all over the web of people who have called/chatted and got the feature turned on.
Michele: Not to mention the tmobile press release stating so.
~Jake H: Though wi-fi calling is an option on some phones it does still go towards your minutes.
Michele: But go ahead
~Jake H: Please allow me 5 minutes to review our news archive to see if it was updated with out my knowledge.
Michele: This change just happened yesterday. I have read that many reps are not even aware of the change and have not been trained on it yet.
Michele: thank you sir
Michele: Please understand that none of my animosity is directed towards you personally jake.
~Jake H: I understand Michele.
~Jake H: I've found some information about what you are stating. I reading it right now.
Michele: Take your time sir
~Jake H: I have found that feature.
Michele: Alright
~Jake H: Would you like me to add it to both phones?
Michele: Yes please

it doesn't matter.
Most ppl are going into the Unltd calling PP anyway.
Here in Puerto Rico, I can have all unltd with roaming all over USA, for $74.99, That's $5 cheaper than T-Mob USA. (That's single line, for 2 lines it would be $69.99 for unltd talk [+ $34.99 for unltd data and unltd sms/mms] so basically, for $70 all together[for one of the 2 lines] I can get everything unltd).
I have 600 anytime minutes, and everything else is unltd.
Incoming, mobile2mobile, weekends, nights. So I pay $64.99 for those 600 mins, unltd data and unltd sms/mms.
So, yes...it is good that Tmo is offering this new srvc, it really doesn't affect me.
I wasent able to get it. The rep refused to even look it up for me. Can you please give me a link on tmobile that says they will do it?

It's obviously real.
Oh i know its real. But they straight up refused to go look it up for me. They asked. "What are you sources?". And i listed Engadget, gizmodo, boy genius report. and all they said was. "Well those arnt official sources and probably arnt true".

Hell ya linkmaster. The actual tmobile press release I BELIEVE was leaked, and not supposed to be publically available. So i dont think you could actually use that as a source. I do find it kind of crummy that they are making people jump through hoops to get this instead of just making it automatic for everyone... that's not usually t mobiles style. Maybe in time it will be and they are just rolling it out for people who specifically ask for it.
This is what I copied into the chat window when they told me I was full of it...
Currently, placing calls over Wi-Fi deducts from a customer’s in-plan minutes. Effective5/13, a new feature will launch that will allow customers with capable phones the ability to place calls over Wi-Fi without deducting from in-plan minutes! This is not only a great value, being FREE, but can help customers who experience coverage issues in areas that Wi-Fi is available.
This new feature is available to all Even More and Even More Plus Postpaid rate plans for customers with Wi-Fi Calling capable handsets.

And then said "So are you not aware of this?"
They asked me, "Where are you getting this information?"
Me, http://www.tmonews.com/2011/05/t-mobile-unlimited-wi-fi-calling-feature-going-live-tomorrow/
"They have an internal document that states this"
The next response I was givin was "please give me 2 minutes to look up this information"
Afterwards, I'm assuming she spoke with her supervisor cause I had absolutely no problems getting the feature added to my account after that...
Hope this helps you all putting those lazy CSR's in their place!
called and the rep said that it was already a feature and that she did not have to activate it for me ... i then replied are you sure??
she proceeded to tell me that she was well informed regarding free wifi calling.. i told her to note that on my account because i will be using this to place calls and any minutes counted towards my plan will be credited back to me....
take it for what it's worth...
FYI: family plan even more
update: seemed fishy... chatted online and the rep told me there was no such thing... blah... i'll try again later

Apparently you gotta get someone who is willing to do the legwork and look it up. It's obviously not in there main system and they have not been trained about it whatsoever. I kissed ass to my rep for a good 10 minutes about other issues before you see the chat conversation i posted above. Maybe that helped.

You have been connected to _Nikolai B.
Astriaos: I'm seeing lots of talk online about the rollout of unlimited wifi calling and was wondering if it is going to be automatically activated for all customers.
_Nikolai B: Hi A , welcome to T-Mobile live Chat. I’m _Nikolai and I will be happy to assist you. Please give me a moment to review your question.
Astriaos: take your time
_Nikolai B: Thank you.
_Nikolai B: Currently at this time, we as T-Mobile do not have that information. There has been a lot of talk about the wifi but as of now unfortunately nothing is set and stoned yet.
Astriaos: yeah i kinda figured. Most all the rumors I've seen can be backtracked to this article http://www.tmonews.com/2011/05/t-mobile-unlimited-wi-fi-calling-feature-going-live-tomorrow/
Astriaos: but you guys can't substantiate leaked internal documents, I understand.
_Nikolai B: Correct that is one one of the documents. Basically on our end, we receive notification when that will take place and if it will and things like that.
Astraos: so essentially you just haven't gotten the memo from the head office as to if/when this will be rolling out for really real.
_Nikolai B: Correct.
Astriaos: I gotchya. I was just curious cause i have the only phone at my place and this would really help keep me from shattering through my minute limit with three people using the phone.
_Nikolai B: I completely understand.
Astriaos: Cool well thanks for the information man. I appreciate your candor.

This is the second rep I've spoken to about this but since I am bored and have nothing to do I am going to keep hammering away at this & see if anyone says any different.
Edit: SUCCESS~! You need to get an online rep in "Billing and Plans"
~Barb N: Welcome to T-Mobile Chat service A. My name is Barb N and for your reference my rep ID is 1320337. How are you doing today?
Astriaos: I'm great thanks!
Astriaos: Yourself?
~Barb N: I am very well thank you.
Astriaos: Delightful.
Astriaos: I've been hearing a lot of talk lately about unlimited wifi calling & was wondering if I can get it activated on my account.
~Barb N: I will be happy to discuss our free WiFi calling feature with you. May I ask what type of phone you are using?
Astriaos: HTC g2. Wifi calling works already and is turned on. However I am specifically talking about this: "Currently, placing calls over Wi-Fi deducts from a customer’s in-plan minutes. Effective5/13, a new feature will launch that will allow customers with capable phones the ability to place calls over Wi-Fi without deducting from in-plan minutes! Astriaos: can you help me in this matter? I've spoken to a couple of reps already who are generally stating that they have gotten no internal documentation on this feature.
~Barb N: Yes the free WiFi calling feature was released today and allows you to make calls over WiFi without using your plan minutes. I will be happy to add the feature to your account for you.
Astriaos: Thanks! I really appreciate it.
Astriaos: Will I get a text confirming this change to my account?
~Barb N: I have added the feature to your line and you will receive a text message conformation within 2 hours.
Astriaos: Excellent you're super duper. Thank you so much, I'll be forwarding this good news along to XDA along with your refID. You've been super helpful. have a great one!
~Barb N: Thank you for chatting in today. I hope you have a great weekend.

Alright well there you have it. Just make sure you're talking to a plan and billing rep rather than one an unrelated department.
The feature is NOT automatically enabled!!
You can use WiFi Calling whenever you want but they HAVE to add the feature for you to use it for free.
Just because they noted it into your account does not mean you will have those minutes credited back to you.
I would advise you to call back or start up another chat with them and get them to enable the feature because you WILL be charged minutes and you WILL have to pay for them.
Refer to my previous post to obtain the information you need to get them to feel stupid for being lazy...
So far, there has been at least 2 of us (including myself) who have had a rep enable the feature for us. It can be done because it has been done (obviously)...
I have added some of the tips you guys have mentioned into the OP. Hopefully it will save someone some time

Linkmaster_6: I have a t-mobile G2
~Matthew S: Excellent! This is indeed a Wi-Fi Calling capable device. I can certainly add this feature to your account. Before I do, I need you to confirm your E-911 address (where you would typically like Emergency Services deployed were there ever such a need; I certainly hope there is not).
Linkmaster_6: You mean like my address?
~Matthew S: Yes, that is correct.
Linkmaster_6: Oh ok
Linkmaster_6: my home address blaa blaa blaa

call 866-895-1099 its the automated activation line, it will activate the correct IMEI and SIM on your plan, activate any new features you selected(if applicable), add insurance to the device if you chose it at purchase. Otherwise everything is still incorrect based on your old phone. After the call your current sim will go dead, use the one that came with the phone.

What kind of answer is that!!!??? I'm not stupid, its not like I switched from a dumb phone to a smart phone...... and what features? Why would I change anything if I'm on the unlimated data plan? I change phones almost every 6 months or so and even with upgrades never got this message.

Anyways...even if you did change something you wouldn't need to activate for the changes to occur...its pretty much so Att gets the imei and all that sorted out I believe...thy link the phone to your number on your account

Please don't get hostile, but it is a really, really good idea to properly activate your new phone through AT&T and also to take the new SIM card. But instead of the automated system like I used, I might recommend calling through to an agent/CSR.
I had concerns about my unlimited plan as well, and noticed that if I were to activate, it would likely remove the unlimited H+ plan in favor of a 3gig LTE plan. I called a couple different times about this, and they said that everything would be alright, and they noted the account that they told me this. Shortly after activating it, I noticed that it did indeed make the switch on me, and that I suddenly had a 3GB data limit on this line. I called back, and they said that this was necessary to be able to pre-order the device, and it was not giving them the option to put it back. They put in a ticket and gave a "it will be fixed by this date" date. About a day and a half later, I got a text saying they corrected the issue. I checked online, and my account was back to normal.
I'm 90% sure that if I had called to activate my phone manually with an agent, they could have spared the unlimited plan from the get-go. I would recommend calling and talking to an agent, such that they can mark the order as complete/received and they can enter the new IMEI and ICCID numbers.
Further, there's a small, non-credible amount of evidence that suggests that the newer SIM cards and a proper activation will yield better network speeds. I don't see how, apart from some sort of throttling implemented by AT&T for "everyone else".

While this is true, they don't automatically update their billing system and other records - or at least not right away. I work with about 110 AT&T lines at work, mixed between crackberries, "feature-phones" and iPhones. I've noticed that while a new phone will work, but the website will still show the old IMEI number until we manually update it.

Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Mhm...definitely strange. I have heard of that scenario as well from some of customers. First off if your getting a call saying that they awarded you some money of your bill thats a lie. Two...if anyone calls you saying that they can save you money on your verizon bill then that could be a local verizon account rep your speaking with. However if that turns out to be the case they will normally attempt to set up an appointment with you to come in to a local store so they can do an waa with you (wireless account analysis) to see what can be done on your account to see if they can help you save a couple bucks a month, see if you have any available upgrades and etc. Three...if they are not directing you to a local store then thats extremely fishy. 4. As far as blocking spammers from calling you without using a app would really depends o what device you currently have. I have a note 3 and it provides exellent call blocking, text blocking and etc features. Which device do you currently have?

How can I add a line with unlimited data?
Sent from my SM-N900V using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Verizon no longer currently offers a unlimited plan to new lines of service. The only way you can have the unlimited data plan currently is by a having grandfathered in or b talking to a friend or family member who has a line that with the unlimited plan that they will be willing to give up to you through the means of assumptions of liabilites meaning if they would be willing to give up the line to you...you then can take over that line of service and put it under your name. However by doing so they will run your credit again to see if your aproved to take over that line. Also added benefit in doing so is that wherever that person left off in their contract would be where you would continue off from. By taken over the line ut does not require you to restart the contract of that new line you just took over and put underneath your name.

Can we please keep the ability to root the device? I feel that a Locked Bootloader, even though not ideal, is okay as long as Verizon keeps the device relatively updated. (Or to put in other words, I don't think that Verizon would ever allow the bootloader to be unlocked).
But without root, there are a lot of features that Samsung have removed (such as the ability to add Widgets to the lock screen when it is locked) and wouldn't be accessible to us even though it is available to most other android devices. Same with backups.
Ive heard talks about this petition to unlock the bootloader for the note 3 but to be honest ive not heard any confirmation or caught any wind of verizon actually doing that. And yeah I see what your saying. And I can add lockscreen widgets to my note 3 without root.

If the replacement has issues what are the chances of getting a brand new device?? I haven't had the best luck with refurbished replacement. And are the certified refurbished replacement really refurbished?? I mean the phone hasn't been out a month yet.
I live in an area with the worst service for Verizon. I never receive calls or texts. My only option is a network extender. Is it possible to get one for free? I spent $400 on this phone and now I'm locked down for 2 years. I don't wanna spend another $300 to use the phone I just bought. -_-

@Southern mind im sorry about the problems your having with your find. As far ar you getting a new device your chance might be 65% id say since the device is still new. How many fully refurbished phones can corporate really have so far since the phone just came out? Its not even been a momth yet since the phone came out.

And since the phone just came out that certified refurbished device may not really be one. Could be brand spanking new

@eurofeik hey bud. And the coverage within your area is that bad? What type of device do you have by the way? Is it a 3g device or a 4g? For the price you said you spent on the phone am guessing you probably have a 4g device if so thats strabge your signal is that bad because normally with our 4g devices the technology increases in building penetration, voice quality and reception. Also what area do you live near? So I can look furthermore in to details for you? And I cant promise you that they will give you one for free but have you also tried calling customer care and seeing what they say?

The problem you're facing that you don't realize yet is that the IMEI could be good on the device now, but be blasklisted later after you buy it.
The scam is that a guy buys a phone on a post paid plan, makes the $99 down payment or whatever he has to in order to get it out of the store, buys the insurance protection against it, then sells you his phone.
A month later he reports his S4 stolen, the carrier blacklists what is now your device, and the insurance company sends him a new one for the $150 deductable or whatever the case is. All told he spends about $275 in up front costs and deductables and gets a brand new S4 worth $600. And you get screwed.
So be VERY careful buying a phone that could still be under warrenty.
..........also who doesnt keep the box and receipt.
