I've been looking for a stock firmware to unroot my sprint samsung galaxy s6 edge plus (US) back to originality. I tried the whole root but i didnt find myself needing it to be honest. So i would like to change it back to keep the warranty and yeah!
I cant find it for model number G928P only for G925P!
Any help? Also i didnt do backup since the phone didnt have much worth backing up!
Could i perhaps restore the phone to defaults in hopes that it will go back to unroot privileges?
Im sure you might be able to find a nandroid backup somewhere.
But you are aware you CANNOT return your phone to factory now that you've rooted? You would have tripped KNOX while flashing and atm there is no way to restore this
1. Download kies3
2. Inside kies there is a reset option, it will ask you for model and s/n
3. Enter "SM-G928*" where * = the carrier letter. T for TMO for example.
4. Get in the download mode menu on your phone, DO NOT enter download mode.
5. Hit home button for your s/n
6. Copy it down, and enter download mode.
Hit enter and it will be stock in no time.
EDIT: hahaha man you should read before you just go doing stuff with your phone. Yeah you tripped Knox buddy, that warranty ain't coming back. But that's just manufacturers warranty. Your phone can still be replaced by your carrier for your insurance fee.

I need to send my phone back to vzw and obviously need knox counter at 0,0
IDK if the root tripped the knox, IDK. how to find the knox counter. I went into odin mode, but it didn't show anything.
Any help here would be great. Thanks
Where would the knox counter show? It doesn't say anything about knox when I put it in odin mode, does that mean knox hasn't been tripped? I factory reset the phone, now the custom lock on the boot screen is gone, it all says official, but it still wont download the ota and it still says it's rooted through root checker.

Go here and download the stock NI2 tar and flash it in Odin. Just follow the instructions and all will be good after that. For good measure do another factory reset from the settings menu before you do the tar flash. This will remove any root files and restore you back to stock. From the sounds of it Knox has not been tripped so no worries there.

Thank you for your reply. My problem right now is the charging port has become defective. I was charging it like i always do, removed the cord, then went back to charge at a later time and now from the looks of it, some metal piece as been pushed up, preventing me from sticking a cord into the port. So I can't hook the phone up via usb....
I'll post pictures of what odin screen looks like, etc and tell me if that will be good enough to send back without them catching it. Again, after factory reset, the custom lock was removed from the boot screen, and everything went back to official, but it wont download ota and when checking root checker, it says it's rooted.

I doubt knox has been tripped, towelroot won't do that. I would say your OK because the custom padlock is gone but it's hard to say what Verizon will check and do. Obviously rooting has nothing to do with the charger port breaking so me guess is they won't reject the repair. If they do ebay sells them for about $15.00 and you might be able to repair it yourself.

Not a repair, a replacement. Which means if they find anything wrong with the software, they can charge $300?

Are you able to shut the phone off and GENTLY use a small screwdriver or knife to move the metal piece out of the way? I had the same issue with a phone of mine and doing this fixed it.
Sent from my SM-G900V using XDA Free mobile app
I tried moving the metal piece with a #0 screw driver. Didn't work.
I almost want to see if I can remove the back of the case and bend the metal piece down so that I can unroot it but idk if there's a way they can tell I removed the back?
I'll have to YouTube it.
I was able to wiggle the connecter into the port. Now I need to find info on unrooting.
edit: And after more google xda searches, I found out that SuperUS has a remove root option in its settings. After using root checker basic, the root has been removed, and I was able to take the OTA.
schweeet. I think I'm good to go here. I never flashed a custom rom, and I heard that towelroot doesn't trip knox, but I would like to see what an odin mode screen looks like with a tripped knox counter, to compare to mine. I'm 99% sure I'm good here though.
Thanks a lot guys.
Hello guys, please make sure you activate OEM UNLOCK in the developer options before you root your Android device with FRP installed. otherwise you risk to get into a bootloop after trying to boot into recovery due to FRP blocks custom binaries
have u tried using kies and using tools/firmware upgrade and putting your model number in and flashing with stock ? have you tried using odin and doin the same ?

I am downloading the stock ROM now it takes a while. But how the hell can google tell me what i have to install and wehat not when i paid the phone? I am so pissed, its unbelievable. **** google and **** Samsung for letting this assholes do this.
Ok KIES does not even recognize my phone. The mworse is, it would start if it would not try to start into recovery. is there any option to remove the "recovery bit" or something like that and make the phone start normal and not into the recovery? That is my problem.
k now it is definately bricked, after i triedto flash a stock rom it says an error ocurred while recovery an i shall use smart switch but smart switch says unsupported device, i can not believe thishappened because of a google feature which no one asked for and they brick a device i bought for 800 bucks
OK FIXED, i had to flash via ODIN the Origin ROM, in my case the phone came from Italy and the Provider was TIM, it took me 7 Euro to download at Sammobile full speed and got it in 5 minutes.
Can be closed
I am in the same situation. I tried using the Recovery method with smart switcher or ODIN to flash the stock firmware but I am still stuck in a boot loop. I cannot access recovery at all and cannot install as the lock protection is on. Any other suggestions? I wasn't trying to root my phone it just decided to shut off and not boot up again.
this is quite concerning as i purchased my phone from Amazon Italy as it was cheaper than anywhere else but i was unable to root despite following the steps but i discovered it was because of the FRP, but i don't want a situation like this to happen, any more tips would be good, preferably without having to spend money from sam mobile too.

Im having the same problem. I can only access the download menu on the phone and all of my many attempts to flash or recover it failing with the phone saying "custom binary (recovery) blocked by FRP lock". I only know a limited amount about the rooting scene but if anyone could post a rom or something that would fix this or a method to remove the lock even with the smallest chance of success I definitately would give it a try(maybe a step by step as well please ) . Again there is no way i can see how to access anything on the device. My phone is the SM-G928W8 from Canada with Telus. Anything is worth a shot so if you have any ideas id love to hear them, thank you everyone :fingers-crossed:

YOu need to find a stock ROM, this will be the hardest part. AFter you have it, flash via ODin and the problem will be solved, i had the same problem. But you have to hurry because FRP also locks the charging of the battery so once you run out of battery you need to bring it to a technician.

Check if you have the right stock ROm, it needs to be exactly the same country and provider. There is unfortunally no other way to remove FRP but booting the phone and remove the google account

Is it true that the battery doesn't charge after it's FRP locked? So the missing W8 firmware even if it comes eventually when the battery is dead the phone is dead? How in the hell are we supposed to fix this with no firmware available on sammobile?! Is there really no other way? Who has the firmware? Do the carriers have it?

The battery is not locked (as far as I can tell), my phone got the lock when it was fully dead and while I was charging it and it seemed to have a charged battery after I unplugged from charging for awhile but there was no actual way to check. As for the firmware you will just have to wait for it my friend, that is the same firmware I needed and as of just now they still don't have it available on sammobile. Sorry man and best of luck
Needed? Did you end up getting the phone fixed by someone or send it back in to Samsung?
No I didn't get it fixed I sent it back to the phone company and paid a small fee rather than waiting for the firmware to be released.
Who was your phone company? I'm wondering because I can't seem to find anyone to help. I even contacted the local Samsung service center who deals with Telus and they told me that they could replace the mainboard but woudlnt flash the firmware or otherwise fix it. So that was rather useless I'm essentially buying a new phone.

Absolutely right, if the battery runs out, you are lost. Then you have to bring it to the Samsung Service, they will fix it for you, if you pay of course..because KNOX will be void. The only way to avoid this is to remove your google account from the phone or enable under Developer Settings the OEM UNLOCK. Then FRP is disabled. But if you forgot and are now in a bootloop you have a real problem because as i have seen the W8 Firmware is not available on sammobile.

My battery ran out but the phone is actually still working. When I plug it in via USB it powers up. It doesnt' actually charge the battery, but this will work for Odin. Now I just need to find someone to dump the stock firmware for me...
Any updates on a firmware?
If you need to go to stock then have you tried to boot I to download mode and use smartswitch reinstall feature?

I have same Problem as all of you but haven't fixed it yet because I still haven't found right ROM but if you have wireless charger it will force charge!! ??
I have a Verizon S5 that currently has g900VVRU1B0A8 on it.
Recently the screen has started flashing green and not coming on whrn the power button is pressed.
Im not sure if this is hardware or software so I factory reset it and the issue is still there, maybe not as frequent though.
Do you think it would do any good to upgrade it, can i just odin a new firmware on now, as long as im not going backwards?
If this is a stock factory phone that has never been rooted I would venture a guess that your phone is failing from a hardware standpoint. If it is still under warranty I would replace it before trying any rooting/flashing ... If you want to root it however, DO NOT take the OTA upgrade. That will put you on the latest build but you will not be able to go backwards and root it after taking the update. The version you are currently on can be rooted. And no, you can not just flash a new firmware. If you want to root, you have to follow the steps in the rooting threads and revert back to NCG first to root. Don't flash anything without reading everything thoroughly and understanding what you are doing BEFORE you flash anything.
Oh, its been heavily screwwed with, used to be mine but i gave it to my wife.
Knox is tripped and it says custom on boot.

Just because it says custom on boot doesn't really mean knox is tripped. All my earlier root versions said that without being tripped. Download the Samsung phone info app from the play store. Run that and if knox says 0x0 it is not tripped. It doesn't really matter though if the phone is out of warranty.
hello guys,
sorry for the bad english hope everything will be clear.
so i got my new phone 4 -5 month ago.
and my friend rooted it for me (mainly cus of the pokemon go hack), i didnt know the actual risk of rooting so i let him.
when i stoped playing pokemon go and found that that rooting ur device will remove the warrenty from my device i wanted to unroot it.
so i restore to factory settings thinking that it will remove the root, only like a week later i have read that restore to factor settings dos not remove root
so basicly now i want to unroot my phone so it wont cus demage to my warrnty.
i dont know much abut how he rootted my iphone i know he used a youtube video named: Pokemon Go Cheat/Hack for Android - Use a Joystick, WORKS on v0.35.0! ( new users can add links so i coulnt add a link to the youtube video but if u copy and past the youtube video name u could get to the actual video)
and on the descrition it sais This cheat/hack requires an Android device with root & Xposed installed. so im guessing this is what he did.
also i want to note that when useing root checker app it sais - sorry! root access is noy proberly installed on this devices
pleas could u guys help me with guides and tuturials on how to unroot my phone after it has been reset to factory settings so my warrenty wont go off its a new phone =D

With 3rd party insurance, which is usually cheaper anyways, they don't care about KNOX... In fact, Protect My Bubble didn't even make me send back my phones.... So to hell with Knox flag trips and get some better insurance.

ok and regarding the fact that root checker sais its not rooted but when u look on the download details it depfenatly suggest its rooted..
what to do to fix that?
Once rooted its irreversible
Your bootloader is unlocked. This is not reversible, and voids the warranty. No way back i'm afraid. You can certainly remove root from your phone. Thats what i did, to be able to use ota´s. In your case this does not matter though, your warranty is still void.

how do i safly remove the root cus i'v heard odin thing is very risky and if something goes worng the phone can get ****ed up
actually, using Odin is very safe. Just follow instructions very carefully, make sure it's for your model number and double check. Go to www.sammobile.com, go to the 'Firmware's' section., type in your model number and search for your country's firmware and download.
Install USB Mobile phone driver. Get Odin. Go into your phone's settings and turn 'ON' USB debugging. Plug your phone to PC with a good quality cable, preferably the one that came with your phone. Don't plug into a USB hub though. Go into Odin download mode (volume down, Home + Power buttons). When you got the BLUE ID:COM box lighted up, it means that it can read your phone so your drivers are all good. Then click on the AP button, browse for the file you got from Sammobile (remember that it must be the same Model as your one ok, any country is fine, just make sure that sm-g935F is for sm-g935F etc). click Start. it should reboot a few times itself and when it says Done, your phone should boot into Android and you go through the setup all over again, losing all data in the process, but you will have a brand new unrooted, error free phone that can get updates OTA. True, your Knox counter will still say 0x1 void, but most warranty don't check that. As long as it says 'Official' which you will have once you flash the stock firmware. hope this helps...
Hi all,
I tried searching for it here and in other sources but couldn't find anything that would help since this is an unlocked version.
I am not getting any updates or the Android 10 update and its already end of February, is this normal?
FYI the phone was purchased unlocked in the US but I'm living in Jordan.
Give it a check whether your device does actually get any updates using Frija here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/s10-plus/how-to/tool-frija-samsung-firmware-downloader-t3910594/
Just need to find the correct CSC.
If there is a new firmware it means your device some how couldnt get OTA to work properly. you may wanna check whether your device's knox is void.
All how-to mentioned above can be found in xda.

So I checked it on Frija as you said and it turns out there is a software update (Android 10) for my phone. The problem is that I got some updates after purchasing but now it is stuck on November security update. Do you recommend I wait for an OTA or maybe flash it manually?

Lets go with some more checks to make sure your phone is still OTA-able
1. Manually check for update: go to Settings -> Software Update -> Download and install see if you can get any updates. If you are on a VPN or proxy, try without it just in case the update server somehow gets blocked (doubt that. but... lets give it a try)
2. Go to download mode: Vol down + Bixby + Power combination and check the Knox status. if your knox is intact you should see something like Warranty void 0x0. If its 0x1 then your Knox is void and this is permanent Samsung makes sure of that. Unless you get a mainboard replaced, i dont think you are able to get OTA working again.
3. Use Samsung SmartSwitch on PC (with your phone connected) see if it can update your phone, the "official" way.
3b. Or try flashing a latest stock firmware, again, stock firmware, with Odin. you must use the HOME_CSC... not CSC... to keep existing apps and data. Then wait for the next update see if OTA works.
Flashing a stock firmware should not void your Knox nor cause any problems. Just be careful of the risk of losing exising data.

Hmmm then maybe i was guessing wrong the whole time. maybe theres nothing wrong with your phone. its your unlocked (unbrand) us. normally carriers (brand ones) would be pushing updates faster. maybe you will need to wait for samsung to push the updates for unbrand phones, which could be usually slower. am not sure.
maybe you might wanna go with the flashing option. you using stock firmware so there shouldnt be any risks and would be pretty easy do to just follow the steps.
sorry i wasnt helpful enough mate
Edit: just wanna share 1 more thing i been suffering with latest update. if you upgrade to 10 and one ui 2.0, android (and/or samsung) has completely blocked using custom fonts. gxfonts wings or other theming apps no longer works with changing fonts. so if you re using custom fonts it will survive the update just make sure you dont change it or you will lose it. am almost abt to give up knox to go root now.

Thanks a lot mate, you've helped by showing me that there's nothing wrong.
As with any update there are always problems, so considering to just keep waiting for the OTA for now, it's not like there are new features in it, Samsung already have everything you could ever think of.
