If you are stuck in download mode you're not bricked.
Make sure you have the proper firmware downloaded on your computer. Use Odin 3.10.06 Using winzip or similar tool unzip the firmware and you'll see four files.
Open Odin you'll see AP BL CP and CSC place the corresponding files you've unzipped from firmware into those slots and hit start button you should be up and running

I'm having this exact problem.
I am on a galaxy s6 edge, G925T.
I tried wiping the system and flashing again, nothing worked. I've tried flashing cyanogenmod, and stock rom, but they both give this same error.
The thing that initially broke the phone was trying to use CF-autoroot, and it put it into a bootloop. i was able to install TWRP but that's as far as i've gotten.
I was trying to copy a cyanogenmod zip file onto my phone to install from TWRP, but every time I tried, the transfer failed.

Same here. I have Foxhound Diamond Dogs 3.6 and want to upgrade to the new 4.4 version. Getting the exact same error message that OP posted.
First time I post something useful and cant get help.
Since we are on our own, to those following the post.
Can you post...
Root procedure you used?
If you restored a back up, and are still facing the same issue?
what your "About Phone" reads under baseband after flashing a modem.
and if were all on carriers in US trying to flash a rom meant for international devices...<---this may be my issue.
Can you flash other KitKat roms?
"I flashed the Google KitKat edition, and it worked fine for a day. Rebooted my phone, started getting FC's by the second."
But yeah please just go through what you have done with your phone and the outcomes before this issue arose for you.
Some peer to peer research may extract the data we need to figure this fiddle-stick out.
I'm having the same issue on my Galaxy S4 Active with a locked bootloader. My IMEI got corrupted after an update. I'm trying to reflash the modem to fix the issue, but I can't get past the fail. Any solutions to this yet?

Okay guys, I have screwed up...
I will try to explain my situation as thoroughly as possible:
So there was a game promotion that if you had an S6/EDGE, you would get free content in that game. The only way (to me) that I could get it was change my ro.device.model number to appropriate S6 model number to fake having an S6/EDGE. I rooted my Note 4 (SM-N910P) using chainfire's auto-root. Everything went fine inthe rooting process. I downloaded the application that changes my build.prop (In play store it is titled "build.prop editor"). So I changed the ro.device.model to SM-G920F. I restarted my device so the game could notice that I "had" G6/EDGE. I was stuck in a bootloop. All I see is the Samsung logo. I can access download mode (power home voldown) and recovery (power home volup). I was freaking out that I was stuck in a bootloop. Then someone else in the reddit thread (reddit dot com/r/hearthstone/comments/3dkwew/how_to_get_the_samsung_s6_3_packs_and_card_back) said that he tried it on his Note 4 and he also got the same bootloop but he fixed it by reverting back through stock. I downloaded stock Note 4 4.4.4 firmware and flashed....

No youre not screwed(shouldnt be).
And No, dont continue to flash KitKat firmware or youre going to be wasting time and continually disappointed, no matter how many times you download it.
Once you get to a certain bootloader, youre not able to downgrade to prior(kitkat in this case) bootloaders. Flash the LATEST stock.tar through Odin and start all over.

Well, lets hope that isnt the case and stick to what we do know. That message you received points to one thing, Trying to Odin a .tar firmware that contains an older bootloader that people with OE1 and up bootloaders cannot downgrade to.

would you suggest me to download several stock rom in sammobile and try all.
I am having the same problem with N910W8 getting emmc write fail
Hello,
So to start off I had encrypted CyanogenMOd 12.1 nightlies running on my T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S5 with TWRP 2.8.7 recovery without any problems. I went to reboot and it got stuck in a bootloop, I tried restarting it and same thing. I tried wiping cache/dalvik and same thing. Sometimes it would make it to the "optimizing apps" screen and indefinitely hang on "starting apps", but mostly it gets stuck on the boot animation. I hadn't added or deleted anything prior to this happening. I had tried a number of possible solutions from various threads, none of which solved my issue. (Also, it never asked me to enter my password to startup which it usually did)
I then tried wiping dalvik, system , data, internal storage, and cache and flashing a fresh rom which did not work either. This time the bootloop only ever occurs on the boot animation screen.
What should be my next course of action?
Flash a stock ROM along with the PIT file for your model S5 (Flash both at the same time in ODIN)

I'm having trouble getting a stock rom, they keep corrupting at the end of the download and the download speed is throttled. Do you know of a good source to obtain a stock rom that won't take 2+ hours to download?
What model S5 is it?
Eg: Mine is G900F

So I tried flashing the file from that link along with a PIT file that I found on another thread on this site but it fails to flash.
The message from Odin is:
<ID:0/004> Odin v.3 engine (ID:4)..
<ID:0/004> File analysis..
<ID:0/004> SetupConnection..
<ID:0/004> Initialzation..

<ID:0/004>
<ID:0/004> Re-Partition operation failed.
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)
The message on my phone says:
Secure check fail : PIT
Would this be a bad pit file?

Are you 100% sure about the model S5 you're trying to flash?
Check Settings > General > About
I've just spent the day with another member, who had the same error FAIL! message, and he was trying to flash a G900F ROM and PIT onto a G901F

100% positive. It's T-Mobile, I have the box with that model number and in download mode it shows product name: SM-G900T
Perhaps the files need to have a specific name in order to flash properly? I've run into that issue when reflashing motherboards
So I tried flashing without the PIT file and it "passed" according to odin but it is just stuck on the "Samsung Galaxy S5 Powered by Android" screen now
Ok, So i tried flashing the rom itself one more time and this time it worked! My phone is back to working now. Or, at least until I reboot again > I'll be back if there's any more issues haha. Thanks again for your help

Did you have ODIN and Kies running at the same time? Make sure Kies service is stopped in system before running ODIN
Hey guys/gals . my phone locked up after a restart from updating magisk and now stuck on the s7 edge powered by android screen. i have tried to open twrp but it wont leave the earlier mentioned screen. i can however enter download mode. i tried using ODIN3 v3.12 reflashing the same BL, AP, CP and CSC but with no luck. i have also tried to flash the stock FW but get error on phone saying SW REV. CHECK FAIL. DEVICE: 2 BINARY: 1 after Odin fails and the log reads
<ID:0/004> Odin engine v(ID:3.1203)..
<ID:0/004> File analysis..
<ID:0/004> SetupConnection..
<ID:0/004> Initialzation..

<ID:0/004> FAIL!
<ID:0/004>
<ID:0/004> Complete(Write) operation failed.
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)
The flash files I have used previously that worked are
twrp-3.1.0-0-hero2lte.img.tar (Used in BL for Root)
AP_G935FXXU1APD1_CL7538748_QB9125704_REV00_user_low_ship.tar.md5 (stock)
BL_G935FXXU1APD1_CL7538748_QB9125704_REV00_user_low_ship.tar.md5 (Stock)
CP_G935FXXU1APD1_CL7538748_QB9125704_REV00_user_low_ship.tar.md5 (Stock)
CSC_XSA_G935FXSA1APD1_CL7688684_QB9120478_REV00_user_low_ship.tar.md5 (stock)
HOME_CSC_XSA_G935FXSA1APD1_CL7688684_QB9120478_REV00_user_low_ship.tar.md5(Stock)
Is this recoverable or am I looking at an expensive paperweight. cheers
Edit. I can now boot into TWRP and download mode now, Just can't seem to get it to take an OS, the storage it showing up fine in TWRP and on a pc, except its empty space.
Any advice to solve this would be much appreciated

afaik Odin can only flash tar or tar.md5 files so choose
twrp-3.6.2_9-0-trlte.img.tar.Personally on that old device I use Odin 3.09 as I somewhere read it suits better.
