I'm coming from a Galaxy S5 and essentially I've used the following mechanism for years, including the Nokia ones back in the late 90s. Not looking to change it. I was wondering if there's an easy way to achieve the following:
Normal Profile: Sound and vibration on (3/4ths volume level)
Workday: All sounds off, vibration on
Sleep: All sounds and vibration off, except for alarm.
So, In TouchWiz I could pull down the options and I had a single button that could be toggled three times to give me the different options.
How can I achieve the same thing with the Moto X Pure?

Hey all,
I have a rooted Samsung S6 Edge+ (928F) - since Secure Settings isn't all that functional on Samsung devices anymore, I'm trying to workaround that by re-creating, as much as possible, in Tasker the things the Power Savings Mode achieves when activated.
Does anyone know exactly what power savings mode does on a device?
Vibration off for back and recent apps buttons and also light off for those buttons. That's all I noticed
The processor will get under-clocked a bit!
Hmm, I wonder if that's doable in Tasker. I'll dig around.
Yeah, so far it seems like vibration off, screen brightness set low, screen timeout set to as low as possible - I wonder if it also turns off auto-sync?
Loving my new Moto X Style (Aust).
Love the phone. Only have some slight annoyances. Wondering if people can help:
I love the Moto/Ambient display and as I wave my hand or pick up the phone it bring up the lock screen and notifications. That happens normally. When on a call that doesn't happen. When I need to enter something into the number pad or eg mute/un-mute the screen stays dark and I seem to need to push the power button. Is there a way around this? I don't want to have to push the power buttom to mute/un-mute while on a call.
now on MM 6.0.1, the moto events has moved to Android Settings - Sound & Notifications - Do Not Disturb......i want to set the phone to only vibrate when I have a meeting in the calendar. This option only let's me put DND on which is complete silence (other than priority. But I want all calls and notiication to only be vibrate not silent.
For some reason I just cannot get the Moto Action (chop chop) to turn on Flash light no matter how many times I try. Doulbe twist for Camera works fine.....What do i do?
What do people do about Moto Voice (OK Moto X) and Google voice induced search (OK Google)....do they use either one or the other or can both be on?
When charging the charging screen goes on. And everytime I want to get back into the phone, the charging screen is what's first presented. I don't care about charging nor want to have to dismiss that charging screen every time. How do I get rid of it as the primary entry screen while charging?
Thanks.
Hi all,
I just upgraded my m8 to ARHD 53.1 and it’s my first try of Android 6.0. Works really great, but I get very confused from silence vs do not disturb and why it’s so convoluted.
I think there’s a large consensus that they just can’t seem to get that feature right. I’m not against change, but it seems that the simplest scenarios got messed up:
1) I have the sound mode and DND buttons in my quick settings.
2) I’m actually only interested in two modes and that’s it: a) normal - all notifications b) silence with exceptions (certain contacts that can wake me up and alarm. All silence other than that). I think that it shouldn’t be too much to ask for.
3) If I set DND to priority, it changes the mode to silent and everything’s cool, I get mode (b). I can get back to mode (a) by pressing the sound mode or DND button - works. I can also toggle DND again to get back to (a). BUT, if I press the sound mode button by mistake and go to silence that way, it turns on DND with ON instead of priority and it will never get back to priority unless I go into settings on change it back!! Why?? And why link those two features together in the first place.. I see no reason to not have the option for vibrate sound mode with DND on (for the exceptions).
I’m pretty sure that this is just the way it is, and there’s nothing that can be done in the settings, but if anyone knows of an xposed module that unlinks DND from sound mode or something like that, that will be awesome…
Thanks!
So I've seen posts about this a time or two but why can I not get the vibration off. Turns off just fine on most custom ROMs and on APB2, but on stock oreo especially it DOES. NOT. TURN. OFF. Here is what ive done:
1) Turned off the haptic feedback in settings
2) gone into notification preferences at turn it off
3) gone into Emergency settings and turned off
4) gone into phone and message app and turned off there
5) used the appops com.android.stopfreakingvibrating set VIBRATE ignore
6) used xposed module to adjust vibration
7) turned off vibration in EX Kernel Manager app
ive heard this is a known bug. If true the apathy from the google powers that be should be ashamed. Plus, whether its the Hz rate or the ceramic or something else, the PH-1 has the most obnoxious vibration of any phone i've ever held. Unless I go to the extent of changing ROMs I cant get it to go away. Forgive me for wanting a phone to , you know, work. Somewhere in all of my pissing and moaning this post is to ask the question how do i turn it off, like really turn it off? . I'm anxiously hoping someone has an answer .
