Hey all,
I have a rooted Samsung S6 Edge+ (928F) - since Secure Settings isn't all that functional on Samsung devices anymore, I'm trying to workaround that by re-creating, as much as possible, in Tasker the things the Power Savings Mode achieves when activated.
Does anyone know exactly what power savings mode does on a device?
Vibration off for back and recent apps buttons and also light off for those buttons. That's all I noticed
The processor will get under-clocked a bit!
Hmm, I wonder if that's doable in Tasker. I'll dig around.
Yeah, so far it seems like vibration off, screen brightness set low, screen timeout set to as low as possible - I wonder if it also turns off auto-sync?

Hi All,
I have been having trouble with the phone.
The screen has been turning on by itself and not turning off. The screen will not turn off until i hit the power button. It will not turn off until the phone is out of battery.
Is anyone else having this problem?
thanks!
Want to bump this up ... having the same issue. I've uninstalled nearly every app (at least the ones I'd think would be problematic) and it's still happening. I've downloaded Spare Parts today to see if I could figure it out but I don't have enough data yet.
Anyone else have this issue? Even when I press the lock button, I sometimes need to press it multiple times to get the screen to turn off.
I too am having this problem and boy does it suck battery lol

Do you guys have power saving mode enabled or disabled? Just curious, since that's one of the only things (in addition to message notifications) that affects the screen.
can it have anything to do with automatic updates?
i never had this issue. before or after root. i just rooted two days ago
I had this problem before and after root. I also did a factory reset and I thought it was fixed ... but now it's doing it again.
Happens w/ Power Saving mode enabled and disabled.
I've figured out a semi-solution to this which seems to be working:
With Advanced Task Killer:
Enable Auto Kill Frequencey "When screen off"
Set Auto Kill Level to "Aggressive"
Set Security Level to "Medium"
Don't forget to put any apps you don't want killed in the ignore list (like WidgetLocker, your music player, etc.)
This seems to keep the screen locked for me ... but I still can't figure out what app/process is the culprit in waking the screen when it goes to sleep.
Hi,
I got a GS2 for 2 weeks. I found that the screen will automatically dim down at 10%. It happened even when I activate or deactivate the Power Saving Mode. Is it the ROM bugs? Or anywhere I can set it to no automatically dim down?
thanks
There is Brightness option under Power Saving Mode as a several option.
Regards.

I have already set the brightness to 50% under the Power Saving Mode Page. However, after the phone screen off and on again, it dim to a very low level. I need to go to Power Saving Mode and disable and enable again to bring it to 50% level.
I don't know why screen always dim to low level after screen off/on.
Suppose I unclick the "Use Power Saving Mode" should do nothing when the battery low, right?
same here, but I like that "features"

I think it's a built-in feature to preserve battery. Happens on my phone too, without having power saving mode activated, when battery is very low. It's been probably made that way in order for your phone to last longer when reaching final percents of battery, considering the screen is the biggest battery drainer.
As title suggests. I would like to know if there are any modules or other ways to get marshmallow's ultra power saving mode (with black and white screen and all) on nougat.
I'm really not satisfied with max power saving mode of nougat. Hoping to get a reply from you guys.
Thanks in advance, seems like no one asked about this yet?
It's still there, but you have to go to Settings > Device Maintenance > Battery and change power saving mode to MAX, to enable it.

Mate i clearly stated ultra power saving mode. not max power saving mode. These 2 are different. Max power saving mode won't switch screen to black and white. This used to make a huge difference.
I guess this is not possible then. Can close thread.
UPSM on S7 Edge
It is called Emergency Mode now.
If you push the button to turn off and select Emergency mode in stead of off then you will have greyscale like you are talking about
Hi,
I'm frequently switching power saving modes (between medium and off) because I've noticed data sync operations sometimes fail when in medium mode and I don't get notifications/data I need.
Unfortunately during power saving modes switching there appears some annoying, useless and time consuming splash screen telling what kind of optimizations are turned on/off and how much battery time is going to be saved. Also when switching to medium mode there is also annoying confirmation modal dialog. Basically I don't give a f*** about this information and I need no confirmations since I know what I do.
I'd prefer power saving modes switching to work like turning on/off flashlight or WiFi at home.
Anybody know how to achieve that without flashing ROM/rooting? Currently using Android 7.0.
Thanks.
I don't have an S7 Edge but my friend does and I am asking on here for him. He was telling me that since the Oreo update the clock on the edge feature only works now if the power saving mode is turned off. I guess his battery does not last long with power saving off, but he really liked the clock on the edge feature. Is there a work-around for this? Having a clock on the edge AND having power saving mode on? Thanks.
