So I've seen posts about this a time or two but why can I not get the vibration off. Turns off just fine on most custom ROMs and on APB2, but on stock oreo especially it DOES. NOT. TURN. OFF. Here is what ive done:
1) Turned off the haptic feedback in settings
2) gone into notification preferences at turn it off
3) gone into Emergency settings and turned off
4) gone into phone and message app and turned off there
5) used the appops com.android.stopfreakingvibrating set VIBRATE ignore
6) used xposed module to adjust vibration
7) turned off vibration in EX Kernel Manager app
ive heard this is a known bug. If true the apathy from the google powers that be should be ashamed. Plus, whether its the Hz rate or the ceramic or something else, the PH-1 has the most obnoxious vibration of any phone i've ever held. Unless I go to the extent of changing ROMs I cant get it to go away. Forgive me for wanting a phone to , you know, work. Somewhere in all of my pissing and moaning this post is to ask the question how do i turn it off, like really turn it off? . I'm anxiously hoping someone has an answer .

I cannot figure this out. Is there a download or something out there that can keep this from happening.
The prediction features is called Smart Dial, and perhaps it cannot be turned off.
I like to turn off the touch tone sounds, but the vibrate never bothered me. I just tried turning off the more general Haptic Feedback setting, and the phone key-press still made it vibrate.
When I saw your thread I was thinking, "Oh, that's easy, it's...um...well...let me check...ok not there...um...yeah."
Odds of your desired solution (without DEV intervention) -- not good.

man this blows. I cant believe there is now way to get this out of there. Hopefully will come up as the days go by.
Hi,
As anyone figured out how to disable the haptic/vibration feedback? I've gone to settings>sound>unchecked vibrate on touch but it doesn't seem to have worked. I also noticed that when I turned the volume all the down using either the volume rocker or the touch screen control, the vibrate icon appeared in the top right hand corner.
I received my N10 yesterday and think it's a great device despite some teething issues (which I hope an update in the near future will sort out!), but I want to figure out if the issue above is hardware related, in which case I'll ask for a replacement.

Did you try a reboot after changing the setting?
Also, when you turn the volume all the way down, it automatically turns on vibrate for notification. That's what that icon means.

I've rebooted after changing the setting but it still hasn't turned off. As for the automatic vibrate, I thought I could turn off the vibration even though if I turned the volume all the way down, kinda like selecting the silent option on your phone and turning vibrate off.
Ever since Nougat update (unrooted) on my S7 Edge, I continuously get notified that performance option is on. I'm not an idiot. I know that performance is on. I turned it on. How can I get rid of that notification or any like it? I have disabled all "services" notifications but it doesn't seem to help. It's really making me nuts. Please tell me there is a way to quiet this without rooting? thx...
if its not system notification just disable them, on MM I remember you had an option to never ask again
It is a system notification and when you turn those notifications off it still pushes through. I've long pressed it and what comes up is services and turning all notifications off doesn't keep it quiet. It comes back seemingly randomly.
Has anyone found a solution to this? Its freaking annoying. Had the phone almost 2 years. I know high performance mode is on....

I've put Do Not Disturb mode on when I'm driving, so that I don't get disturbed by notifications (e.gm whatsapp, Facebook, messages) popping up in bubbles at the top of the screen.
It's simply doesn't work - they still pop up! (albeit it doesn't vibrate).
I've selected the "hide visual notifications" option (see screenshot) but it doesn't work either way.
Anyone else have this issue? Any potential solutions?
Mine still give audible notifications in the night when it should be on do not disturb!
I have a much larger issue. My Galaxy S8+, I will turn on the setting to keep alarms on, one night it will work and the next night it won't so my alarm never goes off in the morning. Therefore I stopped using DND, turned all the setting to off even deleted the days it will operate to none and the setting STILL comes on every night at 1030. I go in to check my settings and they are all back on to the day before. Android is starting to get pretty poor with its updates.
if your display is on and in an app while in dnd calls will still come through if youre display is off they will not come through if youre display is on but not in an app the calls will not come through. No work around i can find as of now
This is so typically Samsung.. They finally fixed it, but only when the screen is off and when on the home screen
Ugh.. My Do Don't Disturb is dysfunctional.
If I'm listening to an audio book, watching Netflix or jamming to my tunes and someone calls what ever I'm listening to/watching pauses while the phone silently rings that's B.S. DND means exactly that DND. All calls should go straight to VM. when DND mode is on. Otherwise I can just turn the darn ringer off. DND is worthless.
For me works well. Only when the screen is off, like iPhone. Have you make the settings propperly? Because you can put if you want that calls don't show on screen.
A similar issue was fixed by hard-reset. Have you tried a factory reset? Factory reset stepMod Edit
Is there still no fix to this?
It seems like a pretty important malfunction and is super frustrating every night.
Anyone manage to get it working properly using Tasker?
On my S4, then S6 Edge I had a Tasker profile to turn on Do Not Disturb automatically when I plug my phone in to charge at night, and it worked a treat.
Not with the S8, no matter what I try, it still vibrates and activates the LED notification, even though it is showing as Do Not Disturb mode on, and in the settings I have ticked all the options to hide notifications when the screen is on, and off, and set no exceptions, or alarms only with the same result.
Any ideas?
