Will the sensor recognize more that one finger? Be nice to have it work with either your left or right 2nd finger.

I think it can recognize up to five different fingerprints per google account.

Well I've had 3 previous Android phones with a fingerprint scanner. The real question is what happens to that fingerprint if you flash a new ROM? I had a Note 4 that had to be factory restored due to the fingerprint not fully erasing itself and going to another ROM which caused a whole slew of problems including lag so bad that I didn't even want to use my $800 phone....I couldn't even type out a text msg because the keyboard would lag so bad. Look into the Note 4 section of XDA and you'll find people with the problem.... Now I'd like to find out what'll happen to the 6P and 5X in the same regards.

I wonder if they're using Qualcomm's 3d ultrasonic fingerprint technology. https://www.qualcomm.com/products/snapdragon/security/sense-id
It's supposed to use a proven form of biometric scanning in the security industry and can work through metal.

A guy from another forum pointed me to this bug.
It starts when you hold two fingers in the screen for more than 12 seconds. Then the multitouch is lost. After a few seconds it fixes itself.
Has anyone noticed this?. Is there any fix or workaround?.

Yes i noticed this when playing the n64 emulator, i just commented in one of the threads about it lol.
Apparently we have the same digitizer as the Nexus S. Mayb we can get the driver from it?

I think the point was, most cameras on phones do not have this feature and the Atrix did not have the feature out of the box.
IPhone does as well.
Anyway just tested this the bug is indeed real. This phone just has way too many issues.

...really? Galaxy S has, iphone has, n8 has...anyway there is no manual focus either on atrix. for a highend phone like this you have to be silly not to expect it.
anyways without being able to flash a kernel we wouldnt be able to do anything about multitouch far as i'm aware
A bit off topic but I don't see how the nokia N8 has autofocus considering it has a "full focus" camera, aka fixed focus.

OMG I was wondering this while playing MARIO CART 64! You press B to go but you have to use the trackpad and 12 after the race starts, I always come to a stop and everyone passes me
LOL I sound like a dumbass kid now...but seriously, this is very very annoying...
The only work around I saw for Mario Cart was to use the Accelerometer sensor for the trackpad. Which is under Settings>Input Settings then Use sensor as-trackpad.
But this is defiantly an annoyance to other applications too...it really needs to be fixed.

lol the more we discover about this phone, the worse it gets
What with MIUI making lock screens customizable, and the EVO gods somehow automatically knowing what every thread is about without reading them....
How cool, would a lock screen that looked like a "theatrical" biometric scanner, wherein the user need touch and hold where the "scanner" is for a few seconds for the phone to unlock.
Anyone else have any neat lock screen ideas?

Yea, but I don't think I can say those here.
Thats already been done on the iphone. In fact there is a few apps like that.
Pretty sure these already exist... maybe this one?
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.hezapps.finger_security_scanner
A real fingerprint scanner lockscreen would be too freaky, speaking from a security standpoint. I'm sure the government will issue phones like that some time in the near-future, to safeguard us all from 'terrorism'.
Sent From My UN-Rooted Evo!
I don't think the OP was talking about a real fingerprint reader. The Evo's screen isn't capable of capturing that anyway. The idea of an unlock screen that looks like a fingerprint reader does sound kind of cool, although if it worked by just holding your finger in one spot while it "scans," it might be too easy to unlock it by mistake.

Yeah I thats the one I thought of. That's like exactly what he's talking about. It pretends to read your fingerprint to unlock your phone. It's kinda cool, but loses its novelty.

only works as a ''lockscreen'' if you use a replacement launcher like adw, LPP, etc and choose the launcher as a locked app.
works fairly well after several training photos are taken in all sorts of settings and light, but is just too slow for my tastes... although i am excited too see how much better it gets, as it could be a serious consideration after further development
that's awesome! Thanks for the link! Totally what I was thinking. Face recognition by the camera would be cool too, although my front face camera got spooky 6+ months ago, so I don't know if that would ever work...

Nice! Love this feature. Always envious of lg for that. How much does it effect battery life
noticed the nexus 9 has it too on a video i saw.
Maybe that's a typo or he got confused with the 9? Strange that nobody else mentioned what would be a pretty big feature...
I hopefully does it, because after getting use to it on my g3, i catch me some times trying to wake my other devices with double tap
I loved that feature on my G2, M8, and now G3...but with my G3 always turning on in my pocket I was ready to be over that feature.

"In his hands on, Honan specifically calls out the feature, although some were still left wondering if it could have been a misprint (the Nexus 9 also has tap-to-wake). We reached out to the author where he was able to confirm that yes, this is, in fact, a feature found in the Nexus 6 and was most certainly not posted in error. Boom" -Phandroid

Yes! That's even better. I won't even miss my g2 then with the heads up notifications and the double tap to sleep and wake it'll be the features. that I used most. I'm not a fan of bringing back dead posts but double tap to wake does not work on the nexus 6, or at least not on mine.
I'm still hoping they included it, just not yet enabled. Or maybe a dev can activate it, especially since it is on the Nexus 9. Key will be if the digitizer and screen are on different power planes so as not to drain battery.

I hope a Dev can enable it with a new kernel I miss that from my G3
Its only worth enabling if it doesn't completely drain the battery IMO ... and that depends on hardware .. thats the reason why Nexus 5 couldnt really use it ( even after activated by the devs ) because the hardware wasn't right :
It had to keep power to the entire screen rather than just the digitiser, thats why the G3 etc don't drain the battery .. lets hope the Nexus 6 screen is built to supply different power to the digitiser and actual screen
With phones it is all about those small things that make the experience for you ever more enjoyable. Like everyone else not being able to quickly view notifications while your device was sitting on a desk was kind of annoying. While there were apps that tried to mimic this feature it just quite wasn't there.
Well with the new OTA that I promptly side loaded the Pixel is nearing perfect for me. Coming from the S7 Edge makes it even more enjoyable. Why? Because the S7 Edge always on display was kind of useless. Sure you can see the time and a few notifications but it just did not apply to enough apps which made it more annoying.
Anyone just my 2 cents.

btw my is really slow right ?
i found one funny issue with my pie control, if i open pie control in any screen other than home screen, it work perfectly but in home screen it take few second to load, any one have idea what it cause ?
I am actually taking back my recommendation on this app...
more than once I have had it kind of "take over" my screen.
What I mean is, any touch on my screen is attempting to touch something in PIE control (and not actually graphically showing PIE control, btw).
you effectively can't do anything at that point.
Its been a few days since I stopped using it, but I really did pretty exhaustively try to figure out how to stop this.
I really liked this app's "swipe" method instead of pulling the PIE out and having to like hold on a button for a quick sec, this app lets you do it in a smooth swiping motion.
Anyways, ive given up and gone back to onscreen navigation keys.
Every method I have tried (including XDA's navigation) has had some small hangups that eventually have problems working.
And no I haven't reported errors and such in respective threads, I just give up because my "lots of effort into having a hacky phone" days are behind me
