[BUG] Multitouch lost after 12 seconds - Atrix 4G General

A guy from another forum pointed me to this bug.
It starts when you hold two fingers in the screen for more than 12 seconds. Then the multitouch is lost. After a few seconds it fixes itself.
Has anyone noticed this?. Is there any fix or workaround?.
This is terrible for gaming.

Right, there are a lot of stand alone cameras that don't have that feature

Yes i noticed this when playing the n64 emulator, i just commented in one of the threads about it lol.
Apparently we have the same digitizer as the Nexus S. Mayb we can get the driver from it?

I think the point was, most cameras on phones do not have this feature and the Atrix did not have the feature out of the box.

IPhone does as well.
Anyway just tested this the bug is indeed real. This phone just has way too many issues.

...really? Galaxy S has, iphone has, n8 has...anyway there is no manual focus either on atrix. for a highend phone like this you have to be silly not to expect it.
anyways without being able to flash a kernel we wouldnt be able to do anything about multitouch far as i'm aware

A bit off topic but I don't see how the nokia N8 has autofocus considering it has a "full focus" camera, aka fixed focus.

Same here it hasn't been that bad just my little guy would stop for a sec and I would have to lift my finger and push the virtual d pad again.

Is this bug fixable by software?.
Or is hardware related and will never be fixed?.

OMG I was wondering this while playing MARIO CART 64! You press B to go but you have to use the trackpad and 12 after the race starts, I always come to a stop and everyone passes me
LOL I sound like a dumbass kid now...but seriously, this is very very annoying...
The only work around I saw for Mario Cart was to use the Accelerometer sensor for the trackpad. Which is under Settings>Input Settings then Use sensor as-trackpad.
But this is defiantly an annoyance to other applications too...it really needs to be fixed.

HTC Rolling out a fix for Screen issues

Engadget
We've just been tipped off on a couple feel-good items for EVO 4G owners that should end your Friday on a bright note:
The glass separation issues are real, but said to be super minor and have no effect on the usability of the phone apart from a nearly imperceptible "give" to the touch. That said, HTC has made some assembly changes that should reduce or eliminate the problem going forward, and it'll keep an eye on the situation.
This is really interesting: the screen sensitivity problems are also real and are apparently far more prevalent in arid climates, but it can be fixed with a software patch alone. That patch will be rolling out to EVOs soon.
See? Told you it was feel-good news. More on this stuff as we get it.

Yeah I wish they'd fix the fps cap instead.

Having been an HTC customer for 3 years, this is very true. lol
I don't expect anything anymore from them.
Wait, so a software patch is going to fix the grounding problem?
^ That's what it sounds like. Not a complete issue for me but still bothered by it tho.
Is the sensitivity issue the really bad touch lag or are they referring to the "grounding problem"? If they fixed the touch lag, I'll probably buy the phone. The lag is much more important to me than the 30fps limit.

[CLOSED/G2] No touch to focus :(

Boo i really liked having the touch to focus feature on my N1 hopefully with time it will come back. Btw what is the "infinity" option in the settings of camera focus?

The N1 does not have "touch to focus" by default, and neither does the G2. Big surprise there.
Hey thanks but someone already said that. Yes it was a big surprise because the n1 didn't do 720p stock but the g2 does. So I woulda thought they'd add touch to focus too

Try depressing the shutter button slightly... It triggers a focus then you can depress the rest of the way to capture the image.
That is the regular auto focus. The touch to focus is like the ones on the iphone where whatever you press on the screen is what it will focus on

it was ported from vibrant to CM6, and you will not see it without CM on the phone once we get root
Man, that's kinda lame. I thought that was kind of a standard feature by now. I really enjoyed this feature on the Vibrant (though, I hated not having a dedicated camera button and flash).
Hopefully, Google implements this into the stock camera app.
Personally, I find touch-to-focus highly annoying and I try to avoid phones that use it. A dedicated camera button is one of the most important features on a phone for me. If the G2 had only touch-to-focus, I likely wouldn't want it.
Just thought I'd chime in from the other side of the opinion.
I agree that the camera button is better, but why not have both?
Winning statement! Lol

I wish the audio recording on the G2 was better... it seems to be a common trend among HTC phones and I don't understand why it still hasn't gotten better, especially after several other phones have been introduced already.
Ya its kinda weird because even tho the n1 had 2 mics the audio recording was not any better then the g2 still very phone like quality

Pictures upload orientation issue

I tried to upload on Facebook a picture taken with my Nexus S but it seems that, when uploaded it has the wrong orientation (always horizontal, even if the pictutre has been taken vertically). Is anyone else experiencing the same issue? Anyway to fix it?

There have been a couple threads on this including one i made, as of now there is no way to fix it. before you say the NS is a peice of crap, all SGS phones do it.
If you hold the phone in portrait mode and hit the menu button the menu comes up in landscape mode. the SGS phones only like it sideways
I'm glad im not the only one. Apparently this isnt just with FB but with any form of picture transfer when taken in portrait?
I hope theres a fix for this, I love this phone but that's annoying!

ya, its something you get used to, kinda gotta figure it is the normal way you take a picture with a camera

guess i got lucky, because no problems here with EB13

I updated my completely stock epic through the samsung site, and all is well with my phone. I'm not getting force closes, force closes when using action shot in camera mode. Pretty much my phone is flying. Maybe I got lucky?
can you record a video on low light and link us??
Awesome name Javier... That's my name too lol.
I'm updated my wife and my phone to EB13. Yesterday the camera was working flawless, even under low light. Not the same story today... It's extremely blurry as everyone else is reporting. FC on sports mode as well. Both phones did this.

its not the action shot its the sport mode on the single shot that force closes , and it will lock your phone up give it a try.

engadget SGS2 review

9/10 i think they liked it
http://www.engadget.com/2011/04/28/samsung-galaxy-s-ii-review/
damn you samsung.. i swore to never buy another one of your phones but with the impending GB and this phone dropping it looks like i will be *****ing about OS updates for the forseeable future
i'm thinking the epic may hold me over till the next Nexus... which i'm hoping will be based on the SGS2 unit and come out on sprint
Hmm, no dedicated camera button. I really like the camera button,
The only thing keeping me away from the SGS2 Sprint variant is the 3D screen in the EVO 3D. if samsung decides to make one with 3d I would get it like there is no tommorow.
The review forgets to mention the super high speed delivery of stable updates.

I don't see how a 3D screen is even remotely useful, there aren't any 3rd party apps for it and it only works in the camera and video apps.

Same boat I'm in. I really like the fact that I can save real estate by not launching with an icon but when it comes to taking the actual picture, it's the screen button for me.

Same here. The dedicated camera button was something I wanted, but after using it I found I take better pictures using the touchscreen one as I ddon't shake the phone as much. Now it never gets used other than to start the camera up.

Hmm, I've found the opposite. I hold the phone on the edges with my index finger & thumb of each hand, so my right index finger is right there where the button is. If I used the screen, I couldn't hold it steady with both hands.

I just use my thumb and middle finger of my right hand to hold that side, and use my index finger to hit the onscreen button. Just found for me anyway, the force I was using to push down the side button made me shift the phone more often than not.
