I like the appearance of Onda v820w ch,it comes with Cherry-Trail Atom processor,win10 OS.But now Cube IWORK8 has a very cheap price,if you order this table very cost-effective.It is a dual boot tablet,in fact they almost had same hardware. It depends on your preferences

okay, hope onda is the better choice. if i try it, then share with you guys.

Yes. It's cheapest tablet Windows I has seen overtime. I've bough one. The Cherry Trail CPU look like more powerful with old model Onda 820w.
I 've compare the Intel x7 and x5 processors. Here is it http://ark.intel.com/compare/85475,85474,87383
The x5-8300 does not support Intel Wireless Display. And I have a bit confuse with "# of USB Ports" you can see in the compare link. X5-8300 have no USB port. Anybody can understand this? While the 820w CH still support USB OTG but not thing happened when I plug the Y cable (maybe you call the "Y cable" with another name - with the Y cable you can still plug USB and charge both in one moment). I have test this cable with my X80HD and it work fine.

Mine hade some graphical glitches when I was using some programs, flickering and stuff. But maybe it was just mine.

It's arrived to me 2 days ago and it's reboot continuously, in android and in windows. After an exhausting update in windows it seems to work better.
I think that is a heating problem. The reboot are immediate using the tablet while charging.
When it's work I like very much.

I just received my Onda V820W CH tablet a few days ago. It came with a dual boot setup of Android 5.1 and Windows 10. At first both OSes worked but the Windows Shop didn't work properly in Windows 10 so I tried resetting Windows and that made it stop working. Now the Android OS still works but when choosing Windows 10 it doesn't start.
Is there anywhere a step by step guide on how to reinstall Windows 10 on this tablet so it works again? (preferably keeping the Android OS, but I can do without it if needed).
Thank you!

No but I think you have to boot from an usb pen. I'm trying to solve how to do this, I think we have to disable the UEFI boot setting and then change the boot order.
So I think you can use a live windows or linux to check your system
Some ideas can come from ondaforum and thechtablets (I cannot post the links due to xda protection policy)

Thanks for your answer. The problem I'm having is that my tablet doesn't accept booting from a 32-bit EFI (the bootia32.efi that comes with Windows 32-bit), only from a 64-bit EFI (bootx64.efi), so I can only install Windows 10 64-bit, but then I can't use any drivers since all drivers I found for the ONDA V820W CH are for 32-bit Windows.
How can I install Windows 32-bit, then?

I was in able to boot one distro linux with gparted (now I'm travelling and I don't remember what distro). So if you find a complete windows è image you can use dd to put it in. When I was looking Info about install ubuntu on chinese tablets I've read something about editing a file to enable 32 or 64 bit booting. Maybe this can solve tour problem.

Well, I don't know that much about the hardware, but I would prefer Intel over AMD (if you got the cash that is). And for the graphics card, you could go for a really powerful one, or go for two less expensive ones with Nvidia sli or Ati crossfire (depending on what brand your going to get). Here in Holland we have this comparison Site called tweakers.net, maybe you can find something like that too? Hope this helps a little

For the cpu, you could consider an i7-2600, at least if you have the money, otherwise an amd phenom ii x6 is also good, but a lot cheaper. For the graphics card, you can take an gtx 680, or else an hd7870.

To Me, I have AMD Phenom II X4 945 which is comparable with i5 and is lot cheaper than it.
For Graphic Card, go for ATI Radeon HD 6750 1 GB DDR3, it's cheaper and it's in Top 10 list in PassMark Performance Ratings.

[W8 32b - TF810c] Blueastacks does not work :(

I have tried both Win7 and Win8 versions and no luck at all .
If I start Bluestack directly all I get is black screen with touch icons at the bottom of the window.
The only one that works is screen maximize.
If I start if through attached app I either get above mentioned black screen or it says loading and afterwards again goes to black screen.
Any ideas what I could do?
Does it allow to access Google Play (and apps I have already bought)?
No, it doesn't work. There might be an issue with the video drivers, HP envy x2 has some newer ones but they are buggy and make the screen flicker. Also might be that bluestacks is still beta.
Either way at how much CPU this program will use to emulate even the simplest apps I doubt it will be actually worth it.

This is a copy and paste of a bit of text I wrote elsewhere:
Me_In_Another_Thread said:
Bluestacks involves ZERO emulation of ARM. Android apps are run inside the dalvik virtual machine (itself a register based version of the java virtual machine). To run an android app just needs a DVM and its class library: bluestacks pretty much does this. Android native code apps do then get complicated yes but then the android NDK has a rather convenient feature that bluestacks can exploit.
NDK compiles native binaries for both x86 and ARMv7 by default (note default, you can over-ride which platforms it compiles for, I believe ARMv6, ARMv6hf, ARMv7, MIPS and x86_32 are available options although I am not 100% sure on the exact arm versions so might be wrong). Bluestacks is only running on x86 and x86_64 machines. x86_64 machines can safely run x86_32 code. So really bluestacks when it encounters a native app "just" has to run the x86 binary the NDK produces on windows/mac with a compatibility layer. Still a complex job of course.
Bluestacks still has to mess about a bit exposing hardware to "android" correctly and handling a few extra bits and pieces but generally it works rather well

I've seen bluestacks running angry birds on an intel atom based netbook. Wasn't as snappy as on a galaxy note 2 but it worked, actually played better than on my old orange san francisco/ZTE blade. Still lagged a little on level loading but once you let the physics settle down you could take your first shot no problem and carry on playing from there. Envy uses a newer gen of intel atoms anyway which are supposedly much better.
I haven't had the screen issues with bluestacks myself but I run it on a full desktop PC with updated drivers and a dedicated GPU etc.
I see what you mean, in the end it might be worth it. All I did was send an error report to Bluestacks but I think more can be done.
The HP Envy X2 uses the Atom Z2760 SoC, as does the VivoTab and all Atom windows 8 tablets to date (the ones released in the past few months to be precise). The latest Envy driver pack installs without issues but instead may cause some. Namely with docking, sometimes the 2nd battery won't be recognized and charged, the mousepad might behave strange and screen flickering that occurs randomly but is easily fixed, (standby->back from standby).
You can give it a try but I recommend backing up your current drivers.
Not working on my vaio as well.In fact it is failing during installation due to graphics card compatibility.Mine is ATI Radeon 7670M..what could be the problem?

Yes! Along with Flash video and multiple windows at the same time!
You know with true multitasking, I get three things done 3 times faster, just in time for the 3 hrs.
Yeah, so does the TF810C, it's an X86 cpu and it plays flash like the ARM version for 10 hours or so... You know, like a real tablet, not something as heavy as a netbook with 1/3 of the battery life.
Do you even have a relevant contribution for this thread?
Pots and kettles, Bec07. If you don't like a mobile computer with a 5-hour battery life, that's your call... but it's even less relevant to the thread than what EMINENT1 is posting. Keep it civil and keep it on topic, please.

I'm sure given Surface Pro has a much faster processor than the Z2760. TF810C doesn't run the same processor as the Surface Pro though, it runs the same Atom as the Vivotab Smart so OP may find performance not acceptable.
I tried BS on a samsung S7 with an i5 processor. It worked fine, I guess, but the screen resolution in BS was bad.
Uninstalling it was a pain. The uninstaller froze every time and did nothing. I had just created an image so I will just restore that instead of messing with the uninstaller.
BS is definitely in beta stages...

Doesn't seem ipad air like either if it's running a proper OS Though it has the same aspect ratio screen.
Nitpick, it won't have a Retina screen, since that's just an Apple trademark (for screens made by someone else). Their screens are actually IPS, so yes this would be the same.
Fixed. iPad Air like design tablet, to be precise.
same 9.7 inch IPS screen
same 2 048 x 1 536 resolution
Almost iPad Air like thin and light.
242 mm * 171 mm * 8.3 mm / 495g - Onda V975W
240 mm * 169,5 mm * 7,5 mm / 478 g - iPad Air
And of course the main difference and advantage over iPad Air or any similar Android tablet will be a full Windows 8.1 version.
Actually, Onda is really bold about the Apple iPad AIr part...
really that resolution yeah right.....

Hey,
would you recommend a purchase for this tablet?
I had a Cube Talk 9x, but I wasn't happy with it. The display was not bright enough and other small issues.
I love the idea to have a full windows to use it on the way and at home on a big screen.
I am very suspicious about the performance with such a high resolution in combination with windows 8.
The Cube Talk 9x have the same resolution and i would say the performance was allright, not very fast but also not slow.
I have Archos 97 that is very similar to Cube 9x. It's slow, even with custom ROM it's still too slow, because of QHD resolution and Android. I think Android is just a crappy OS, and not a lot you can do about that
That was the main reason I have upgraded to Onda V975W and switched to Windows. Desktop, IE browser, even 4k video runs as smooth as on a notebook. V975W is really more similar to a small notebook, than an Android tablet.
Screen brightness is ok, unless you use tablet under direct sunlight.

Seems like a video issue, try to force native tablet resolution, highlight try ubuntu and press "e"
Edit there it says "quiet splash", replace "splash" with preferred resolution
Code:
video=VGA-1:1280x800e reboot=pci,force
Or try Mint 64bit.

V102W = 1920X1200 resolution, 10.1 inch screen
v975w = 2048x1536 resolution, 9,7 inch screen
v102w is roughly 150 grams heavier and is more designed to be used in Landscape with its 16:10 screen
everything else is the same.
Ive got the v975w so i maybe biased but id still go for the v975w just because it has the same dimensions as the ipad air so getting case/covers etc is alot easier. also higher resolution screen and the design itself is abit more prettier.
both solid tablets for the price though.

what are main tasks you will use tablet for?
V975W is like iPad Air with Windows. It's perfect tablet for reading, web browsing, because of very detailed resolution and screen format.
V102W has a wide screen and lower resolution, so it's slightly better for videos. Though I would then check ONDA V891W instead, since it's way cheaper, but exactly same tablet just 9 inch screen format, and that doesn't really matter for videos or games.

I noticed that on the Onda-tablet.com website that they list this at 265ppi. But using an online PPI calculator shows it as 189ppi. I hate when these Chinese sellers distort the truth. They never did reply to me when I asked about it. This would be more attractive if the PPI was higher.

And here are the specs and price.......Onda V116w
Received v116w yesterday.
I can't get the language changed in Windows. I've installed English language packs, reset the time zone and region etc. there are a few different solutions here and elsewhere for fixing this problem, including some instructions on onda-tablet.com where I bought it, but I can't make anything work. the main frustration is I cant tell really if I've made the changes correctly. I just can't read anything. I don't even know if I have admin privileges.

This tablet comes with Windows Chinese license ONLY.
onda-tablet.com fools people to make money of them as usual..

Maybe so, but mines in English, just download and install the language pack like other Chinese tablets. Or manually grab the pack and install it.
Depends on a Windows license and seller.
Reports about Chinese only V116W from onda-tablet.com
And banggood states that in the V116W description.
If license is chinese only, you won't find any language packs or won't be able to use key with english US windows setup.
@Hendrickson Does your V116W run normal "Windows 8.1" or "Windows 8.1 with Bing"?

My Onda v116w has Windows 8.1 Pro which was an added bonus. Screen brightness on mine is really bright too, more than my iPad Air or Teclast X98
That's the main problem, Microsoft gives free "Windows with Bing" license only for 10 inch tablets and smaller.
With Onda V116W you are buying Windows license like on a laptop, so it depends on license type if it's localized only or multi language.
It's easy to change language with second, there are plenty guides, but same tricks won't work on localized only version.
I just receive this tablet... But mine have windows with bing... Anyway i also can't get rid of activation.... Calling the microsoft customer center they said me that my software is not genuine... Whaaat.....????
Hi
Is there a way to update/download Windows language pack? I know so far there is no way, but maybe someone has found a way?
I found this link:

But couldn't make it to update

I'm quite excited about the Onda oBook 11, as it is one of the cheapest Cherry Trail laptops you can buy at the moment. It costs $180 and I hope to get my hands on one. The screen can also be rotated 360 degrees like the Lenovo Yoga series.
Full Specs:
11.6 inch touch screen: 1920 x 1080 pixels IPS
Intel Atom-X5 Z8300 64bit Quad Core 1.44GHz
RAM + ROM: 2GB + 32GB
Windows 10
2.0MP front camera
MicroHDMI, MicroSD, Bluetooth, Accelerometer
30Wh battery (most likely an 8000mAh battery)
onda should start selling linux or dos version even at cheaper price. definitely asus x205, yoga 10 or envy 11 killer. will even prefer it over macbook air due to full hd ips display, light weight and touch screen support.

It's not powerful enough to match a macbook Air, which has a Core M processor.

but i want it just for office, web browsing and multimedia. full hd ips display and lightweight are only requirements.
and its foolish to compare $180 product against $900 product. this product has more vfm than any apple product in existence. (i have teclast x80h and x90hd so i know what 3735f can do) ignore my english.

Exactly. There is no need to spend over $200 or $300 if you are not doing something serious on the machine.
I preordered one of these should have it sometime in December.
You could just as well say the $1300 apple netbook isn't comparable to a Surface Pro, or any other Intel core i machine, which is faster than core m. There are lots of different devices out there, each with pros and cons, for me something without even a touch screen is bottom of the list for an ultra portable. I love my T100HA - and cherry trail is more than sufficient for a range of tasks, including some programming. It won't be up to high end stuff, but neither will core m. I'd take my T100HA at any price, but the fact that these cherry trail devices are so low cost is even better.
Any news about Onda? It looks very nice ...

oBook 11 is available to buy. Now, Onda oBook 10 also can pre-order.
I've ordered laptop and I wonder is it possible to install Ubuntu on the device without getting any problems and doing any extra job (BIOS replacement, installing bunch of extra drivers and software etc)?
Issue trouble of obook 11
Did anyone here already having it?
did already find problem like noise when brightness display more than 70%?
and port of usb 3.0 issue?
I'm interested as well. This could be a good device but the screen sound definitely is a problem.

The wifi card is normally 8723bs for which there is an existing driver on github. But you will have to build it from source.
https://github.com/hadess/rtl8723bs
I'm still waiting for fixing bad noise when display brightness is high?
