My fellow OPT users.
Anyone has the knowledge how to edit it properly? I want to increase everything a littlebit but it seems a lot different compare to OPO.
Thanks
In recent months my Nexus 6p is really lagging a lot I usually have to restart the phone a lot, I thought maybe it's chrome but not sure keyboard been lagging quite a bit at times too. Anybody find a fix for this problem? When I first got the phone it was very smooth now it's been pretty bad.
Mine is doing exactly the same. I'm using pure nexus. In games particularly.
It's Thermal Throttling and not much you could do about without ripping the device apart and replacing the thermal paste. This is not something everybody would want to do since opening this device is a pure nightmare.
If you´ve already performed a full wipe before and flashed a Stock Factory Image and still have this issue, it might be indeed a case for Google to replace the device.
Yup, have this issue too.
Anybody had any success fixing this problem?
The only solution I can think of is to get a new CPU. Which is impossible of course.
You are most likely experiencing CPU/GPU throttling. It plagues the Snapdragon 810. I know the Snapdragon 810 in the 6P is a revised version, but overheating still exists.
I've fixed my device myself. Sooner or later it will throttle too but it takes a longer time for the device to heat up that bad.
Yup, sometimes it is veery laggy, more laggy than snapdragon 800 phones..

How did you fix it?
I literally opened the device and replaced the cheap and rubbery thermal paste. I've linked the thread in my signature. You can also spot it in the general section

What thermal paste you used?
I used a premium thermal paste with a thermal conductivity of 16W/mK and a 17W/mK thermal pad. You can use paste only instead of a thermal pad too but it will look a little messier on the inside.
Yeah, it's the 810 overheating. The S7 in comparison is super-smooth and fast. At least Qualcomm have sorted their flagship processor out.
I've never experienced any lag in the 3 months I've owned this device. I've been using pure nexus along with lean kernel and elementalx. I have found stock kernel runs smoother. If you go back to factory images and still experience lag, warrenty return the device.

No lag ever but I recently had weird thing happen where my phone would give the red message upon boot as if I wasn't using matching vendor image and I would flash it and it wouldn't quit displaying the red message on boot so I wiped everything using fastboot and manually flashed mmb29q factory image and used it for 3-4 days then installed Tesla and all is good now. Probably from flashing MaNy many times in the last few months. I suggest wiping your phone using fastboot and starting over if you experience anything weird. Worked for me but I've never had any lag. I have however had lag on other phones in my past and I no longer used whatever rom I was as that seemed to be the culprit. No lag here. ?
The sharpening effect on V20 is less aggressive than on LG G3, but I still find it unpleasant to look at. I have very high hopes that this community will be able to fix it by removing the effect altogether.
Here is a link to LG G3 thread about a successful fix: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/orig-development/fix-stock-kernel-oversharpening-fix-t2951620
Here is a link to code commit containing the fix for G3: https://github.com/Skin1980/D855-kernel/commit/74f033f5798b35a491c7fabd2767a6c0e785d788
Thanks in advance!
Wrong section.
Can you explain, or demonstrate what you mean by screen sharpening?
Nvm, I just saw it. Doesn't seem to be prominent at all, let alone noticeable.
I'll try to poke around with the kernel, but I can't guarantee anything since I am so new to android cooking. Also, I am still working on fixing FM+bluetooth in my kernel, so it might not be til January until I try. Maybe sooner if I get some time off.
Knowing that SnapDragon 810 is defective in this part, the SGP771's thermal throttling is really tiring.
I saw that it is possible to edit thermal-engine.conf. But I didn't see any tutorials or files for the Z4 Tablet. I tried to edit some lines but was unsuccessful.
Any idea?
perhaps this post will help you

In the app there is also a settings page "Temperature" where you can enable "thermal throttling"
I just installed the app and can't say if it works well on my device.

I doubt that shamu's cpu is powerfull enough to handle that load.
Also changing some *.so-files won't help much as it needs changes on device side an the kernel driver.
So if you're not into programming and endless debugging sessions - abandon all hope.

That it can do it, it can. Now i won't eat my youth over shamu and his labyrinth of coding i already locked my eyes on the new Xiaomi Note 10 or the 9 Lite ,when shamu's battery goes to sleep with the fishes... they can go till 1000 fps ! Its just weird coz other phones with the same cpu and/or same camera sensor can also go 120 not even 60 ... but since i don't know my Jesus about android programming i acknowledge my defeat from Google and move on with my life
