Hello,
I have lg g2 D802. It's screen started trilling & took it to a repairing lab, they did some work on it but now screen is like in attachment. Repairing guy told that this is motherboard issue & motherboard needs to be replaced. Here repairing labs are not good, one was saying that this is screen issue, but this is not screen issue because I replaced several screens.

Now, someone please tell me if it is really a motherboard issue or someone has experience with this situation, please share.
Thank you
Definetly your screen needs to be replaced... or it can be the flex cable which is impossible to chnage... if you have a spare flex touch cable lying around and have the expertise to do it... you must give it a try

I might have spilled to much water onto the screen while cleaning it. The phone turns on and the LCD works fine but the digitizer is irresponsive.
There was a lot of water inside the digitizer which seems to have quartered after drying it for 8 hrs.
What are my chances of getting it to work again?
If not, where can I buy a digitizer shipping to Paksitan? If you have one please post here
Thanks
TGB
update: I kept it on a fan overnight but things have not improved much. Im going to take it to a local laptop repair shop to see what he can do. Take it apart and wipe of the water and try.
I sent it to a local repair shop. Digitizer is damaged. He will install a new one for about $40

Hello all of you!
You had luck.....couse 1 year ago I had an "ETEN P300"best s*hit in the world...compared to Qtek 2020!!)
When I was leaning I had sliped the phone in a washbasin...
After that I immidiatly took the battery and than I went home....opened the phone...clean it very good...and everything was working perfect than!
So...your problem is minor than mine....don't disperate...40$ is ok...I think!!
Good luck!
PS:Searching for best business in IT&C domain....need serious parteners!
Ok this one goes out to all you cool smart guys out there. I currently have two mt4g's. One is working perfectly fine with the "bad screen", as they call it, and the other is bricked, or no it has a failed pu is what someone told me, but it has the "good screen".
Anyway while just minding my own business on the internet one day I came across a video which shows you how to replace a lcd screen in a mytouch 4G! I was hooked. I could do this I said, it looked so easy! Sure you need some patience, which I got btw. So I was determined to do this, even ordered the tools from repairsuniverse. So about the fourth time watching the tutorial I began to wonder if it would be possible to just swap motherboards instead of disassembling all the way to the screen. Mostly because I still need a heat gun so i could remove the digitized then lcd screen.
So i guess my question is will swapping motherboards solve the pu problem in the mytouch with the good screen? And while I got you here has anyone ever replaced there lcd screen?? Is it worth it??

Yes, if you put the good motherboard in the case with good LCD, you'll get one good phone.
Thanks for the response! This will make the job so much easier

sorry to piggyback you post but i had a similar question....
a friend of mine is giving me their broken mytouch 4g. it was working perfect but then she dropped it on her kitchen tile (bottom right corner hit i'm told) and now it will not turn on at all.....no cracks or anything, just a scratch in the corner. she says she tried a new battery and tried plugging into AC but no lights, nothing.
i've taken apart enough phones so once I get it i'm not afraid to do some swapping of parts.
my question is, those of you who have worked on this model, any indication where you think would be the problem? i'm hoping the lcd/digitizer is fine since its not cracked but we'll see....and i figured maybe i would just need to do a motherboard swap worst case? is there any other components you think could be shot after the drop? from what i've been able to find its just the 1 main mother board , correct? (meaning there is not 2 parts)
thought MAYBE i'll get lucky after opening it up, and verifying all the cables that possible some cables got jarred loose and thats why it wont respond but not holding my breathe on that.
thanks for the help!
I replaced the LCD screen in my Nexus 7 today, and the attached photo is the result. I have read around a little bit, but cannot determine if I received a bad LCD screen, or if perhaps I damaged the ribbon cable. I have replaced LCD's in several devices, but this is the first time anything's gone wrong. Is there any way to tell what happened?
PS - I realize there was a previous thread about something quite similar to this, but I did not feel it really addressed the possibility that the screen is bad... I had re-seated the ribbon just to be sure it was on right, so I am fairly certain there is a bad part. I just don't want to go ordering more parts before the problem is properly diagnosed.
Thanks everyone!
So i have a Verizon G2.
a part of the screen is not working after i installed a wet screen guard i've put it in a container of rice for now and hope its fixed by tomorrow.
if thats not possible im assuming the screen is shot, now here' my question my friend has a completely brick sprint LG G2 which is basically a paper weight but the screen on it is pristine.
If My phone is water damaged can i use the Sprint G2 screen on my Verizon G2 please help and lemme know because if it is water damaged then i would need to replace the screen and this would save me a lot of money .
someone ?
Ok here's the deal... On your description I couldn't tell if your screen (display) or touchscreen is damaged. I assume you are referring to the touchscreen.
Unfortunately the LG G2 is very prone to touchscreen damage, I damaged mine one hot day while I was sweating and using the phone. Seems like a bit of sweat managed to find a way into the phone (most likely through the earpiece speaker since it stopped working briefly) but the thing is that since then, the top most 1/3rd of the screen stopped registering touches.
If you do some research, you will find that it's a very common issue. Some fail due to impact damage, some fail due to water some other fail without apparent reason.
The LG G2 unlike other devices I've had (which have been submerged in sea water) tend to fail without recovery. Even changing the whole screen assembly does not help since many have reported that the problem comes back after a few weeks or months.
So yeah, kinda bad news I know... :crying:
Based on the title, I thought you are a guru and offering help to everyone who has problem, just let you know and you will help them.
Great!
@berz there are 2 versions of the touchscreen for the g2, one for d802/d805 and one for D800 D801 D803 LS980 VS980 F320x
So as far as I know it should be possible to replace your screen with the one from your friend, so just take out the display+digitizer and put it into your phone, ofcourse if you have permission from him .
@Rayan the G2 is one of the best phones of 2013 but also the most vulnerable to screen issues.
Its sad that your phone is suffering from a slow death because of sweat :/
I think that if replacing the screen and a hard reset wont even good accept the new part then I think that the motherboard got damaged on a weird way. Just like that there is some filter or what which can get replaced to fix some screen issue.
I have a LG G2 D801. It has started getting dead zones on screen. It started with a small spot at top now its 1/2 inch at top and 1/2 screen on left side of the screen.
The phone was not dropped. I took it to service center and they estimated around $270 for screen, digitizer and motherboard. Also the guy said it would heat a lot after the fix.
Obviously I am not going with repair and would buy a new one. Just wanted to know if anyone was able to fix such issue? What was the cost? Can I fix it? Where to get the parts from(I m in India now)?
I am now done with LG.
I don't have a fix, but am interested in this thread as I also have 2x G2 with the same issue

See my long running G2 screen thread guys and embrace yourself!
It's a great phone with an achellies heal...its crappy digitizer
Your best bet is to find a used or broken one (not a broken screen G2 but perhaps a different problem like bad esn) and swap the screen frame over.
That will be your best bet and easiest method to fix your G2.
After swapping multiple brands of G2 screens from multiple suppliers, I came to the conclusion that only an original G2 screen will be a good replacement.
LG makes an amazing phone. If only the digitizers lived up to the reputation.....
