All Nexus devices have received fantastic dev support, I don't see why this would be any different.

Maybe not a noob question but looking at the past and devices with a sd810, what do you think... did Huawei solve te heat issue with their nexus phone? That is my biggest concern about it and camera hump will easy get cover by case, hopefully

we wont be getting any answer until users will have this device in their own hands...
this is same story as the oneplus 2... they say its not gonna heat because of the lower core power combo with the sd810 but some users still experienced heat issues after using the device for some time...
so possible that the answer would ,, yes theres still heating up , or no its cool now...
so again we have to wait for the real world experience...

Will the USB Type C cable that comes with the phone work with my old USB chargers, external batteries, etc? Is the connection that doesn't plug into the phone a regular USB connection that will plug into my computer? I haven't been keeping up with the USB Type C stuff..

Your old USB chargers should work; the underlying USB standard's backward's compatible so it shouldn't have any problem drawing power from older USB chargers that supply the necessary voltage to the device. I have a OnePlus 2 and I'm able to use the accompanying cable with a variety of chargers.

any word on a CAT 6 modem for carrier aggregation ( especially on sprint/Fi)

Just making sure, the phone works with Verizon, right? I know it has all the correct bands. I'll just pop in my SIM and be good to go?

Yes, http://www.gsmarena.com/huawei_nexus_6p-7588.php

AndroidPolice said the device is USB 3.0 yet all the cables they sell on the Google store is USB 2.0. Does this matter? Can I buy any USB-A to USB-C on Amazon and assume it's compatible with quick charge? Any car chargers out right now that can do quick charge?
Thanks!

So I have a concern regarding the 810 V2.1
I have the OPT right now and I'm returning it
I noticed that the 6P has down clocked it as well from 2.0 to 1.8, the OPT definitely throttles when you game for a while and gaming tests have shown this how the phone starts lagging.
Even when you run benchmarks continuously the scores keep going down.
Is this something we should be concerned about? Or is the following happening with the OPT because of how they have configured their OS plus the OPT definitely gets hot when playing games on it for a while.

None of the US carriers are carrying the device. I just want to know if we can use it on Verizon at all. It supports all of their radio bands.

Micro sim (n5) to Nano Sim (n6p)... cut to resize or order new Sim and transfer number?

I've read that even with the open source hardware driver binaries, the nexus devices still typically suffer from issues with custom ROM's like certain features not working. Is this true, and if so why?
I love this phone and I'm looking forward to getting a CM or custom CM based ROM with theme support to make the OS look cool. Personally I find plain Android to be ugly. Better functionally wise but ugly, so a CM based ROM on the Nexus 6P with Project Fi service seems like the best of all available worlds.

I watched the Nexus event live and also it has been confirmed on numerous sites, this will definitely work on Verizon's network, as long as you have a nano sim for Verizon.
I heard of issues with the Moto X where you had to call customer service with your phone info, but even if this phone has the same issues, bottom line is it will work.

Ok when they say "The camera has the largest pixel of any smart phone." Are they referring to the camera sensor itself? I've never heard of a camera component be referred to as a pixel
Either way, I can't wait to get my hands on the 240 fps goodness.

HTC HD2 indeed with TV OUT after all ..... Things are looking good :)

Guys
As many of you have been looking through the threads in the hope of finding a way to stream video onto their HD2's I think that this might be what you are looking for.....
http://www.amzer.co.uk/Amzer-TV-Out-Cable-with-USB-Charging-Port-P82617.htm
Amzer have apparently created a usb cable which actually is capable of streaming video onto TV. They also have a Touch HD version of this cable for those of you who are interested.....
I have been browsing the web for a solution on this ... and this seems to be it....Now I know that there was some other thread which was claiming no tv out for the hd2..well things seem to change after all by time..
Now I really hope that this phone really gets Android or WP7 kicking in properly

It has been around for quite some time. I wouldn't bother with it, I doubt you'd even get 360 progressive out of them, and for that price it's just not worth it.

only issue i have with believing that, is that the hd2 has a different usb port than ALL the other phones it mentions in 'compatibility', yet it doesnt anywhere mention having a mini to micro usb adapter included.....
I suspect (as happens a lot) they have released it as 'compatible with htc phones' and then just found a list of all htc phones to put on the website.
Be great if it did work, mind!
i also agree that this is a simple case of the seller not completely aware of what he is selling!
why? even the ancient HTC Touch is listed as compatible! now surely that can't be true!
its very likely misleading specs, but you're welcome to try and report here if you still feel like it!
Ugh, I hate how retailers are becoming less and less responsible for posting the right information on the products they sell. I would also hope that it can stream from the HD2 (as what I've read how the Droid is able to stream tv out now), but who knows. So many devs here are saying it's a hardware specific problem. I'm wondering about buying one and just returning it if it doesn't work.
I agree, Yes the cable will fit all these phones and therefore it is "compatable"
But the seller seems to fail to mention that your phone might not support video out.
In fact its complete crap, cos he goes on to list things like XDA 2, which didn't have a mini USB connecter, although it did do video out but only with the optional backpack!

Snapdragon processor doesn't support it?
If I'm not wrong, that Droid Incredible micro-USB cable has additional golden fingers (pins) in it to support analogue composite TV out with audio of which the HD2's USB port does not have.
If only the admins could run a script which auto-deletes any thread with TV-Out + HD2 in the title

Oh no, please, be my guest and try it, and report back
I believe this has been addressed on the forums a few times.
Although the snapdragon processor does support tv out, HTC did not implement this in the HD2. What this means in layman's terms is that there are no video channels going from the processor to the USB connector and therefore you will not get any tv out no matter what cable you plug in there, unless its a magic one.
The listing clearly says it is for the touch pro and touch pro 2 devices which do support TV out through the usb connector.

A slightly copy/paste response (I don't think a Nexus 10 can be classified nearly as a phone), but in any case, it seems Samsung (USA) doesn't have any information on it.
Another idea would be to try asking them about a specific model of the cord, but since such a cord doesn't exist for the general public yet... (but maybe the one person who seems to have it will give a model number?)

Haha thanks for the effort espionage724. your phone is not ready yet.. i love it so many new ideas and new products and yet half never make it to existence. I wish they would take some time back or take some more people and that help with the ideas or try not to wait until the last minute. why would they give out demo units and the last minute with these cases. and people didnt like them. I dont care really. Just release the junk design and come out with a new version number 2 or something. that is the think with products. go so far and release it. then the next number. release what you have now and if something comes along better then push that out.
Emailed a different department this time and got a different response:
Called that number, and got to talk to a live person. Asked about the pogo pin charger availability, and he seemed pretty clueless about it (didn't even know about a Nexus 10). In the end he just forwarded me to Play Store support :/ So now I'm waiting in queue and I'll try asking Play Store support about it again.

I was thinking of referring the missing pogo debacle to the accc.
It says on the google play store on the nexus 10 Page under connectivity that it has a magnetic pogo pin charger but there was no such thing in the box and still no accessory available for purchase!

Good luck with that!
It mentions the connectivity, not that it comes with it.

[Q] Why isn't the Nexus 4 capable of USB Hosting/OTG?

deleted
It had better be software, other wise I'm refusing the order when it finally arrives, whenever that is.
While I don't use it all the time, OTG has saved my ass more than enough times at college.
It's definitely hardware -- the USB port isn't capable of supplying the 5V needed for host mode -- and so the software has been removed from N4 Android as well. There is speculation that a powered USB hub, with a patch to restore the software support for USB host mode, might work, but that remains unproven at this point, as far as I am aware.
I guess one will have to install a custom kernel to reenable to feature + StickMount and use one of these so it can provide proper power to the connected device:

Oh Yea? its definitely hardware huh? well do you have a definitive source that says that, are you an expert in the field? This is what grinds my gears, same with the "Expert" who said the Nexus LTE chip was all dormant and useless to the device before someone found out it was a mod away from being enabled on the Tmobile soon to be 4g band. People always want to be the expert with their opinion and present it as fact. The FACT is people are still working on this issue and it has not yet been definitively solved as being software or hardware, Google/LG did change the online manual, but they did that because out of the box OTG wasnt supported, that doesnt mean its a hardware issue, This is what people thought about the One X before somebody found out how to do it, and made these "Experts" look like novices. My point is don't go casting your unsupported opinion and saying its "Definite".
If you read this Topic there are some references pointing out that the N4 doesn't provide the 5V.
Sounds pretty much like a hardware issue

Well, the two "definite" things that I know are that 1) the connector does not provide 5V, as required by USB peripherals (I checked that myself with a multimeter), and 2) the Google engineer's check-in comment from the commit that removed USB host mode support from the software said that the reason was that the phone cannot supply 5V. No one has knowledgeably suggested in any of these threads that there is a software mechanism that would enable the N4 hardware to supply 5V.
If I'm wrong, I will more than happily eat crow (I'd love to have host mode support as much as anyone else). In the meantime, I think it's a very reasonable conclusion that the hardware just isn't able to support USB host mode by itself, although I'm hopeful that some combination of software and external hardware that independently provides the requisite 5V will allow use of USB peripherals.

My Reasons to doubt all this is that the HTC One X was in the same boat everybody said it could't suppy the voltage, but its doing it fine now. Secondly the LG Optimus G is the first cousin of the Nexus 4, it is said the Nexus 4 has the same guts inside as the Optimus, and once again that runs OTG just fine. So Im thinking and hopefull, because I wont present any of this as definitive because I really dont know, just assumptions. And also I've learned with Google employees that in most cases when they dont know the reason they make it up, but hey I guess we really wont know until Google comes out with its next patch/update and see if it resolves the problem because Im sure there are a lot of complaints filed against them, and last I heard there wasnt a recall of the Nexus.

That would indeed be good news -- do you have a reference? I don't follow the Optimus G forum here; when I searched a couple of weeks ago, I found several people reporting failures and no successes, but that obviously could have changed in the interim.

Just checking in. A D858HK user here.
For anyone else wanting to put a quick circle case for their Dual-LTE G3, please take note that the contact points of the D858HK do not align with the wireless charging contact points of the cover. The wireless charging contact points of the single sim variants are on the upper right part on the back, while the contact points of the dual sim iteration are slightly lower and on the left. Plus, the Quick Circle Case for the simple sim units do not close flush onto the dual sim versions.
The question is when we will get lollipop

Don't really have a website for it - I bought it at a local mobile store in Hong Kong
Is there any custom rom for D858HK ?
looks like there is a working twrp img for 858hk
Too bad i am not allowed to post link here
Checking in: I just received my 858HK last week.
The device is perfect, its specification along with the dual SIM was so attractive that I couldn't resist upgrading my HTC one m7 to it. Upgrading from the m7 stupid ultra-pixel camera was really huge
After one week of usage I can tell I am happy with my decision.
The only drawback I noticed is that the model we have is also affected by the screen sharpness isssue of other models mentioned here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/hilariously-stupid-sharpness-fix-t2874587
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/orig-development/fix-stock-kernel-oversharpening-fix-t2951620
I compared the screen with my friend's 855, and the issue is not present in his device. He is on stock rom
I hope our model gets more support on the forum!

I've also tried... Don't think it actually works (My colleague has the official LG Wireless Charging Dock with official cable and adapter, it works for the D855 but not on D858HK).
Nonetheless, it's not recommended to use the wireless charger as it seem to be buggy (hardware?) you can google the issue and read up a bit about user woes...
Are we ever gonna get root support for this phone?
or is the big wait just for lollipop and hope for that be rooted one day?

Yes, I just bought one yesterday and found that it's 10f already and cannot root! =(
I heard that downgrading back to 10d can root, but I don't know how to do this downgrade.
Can anyone advise? Thanks a lot.
Checking in
Dear All,
I just want to check in.
I bought the D858HK yesterday as an upgrade from D805, which I loved, but i needed a dual sim. I choose the HK version because it was a lot cheaper in Hungary.
I am on v10f unfortunately so stump is not working. I am willing to root as soon as a solution pops up.
I am glad that we at least have this forum with you guys.
I am not worried about wireless charging as it is slow and risky be my opinion as well. I hate flip covers so the only issue is rooting and being able to use exposed. I hope we will get a solution or guide soon, It would be a great Christmas gift
Happy holidays to you all!
Kind Regards,
Endre

My sister's Moto G takes way too long to charge with it's original charger. Way over 5 hours even though the device is supposed to be a fastcharge one. If she uses a standard charger from her old phone, it takes about 2.5 hours which, I think is normal considering those chargers don't support fast charge.
Yeah I'm using a Samsung fast charger which is charging from 10% to full in 50mins

It feels too slow for me too. How do you know something is a good charger for this phone? You should look at voltages right?
Does this phone support wireless charging?

I haven't received mine yet but I'm pretty sure it doesn't.

Built-in, no. You'll most likely be able to use a 3rd party microUSB-to-Qi wireless charger receivers that can be found on Amazon for ~$12. Since the G4 lineup has a removable back plate, you might even be able to stick it inside the phone (if it doesn't fit, can just use a case).
Thanks for the responses, much appreciated
I'm excited about mine. I ordered one for my GF and I. I have the Note 5 but they are so slow with updates and I live down here in Colombia so walking around with the Note 5 isn't always the smartest. Plus all I use my phone for is work email, hangouts, whatsapp and skype. I will be getting mine next week and if for some reason I don't like it I can easily sell it down here. I think they run about $250-300 here in Colombia
Should've done some reseach, motorola is also quite slow with updates from what I've heard.

Meaning? Model or phone. In my experience Motorola is as good as most on updates, certainly better than some companies like Samsung.

I've had motos before and they always released before Samsung. Half the time I have to flash third party to get the update before Samsung does the official release. Plus I don't need a $500 phone anymore. I can buy 4 of these Moto g from Amazon for the price I got the note 5 for.

My note 5 was about 4-5 behind in get MM. Looks like most Moto phones got the release in Feb which is only 2 months behind the actual release date

I've previously had Samsung, LG, Moto and Huawei and the Moto's were the best on updating. Samsung was probably the worst but that was probably because they don't push out updates directly and instead let the providers do it. LG and Huawei, seem to make every phone end of life as soon as they release it.
spotify issues?
i'm about to pull the trigger on this but have had issues on my current phone using spotify and an sd card.
can someone confirm that there are no issues saving offline music to an sd card?
Does anybody have "burn-in" problems on the screen? I know it's LCD but the icons on the notification bar burn-in extremely fast. The problem goes away 100% overnight, but what bothers me is how ridiculously fast the burn in occurs. Could my screen be defective?

Terrible gaming performance (Pokemon Go, Hearthstone)
I am experiencing terrible frame rates in the only two games I play on my device, Hearthstone and Pokemon Go. Review videos showed the phone playing 3D games with ease, yet I seem to be having trouble . Is anyone else having issues? I can barely navigate the menus of Pokemon the framerate is so bad.

I've only had mine a couple of days, but I haven't seen that so far.
One question. Does G4 have any restriction in Wifi tethering? The reason I asked is I got burned last time I got a Nexus 6P from Google and it does not allow Wifi tethering unless carrier's plan allows it.
Thanks,
Lyre
