will just be perfect if it included the Qhd and SD 820 .
QHD Yes and no 820..rumor.also to be Karin 950.
Anyway, hope it have some luxury ascented chassis and not the ugly block camera head that rumor going around.
Considering the 820 won't be released until 2016, it's going to be pretty hard to put them into phones released in October.
i'm ok with Kirin SoC if Google outs the kernel sources & blobs so the custom roms can start flowing. The Kryo 820 won't matter until late next year and Kirin's been in millions of devices already without too much trouble.
Hopefully it will be QHD Amoled Screen 6 inches like nexus 6 (2014).

device definetly has the snapdragon 810 i have a leaked system image
Edit: so far i can guarantee - Sd810, ois, multi carrier like shamu, fi compatible, f2fs stock, tmo wifi calling out of box, seperate vendor partition like nexus 9, 3450mah battery
^^ this is alll from digging around the system image
cant guarantee Verizon support at this time though, as all the Verizon blobs are not in the system image, but they might be in the vendor image(which i don't have) we will have to wait and see..

I would have to imagine that it will work for Verizon just like the last one, and the new moto x pure. Also since it appears big red is crippling Samsung pay because of Android pay, it appears those two are in bed together now..

You' saying the filesystem will switch from ext4 to f2fs ? That's pretty interesting. They were rumoured to be looking at btrfs (but that's been a disaster that is still not really production ready after years and years). I remember the original moto x used f2fs, but I thought they switched back to ext4 for the moto x 2015. That made me think f2fs was no longer in the running.
I really hope to dual sim variant of N6P. Could anyone confirm about this?

thanks for the info on f2fs. I didn't know about the Nexus 9. Is it a coincidence that the only Nexus f2fs device was 64-bit, and now it'll also be on 64-bit phones?

honestly..I can't stand my next smartphone heating up. I've owned the Note 4 for a year now and it's driving me nuts sometimes. on moderate use(lets say facebook app for 10 min) you'd stay at the 50 celcius mark. 20min of GPS in the car while driving will make the screen almost burn you..I think the 2.7Ghz was really an overkill for it. anyway if the reports of the 810 were true then it's a pass for me until the 820 with 14nm SoC coming out :crying:

Does anybody know for sure what's going to happen when the Android 5.0 Lollipop update takes effect will the 5433 be automatically be switched over to 64-bit mode or is that something Samsung has to handle on their end? Because it seems to me they'll probably never officially update it to 64-bit mode anyway or am I wrong does anybody have any insight on this?
Thanks
Whatever we are saying at the moment is of course pure speculation. The only source of information that I am aware of is Anandtech (http://www.anandtech.com/show/8537/samsungs-exynos-5433-is-an-a57a53-arm-soc), which seems to suggest that the Exynos 5433 might not ever be running 64-bit. But then again, it is also speculation.

I would not think so.
Even Google released their new flag Nexus 6 with Lollipop as 32bit.
And furthermore, what do you think would happen when Samsung upgrades one half of its Note 4's to 64bit and the other half not...

Maybe they have been working on this the whole time to fix any of the bugs that are left on the tablet!
Excellent!
I am staggered to understand that we are getting Lollipop this month.
This puts us basically in-line with the Nexus line, but for a cheaper point of entry price and arguably better features with stylus and other things like wifi direct controller.

Also it seems that unlike the Shield Tab the Nexus 9 was not built with very good cooling and it throttles itself at some point where as I have not got the Shield to throttle itself yet no matter what I have been playing.

The nexus 7 2013 suffered from this as well. The teeny-tiny mainboard on the left of the screen got scorching hot and topped out at 79 Degrees Celsius for me before throttling started happening. I've not seen any throttling on the Shield Tab on the same games. The max I've seen the temp get to was about 40 degrees.

Yeah Nvidia is quite good at keeping chips cool, one of the best even so it is not surprising. That was a big factor in me picking up the Shield even though I knew about the N9 coming.

Chainfire rooted the Nexus 9 running Lollipop and im pretty sure he didnt have to use a kernel. BusyBox is also updated for Lollipop.
I'm not sure why it surprises anyone that Nvidia would be quick out of the gate to update to Lollipop. The K1 is one of what, 3 or 4 64-bit ARM chipsets out today?
I will admit, though, that I was somewhat unsure when I bought the Shield Tablet as to Nvidia's commitment to keeping it updated and their relatively small presence in Android devices. But given the processing power that is unlocked with a 64-bit OS and games that are optimized for 64-bit, it doesn't surprise me that they are committed to it at least for the 5.0 release. After that, we'll see. But honestly, 5.0 is such a major release that I can see not getting another major update for another two or three years, at which point most of us on XDA will have upgraded anyhow.
As for the question of whether it will be rooted, Android will *always* have a root exploit, and with 80% of the mobile market, there are so many eyes poring over the code to find it that it really isn't a question of "if" but "when".
Just to be clear, the Tegra k1 in the Shield tablet is not 64bit. Nvidia confusingly makes two versions of the k1. A 4 core arm7 (32bit) and a 2 core arm8 (64bit). The Shield tablet has the former, the nexus 9 has the latter.

Same here. I love my Note 4, but thinking of jumping ship at the next nexus release.
I highly doubt they'll remove the micro SD card slot and removable battery. A lot of people in the technology news believe that note will be a pro line for us power users. They're going to keep the S line for the lame end user. Anyway look like the current state of rumors are the note5 is not coming this year and Samsung is going with S6plus variant.

Yes, the update maybe 64-bit optimized but 90% of Note 4s have Snapdragon 805 which is only 32-bit and won't be 64-bit, ever. The only 64-bit Note 4 in the world has the Exynos 5433, which wasn't enabled until Lollipop was released.

Yea, I was just about to post that. Here we go again with the same ****. As much I I love my N4 the 5.0.1 update, even on custom roms drains the battery faster then 4.4.4. I and many others disagree with the [bolded] as in above quote. Personally, due to possibly selecting a good lollipop base, following the instructions, selecting a decent kernel, doing research & setting up the kernel to maximize both performance & battery, along with the addition of a nifty little add-on Mod (found here on XDA) - Lspeed, I am very pleased with Lollipop and won't be looking backwards and look forward to further improvements if that is even possible as again, I am more than satisfied with my current setup. :good::good::good:

Actually when I post here on XDA, beings it's a "developers" site with most conversation in relevance to those that do learn and like to root, unlock, Rom, mod, ect... their devices, I guess I assume too much that I am representing my experiences and opinion to a relevant audience.

With Intel dropping the Atom chips and all x86 chipsets, Does anyone know if Android N will be compatible with x86 platform? I do believe we can't rely on Asus to deliver updates since Marshmallow hasnt been officially released to Zenfone 2 devices more than a year after it was first released. Will there be a CM14 for Intel chipsets devices? Any thoughts?

To be very truthful
No..it will never happen.
MM Beta stock on my zen2 4GB ram version , 1.75 GB and upwards of ram is used starting from clean install.
Heaven knows how far that would work on 2gb versions.
I think this is very hard for the development team and probably the reason why the delay to MM.
CM however , have achieved the equivalent with just over 1GB ram used.
Leave it to the CM team

Mine is doing good, battery is holding up way better than any of my three previous phones (all iphones), which all seriously lost capacity after about a year. I am thinking of passing my 550 on to my daughter to replace her ZF5, which has a broken screen. ZF3 series seems over priced so considering next option at the moment - maybe a Xiaomi or a Vernee Apollo Lite, or maybe spend a bit more for a OnePlus 3 or Axon 7...

Once the 6.x gets out of beta or the Zoom kernel blobs gets merged, we should all switch to Cyanogen since those 3-5 guys cared way more than Asus. For such projects just like Linux, more users= more tests, feedback and hopefully more donations.
As a person who knew Asus since their Pentium 2 motherboards, I lost all my trust and respect to them as a company. Besides build quality, their strength had always been timely BIOS updates, good drivers. They forgot what made them stand out from rest of OEM crowd.

Android N Officially Out for Nexus devices.
zenfone 2 N, no never. Get over it, it works fine on android 5. You just want it cause you can't have it.
Actually, users deserve timely major OS upgrades, Microsoft can upgrade Windows XP to Windows 10 for free. It is OEM companies like Asus with their unneeded, childish and performance killing modifications who keeps these devices backwards. They even put a freaking antivirus from a _very_ questionable Chinese company into their ROM giving it system app status, of course compatibility issues will happen. All those stupid themes with that ugly creature, these things have a price and they & we users are paying it with outdated OS.

And I guess you just pretend to only enjoy using Android 5 because you can't have Android 6?

Why does everyone think they are entitled to free upgrades to a new OS? The phone was sold as a LP phone. There was nothing in the ads or the paperwork that came with my phone that said a free upgrade was included. The only thing Asus HAS to provide is a reasonable warranty. Everything else is a bonus on their part. This sense of entitlement is amazing.
Oh yeah, BTW, that free windows 10 upgrade? It was the first time they ever did anything like that. And it's already over. If you didn't already get it, it's gonna cost you $120 now.

You are right. Its not mandatory but is common sense. And the phone wasn t that cheape.

I think the more frequent Android release cycle is simply Google pushing hard on OEM's, so that they will eventually give up with their customizations and embrace an unmodified OS.
Maintaining security patches and minor OS updates is already a job on its own, if you factor in a new major release each year, either you hire legions of coders or simply give up with heavy-handed customizations...
Which is by the way what ASUS is facing these days, IMO
So I didn't see this mentioned here yet, but Android O preview 1 is now up for newer devices. I'm almost certain we won't be getting it officially when it's final, but thought I'd mention it.
We aren't

Yea, I know the Nexus 6 is past it's update period, just thought I'd mention that it's a thing.

Yeah it is being talked about in other threads as the big worry is that with all code starting to be 64bit only that 7.1.1 will be the death of the n6 and just about every device before it.

I did some searching and saw that, some people are dead set on saying that it will be possible to port it, even saying that there will be 32 bit AOSP as well. but I wanna say it's wishful thinking. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens!

Yeah those that say that have never tried to port something from a 64 bit chip to a 32bit chip. They are assuming that Google plans on supporting older devices. We all know Google couldn't care less about them and it is up to the oem to make it work on their devices.
But only time will tell.

I'll just keep my fingers crossed, but shouldn't get my hopes too high. Thanks Zelendel!
After having my Nexus 6 for 2 years and some months I'm upgrading to a Pixel. I always like to have the newest Android so its time to upgrade.
Loved the phone while it lasted after having Nexus S, Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 4, Nexus 5 and Nexus 6
I hope my N6 with 7.1.1 may hold another couple of years.

32bit is far from dead. Only 64bit preview is out and 32bit will become available when aosp drops officially. Post 8 in this thread explains more https://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/help/android-o-nexus-6-t3576916
