Phone fell about 2 feet getting out of car, which left a long curved vertical crack even with the stock bumper on. Had it for one week, just have the regular warranty. Is my only option to return it for repair, or can I somehow get it replaced?

Assuming you purchased it with a credit card, check with your card company, first. Many have 90-day accidental damage coverage automatically applied to your purchases.
Thanks all for your replies. I bought the Moto Care and already put in a claim. They told me it should go through for full replacement, just needed to wait for the extended warranty to show in the warranty department's system. It didn't show as purchased in My Stuff for a few hours, but it does now so hope to get the approval soon.

Now i get it !!!!!
Ok, now i understand.
There is no video of drop test or any other durability tests done on the Moto X Style on YouTube or anywhere.
I requested a few top YouTube review channels and they also have not replied.
F*** Motorola, making paper knives, lol.
This post has made me purchase Moto care for mine too. Glad you seem to be getting everything sorted out.
I've practically thrown mine three times. I've got two small dings on the bottom corners. It all comes down to luck. Sometimes you have it and sometimes you don't.

Finally got the replacement last week (Monday 10/12) but Motorola really messed up/lost the original claim (won't go into the gory details) which killed ~10 days with no action whatever, but then after escalating to the stateside support tier was quickly given a code to order a brand new phone through Motomaker which I did on 9/30 with expected del'y on 10/16, so luckily it arrived a few days early but the whole thing was frustrating and took over 3 weeks. Returned the damaged unlocked rooted phone to TX with a prepaid label they emailed me, which I'd returned to stock with the tool provided here (many thanks, worked great!) plus replacing the unlocked logo, which was received back with no issues.
Had an Incipio Octane case on hand when the replacement came, which I think gives much better protection than the stock bumper does, and would also use a screen protector if they didn't all apparently suck so far, so am waiting for one that sounds decent. Incidentally, you can change the Motomaker configuration of the replacement when ordering with the code, even add wood/leather if you didn't have it originally (I didn't) and just pay the $25, but I just went with a different back color which you can't see anyway with the case. Was always careful with my phones and never had one break from minor falls, but maybe the larger size/weight makes this one more vulnerable, so now I'm paranoid of dropping it which will probably make me more likely to!
Having had Gorilla glass 3 and 4 on phones....I think Gorilla glass 3 (which we have on the Pure) breaks easier than 4 in drops, but doesn't scratch as easily as 4 does. I have dropped and cracked a 3 screen but never scratched one.
Whereas I have never broken a 4 screen but it sure did get a scratch within the first week of ownership on S6 Edge.
I wonder how "shatter proof" the new Droid Turbo 2 screen will really be??

That's good to know, thanks. I was a bit envy of the Nexus 6p having GG4 but since I'm more worried about scratches than me shattering it maybe it's a good thing the MXPE has GG3. It reminds me of the long-heated sapphire vs. mineral crystal debate regarding wristwatches: Scratch-proof vs. shatter-proof.
I bought the extended warranty for $19.99 but I don't think I'm gonna break my screen so I skipped Moto Care. I have an Octane case on it so it has pretty good grip. Perhaps I should keep my phone on a holster or in my pocket all the time and use an earpiece with all calls just to be on the safe side?
Same 2 ft drop - refrain if you can

I think they need to change the name to *****-Ass Glass.
I tell you, if the new Turbo 2 actually has glass that cannot be shattered (yah right) then I believe all phones will move in that direction. Unless they scratch easily! Of course the insurance companies that make a fortune on broken screens may object! Tough noogies Square Trade, and Assurion!
Today I bobbled my 12-day-old replacement for the first cracked-screen phone that began this thread, and it fell farther than the first time (maybe 3.5 vs 2.5 feet), hitting first on the top right corner then bouncing up while twisting mostly onto its front before landing fairly squarely face down on the concrete garage floor. Still has no screen protector yet, so I picked it up expecting the worst but can't find a mark or scratch anywhere on it after removing the Incipio Octane case. Whether just a lucky fall or it would've broken without the full protective case (was using stock bumper the 1st time), I can't say but think it likely made enough difference. It noticeably bounced a couple inches which didn't happen with the bumper although it was a lesser distance, but I believe the denser more-rubberized case material is designed to do that.
I do feel that this phone's size makes it more prone to dropping, not that I didn't occasionally drop my Nexus 4 (w/Diztronic case) but it was so much easier to grip or quickly tuck into any ole pocket such that there were fewer opportunities. Thus far I'm habitually handling the new phone like the smaller N4, but now must train myself to be more careful at least in certain situations.
This just reminded me of a major flaw in motos design. There is no frame around the screen to protect it. The glass is edge to edge, so the only protection would be a big bulky case; which is a no go for me.
This happened to my moto x 2014, broke the screen froma very small drop. Never had an issue with the original moto x, it's survived many drops without damage
Best of luck this go around
People complain if the bezels are too big or small it seems. The casemate bumper is not bulky and provides some protection.

Hey I'm thinking of getting this over the Nexus 5X mostly because of the JetCash deal till the 31st, but you mentioned that you had yours replaced even with the boot loader unlocked? They didn't care at all? That is my last contention. Coming from a Nexus, it was easy as heck to just restore the phone relock and send it back for RMA. As for insurance I think I might get SquareTrade though I'm considering Moto Care, but scared of the support headache in general that I've read all over reddit. I've also never ever cracked a phone screen or really any screen ever, and the this X made it seem like its more likely but still safe than sorry. As for Android updates I'm sure they won't be too quick to ditch this one as it has zero connections to carriers here.
btw I bought the phone right when BestBuy had it, I basically tested it for a week and returned it. I really liked it but it was only 16gb with 9gb left. I can away really happy. Also I like to use my phones without case, so I might put a skin on the sides for grip but that's it, the phone is quite large as is.

As long as you're careful and don't keep it in your pocket with keys or rocks you should be fine. I've had the G2 for about 2 weeks with no screen protector and it still looks brand new. Also I had a Galaxy Nexus for 2 years with no screen protector (which afaik did not even have Gorilla Glass) and that screen is still perfect as well.
I do have a case on it though.
No screen protector and lives in pockets with change and keys. Screen looks as good as day 1.

I'm debating this a lot.
On one hand it's nice to have some sort of screen scratching protection. I baby my phones and they usually get their own pocket, but with my Galaxy Nexus I did notice a phantom super tiny scratch and set my ocd off being sad that it wasn't perfect anymore. On a side note though the GNex didn't have Gorilla Glass. My Droid 1 did and survived being scratched.
On the other hand these phones were made to be used naked. People add protectors to keep their phone in pristine condition, but what happens after 2 years of using it and upgrading, you just leave the old one to the side and forget about it. The entire time you could have used it in its maximum comfortability you chose to hinder yourself instead. Why take that away? Unless you plan to sell it, then I see a point.
So far I've had a naked screen for about 2 weeks now. No phantom scratches present and it's been a lot more pleasant to use than with a screen protector applied to it. I know it's a risk, but I took it on the Droid 1 and it turned out to be fine.
Naked and loving it

Ive said this in another thread, i dont think it matters much what the glass is made out of but more important is the coating because my HTC ONE would scratch very easy under the same use i put my g pro note2 and s4 through and my g2 is now a moth old and looks like day one.
GNex was lotus glass, iirc. Same specs as GG, different vendor.
I dropped my naked G2 on day 2 onto a parking lot. Picked up a very minor scratch and a chip the size of a pin point.
Mine didn't even come with a screen protector. I've been naked since I've got it (around Sept. 18-ish) and haven't even used the free window cover that came with it. I haven't dropped it or anything but it seems like it would survive. It has some scratches only visible under certain lighting conditions, but invisible with the screen on.
here is the reason i put a case on mine http://www.androidauthority.com/lg-g2-drop-test-282528/
I seem to recall seeing something about Gorilla glass being good against keys, but sand is really bad. Sand is as hard as the screen, so will scratch it. If you live in a sandy environment, it may be more of an issue.
To add to what I said earlier, a case is a must!! The corners are always weak spots.
I run all my phones naked and this one is no exception. While I don't expect it will take the same amount of abuse as my 1G iphone, I'm sure this phone will hold up fine.
ALways naked....always. I wanna touch her sweetness when I play with her and have her brush up against my leg as she sleeps in my pocket.
(I have issues I know)
Screen protectors these days don't add anything to the screen. The clarity and the smoothness are perfect. I can't imagine not having them on considering how cheap they are.
I found that this phone is better with case for me. It is easier to hold, insulate the heat from your hand and that glossy back really gets on your nerve after a while.
-LG G2
My screen has never been touched by bare hands. I had screen protectors already waiting for when the phone arrived. Took off the factory protector and applied this before I even hit the power button. Also using a quickwindow case.
Normally I always go totally bare on phones. But I also used to jump from phone to phone a lot more, and rarely bought new. My gnex was one of my only totally new (albiet subsidised phone). I didnt use anything on that. I had jt near two years, signifancly longer than any other phone, but it looks like hell. Screen has some noticable scratches and all the corners are rough.
Having bought the G2 outright, i feel much more inclined to protect it. Plus, i am certain to sell it eventually, probably in a year or so. Id like it to be as prestine as possible.
Guys take it from me and my cracked G2, which resulted loss of the entire bottom digitizer and get a case. :crying: Though my previous phone (HTC EVO 3D) took drops like a champ and ran great but this one, after 1 not as high drop pretty much killed it..

I've owned several phones ever since my original Droid 1, I've never used a screen protector on any of them and none of them have ever scratched. I treat them well but I'm not overly careful either, I throw it in my pocket daily with whatever else is in my pocket, usually keys. I've dropped most of them several times, I've gotten scuffs and scratches on the edges and backs but never on the screen. I don't know if I've just been really lucky or what but I'm convinced gorilla glass is not easy to scratch. I'm sure it can be done but I haven't had it happen yet, and I can't stand the feel of screen protectors. In my opinion they completely ruin the beautiful screen on a lot of phones. I know many people say you can't even see the good ones or feel them, but Ive never seen one I thought looked good. Just my opinion.

Hi
So here I am, it just happened to me, the back cover of my Z2 self cracked ! I left it on a shelf, inside it's pouch (Adore June case), and when I took it a few minutes later, the back was all cracked.
The phone didn't fell, nio shock at all, nothing. Temperature was ambiant, about 20°c, without any big variations.
So I'd say, for a piece a of technology I bought exactly 555 € 2 month ago, it is just unbelievable, unacceptable !
It was my first Sony phone, and it will be the very last.
Other than that, I was really satisfied with it.....until it decides to harm itself !
Now the good part of the story is, when I contacted the seller, Purnima Digital, they oriented me to their warranty service, who reacted very well and fast. I was about to send them the phone, for free, for an expertise, but when I called them, they advised me to wait, because they already had hundreds of Z2 with the same issue, and for now Sony hadn't accepted to repair under warranty !!!!
They told me they were negotiating with Sony, with the help of a consumers association, to make Sony accept their production deffective issues.
So voilà my story with Sony. I will keep you informed about the outcome, hopefully Sony will take their responsibility.
As soon as I will have my Z2 repaired, first thing I will sell it. And never again I will hear about Xperia phones !
I have a Z2 Tablet, which for now is very well and doesn't seem to want to Crack it self,.....
I have a IPhone 5s for the work, and i will stick to it now. no matter what we think about Apple vs Android, at least I will not have these problems with the 5s.
Good luck with yours !

I'm perfectly happy with my Z2 that I bought right after it was released in my country in May. I have had no issues with it whatsoever and it's still without a scratch even without a case. That being said, if you have accidentally left your phone in direct sunlight it could cause the backplate to crack due to heat. If that is not the case then you've been really unlucky and for that I empathize with you. Good luck with your phone and whatever you choose to do with it if/when you get it back.
In that case here is the next question..what kind of glass is the back + the front one? It would be nice if they start making dragontrail glass for the back at least... :/ Ive heard that many Z Z1 Z2 users suffer that problem.Im quite affraid for mine too :/

Yep ; FYI, i had put on the back the NILKIN plastic film provided when you purchase the Tempered glass pack for the front panel....i was sure the back didn't need a tempered glass as well, and i was confident the plastic one would be OK, knowing the phone will be in a case...
Well now i know that it was not sufficent at all.
It was surely bad luck for me with this unit, even if there are many other users in the same position, but anyway i advise you all to put a tempered glass protection on the back as well.
The anti shatter film was better than any tempered glass protection.
Due to it's malleability impacts get softened.
Replacing the back is pretty cheap <$20 and easy though. Good thing it's not the front...Cost me 100 to buy a replacement LCD.
My screen self cracked yesterday.
After about 30 minutes I had an rma filed with a label on the way, hopefully the techs can see this wasn't an issue of "accidental damage " instead a fault in the design.
Hoping it's fixed and sent back!

My screen cracked itself, too - Sony Germany refused the warranty!
I hope they will get this sorted, soon! It's unacceptable!!
My Z2 has faulty back cover also. It's not cracked, but is not glued properly so the edge near the USB port kinda pops out. I can press and it sticks back but then it pops out again after a while. I doubt it's waterproof. The phone is less than one month old.

This is that kind of phone that needs a case 100% if you want it to be protected and safe for a longer period of time. ( I am from that kind of persons that are using the phone naked (its a damn Z series..u took the phone for its classy look too,but here i can't risk anymore :/ )) Screen protectors from both sides wont save it too.Ive read alot and..too much ppl complaining from cracked Z2s.Too sad that Sony didn't put a Dragontrail/Corning Gorilla..front and back glass.
The back glass on mine self-cracked. It has been in a case since an hour after I received the phone. It sits most of the day on my desk at work, or on the kitchen bench at home. Last week I discovered a single crack across the back panel.
I took it to the Telstra shop and they said Sony will not accept warranty claims for physical damage. I am going to follow up with Sony as this sounds ridiculous. The phone is not fit for purpose. None of the smartphones nor PDAs I have had (going back 14 years now) have ever suffered any damage or cracks.

it doesn't??? OMG that sucks!!! even an original Sony one?
Had my Z2 self crack also the other day... used it and it was fine, checked back half an hour later and the screen was shattered. The shatter pattern is very similar to the pics posted at the beginning of this thread except mine is on the digitizer. It's obviously not from an impact/drop (I know this because I didn't drop it and the chassis is unmarked) but more so because of the pattern of the crack, no bullseye or spiderweb. Even more so because the phone wasn't moved during the time when it cracked....
Needless to say I was extremely annoyed, luckily I had the in box screen protector on so it didn't leave shards of glass all over the place. Just need to decide what to get next, does seem like this is an issue with only a few Z2's, my gf and sister have z2's which theyve dropped god knows how many times and their glass is unmarked, mine on the other hand has never been dropped. Anyway not sure whether to just wait for the Z3 instead of getting another Z2 (don't think I could live without a waterproof phone so that eliminates pretty much everything apart from Sony)
I am from Croatia. My first Z2 was foulty too. It was heating quickly, back glass cracked, wather demaged microfon and wather was all around camera. At first after 5 days I sent it service repair refused to change the phone claiming that this was physical damage. Then I asked for explanation and yelled on them and then they called me after 3 weeks to tell me that they are going to give me new one after long consultation with Sony in Europe.
With this new Z2 I don't have any problems and no quick heating.
On sunday, I pre ordered a 128gb s6 edge on tmobile's website, it arrived on tuesday, and as soon as I turned it on I noticed dead pixels and also i noticed under direct sunlight that the screen had scratches everywhere, i paid almost one thousand dollars for this and I found that unacceptable, so I called TMobile and they said I had to return the phone, wait until they refunded my money and then I could order another one OR I could buy another one and pay for it and return this one. So I just went ahead and placed another order and they overnighted a new phone to me. The phone arrived today, and it also has dead pixels or something black under the display (very noticebale) and also has a really scratched screen. The phone is nice, it works fine most of the time, but my problem is not with the software, it is with the lack of quality control Samsung is showing with this release.
I decided to return both phones, and i will be sticking with my iphone 6 until Samsung gets their act together, I dont want to throw Samsung under the but for a flagship phone, this issues should be non-existent. My advice to anyone that has ordered a s6 edge, is to check your screen for any dead pixels, and to check your phone;s screen under direct sunlight and see if you find any scratches.

Don't be so sure that it's Samsung. Having this kind of issue twice in a row is a more likely sign of mishandling during delivery than an actual quality control issue.
I'd consider trying to see if I could get the device shipped to my carrier's local store for pickup, as delivery companies tend to be a bit more careful when shipping things to businesses than to consumers.
Same exact thing with my s6 edge 32gb. Small scratches allike over the screen.
My new one came today but I didn't open it yet to check.
Wow !! After that I will prefer to buy at the store after the April 10 !

I would find it virtually impossible for the delivery company to scratch the screen. Each phone should have a screen cover installed at the factory. The dirt under the glass or dead pixels with 2 units delivered to the same person is also disturbing.

Oh wow! Mine is all scratched up as well =( Right when I took it out of the box I noticed a pretty substantial scratch on the display. Then when I looked more closely, in more revealing lighting, I saw that I had light scratches all over the entire display. I am NOT happy with this. I will be getting a regular S6 for review when I can. If some of you are seeing the same things that I am, then statistically speaking, this is a pretty wide-spread issue. If you and I are seeing these scratches, it means that others are as well. I will keep a close eye on this.

You'd only find it virtually impossible if you've never been inside of a UPS or FedEx shipping facility (probably the USPS too, but I havn't actually been to the inner portions of one of those). I actually have never received a FedEx package to my area that wasn't beat up to some degree.
When I say that packages are literally occasionally tossed several YARDS across a room, I'm not kidding. And if whoever is supposed to catch them misses, well... what goes up eventually comes down lol.
The use of screen/devices covers only has one real effect, and that's preventing EXCESSIVE dust. Obviously, dust is dust, and you can't just eliminate it. It'll do a bit to stop scratches, but if a bit of fine debris that just so happens to get trapped under the dust cover it can still lead to scratches if the device gets shaken about in the box. And of course it does nothing to protect against impact damage, which is one potential cause of dead pixels.
I want to see what happens when other carriers start shipping. On that note, what courier is responsible for T-Mobile orders?
Edit: I'm also going to assume that everyone around here is aware of the fact that Gorilla Glass is visible to the naked eye if you have sharp eyesight, and that the "scratches" probably aren't scratches if they're uniform and follow some sort of pattern (you'd be surprised how many people thought they had scratched devices in the early days of Gorilla Glass lol).
Any pictures from any of you?
I just checked my screen. Zero scratches. Scared me for a second.
i expect these devices are assembled in vacuumed containers, in a similar fashion to hard drives, as such dust/particles are a non issue and it isnt possible to get dust under one of the plastic covers unless they are tampered with down the line - again this would just be my expectation but i would be surprised if this assessment wasnt accurate.

You expect alot from mass manufacturing/assembly lol.
The kind of operation you're talking about would be more likely to be found when dealing with either small-scale manufacturing or manufacturing of devices that never touch human hands before reaching the consumer. Neither case applies to Samsung devices.

Oh no Both S6 Edges I have received both have the scratched screens. This is bad.
while thats true, it is a proceedure in place for hard drives, they literally will not work if there is a single speck of dust on the platter - if anything at all interferes with the read-head it will scratch the platter and bam dead hard drive.
it is entirely possible they dont use vacuum chambers for assembling phones however, I will grant you that lol
just try to clean the screen !
i thought i scratched my NoteEdge too but after i clean the screen, the scratches are gone !

Doesn't work.
There is no distinct pattern . They go in every which direction. I haven't seen this before and trust me when I say, I have reviewed A LOT of phones. It's strange to see gorilla glass 4 scratching this way. I have had my Note 4 for many months and it looks fantastic. I can see a few hairline scratches but nothing like what I already see on this less than a day old S6 Edge. At this point, I really can't pin down the cause. However, this is not made up. When I was at MWC I saw many, many models and didn't see any scratches on the displays. You bet once this device is more widely released that I will be exchanging mine!
So for those with scratched screens... how have you tried to go about cleaning them? And do the T-Mobile units come with a dust cover or a screen protector? If it's the latter, you might definitely want to try cleaning them as you could just be seeing small bits of adhesive.

There was the standard plastic dust protector. All looked perfect as I pulled it out of that sleeve. Immediately I looked at the display and saw a pretty deep scratch. I thought it was adhesive and I rubbed at it. It didn't go away. Then I could feel it with my fingernail. Next I looked at the entire display in the light and I saw hairline scratches all over the place. Something is definitely going on here.

Mine is black but I can't see that mattering much, unless one particular factory dealt with our models and they were only black...

That's very odd, and does sound like the sort of thing that would happen when there's a combination of an issue with fine debris getting trapped under the dust cover and the device being shaken about during shipping as it's unlikely that such a thing would pass any QA inspections.
The only unusual thing is that you said there was a DEEP scratch, and fine debris wouldn't cause that. Larger debris could, but that would indicate someone just being careless while packaging the device.
There are already cases listed on Amazon but beware as none are legit for this phone. Make sure to match up the cameras and fingerprint scanners to the back of the case.
First legit case
https://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-Invisible-Xtreme-Lightweight-Absorbing/dp/B01JOOECG0/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1477713400&sr=8-6&keywords=phab2+pro
First legit case. Just a simple TPU one. Clear.
Hopefully there will be some portfolio style cases that be used as kickstands. I want to be able to put it on a desk or table to watch video or to use Skype.
That case might actually be the one that is going to be available on the Lenovo website (they say a clear case is coming). I am a bit OCD about my phones and want to have screen protectors and cases in hand when I open the phone box. I would have ordered the phone from Lowes.com yesterday but I really want those items - made specifically for this phone - in hand before opening the phone box. I am assuming that case on Amazon ships from China? I am hoping that in 2 weeks there will be more different options available (now that the phone is in hand for many customers)...

I got these temporary until I find a better one. Hopefully this phone becomes popular so more accessories come out.

I heard that the screen protector type might be an issue because of the way the Pro's display is angled... That maybe the wet install "skin" type might be better? I like this type better - I only used the wet install on my earliest phone - have used this type ever since...
Do the holes on the case you got match up with all the ports, etc. on the phone?
I am actually thinking of waiting until the Black Friday time frame to get mine because I would prefer the Champagne Gold color and I figure by then there will be plenty of case and screen protector choices... But, if not, did your items ship from the USA? Thanks for your time!

Just waiting for someone to see if either of those wallet cases work. No hard otter type cases yet and no cases with a kickstand.

i bought these, and the manufacturer screwed up the dimensions. the width is only the width to the edge of the screen (NOT the bezel), and the height is the OVERALL height (PAST the bezel, will not sit flat because of the raised lip around phone). not even close to fitting properly.
Thanks for the updates using your personal experiences!!!

I ordered the only TPU case that was available on Amazon from Tektide. The case fits perfectly.

Yeah... I see! Thanks for the pictures! I would worry about dust and dirt getting under those edges and sticking - it would look pretty gross... So I guess a thin, bendable or a wet install skin will be the way to go...

I've had a soft case ordered for a week & it still hasn't left China. My phone, ordered at the same time, arrived yesterday. I'm afraid to even pick it up without a case and, when the case gets here, I still won't take the phone out of the house until I get a rugged clam case/holster or Otterbox case for it. With the phone's Lowes Building Supply tie-in, someone should have anticipated the need for a rugged case. I've been a builder and contractor for decades, since "mobile" phones had to be permanently installed under the dashboard, and I know no one who would risk carrying something so delicate on a construction site without the heaviest protective case.
What about it, Lowes? Got a protective, rugged holster in the pipeline for this thing?
Even though I will always be carrying it around in a handbag I want a protective case, too... My fear is that there won't be enough interest in the phone for the "good" case manufacturers to even bother with it!!!

Last night I had my phone face down on a table, and accidentally bumped it off. I heard a thud and looked down to see my phone face down on the concrete floor. Either the Tektide case saved it or I may have just been incredibly lucky in how it landed, but fortunately it was undamaged. Lesson learned though: phone is slick when face down.
My el-cheapo ($0.99) soft case came in from China & it's great! It's clear (vinyl?), covers back & sides, and it's slightly sticky--perfect for anyone worried about dropping their slippery new phone. I'm waiting for a rugged clam case / holster before I take it out of the house but for those of you who don't mind carrying a $500 piece of glass in your pocket, this case will fit all your needs, providing you aren't in a hurry. I ordered mine on a Thursday & it arrived on Friday--a week later. Here's the link to buy:

Forgot to mention, do NOT open the soft envelope that this skin case arrives in with a razor knife ! ! ! ! ! This large phone's large soft case fills the vinyl bubble envelope. When I sliced the envelope open I scratched (sliced) the soft cover inside. Damn. Still works fine but...

You sound like ME! Not even wanting to take the phone out of the house without the proper protection! Lololol! I bought several of those cases... I hope that teenie package will get here before the phone does... Although I still haven't ordered the phone yet...I am still tempted by the Zenfone Ultra... And would rather buy this one from Lowe's. And don't want to order waiting for 3 week shipping... I will definitely get it while I still have a valid coupon code for 30% off a Drops & Spills warranty at Square Trade!!!

Black case now available on Amazon + Qi receivers
This case has the wrong photos, but comments say it fits the Phab 2 Pro perfectly and it's black - better for using with a universal Qi receiver than the clear case.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01IN3MUR6
I have it on order and will report back, though my phone doesn't arrive for 2 weeks (shipping from Lenovo delayed twice now!)
I have a couple Qi receivers on order and will report back what works (or doesn't).
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01L5WC8MY
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GQ3YIDE
These are both for "Type A" micro USB like the Phab 2 Pro (the narrow part of the micro USB is facing the screen).
I bought it 2 days ago, through this 2days' experience, I am really satisfied with its camera as well as the battery. Today when I hold it and it slid out from my hand and then fall down on the floor. I should say the distance between my hand and floor is only 0.3m or 0.4m. But! the screen has been totally crashed!! I never use a phone has that horrible quality. For my last phone, XR, even not crashed from 1m dropped without any protection and the screen didn't crash at all. What should I do? Ask google for help or find some fix shop? That's really a FUXKing day for me!

Call Google. Maybe they will help you out. If not I saw teardown videos and this phone seems relatively easy to repair on your own, if you can find the parts.

The things with screens is it isn't really the height that kills them. It's how it lands that really decides if it will shatter or not. I've had phones survive being launched off my lap and across the parking lot but then not survive a less than a foot drop on to the floor in my house.
Maybe tell google you pulled it out of your pocket and it was smashed. If you say you dropped it regardless of height they will say no

I can second this. I had a phone dropped from my shirt pocket to the floor survive. (A roughly 1.5m drop) The same phone dropping less than 50 cm from my pants pocket to the floor while I was sitting on a curb shattered the screen.
Tbh its foolish not to have the phone wearing tempered glass and a case these days. Even if this is mid range £400 is still £400.

Yeah, my fault, I regard it as a 200 phone...maybe
lol...it all depends on the point of impact..
i have seen phones with gorilla glass 5 also crack when dropped from similar height ..
cant blame the quality, as no screen manufacturer can say or claim "wont crack if dropped from less than 1m".

I'll add my name to the list. Wife dropped her phone from waist height yesterday. Bought on Sunday. Smashed screen. Our Cases are being delivered today. . We have insurance but still. Is Dragon tail glass that much weaker than Gorilla glass?
If you drop weighted glass on the floor 9 times out of 10 it will break no matter the height. If you don't have a case on and it doesn't break consider yourself lucky.

Totally. Not suggesting otherwise but still sucks. We bought at a store that didn't have cases, and had to wait for Amazon.
That said: anyone know the difference between the two glass types? I watched the bend test and thought it was pretty amazing how much pressure the phone withstood and didn't break.

Afaik there are no definitive tests to compare the 2. Anyone who says the dragontrail is weaker is speaking solely on the fact that it was cheaper to manufacture with this instead of gorilla glass. The jerryrigeverything video seems to suggest it scratches at the exact same level of the mohs hardness scale. I think a bad drop without protection is a bad drop, regardless which flavor of glass your device is rocking.
You looked into replacement options? Phone seems relatively simple to take apart based on teardown videos. Maybe save a few bucks and give a replacement a go, assuming parts are available.

It was years ago at this point but there was a video with a dude testing dragontrail and he did the usual crap, hitting it with a hammer, chucking it across a parking lot, running it over, etc.... It was fine.
