Please HELP
I have the same problem, please anyone can post a link of the solution? Thanks

Before I will have the same problem: How do you OTA-update with a rooted phone? - A simple unroot from within the rooting app seems not to be sufficient...
Please help!
Thanks!

I unrooted the phone (via SuperSU), but the update failed. How can I install the update? Anybody?

You have to completely unroot before update. I recommend you to reflash the original ROM, then update. The root comes last.

Can I update System OS after Rooting?

Just rooted my N7 and when I rebooted, I got a message "System Update Available". If I update the system, will I lose root?
Try it and let us know.
from my experience with updating previous device after roooting, you will loose root after the udpate but you can still root again.

But then if I have to root again, I go back to the original OS version, right? So seems like a waste of time?

Rooting and unlocking the bootloader are not the same things. Flash su.zip to root.
If it is an ota update...go in superuser user app and check ota survival and ur root may survive the update

You cannot update a rooted device via OTA - it'll download, but it won't install. You have to unroot to install it, and I don't even think it works. - Better flashing it via Odin, then re-rooting.

New LG G2 OTA Update!!!

In currently running stock firmware but rooted. I'm in the 3 network in the UK. I checked the other night to see if an update was showing and nothing, and I've been checking periodically over the last few weeks.
Tonight I thought I would give it a go and I am currently downloading a 548.36mb update. Does anyone know what this is??

are you running the 4.4.2 update already?? cause if so it might be bug fixes
Nope. I'm running stock 4.2.2. I didn't think u would get it as I an rooted.
Went to install it and obviously that's where NY excitement became frustration. I've uninstalled Xposed and done what I can to unroot the device without a PC and an attempting again.
Is there a way to unroot the phone without a PC?

if you have a custom recovery than you need a pc or alot of looking around for the flashable zips of stock recovery but they have flashables of the 4.4.2 update that are pre-rooted so id say flash that when you can
This does not belong in the Development Section; moved here...Thanks.

[Q] Will software update mess with my rooted tablet?

I just came home and opened up my Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition to find a software update. My Note is rooted and I am affraid of losing my root. Will this update override my root? or is it safe to update? If not safe, how do I ignore the update?
Thank You!

You will not be able to take any ota updates when you are rooted, the updater will see you are rooted and will give a a message like your device has been modified and cannot take this update. But you can Obin flash the update by using this mirror: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2719750 for the update.

OTA will fail if your are not completely stock (ROM, recovery, and pre-installed apps) just edit your build.prop and change everything that says OH1 to OK3. That will get rid of the update notification. It's just bug fixes, not an update to 5.1.1
Just wanted to say I did what you said, and bye bye pesty notification.. And it says software is up to date.. Thank you that was awesome..
