Hey guys,
I've rooted my KF and got everything running. Haven't plugged it into the computer for about a week and now that I do, the KF does not show up and does not even make the dung dung sound when you connect up a device.
What can I do to fix this problem?
I have restarted both the KF and the computer without luck

Have you loaded the device drivers (that come with the ADB method)?

I assume so ... I believe that was required in order to root the KF? Any link on how to do it again in case something broke?

There's a few ways to get to promised land, and not all require the files associated with this process. Worth a shot:
http://goo.gl/05PH4
Also, I assume the device is able to charge using the provided charger? Just checking the actual usb port...
Ya, the cable seems to charge but when plugging into the computer, there is no detection of a new usb device ...
Went through the video step by step. It's actually the same video I used to root. Get all the way till you plug in and have the device detect ... nothing. No where to go from there ...
Any suggestions?
Just connected the KF to a laptop and nothing shows up in the device manager either. No detection at all. WTF ...
Just tried a 3rd computer and no joy. Any thoughts?
This happened to me a couple of times where the Fire wasn't detected by the computer as a USB device and Kindle didn't pop up the mass storage message. After a hard reset it worked fine again. Hold down power for 20 sec and then hit power again to turn on.
Did a hard reset and still no luck ...
Just tried another cable ... it's not the cable ....
Can anyone offer any insight?
Have you tried a factory reset back to stock? Something somewhere is messed up, and it would end up being needle in haystack time trying to work out what the problem is. It shouldn't take too long to put things back to how they were post reset. If if doesn't work when stock, then you have potential hardware issues.
It's possible that one of the data pins is having issues on the Micro USB connector, especially if it still charges.
Looks like the USB port is hooped. It just stopped charging ....
Hi!
Yesterday I was trying to connect my GS4 with a nightly build of the PAC ROM from back in November to my computer and I did something stupid, I unchecked both the MTP and the PTP boxes. Now whenever I connect my phone to my computer (Windows 7) it acts like it's only charging. I looked for some option in settings to turn MTP back on but I can't find anything. I also tried rebooting the phone, turning it completely off and then on again, taking the battery out, connecting it to a different computer and using a different USB cable. Can anyone help me? Please be nice because I am already aware that I did something very dumb but I did it because I was trying to get something else to work.
Thanks in advance.

No worries, been there myself
Hi all, I've found that when I leave my Player on sleep for a while, I am unable to wake it back up. I've tried pressing the hardware button, the remote buttons, etc. The led is on, but there's no output or sound response from my TV. I have to unplug the NP and plug it back in. Probably a user error, but what's the process to wake the system?
Thanks in advance!

I am experiencing something similar, it started with restarts, then it would not boot without the button on the bottom and now it says no signal. Tried connecting it to the pc, pc installed drivers, and if you unplug a cable it says cable unplugged.

Bumping as I still haven't found a solution.
yep, mine does the same thing, every day i have to reboot it as the screen is black and the device is unresponsive
MIne I have to unplug the HDMI and plug it back in then magically there is a signal. I tried setting never go to sleep and that did not hep. Did anyone upgrade to 5.1.1? does that fix anything?
Bump. Got mine a few days ago and the same thing happens.
It's still on and running. It's still a little warm under the button. But no matter what I do with the remote or button or TV, nothing happens. The only way to get it back up is to unplug/plug the hdmi or power cable.
I've got the same problem, but I've unplugged everything and still nothing, tried different TVs, Different HDMi leads still nothing. Going to contact Ausu or go back to where I purchased it tomorrow. was loving catching up with Game of Throne haha

You think it's just a defective device?
Maybe I should return mine as well.

Quoting you so you get a notification
Did you find a solution? Was it your TV, HDMI cable, or the unit itself?

Still no solution. Tried 3 different ROMs and it's the same thing with each one. Could it be a firmware problem? I mean I shouldn't have to reboot it every time it goes to sleep. The hardware button on the bottom has no effect. I'm slowly giving up.

Hey, sorry for the delay, been busy.
But yeah I got my new nexus. Rang Asus with some struggle as the serial on the product wasn't matching up on the system. Useful haha
Then they said it would take 29 days to get a fix or replacement.... I then said I'll take it back to where I got it which in my case was Argos.
Took it back told them the problem, girl looked at me completely confused. Think I lost her at bootloader haha. But I might as well tell them how to explain to do a factory reset which I couldn't do anyway. Then got my replacement. Which I'm leaving in the box as I want to be a geeky guy and do a unboxing video this time haha.
I found if you turn the TV on and off again it will work.. no need to get up and pull the HDMI cable
I noticed this issue didn't happen with 5.0 but happened with 5.1.1 so I'm hoping a new update will fix it.
Random question but on 5.1.1 how do we get sideloader? As I can't find it on the store
Doesn't matter was being an idiot.

A sideloader? If you are asking how to sideload, you boot into the recovery and then choose install from sideload, then use the "adb sideload" command.

That has absolutely nothing to do with this thread
LOL
Also, you sideload using ADB
Turn on USB debugging, install the ADB driver on your PC, then use the adb command "adb install apkname.apk"
No need for root or recovery.

This doesn't work on my setup. But pulling the HDMI cable works.
This problem appeared on my Nexus player about a month ago, it was working perfectly until that time.
It looks like a problem with the HDMI CEC. Even if I put my NP in "Never sleep mode" as soon as I turn off the TV it will not then wake when I turn the TV back on.
Well, in my case at least, that is not accurate. When I turn the TV on, nothing appears on the screen nor is there any audio, but the NP is still responding to commands and working. I can blindly start a YouTube video from the highlights section while the TV is still "blanked" and when I toggle the HDMI cable connection the I can see that the NP was functioning "correctly" other than it wasn't outputting anything to the HDMI port.
I would say that the "fault" is just likely to be on the TV not implementing HDMI CEC correctly, but everything WAS working correctly until recently and the only changes are on the Nexus Player side of the equation.

Haha I know told you it was random yeah I did that after I sent it. Couldn't delete the message sorry haha
Problem solved?
Before you take the device back to the store, I believe the problem is the TV; even those of you who tried multiple ones. I did the same thing; tried a different TV. However, in my case, it works. When I hooked mine to a newer TV, the device wakes up fine. I read in other forums (searched "HDMI won't wake up device") and to my surprise, there are other forum where people complained about the same with other devices. Apparently, something related to the HDMI port (maybe the version of HDMI?).
Don't know if anyone can help?
My PH-1 has died
Had some issues with UI stuttering and tried reflashing original rom, but kept getting failed to write errors.
After many attempts I was worried the battery was low. So I powered down. Then when I plugged the phone in to charge, no charging indicator or led showed.
I left it over night to see if it would charge anyway.
Next morning I tried to reboot, but only got a micro second green LED flash and nothing.
Maybe someone will have an idea?
Thanks
Leave it charging overnight.
In the morning connect it to a windows PC while you keep the Vol-
Check Device Manager in windows and see if you can see the device as QHSUSB...
If you can see that there is hope. Let us know
Ok, will give it a try.
Thanks

Hello All,
I was using my one plus 2. I got this message on screen that 'Shutting down'. I tried to start again multiple times but no luck. I tried to plug in the charger while the device is switched off that also didn't work. However i get message on screen that "Device temperature is too high". I'm getting this message whenever i plugged in the charger. Device is pretty cool not sure why i'm getting this message.
Please share how to fix it. Let me know if any more input is required.
Thanks in advance.
It's most probably the temperature sensor broken or another hardware problem.
did you solve this problem bro? im having the same issue.

You can try to flash this (if you can still reach TWRP):
https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/module-disable-thermal-throttling-t3517882
If it doesn't help, there is a file in the zip "system/etc/thermal-engine.conf", you now have to find out which sensor is not woking (use adb for this) and disable it in thermal conf (no idea on how to do that)
Please use google if sth is not clear
