So, Android Pay is beginning to roll out. I didn't feel like waiting so I followed these instructions: http://www.techtimes.com/articles/82851/20150909/cant-wait-for-android-pay-heres-how-to-use-it-on-your-smartphone-now.htm. Also, because I'm rooted I had to disable root through Super SU in order for cards to be verified.
I have a couple questions/remarks:
1. I can't add my Chase Sapphire card. That seems incredibly strange as Chase bank is supported (and it's a Visa). My Target Redcard (it's a credit card that can only be used at Target (not a Visa)) cannot be added either which is super frustrating.
2. I can't seem to get the "Thumbnails" of my cards to show up. Currently I just have a list of the last 4 digits of the card and the type of card that it is. In a hurry it would obviously be easier to identify by an image of the card rather than just the 4 digits.
I'm wondering if either of these issues have to do with me doing a hack/workaround or if anyone else has had similar experiences.
I've included a pic of the "non-thumbnail" view.

disabling root to verify the cards didnt work for me. it may be because of being a custom rom. are you on stock rom?
I'm on the "stock" Lollipop ROM that someone modified to work with our note 4 dev editions. I think it's by @hsbadr. Also using his Multisystem kernel that has the fix for auto brightness. So you went to the settings tab in Super SU and unchecked enable root? Once a card is added you also have to authenticated it using one of the methods they suggest. Possibly by calling a phone number or logging into an app.

Not sure if this helps, but I'm stock (5.1.1) rooted on the Nexus 6 and I had to use RootCloak in order to get Android Pay to work (verify cards).

Is yours showing thumbnails/pictures of the cards?
I have the Note 4 DevEd with MOROM 6.5. I have tried this with SuperSU turned off, as well as Root Cloak (added Google Play Services), and still my cards are not getting authorized when going though Android Pay.
Screenshot the error

I'm partially incorrect. My debit card verifies with no issues, but a credit card won't.

So I made sure the most up to date Google Play Services was installed.
http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/google-play-services/google-play-services-8-1-14-2244331-238-android-apk-download/
And Android Pay.
http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/android-pay/android-pay-1-0-102576552-android-apk-download/
Use RootCloak and added both Android Pay and Google Play Services. Even tried temp unroot in SuperSU.
But I keep getting this error:
Do not install the xposed module called No Device Check. It will put your phone into a boot loop.

Im on Stock NC4 firmware and i get this message "This SIM card is from an unknown source".
How to get rid of this message because i use a different sim and im rooted.
Go to notifications in the pull down menu... press and hold the notification until you see "app info". Click that then click "force stop". This pops up every time you restart your phone so this is one way to get rid of it.

You can freeze the setup wizard app too then it won't pop up after restart any more. I use the titanium backup app

Another option is to use Xposed Framework and the NotifyClean module. I use it to hide the ongoing notification for my Gear watch.

Which Sim card did you get from straight talk? ATT, T-MO, or VZW?
I have the VZW Sim card. I tried the ATT Sim carf only had 4G no lte b/c n900v can not support att's bands. I tried T-MO Sim super fast lte speeds but I had horrible coverage. I now have the VZW Sim excellent coverage but lte speeds are capped at 5.5.
Hey there. I have a rooted Sprint Galaxy S5. Recently I realized the WiFi Hotspot I'm paying for just doesn't work. It enables. It allows devices to connect. It remains turned on. But any device that connects to my phone fails to achieve an Internet connection.
Yesterday I took my phone in to a Sprint representative who spent a valiant amount of time trying to fix my phone. Unfortunately when he entered ##72786#, the phone started an update process that completely screwed up my activation. I believe he later reprogrammed the phone, but the S5 is still obsessively trying to "finish" activating.

(fun fact: right now when I google "reporting firmware version to server ", nothing is returned. Maybe this'll put it on the map.)
When it's done trying, I see "firmware update not completed."
I've been seeing these messages since yesterday. And I hadn't no idea if any of this has to do with my device being rooted. Rooting is really all I've done, no ROMs or anything of that nature have been attempted... only SDFix and SELinux Mode Changer were run using it.
But I HAVE had activation woes before. When I enabled tethering on my phone, it took the better part of the day for sprint to reactivate it. And I was flying, so the process took several major cities before its success. And this was well before I rooted.
Tl;dr is it possible to use the stock Hotspot and reactivate your sprint phone while rooted with your device in a Custom status?

I'm probably just going to factory reset my phone. Is it safe to do when rooted?

Yeah, it's safe. I've never heard of such a problem so let us know if it works after f.resetting it

I did it via Samsung Kies... this seemed safest. I used to have negative experiences with custom ROMS and ultimately decided this was the best way to go forward.
P.S. Kies is like iTunes but it doesn't suck and it doesn't require a whole lot of authentication. I just learned this. I did a text message backup and restore and that worked great. An app backup was a lot more hit-and-miss; only the apps were backed up, not the data.
So you fixed it this way? ☺

Hi I've been a longtime iPhone User, Since the first one infact and the new 6s didnt really impress me so I decided to jump ship and try the android world. I was always a jailbreaker and I decided i was going to root my phone to get the benefits but I ran into a problem. The root went well but since I rooted my phone wont remember Wifi Passwords. If i leave wifi on and leave my house and come back its fine but if I switch Wifi Off then I have to re enter the wifi code. Is there any way to fix this? If not is there an easy way to unroot and restore?
Thanks

It's a very easy fix you'll need a build.prop editor which you can find on Playstore then open your build.prop editor and change ro.securestorage.support from true to false then reboot you'll have no problems after that. I've attached a screen shot to show what it should look like

Thanks man that worked like a charm. Any chance you could tell me what you can do with a root? I did it for adblock but can't seem to find it anywhere and all the stuff from xposed installer don't seem to work for me it says framework not updated or something like that.

I have my Samsung s4 sprint version rooted unlocked etc all that jazz and on red-pocket carrier. I used their sim card now the phone don't recognize the sim card. Also I keep having issues with the google play services error. Also bad battery drain. I am on the stock deoxed od2 rom with stage-fright patch.
so my question is for all those looking and not answering or trying to.
1.any ideas why this phone wont recognize the sim card?
2. any ideas why I have such bad battery drain?
3 why does my g4 still say it has stage fright vulnerabilities if I did the patch/fix.
4. what could cause the google play services to not work.
5. what keeps a s4 from flashing a boot animation?
im shocked no one has a answer or idea

First thing I would try would be to flash pure stock and make sure your sim is recognized/activated

1. Sim card could be bad, hardware could be bad.
2. There are a million reasons, check your battery usage to find which apps are using the battery. You can also try getting a new battery.
3. A new vulnerability has been discovered that has not been patched yet.
4. Again a vague question that could have many answers.
5. Samsung uses qmg format, if you hop to my Wicked X thread in post number 3 there is a converter that allows you to use zip format.

EDIT: Problem solved! I was using v2.7 linked in an obscure youtube video. I used 3.0 and now it's all working just fine.
AT&T - The Xposed installer says when I open the framework says "Xposed is not (yet) compatabile Android SDK version 22 or the processor architecture (arm64-v8a)." I cant install the framework with means I cant use the Xposed tether app.

Not necessarily so, ability to tether can be controlled by the carrier. On a stock phone it is quite possible that the ability to tether is restricted depending on the your terms of service.

Yes, but this phone is NOT carrier branded. Shouldn't it work regardless if the carrier has a tethering option? Daughter's phone is not rooted. Uses a Verizon Sim card. Has unlimited data. She can tether her tablet to phone without issues....
The Moto X Pure stock firmware will not allow me to tether either. It says my plan does not support tethering. However on the Moto G 3rd gen, it does not seem to do this check, and tethering works fine. Unless it has to do with the SIM, since the G3 uses a micro, and the X uses nano.
