How to remove "This SIM card is from an unknown source" - Verizon Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Im on Stock NC4 firmware and i get this message "This SIM card is from an unknown source".
How to get rid of this message because i use a different sim and im rooted.

Go to notifications in the pull down menu... press and hold the notification until you see "app info". Click that then click "force stop". This pops up every time you restart your phone so this is one way to get rid of it.

You can freeze the setup wizard app too then it won't pop up after restart any more. I use the titanium backup app

Another option is to use Xposed Framework and the NotifyClean module. I use it to hide the ongoing notification for my Gear watch.

Which Sim card did you get from straight talk? ATT, T-MO, or VZW?
I have the VZW Sim card. I tried the ATT Sim carf only had 4G no lte b/c n900v can not support att's bands. I tried T-MO Sim super fast lte speeds but I had horrible coverage. I now have the VZW Sim excellent coverage but lte speeds are capped at 5.5.

How to restore cellular service

I've recently installed Lollipop GPE 5.0.1 and noticed that I no longer had cellular service. I then reinstalled stock 4.4.2 (NG2). I still don't have cellular service. When I go to Settings/Connections/More Networks/Mobile Networks, the Network Operator option is greyed out. Also, the cellular icon has a red X over it. Any ideas how to update the cellular service? By the way, my SIM is for RingPlus (a Sprint MVNO) which has worked fine on this phone prior to my installing Lollipop GPE. Any hints would be much appreciated
Update PRL and Profile in Settings/System Updates. If that doesn't work, dial ##72786# in the dialer. This did a network reset.

Will that give me knox? I am trying to avoid that if possible. Also do you have a link to a stock rom.

Android Development... All ROMs are there. Why are you trying to avoid Knox? It won't prevent you from doing anything.
Sounds like your baseband is not compatible with your ROM/bootloader..

If you have root, Delete LteConfigs.apk in system\app (D802/5/6 only) then reboot.
Make a backup just in case.
Maybe possible if you just disable it too in Settings, App manager (if possible?)

@IrfanCore Thank you for your help! it is really working now! This the power of co-working.
I've deleted the LteConfigs.apk, but still dont have the LTE option

Then I think you need to check your APN settings.
Check with your operator.
If that doesn't work, look up lg g2 service mode.
I just remembered I had to set to LTE in service mode while I was on LG stock.
Is it possible to do it on custom ROM? I'm using Candy5 ROM, but can't get LTE to work. Any advice?

How do I get fee free data tethering w/o Xposed? I do have it rooted!

EDIT: Problem solved! I was using v2.7 linked in an obscure youtube video. I used 3.0 and now it's all working just fine.
AT&T - The Xposed installer says when I open the framework says "Xposed is not (yet) compatabile Android SDK version 22 or the processor architecture (arm64-v8a)." I cant install the framework with means I cant use the Xposed tether app.

Not necessarily so, ability to tether can be controlled by the carrier. On a stock phone it is quite possible that the ability to tether is restricted depending on the your terms of service.

Yes, but this phone is NOT carrier branded. Shouldn't it work regardless if the carrier has a tethering option? Daughter's phone is not rooted. Uses a Verizon Sim card. Has unlimited data. She can tether her tablet to phone without issues....
The Moto X Pure stock firmware will not allow me to tether either. It says my plan does not support tethering. However on the Moto G 3rd gen, it does not seem to do this check, and tethering works fine. Unless it has to do with the SIM, since the G3 uses a micro, and the X uses nano.

How to get rid of 'SD card For transferring photos and media' notification at boot?

Hi everybody,
I've this notification that pops up at every reboot on android marshmallow 6.0.1 on my Note 4 International N910F (build: Alexndr.N910FXXU1DPE1 xposed / deodexed):
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",

}
I know it is a well know marshmallow issue, but since the ROM is rooted, maybe there is a work around to hide/disable this notification, or even all systemUI notifications (I don't need them, no OTA...) ?
Do someone know how to get rid of this notification ?
My card slot works properly, I only got this notification on startup, I already tried disabling SIM Toolkit notification without luck...
Thanks
This notification can be hidden by xposed modules such as Firefds and Notify Clean
hmmm.....thats weird
I only got that notification once, at the very first boot after flashing ROM.
its gone after that.
I think it's dependent on the rom build #. Someone posted in another thread that the latest release DPE3 doesn't show the sd card notification during start up.

Non-rooted 910c
Any idea on how to hide it on a non-rooted 910c on 6.0.1?

The latest India n910g release 6.0.1 DPE3 doesn't have anymore this sd card notification after every boot. Probably it will be the same for n910c on the next update.
But with gravity box in one tick is done.
And this notification appear only one time when you boot, just delete and no longer have it.

This was a bug they have fixed it on the newer 910C rom's
I flashed N910CXXU2DPE6 with a BTU (UK Unbranded) CSC yesterday and its fixed

G App install walkthrough

Hello all,
I see people keep asking how to get G Apps on MIUI, and most answers I find lacking so here is (I Hope) an easy walkthrough:
First go to the additional settings:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Second click on privacy:
Third click the unknown sources:
Fourth go to the default tools folder and click on download:
Fifth turn off Xunlei download engine and set downloading to Unlimited (i know it says mobile data but i couldn't get the install to work without this step).
Sixth find the MI app store icon, mine was in the tools folder, launch the mi app store:
Seventh type in google in the search bar you should get the below screenshot. click the secone one (green one)
Eighth you should see the below screenshot result.
Ninth you should see the below icon installed
Tenth you will see the below screenshot, click the big blue button.
this is not a click and forget install, it will install 6 things but the installs are on you and pop up , each time one pops up click install and then click done once it completes.
Eleventh step: find the security app, click permissions. find the below circled apps and give them most of the permissions.
And then lauch the Google Playstore, by clicking on the playstore icon. I hope this helps. please PM me, if you see an error or post if you have a question. I will try to answer asap.
