Just today I went to cast something on Netflix and noticed the cast icon wasnt there (I have 2 chromecasts). So I tried rebooting the chromecast but it still wasnt there. I grabbed my wifes phone and she didnt have it either. So I download the official Chromecast app and it cant find any devices. However some apps can still see it... for example Play Movies can see them and Allcast. But Youtube, Netflix and Play Music all do not show a cast button.
I then checked from my laptop and it works normally.
Anyone else experiencing this? I'm guessing its maybe an update or something?
Oddly enough I was chatting with a friend and he had the same issue.... I rebooted my Wifi access point and now I can cast using everything again... very odd.
The only thing we both did recently was install Videostream
I have a Nexus 5 (4.4 stock). No Exchange accounts configured. I do use Pushbullet and NILS adn also have a Garmin GPS paires via Bluetooth.
I bought a Moto 360 so installed Android Wear. It started crashing instantly. I rebooted - same thing. I uninstalled/reinstalled - same thing. I can successfully launch Android Wear for like a minute directly after rebooting and then it crashes and proceeds to show the "Unfortunately , Android Wear has stopped." error like every 30 seconds. I have managed to pair my phone and watch but using my phone with this constant pop-up is more than just a pain...
Any ideas ?
Hi,
I have the exact same issue since this morning.
I have a MOTO 360 for more than one month, paired with a Nexus 5 (running KitKat) and everything was running fine ... until today.
I know have this "Sorry, Android Wear has stopped running" message every 30 seconds on my phone.
I've remove/installed Android Wear (client), factory reset my watch, removed developer options, the Bluetooth association... It does not help.
Android Wear won't start and I can't connect it to my watch. But the message is still here, again and again.
I suspect that the very last update of Google Service play is behind that (this thing is the worst part of Android) but I can't sort this issue.
Have you been, by chance, able to sort this issue?
Thanks,
M
I'm having almost exactly the same problem as you aimache. I've got a moto 360 paired to my Oneplus One, which is running on Cyanogenmod 11S.
I've had my moto 360 for 3 weeks and it was working fine, until suddenly about two days ago, the android wear app started crashing and I'm now getting pop ups on my phone literally every few minutes to tell me that "Unfortunately, android wear has stopped". If I try to open the android wear app it crashes after 1-2 seconds, so I can't do anything in it at all.
Oddly, the moto 360 seems to still somehow be pairing with my phone and receiving google now cards, but isn't getting any of my notifications like emails, texts, or calls.
I have no idea what caused the issue, but it's very frustrating and I would love it if someone could find a fix!

I've just cleared the cache of Google Play Services in settings, and that seems to have fixed the issue. I can now open the android wear app with no problems and it's not crashing at all any more.
Fingers crossed it will continue to work :fingers-crossed: So try clearing the google play services cache on your phone and hopefully it will fix the problem for you too
Well I've tried clearing the Google Play Services cache but no luck...
Me too
Just wanted to add to this thread - having the same problems with Android Wear app. Bought a Zen watch, Android Wear crashes before I can even get it paired. I get to the screen about "select your device" see the watch and usually get as far as getting the pair request on my watch. It never completes the pairing. Sometimes crashes right away, sometimes a few seconds, sometimes 10 or 12 seconds but never yet successful. Have tried clearing app cache and app data. Will try uninstall/reinstall with reboot between but not very hopeful.
Kinda sucks cuz the watch is useless without. Hopefully it IS just an app update and we'll have in a day or two. Otherwise it goes back
Nexus 5 running 4.4 based Cataclysm rom.
Yesterday Netflix made me reset my password due to some "suspicious activity" they detected. Today, I opened the Netflix app on my Nexus Player, and it said it was unable to connect and gave me some obscure error code. I figured it was probably just related to the password change, so I cleared the app data, thinking i would be able to simply log back in with the new password. Now, whenever I start Netflix, it just sits there with the Netflix logo and spinner going and going...
I have tried clearing data, uninstalling, and rebooting the device in-between all of these attempts. No matter what, it never gets past the spinning logo screen. I have left it up over 30 minutes. Curiosity, when I check the app details, it shows over 100M data used by Netflix, indicating that it is apparently downloading *something* while it's sitting there.
I can use Netflix from my phone and tablet just fine, and even cast the screen to my Nexus player (though native Netflix casting never appears as an option).
Has anyone ever seen an issue like this? I've been using Netflix on my NP without issue for well over a year. This it's truly bizarre.
Curious if anyone has had this issue on their Nexus 6P. I myself haven't, but my manager is. Casting from the phone only works in YouTube and the cast icon on the phone itself. If he goes into Google Play Movies, Netflix, Playstation Vue, etc., the cast icon doesn't show up. We tried the Chromecast here at work and the same thing happens here for him. We've tried it on a 1st and 2nd gen Chromecast and still nothing. I wiped the cache on his device and after the reboot the icons came up in the apps, but he stated that when he went home they were gone again. Still YouTube and the cast icon on the phone itself stay and work.
He has reboot his Chromecasts at home and factory reset them numerous times. He has uninstalled Google Cast and then reinstalled the app. This is happening on any Chromecast whether at home or at work.
Any ideas and if you've had this issue how did you fix it?
He hasn't factory reset the phone as he sees that as a last resort type of option.
I have 2 nexus player that I had not touch for a few months. They both had been updated to Oreo a while back. I'm experiencing an issue while on the home screen it keeps cycling and refreshing. Once in a while I can seem to get it to stop if I take the battery out of the remote. This normally happens after I access an app (kodi) and then go back to the home screen. These was working fine a few months back and both player is experiencing the same symptom.
Not sure what the cause is but did a factory reset and it seems to have fixed the problem. Odd that it was occurring to 2 separate unit.
