[TRICK] Improve Moto E camera (Autofocus Problem) - Moto E General

All of us are surely disappointed with our great Moto E's camera as it doesn't have autofocus and we can't capture sharp, clear pictures of newspaper, books etc etc etc....
Well, i just found a workaround to improve "text pictures"......and well, that "great amazing" thing which will be used for this purpose is.....**hold ur breaths**.......a simple water drop...
Yeah, u heard it right.....camera quality can be improved a lot by just a water drop.....
Procedure is easy, just tap a water drop on ur camera and then "adjust" it a little bit on the camera and u'll get a nice pictures of texts, newspapers etc...(atleast i got).....
Here, i'm attaching two pics, one without water drop and other, after "adjusting" drop......See the difference...
P.S. :
We can also use a magnifying glass for the same purpose....it also works just fine....
***FOUND THIS POST SOMEWHERE ON FACEBOOK... can't remember where..!!! So, credits goes to that original "inventor" of this "great tweak"...!!!
Enjoy..!!!

Great trick
Thanks,
It works

The only downside is that it comes with a little magnetic ring you have to stick onto your camera. It's nice in that it will help protect your camera but it does make it stick out a little further and it seems like something you could lose very easily.
niiice, i love those fly shots!
can we get some pictures of it on your evo? or a video of how well it stays on?
Very Nice
Wow...that was awesome. Thanks for sharing.
I thoroughly enjoyed that.
that was amazing! i just ordered my macro lens yesterday. can't wait to fiddle around in more depth with my evo's camera!!

I'll try to take some pictures tonight. The little magnetic washer seems to stay on pretty well but it's not completely solid. The magnet in the speaker is enough to pull on it and is constantly moving it just slightly. It's on there securely enough that I don't think it will fall off easily but if it got caught on my pocket or something it might not last long. If it doesn't bother me after a while I may glue it on there permanently.
The lens itself magnetizes like a champ. I think the magnetism is stronger then the glue so you have to sort of slide it off to avoid pulling the washer off rather than just yanking it away from the phone.

Front Facing camera cloudy...

So my front facing camera has so much crud behind the glass I cant even use it. My phone is in perfect shape and ATT says its not covered under warranty.
Anyone else have this problem?
it happens, if you're comfortable taking apart your phone you can clean it i guess. it's because there isn't a proper guard inside the speaker (you can take a look at it, it's just a hole in the screen; particles of dust slide into it with ease)

Try using compressed air to blow out the dust particles. It usually works.
If you do get it cleaned out an Otterbox or some other case like it will reduce the chance of getting dust in it again. To be completely honest the Atrix's front camera sucks pretty bad, compare it to several other phones ffc side by side in the same light and you will see how horrible it looks. In low light you might as well not even bother, while other phones in low light dont have the same prob. Anytime I vid chat I have to sit in the one chair in the room with a standing lamp and aim it on myself otherwise it looks like ****.

If you use compressed air, make sure the air quality is very good, with no moisture/water in the line.
there was a known issue a while back cant remember when, but if you have a certain type of screen cover was doing is other wise if its under the corning g. glass you will have to find a way to remove it which im assuming is glued on clean the under side and put back on i would assume

Call Motorola. Then you can send it in to them and they fix should fix it. Because you have a 1 year motor warranty, not AT&T warranty.

There is no problem to take xrays while the phone is tuned on.
But I don't see little green robots.
What you see in the first picture is:
the back camera in the middle of the picture
the front camera in the upper part of the picture (left)
the jack plug in the right-upper part
In the second picture you can see the metallic Samsung Logo from the back of the case, the speaker on the right upper side and the USB plug.

Try bombarding your phone with X-Rays, maybe it'll grow a third core!
This is really cool.
I would love to have more like those as wallpapers for my monitors.
Actually, top left, first image is the earpiece speaker, not the front camera, that is waaaay off to the left.
Nice job though, nice to see xrays of this thing.

Xperia Z1 drop test

Post if you have done the same.
Disclaimer: Not for faint heart. Do not try this..
It hurts bruh!!
If you are thinking of doing this, wait for the killer at the end...glad to know I will have a nice looking paperweight if I drop it 3 times
But nice find.
But I'm really impressed with the vertical drop, where the speakers landed first. I expected the chassis to be filled with dents and holes from the rough surface. But damn our phones are sturdy man!
"Post if you have done the same"
Seriously, who in their right mind would do this on purpose to this piece of beauty
I'm actually surprised it holds so well (well, except for not working afterwards anymore hehe).

Of course the video has been edited, shots from different angles have been put into one video... not all footage is equally interesting. But edited does not mean fake... I at least don't see any reason to believe this would be fake.

Anyway he could show us in a wide angle how the phone fall from his hands and how the phone hit the ground then turn it on.
I think it's a bad review and misleading peoples.

I don't like that video. As have been told, they didn't record it straight without video cutting also they didn't show if it works between falls, they didn't try to call if problem is only with display. If I want to guess what is wrong with that device I would rather say that only ribbon cable don't have good connection than device is broken.
You should understand guys that these people are sponsored. They might be getting so much from apple or sammy or lg, or even nokia. They need to make the competition look bad so that people would look the other way around. Sometimes they use these kinds of diversion "Oh I'm really surprised that the phone is holding up so well. The screen might be broken, chassis is junk, back plate/plastic/glass is also broken, but on the lighter side the phone still works flawlessly." ORR "This phone works quite well, but I just can't accept the fact that the loudspeaker isn't good enough."
About the loudspeaker diversion, they're just looking for something negative for their closing remarks. Because that's what usually sticks to people, the closing remarks.
Well, and one should always remember that one instance is no guarantee for other instances...
In these drop tests it can matter quite a bit if the angle in which the phone hits the pavement is just that bit off, or whatever other random influence. It is just AN indication, some ppl drop their phone once and it's immediately shattered. Others drop the same phone 10 times wth only minor dents as a result.
But my response was mainly because people shout "FAKE" or "PHOTOSHOPPED" at just about every video or picture posted on the internet, it was nothing personal @gm007

SEVERAL TIMES? Dude, no offense, but are you retarded? after the first time, did you not think to yourself "maybe this isnt the best place to put the phone"?
And for the people saying about being fake? what? why would it be? a) the unit was probably free from sony anyway.. if not then b) the views they get on youtube for that video most likely pays for the cost of the phone. and c) they do this drop test with most of the phones they review. so remind me again why this could be fake?
The reason they didn't show the phone working after each drop, is probably coz it broke after the first drop, which meant that there was no point in carrying on with the drop test. And they wanted to carry on with the drop tests. That's all!! Stop with the bribing nonsense.

Misplaced Rear Camera!

The 6T just arrived yesterday, it felt really good 'cause I was coming from the ages old OnePlus One.
And boom! I had this feeling that the camera on my phone is misplaced. Both rear cameras are not in the centre, they're a bit above the centre.
Could anyone please help here? I just got one friend out here who has a 6T and comparing the two I do see some difference.
Should I care about this misplacement? I'll get a replacement if I report it within 10 days so yeah, do tell me if anyone knows about this and if I should really care and report it or is it not a big deal and just fine. The phone is perfect - those cameras work perfectly, I tested them individually by the tests in *#808# and both work.
Attaching some images of my phone and also one that I found on the internet (which I feel has the same issue?).
I've marked the cam in yellow and the asymmetrical hollow space around it in green.
(It's the 256GB model by the way)
isnt that what OIS does?
the camera moves inside its aperture
i thought it was by design
Quick visual assessment of my device appears the bottom camera is up a tiny bit and top is down a little. If I get a chance I'll throw my phone on the metrology imaging device at work and verify if my eyes are playing tricks on me. Regardless I don't think it's anything to be concerned about.
Checked mine they are very close to centered as you can see in the picture. The dots in the center of the circle represent the center of each circle. Probably hard to see though.

What are you talking about? That has nothing to do with this post
To op;
At first glance I thought you were probably seeing things but after looking at your pics it does seem pretty clear that the camera units are not 'properly' centered in the frame...
It's really up to you as to whether you want to RMA for a replacement. I had to replace mine for different reasons and am glad I did but if they are functioning properly, as you say they are, I might just not bother with replacement.... Definitely weird situation though.
Is it making a drastic difference in the image quality of the photo?
If not, then I wouldn't worry about it.

Ah, yes. I know that the 16MP camera above the flash does move 'cause of OIS but I've seen the top one exactly centred on other phones. Looking more precisely, I saw that the rest position of both the cameras is a bit above the centre (of course both, because they're mounted on one board).

There's absolutely no change in the image quality. The cameras are not broken or anything, just misplaced.

I showed it to multiple local repairers and all of them suggested to not go for replacement if I had to use the phone for important things, back then. I spent a lot of time testing both the cameras at the back thoroughly and they had no problem at all. I didn't do anything! I did not get it replaced. I can still see my cameras are misplaced but there's no issue at all. Top class photos and videos, used a lot.
So I can close this with : If you're concerned about your camera's positioning, go get your device replaced. If you're concerned about it's functioning, don't. They're 100% fine. :good:
