Looks like best buy is giving best deal on note 5, free wireless charger (the one for S6 not new wireless fast charging one) and $200 gift card on trade in of old smartphone.
Pre ordered mine but they are not shipping early as at&t is doing.
Edit:
Looks like I got best deal of all
I got
free wireless charger
a $200 dollar gift card for trade in (my phones value was showing $1, which I purchased on ebay for $30, moto g verizon postpaid)
and a $45 gift card from this deal http://www.bestbuy.com/site/promo/sm...e-offer-143828 (I know the deal does not apply but still BB guy went through)
I used cards to pay for 30% down payment and taxes

They told me in store that it was actually the fast wireless charger, will need to clarify.
Ordered mine last Friday. For a value of 249.00 its worth the wait.

Anyone know what kind of limitations there are on the '$200 credit for a smartphone trade in'? I have an old Galaxy S3 and HTC Evo 4G floating around. Would rather not part with my current Moto X when I upgrade to the Note. Would like to keep it around as a test/backup device.

I am a Samsung Experience Consultant at a Best Buy and asked the Mobile team at one of my stores the other day about the limitations. As long as the screen is not cracked and it can power on, you will get the $200 gift card. One of them also told me if I didnt have an old smartphone, to just buy their $20 Verizon pre paid LG Optimus Exceed 2 and just trade that in. LOL
OH, one limitation, It cannot be a blackberry... Haha

If that's a fast wireless charger then it would be great but by looking at picture of ad it doesn't look so. They have posted SKU number but I have not been able to search anything using those. Previous chargers (which is out of stock) has different SKU, so we can hope.

AT&T is doing $200 off with a smartphone trade in and as long as it meets $10 on their trade in calculator they will give you the money, regardless of if it has a cracked screen. My LG G2 with just a cracked screen is worth $19 according to the calculator, however the headphone jack is busted and cracked so according to the calculator it's worth $0, but if it was JUST a broken screen it would have qualified for the $200.

Yes but at&t told me I have to spend all $200 on accessories (they did not have one for note 5 also) on that day only.
The wireless charger that is being given out is the current non-fast charging pad. If you read the fine print, it specifically has a SKU stated which is the same one being sold in stores currently.
As for the trade-in offer, the phone must be a postpaid type smartphone, and cannot be one that is prepaid or commonly sold on prepaid.

What phones were they? I feel like there isn't a clear description of what these phones need to be. One best buy told me it has to me the current phone on my contract, another told me it couldn't be older than a galaxy S3.
I have a Moto X 2013 I've had to use as a backup phone a few times. Looks like I would only get about $75-$100 on eBay. I might just trade that in. If I ever need a backup phone again, I'll just buy something for $50.

It only has to be worth something, go to bestbuys trade in page and look up any phone you have or wish to buy as trade in. As long as it's worth some sort of trade in value you'll get the full $200. It doesn't not need to be any phone currently on your plan, it does not need to be a phone on your carrier. Just has to be a working smartphone that you'd buy from a carrier "postpaid" basically any phone you'd buy with a 2 year contract. I did this last year for the note 4. I trade in my parents old Verizon Samsung fascinate it was worth 15 then and I got 200. And I have AT&T

I assume since this is going to be sold through Best Buy, similar to that of the nexus being sold through Google, that we can't get this on an installment plan is that correct?
Or is there a way to put this phone on our bill? I don't mind paying for the phone but it helps to be able to spread the payments out. Maybe I'll see if Best Buy will approve me for finance through them.

They have a deal that if you make a purchase over $299 there is no interest for 12 months. Thats not bad at all. You have 12 months to pay off $529 if you buy Nexus S at full price.
i'm not even sure if bestbuy even officially sells tmobile phones. Every one I go to sells only att, verizon, and sprint. They don't even offer tmo phones through the official website afaik. I only see tmo prepaid -_-

You are correct.
Check out Best Buy's Nexus S FAQ for answers to questions like this: http://mobileaccessories.bestbuy.com/samsung-nexus-s-accessories.htm
Selling a Nexus S with an even more + plan does not mean the you will be able to use the T-Mobile Equipment Installment Plan, they are 2 different things.
To the best of my knowledge no 3rd party retailers can access EIP so you would have to do any financing through Best Buy.
best buy is NOT able to do the equipment installment plan. even in Best Buy locations that sell T-Mobile.
youre not purchasing the device from T-mobile when you buy from Best Buy, so why would you slowly be able to pay it off to T-mobile?

There goes my only hope on purchasing the nexus S. I'm glad you answered this though i've been trying to get this figured out before I sell my vibrant. I was told differently from the nexus S support line. I will just hold off selling my phone and go to the location on the 16th to confirm yes/no to make my decision.

I believe he either does not have a qualifying upgrade or does not want to buy it on contract however wants the phone in which case your best bet would be the waiting game on craigslist or ebay.
I'd advise against Craigslist or Ebay. I had to get two replacements from Best Buy before I got a Nexus S that operated normally. If you get a phone off Ebay or CL with an unresponsive back button, you're stuck with it or you've got to sell it and try again.

I agree, I never buy things off ebay for that reason but at least with Craigslist he can try the phone before buying it (or at least you should always try before you buy, if they won't let you don't buy it).

Again, I'd say play the waiting game with Craigslist. What phone do you have now? Might be able to sell it and get some money for that and cut the cost of the Nexus S down. Alternatively, there are other phones out there that are cheaper off contract will function just as well.

I have both of those phones.
If I could only have one, it would without a doubt be the Nexus S.
I paid almost $700 for my i9000 last July.
Here's some math to help you feel better about buying unlocked.
If you were able to buy it at the discounted price, your total cost of ownership would look like this:
$199 Nexus S + extra $20/month over 24 month Even More contract = $680
If you buy it unlocked, your total cost of ownership looks like this:
$529 Nexus S, no contract on Even More Plus = $529
Even if you're on Even More right now, you also qualify to drop it down to Even More Plus if you're more than 12 months into your contract. So it may look like it's a lot of money up front, but you're saving more in the long run and won't be under contract.

I thought you're only allowed to do this for the iphone
Sell your current phone and buy a new one full price from your carrier.
Alternatively, buy a used one from someone here on xda who will inevitably feel the need to upgrade to the Developer Edition, despite us having custom kernels and custom ROMs working on our consumer models.
I wouldn't trust Craigslist, I've seen quite a few threads about stolen phones bought on Craigslist getting blacklisted.

Not sure about in the US but up here in Canada with our retarded 3 year contracts heres what I did (not my first time). I get a second phone line on a new contract for the new phone, do a number swap ($20 carrier charge) post on Kijiji (craigslist) looking for someone to take over my contract (carried the 2 phones for a total of 6 days). I just got rid of my Galaxy S2 (i9100) NOT LTE or HD that was on 2 1/2 contract by paying someone $50 to take over the contract. I would have gotten $300 or less for the phone outright which is no wheres near the cost of the S3 outright or the early term on my old contract ($550). The time before that I had an iPhone 4 with 18 month contract left on Rogers I was looking for someone to take over and them pay me for it (asked $75), they just wanted the contract (no idea why) so they took over the 18 month contract for free and left me with a iPhone 4 off contract I turn around and sold for $350.
If you're not under contract with Verizon and really just want the S3 I'd say look at other providers if you're into or want to at all mod your device - load custom roms and such...The VZW S3 BL is locked down, but if you have to stay with VZW, dont bother using your upgrade, buy the Dev edition...yea it costs full price but it'll for sure have a better resale value later on as opposed to the locked one, if you just want the phone and are fine with touchwiz then just buy it at a store.

This was discussed quite a bit in the Verizon Pre-Order thread ...
Add a line and get the SIII. Then, call Verizon Customer Care and downgrade the line to a feature phone (which you probably already have lying around or can purchase for minimal outlay) with no add-ons. Then, switch the SIII to your current line, which I presume already has a data package attached to it.
[Another poster told VCC that the phone was originally for his grandmother, but that she was overwhelmed by the smartphone and preferred a barebones phone.]
Surprisingly, Verizon will allow you to both keep the phone and downgrade the new line. I know, I know ... it defies reason. But apparently, it has been done. In any event, you are stuck with the additional line and all associated costs (.. $9.99+fees/month ..) for the duration of the two year contract.
If you do the math, the cost of a subsidized SIII 32gb obtained this way (over the two year contract period) = $249 + ($9.99/month)(24) = $489, and with taxes/fees/surcharges, will likely end up well over $500. In all reality, you should be able to find one for outright sale for about the same amount.
Or, better yet, wait until the quadcore version becomes available.

I walked into AT&T ready to pay full price but somehow managed to walk away only paying on contract price even though I wasn't eligible for an upgrade. That said, had I actually paid full price, I would still love it just as much and would still be extremely happy with my purchase. I paid full price for both my HTC One and my GS4 Active and this thing blows both of those devices out of the water. As for how long I'll keep it, that depends on what's coming down the pipeline. I switch phones VERY often. I can definitely see myself sticking with this phone longer than I did the One or the GS4 Active though. It is quite the upgrade from the Galaxy Nexus, that's for sure. The GNex isn't in the same league as the Moto X.
You must be making the big bucks to be able to off-contract phones new all the time.
I bought my GalNex for $350 new on eBay about a year ago... I was hoping to get more use out of it, but at the same time I'm not disappointed I "have no choice" but to buy a new phone
That's some luck to pay the upgrade price, I doubt Verizon has overlooked any loopholes there...

I make a decent living but I also use craigslist to my full advantage. I was able to sell my HTC One for $500, and my year old iPhone 5 just sold for $500 as well.
Yeah, I don't know how I got it for that price, but I chalk it up to the ineptitude of the 4 representatives at the AT&T store that took over an hour to figure out how to sell me the Moto Maker card. Something happened when they were making the sale that caused me to lose LTE on all my devices for a few days, and I got an upgrade when there wasn't one. Now the LTE is back on, and I got the phone for less than half of what I was expecting to pay. Sometimes their stupidity can work to our advantage
I would definitely pull the trigger man, you will NOT be disappointed. I feel that the Moto X is the perfect marriage of hardware and software, just like the iPhone is. You have never seen Android run this smoothly before. It is the best possible representation of what an Android phone can be nowadays. Or any smart phone for that matter. I've been through A LOT of phones (including the GNex), so I feel I am qualified to make a statement like that

ATT sales people are jokes most times, I'm looking to sell my HTC Vivid once my X comes in, ATT says they'll give me roughly 50 for it, don't see anyone on CL offering more.

Just looked at them, they have sales on the Vivid's father (Inspire) but none for Vivid and they're only offering 35 to sell it now.

I found a few Vivids in my extended area being listed for $100- $150. I'd toss it up for $150 and hope that you get it sold for $100. If you can get it unlocked you might even get the $150.

Anyone get a non motomaker one from AT&T? I did, and now I kinda want the motomaker custom designed one. Only problem is this is my only phone and I cant do the motomaker unless i returned mine first (and sat without a phone for 3-8 days)

Fist world, off-topic problems.
But I'd return it, if you font like your Moto Maker X you can exchange it for free.

I kind of want to, but that would involve buying a nexus 4, returning my white moto x, getting the card, waiting for the motomaker x, then selling/returning the nexus 4
Oh, and theres a $35 restocking fee plus another $50 in the extra 32GB
I paid full retail for mine on VZW.com. I'm going to keep mine until the Developer Edition drops. Then I'll get the Dev Edition and swappa this one.
I plan on keeping mine for 18 months or so. Maybe even longer. Unless VZW gets a Nexus. Uh - but I'm not really worried about that. Lol

Maybe swappa your current X once you buy the Dev ed?

bought mine a couple of days ago, full retail on at&t.. the agent was like, "you sure you're gonna buy it off contract?!?"
lol
Those that bought off contract, why not order directly from moto maker? Did you just want it right away?

this.. lol i can't wait to get my hands on one.. and i might order one for my friend... that i will do the motomaker as i really want the yellow back with red accents.. and i'll give her my white moto x..
Well I have Verizon, Moto Maker isn't an option yet.... But when it is, if they let me buy off contract from Maker (I heard AT&T and Verizon don't let you) , definitely.

So I preordered mine over the phone thinking I was using my JUMP upgrade and inquired about my return label to send back my s5 and they told me they didn't do JUMP upgrades on the phone, it was treated as a regular upgrade. She told me I didn't have to send my phone back and could keep both so long as I continue to pay for both EIP.
I only have $300 left on it so I plan to pay it off and then sell it for $400-450. Talk about lucky (after a not so lucky preorder with the note 4). Anybody else have this happen to them? I'm wondering why JUMP is even worth it then if I can just finance the phone, upgrade whenever, and then sell the old one to pay off the EIP.

Wouldn't it be more economical to do square trade or whatever it's called instead of paying $10/mo.
Meh, considering it's an $800 phone if it even looks at me wrong I'd use jump to warranty it.

From what I can tell, JUMP is pretty much only a good option for people who don't want to go through the hassle of selling their phones.
i had the same thing happen to me. when i first joined tmobile i got the nexus 5 coming from a sprint note 2. the screen was just too small for me and i wanted to trade it in, but wasn't eligible to jump for another 2 months. the lady at the t-mobile store got me a note 3 and just added the EIP to my account. i then sold the N5 and paid it off. the best part was i was able to jump at my original 6 month anniversary and not 6 months from the note 3 purchase.
Just got my note 4 and need to send back my m8. Wanted to know if tmobile only needed the phone or do they also need the accessories that came with it? I want to keep the extra charger. Thanks.

Square trade? Isn't that the Costco thing? Or is that just square trade hooking up with Costco to do a deal thing... but anyways the reason I am going to get JUMP is because of the accidental protection but it does come with things like theft tracking and the upgrade thing which I don't know if I am going to use those *shrug*
but if there is more accidental coverage companies out there I would like to know, I know of the Samsung deal where you pay like $100 for like a year or something but the sdevice turn in is like $75 instead of like $50 for jump I think I look it up again

You can buy a square trade warranty online as long as it's been less than 30 days since you bought the phone. It's $99 for 2 years coverage but the deductible is $75. It won't pay your EIP off but you can get it fixed locally and they'll reimburse you or do overnight shipping for repairs/replacements. It covers all kinds of accident and damages but does not cover theft which is why it's cheaper. You gotta send a device back to get a fix or replacement.
The jump deductible is $175. I would only see it being beneficial for a stolen phone replacement/upgrade. Other than that I think ST is a better deal.

thanks. I forgot to mention I did my jump online. so they sent me the prepaid envelope and was trying to figure out if I should just put just the phone or the phone in the box into the envelope and send it out. I did my 1st jump in store so I did what u did but I gave them the original box and all the other accessories.

1. What's EIP again? Haha sorry...
2. So Square Trade seems so much better... thanks for replying and info I will look into that!
3. Also this might be off topic sorry if so just pm the answer I guess... but how does stolen devices like phones work say you don't have the theft protection you just what file a report with local authorites and “they'll watch out for it” granted you probably have like the IMEI, serial numbers etc... and if they do find it you get it back yeah? Haha

EIP equipment installation plan (if you finance your phone).
I had my s4 stolen in April (good excuse to upgrade to s5!) and passed along my IMEI to the police. They report it to a database that pawn shops use to prevent sales. You can report it to Tmo to block it from being used on Tmo but unfortunately, they can flash it to other carriers and sell it through other means such as Craigslist or Ebay. Never got my stuff back

How was the JUMP process online?
I am thinking about doing it. Was it easy?

simple and easy just follow the steps and sign the new eip agreement, checkout and pay whatever fees then have to wait for it to be shipped. Didn't have to deal with a retail sales person.

Finance the phone?... you mean the monthly charges if you didn't pay for the phone fully? If so yeah I expected to pay that even if I didn't have the phone (physically) lol...
Anyways yeah that sucks but I just read an article about top things note 4 users should do when they get their phone and the first thing was to set the android device manager or something but it can be used for locate your device and also you can do other things like reset pin, full wipe, etc.. but my favorite make your phone ring for up to 5 minutes loudly so you can annoy the thief(s) xD but really the location of the device should come in handy if you do it right away don't wait like a day or something you know, ASAP when you lose your phone

They offer non-jump insurance for $2 less than jump. I had to remind them of that when they twice tried to Jump me without my consent.
I was able to jump my LG G3 to note 4 even though I only have my LG G3 for 2 months(paying monthly btw). I thought I have to wait every 6 months or pay half the price. Good thing I asked about my availability date to JUMP!!. Can't wait for my Note 4. back-ordered
No with JUMP, you can upgrade whenever you want. T-mobile will only pay for half of the phone that you're turning in. If you didn't pay for half of the phone then you'll have two EIPs on your account.
