So a week ago my phone stopped sending texts and at the same time started putting US area codes in front of all my numbers. I managed to get the area code thing to stop by turning off assisted dialing. Then I went looking for the sms centre number to see if that got messed up as well. But there is no sms centre option in the message setting menu. Any ideas?
My phone is G900V unlocked, rooted with Safestrap and SuperSu. Android 4.4.4 stock NK2. I am using a non-verizon simcard in Kenya, and texts had been working fine for the last year with the same sim card. I receive texts just fine.
Edit: I guess what I'm asking is:
1. How can I edit the sms centre number on a stock G900V
OR
2. If I switch to to a custom rom like Alliance, will I be able to set the sms centre number?
I'm having a similar problem. Only I run MOAR on my Verizon s5 and I have a TIM simcard in, as I live in Italy. I know this is an old thread but maybe a bump will help. I dled advanced signal status and tried that way, with the TIM smsc number, but that didn't seem to help.

Hi,
I am using the O2 xda mini in India.
THe problem I am facing is I came to nepal for my vacation, and with the network service providers here, I cannot make or receive calls. The phone registers properly with the network. I can receive and send SMSs. THe only problem is with the calls.
I tried hard resetting the phone. I played with the call forwarding/waiting settings for a while and it started working BUT i wanted to copy number from the old sim, i inserted the old sim.. copied the numbers and inserted back the new sim again. And it has stopped working again. I tried hard resetting, playing with the settings. Can someone enlighten me on this.
PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS.. CANT MAKE OR RECEIVE CALLS while I CAN SEND / RECEIVE SMS.
Thanx,
amit

Did you try inputting the international dialing code before the number?
If you are going to be in India for a while it might be best if you purchased a SIM chip there to go into your phone.
Also, your phone IS unlocked, right?
Hi I'm jayus from Indonesia. I have HTC Ozone Verizon. I have unlocked it and used it with my local CDMA and GSM operator. I have two problem about the phone.
1. When I'm in GSM mode, if i dial '081212345678' the call would not connect. However if i try dial complete number like '+6281212345678' the call would connect. But if I'm in CDMA mode I have no problem about this, I can make a call using direct number like 081212345678 and the call would succeed. I have turned the assisted dialing on and set the the reference country to indonesia, but the problem still exist.
2. When I'm in CDMA mode, everytime I try to send SMS the phone would automatically change the destination number from ex 08129500140 to 01108129500140. Looks like the phone always add prefix 011 to the real number. So I always failed to send SMS. But the problem didn't exist in GSM. In GSM mode I can send SMS successfully and the phone did not add prefix 011.
What's wrong with the phone? Need help please..!!
Hi,
This is interesting cause i have the same problem with my
Touch pro 2 from VERIZON.
I made a thread about it, follow it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=5854877
I was thinking this might be something in the verizon stock rom so if you flashed
to a rom that wasnt stock from Verizon you wouldnt have to deal with it.
I havent got this confirmed yet.
Keep me posted if you find something
I dont know about cdma i only use gsm.
I hade the exact same problem as you and I finally solved by disabling
assisted calling in registry settings
Last night I tried to send an SMS, but it wouldn't go, so tried to make a call and it just wouldn't!
So I tried to call me number only to get the message "Calls are not currently being connected to this number". If I turn my off and try to call it it goes to voice mail etc.
I have tried a factory reset, but its still not working. it thinks it has a network, and my internet works on the phone. also, the SIM works fine in another phone...
anyone got any suggestions, I'm going away over Christmas and really need my phone to be working.
If the network is refusing to connect to that particular handset it suggests something a little more sinister.
Just to confirm, SIM in DHD does not work, no sms, no calls. SIM in another handset works fine.
If this is the case, then your DHD may have been IMEI network blocked, i.e. reported lost or stolen. Did you buy the DHD from new?
For a small fee you can check to see if your DHD has been reported lost or stolen > CheckMEND
That's right, SIM doesn't work in DHD for SMS's and Calls, but does in my other phone, but HSDPA does work.
the phone came directly from T-Mobile, I called them but they we're very unhelpful, didn't ask anything or check any thing, just suggested sending it away for repair!
I'd get it replaced. Sounds very odd. Have you tried another SIM card in it? Its probably SIM locked, so you'd need to sort that out before you can try.
Just to fill you all in, I eventually got this sorted! only took three weeks!!!!!
What happened was, the phone T-Mobile sent me doesn't match the box and paperwork it came with, the IMEI and Serial numbers are different.
It now transpires that the idiot who has the matching phone/paperwork/box etc. lost their phone and reported it stolen, so when he gave them the phone details, he (or she) gave them "my" details resulting in my phone being blacklisted!!!!
So they have now un-blacklisted my phone and updated the details on my account. still no explanation as to how it happened, but at least my phone is working again.
So I've been searching and searching but haven't been able to find a solution.
I called Sprint before I left and they actually unlocked my phone without any issues.
Got to Australia and got a SIM card.
Changed my Network Mode to Global (GSM + CDMA)
everything seemed to be working but SMS will not send. When I receive SMS they always have +61.
So I dug a little deeper and noticed in About - Status my phone number is still my old number from the states. As is my MIN number.
Forgot to mention I'm on CM10.1.
Someone help me please!
Service code? reflash TW ROM and update profile?
What's my move here guys? I've been messing around for hours and getting no where.
I never tested the phone out when I first got it, but I checked to see if it was unlocked by putting in a new sim card. Seemed to be unlocked. I did the "root" method on here to flash back to an older OS which worked for what I needed it to do. But ever since I got the phone, calls are constantly missed (I can use another phone to call this mobile and the mobile won't ring, it'll go to voicemail), my calls are constantly dropped, I rarely can call out, if I am able to call out the other person might not be able to hear me. The only thing that works well is the texting. I use Ting as my provider and have spoken to them many times because the original problem was that I couldn't access my voicemail and it kept giving me a mmi error. They gave me the voicemail number to directly call which I've been doing to get around the error of using the built in voicemail system. They've stated verizon phones aren't the most compatible with their system and they suggested maybe the sim card isn't functioning properly. I've spoken with their customer service at least four times over the last 8 months but these problem never really went away.
Anyone have any idea what I can do? I need a reliable phone now for phone calls. Should I try flashing back to stock 6.0? Or do you think it has nothing to do with what I did to get the "root" on it? This is the guide I followed:
