New supported devices like Galaxy Note 4 910C Exynos? - Omni Q&A

Hello and thanks for developing such a good ROM for Android!
I'm looking for info specific for Note 4 910C, Exynos. There's any prediction of when it would be available?

Exynos devices? Unlikely. Developers hate them.

That's really bad news... So good results with a Galaxy Note 2 N7100.
Not a bad hardware, but without the great work from OmniROM team I'm feeling abandoned.
I'll never lose my hope that one day it will be supported, among others. In the meantime, would you guys, a lot more experienced than me, recommend me another ROM for this specific model?

I don't think anyone has supported any of the Exynos5 variants well. Yeah, sort-of "supported", but not WELL.
The hatred opensource developers have had towards Samsung has been no secret since late 2012, Samsung devices, especially Exynos 4 and later (Exynos3 was great due to being used in a Nexus. The Exynos 5250 in the Nexus 10 was vastly different from all of the other 5 variants), are the last ones you want to buy if you want consistent and reliable community support.
Samsung has made a point for years of NEVER using the same SoC in their flagships as they do in Nexus devices. (Nexus S was the only exception to this, and that was their first Nexus.)

I love how its showing pictures of the note with Samsung scratched out of the box! This made my day! Buy a note and not a cheap knock off.

Thanks guys I already have a note, I wanted something to mess about with rather than fork out for another note, cheers for your help
I love some of the wording in the description, plus some strawberries make it look nicer.

Icon/logo/idea maker

Hi all on XDA
I have always liked to make digital pictures in Photoshop and so on. So I just wanted to say that if you want some icons or pictures for your ROM I will gladly help. I'm not a real pro but I can make real good stuff sometimes the only problem I have is that until the 16th of August I've not so much time. After that I think I've time, so if you want just PM me

As a graphic designer myself, may I put in some advice? Get a portfolio of your work going. If you don't have anything/want to try something new, start working on some projects for major ROMs, even if they won't be used. It allows people to see how you envision the brand and identity of that particular piece, and it showcases your talents and technique (obviously).
Perhaps start with the biggest, CyanogenMod? With codeworkx releasing the experimental build of CyanogenMod 10 for the Galaxy S II less than 24 hours ago, it's a great opportunity to start!

That was a great idea with cyanogenmod 10, I'll do that and also upload some of my resent work, if I find it.

If this notice is true it will be a shame for Samsung's side. They want to put many smartphones and tablets in the market but they can't update all so they invent stories like these. All my android's equipments are Samsung but Tab Pro will be the last equipment from this brand! And i bealive that are more people thinking like me.

I am also never getting another samsung device...if they tease their customers like this. They must just hate repeat buyers. But really, it they did release the update, it would be throttled down to encourage sales of the newer tabs. This is what I believe they did with kk. Why else would the tab s have no lag, and ours have lag on every screen change with the same hardware? Dirty tricks! I am done.
Device Support 3 years. We have to get at least something
http://www.youmobile.org/blogs/entr...-1-Lollipop-Update-is-coming-by-Early-Q3-2015
Q3-Q4))
From another chart I've seen, the first batch of Samsung tab getting M will be the Tab A. Yes, not the new 4:3 "flagship" Tab S2, not the older flagships Tab S and TabPRO, not our PRO 8.4 which has a Qualcomm SoC and should be easier to maintain, but the lowly Tab A!
I wonder what had gotten into Samsung these days...

[WARNING: XDA Premium 4.0.13+ lacks Signature function - do not update]
I really don't understand them. It's much more easier have 10 devices and update them than have like 100 devices and TRY to update them. It's a shame!
I am not surprised with lack of Samsung devices selling. First Samsung is expensive, Second they just promises about updates and Third KNOX sux!
These is the main reasons to me to abandon Samsung!

They are giving us the new Touchwiz icons that look like they are the result of Touchwiz being raped and getting a back alley abortion. Nooooooooooo. I hope they at least include themes so that we can hide that mess. Then again, by the time this is actually released by Verizon, I assume a lot of us will have already moved on to non Samsung phones.
I think the biggest UI upgrade I can recall occuring on a Samsung device was maybe when the OG Note got Jellybean and looked fairly similar to the Note II and picked up some new features. Otherwise, Samsung has traditionally let as little as possible trickle down from their latest flagships to "last year's" model when doing updates---look at the Note 4 or the Note 3 Lollipop situation , for example. Neither phone was as smooth or as refined under Lollipop as it was under KitKat (I do not recall if the Note 3 was better under JB or KK). I certainly do not expect things like theme support or manual camera modes to ever trickle down to the Note 4. I'll just be glad to get its RF and battery performance back to where it was with KitKat.
I highly, highly doubt we ever see this.

His demo phone seems to be very laggy as hell with MM 6.0. Hopefully by the time we getting this it should be better.
It looks like it has a few things I might like. But the icons, dear lord are they bad. Way to iPhoneish for my liking.
The settings menu looks decent to me though.

Exactly why I hope they throw in themes. I hope somebody asks on the youtube page. He's been answering questions. (I tried to ask, but youtube won't let me sign in since I deleted G+ and my YT channel.)

Unpopular opinion: Android Go?

Hey people!
Since the S6 has quite a limited amount of RAM (for this decade!), would be it more useful to have an Android Go port instead of full-fat AOSP, or even Pixel ports?
I'm no developer and I don't even know much about Android Go so please explain/tell me why this hasn't been done. I'm sure a lot of people have thought of this before but there must be reasons that it's not come into existence, yet.
Thank you sooo much!

I don't really see a point as to why would anyone make an Android Go ROM for the Galaxy S6 Edge. The 7420 is still really capable enough to run modern versions of Android like A12 or A13 given the right optimisation and patches.
In addition to that, Android Go is just NikGapps Go on top of an AOSP build

I'm sorry but I didn't say anything about processing power though.
They should introduce a similar feature like RAM Plus on One UI for LineageOS Devices. With that, even the S6 would have no RAM issues in the upcoming years
Exynos 7420 in general is too strong, still going great these days. It just missing the right optimizations for AOSP roms, I bet it could handle A11 or A12 good. The current LOS 19.1 (A12) is currently in development, it still run ok, but because the HWC is broken so yeah.
