Icon/logo/idea maker - Galaxy S II General

Hi all on XDA
I have always liked to make digital pictures in Photoshop and so on. So I just wanted to say that if you want some icons or pictures for your ROM I will gladly help. I'm not a real pro but I can make real good stuff sometimes the only problem I have is that until the 16th of August I've not so much time. After that I think I've time, so if you want just PM me

As a graphic designer myself, may I put in some advice? Get a portfolio of your work going. If you don't have anything/want to try something new, start working on some projects for major ROMs, even if they won't be used. It allows people to see how you envision the brand and identity of that particular piece, and it showcases your talents and technique (obviously).
Perhaps start with the biggest, CyanogenMod? With codeworkx releasing the experimental build of CyanogenMod 10 for the Galaxy S II less than 24 hours ago, it's a great opportunity to start!

Thanks for your advice a really good one
That was a great idea with cyanogenmod 10, I'll do that and also upload some of my resent work, if I find it.
Thanks again for the reply

Big Thank you to all Contributors!

These devices right out of the box just don't seem ready for market. Whether its some draconian bootloader not letting one install the ROM he wants or tweaks and settings that arent right, out of the box they leave quite a bit to be desired.
But then i comes the people of this board. As i read through the extensive wiki and went through the process of flashing new ROMs on my Hermes I really came to appreaciate the MASSIVE amount of effort put in by this community in order to allow this PDA to really live up to its potential.
So thank you to all the contributors! I couldn't have even begun this process without your help.
i agreee with you
Me too. You folks are great!!!
ditto!
I would probably have sent this thing back were it not for sleuth255 and mikechannon and goestoeleven and others working on this forum.
fortunately htc has this free resource to fix their buggy phones.
i'm still eagerly awaiting the 8525 aku3.3 update. cingular had said it was due out by feb 1st, but here it isn't. maybe it will be soon. I still wake up with a locked up phone pretty often.
thanks to all of you that have helped make this feature rich thing useable.
wes
Thank you and I too like this community

I agree with all the accolades given. I looked on this board before I bought the phone so I was prepared for what it was not when it came. I had also downloaded all the goodies and was ready to make it the way I wanted it. But since then, more and more things were discovered and shared. Right now, this phone is almost just right. There are a couple of things I am waiting for the new ROM to resolve, but it is currently the best device I have had yet.
As soon as a better toy comes out, I will quickly jump ship and take that one, but only if it has the kind of support this forum gives.

Good move on putting yourself out there, but may I add something? If you're looking for work, paid or otherwise, don't limit yourself. By asking for only "ROMs or threads that are well known or have some decent amount of views/users", you're setting yourself up to fail. I can almost guarantee you that any large development project already has it's graphic taken care of. Instead, why not offer your services to smaller/less known devs? Not only is this good because a) you actually stand a chance of finding work, but also b) because, whether we like to admit it or not, we as people are shallow; we base things off the face value. We do judge books by their covers, both consciously and subconsciously. You can have the best ROM in all the lands, partnered with the fastest, smoothest kernel that delivers crazy battery life, but if you've got banners, etc. done up in MS Paint, you're guaranteed to instantly lose a tonne of potential users.
I can't tell you how many times I've left a thread thirty seconds after viewing it, because the banners, logos, text, and everything is simply downright hideous. If reflects, if you can't even bother to make your work look good, what does that say about your effort in your development? At the same time, I've tried a lot of different ROMs, kernels and apps simply based off their looks/screenshots/logos, etc..
Try to get over who you want to work for, and start thinking about who would accept your work.

[Q] Wacom Bamboo Paper APK for Galaxy S4?

Hi all,
So Wacom Bamboo Paper is my go to sketch notebook app on the iPad, but Wacom was mega stupid and limited their Bamboo Paper app to three Samsung devices (Note 1, Note 2, and S3)..there may be more, but that really isn't the point. The point is, it is not available on the S4.
This is more of a question about curiosity and learning. How would I go about getting the Wacom Bamboo APK and then creating a flashable version for my S4? Is this doable? What would be the steps involved in making something like this to work?
As an aside, if anyone wants to give it a shot, I would be willing to reward you for your hacking/dev skills via donation.
Thanks in advance-

Hi!
It's actually a great idea -and I'd love to see that as well! However, on XDA offering money as an incentive isn't really going to be well received. . .

Hmph...so what's the point of having donate buttons? Besides, I wasn't really offering money--just offering the *opportunity* for the *possibility* of donation.
You could download it with s3. Backup and restore on your s4.
Have you tried changing build.prop to s3 and downloading yet? You may also have to change dpi if app force closes.

Nextbit Baton offers several benefits to users, including:
Sync: Keeps apps and data in sync across multiple devices, allowing users to move fluidly from one device to the next without missing a beat.
Pass: Send any open app in its current state to another device, saving time and eliminating the tedious process of manually finding and opening apps on different devices.
Backup and restore: Save apps and data to your Nextbit profile in the cloud, so you can always get your apps back on any device.
Nextbit’s private beta is exclusively on CyanogenMod, the leading open-source, community-driven Android OS backed by Cyanogen Inc. The future public release of Nextbit will be available first on the commercially distributed Cyanogen operating system.
“Cyanogen continues to reimagine Android by introducing bold new firsts,” said Kirt McMaster, CEO of Cyanogen. “Nextbit represents one of these platform firsts that could only manifest on a truly open Android. We enable Baton to become a native OS level feature, creating huge benefit for our users.”

I was actually an Alpha tester (can come out and say that officially now). It really is awesome and rather useful.

They are giving us the new Touchwiz icons that look like they are the result of Touchwiz being raped and getting a back alley abortion. Nooooooooooo. I hope they at least include themes so that we can hide that mess. Then again, by the time this is actually released by Verizon, I assume a lot of us will have already moved on to non Samsung phones.
I think the biggest UI upgrade I can recall occuring on a Samsung device was maybe when the OG Note got Jellybean and looked fairly similar to the Note II and picked up some new features. Otherwise, Samsung has traditionally let as little as possible trickle down from their latest flagships to "last year's" model when doing updates---look at the Note 4 or the Note 3 Lollipop situation , for example. Neither phone was as smooth or as refined under Lollipop as it was under KitKat (I do not recall if the Note 3 was better under JB or KK). I certainly do not expect things like theme support or manual camera modes to ever trickle down to the Note 4. I'll just be glad to get its RF and battery performance back to where it was with KitKat.
I highly, highly doubt we ever see this.

His demo phone seems to be very laggy as hell with MM 6.0. Hopefully by the time we getting this it should be better.
It looks like it has a few things I might like. But the icons, dear lord are they bad. Way to iPhoneish for my liking.
The settings menu looks decent to me though.

Exactly why I hope they throw in themes. I hope somebody asks on the youtube page. He's been answering questions. (I tried to ask, but youtube won't let me sign in since I deleted G+ and my YT channel.)
