Hi i changed my board for one of another g2. This g2 leave to response the touch panel 1 week after to install the rom cloudy g2 2.2. This toch panel has little unstuck because some months ago it got wet in the corner, but never have problems. Since i installed the cludy rom started to gradual leave to response.
Now after to panel not work i decided to put the board in other lg g2 with working screen but bad board.
I have a dude. If i to flash again this board with the other screen, can to leave to response again?. Is problem generated for board or scrren?. Seems thar the original screen of board was be JID type, and now is LGDI..
Anyone have the same problem??
Thanks

Today, when I was switched on my Nike and tried to write my SIM cards password, I realised that touchscreen is not working. I tried to press various places of the screen but with no luck I made some reboots but again the same luck... so propably is not software problem. It's very difficult to use it only with it's keyboard and it looses its usability :S Is there anything I can do to fix it up???
Recently I came onto the same problem, at first the screen didn't work and then the screen just became black.
I opened up the phone and saw the flex cable had been scratched, so I bought a new one at ebay, replaced the old one, and wolah... worked like charm. Got my old phone back, installed a new 6.5.3 ROM and I'm LUVIN my "old" HTC.
Search for HTC TOUCH DUAL NEON 300 FLEX CABLE REPAIR LCD SCREEN US
I bought mine in Iceland, (Europe) but I think that all the flex cables are the same in all versions of the phone.
Thank you for your advice
Thank you for your advice,
I didn't manage to change the flex cable yet, because the touchscreen started to response again, but just for 3 hours... Now it does not response again. The screen now displays everything fine, but if I touch nothing happens. I can only use it by the keyboard. I heard that in most chases, scratched flex cable turns screen white or black, it doesn't affects the touch(screen). But I'll give it a go
I had cyanogen 7.0.3 (stable) with the theme Dark Ginger since it came out until about 6/17/11 .. I was using the phone texting and web a few minutes before the phone restarted by itself I took it out and saw the HTC screen and put it back in my pocket when I checked the phone back a few minutes later after I unlocked the phone by pressing the track pad the screen was black and I know the phone was on since the command buttons on the front of the phone was on .. So took out battery and reboot about 3/4 of the HTC screen was black and the remaining portion had random white lines running vertically when it got to the second splash it was completely black with a few gray lines and when the phone started up the only thing that was on was the lights on the buttons again .. There is no physical damage on the phone so I know the screen was not cracked and even though the whole screen was black I picked up a call by swiping my fingers across it a few times lol ... Just wanted to share my experience maybe you can't have a rom on your phone more than a month or 2? I guess you have to keep flashing new roms on the phone ... I got a new g2 in the end luckily
that does sound more like physical damage or a manufacturing fault. I would be very very surprised if a rom could do that to a phone

You kidding? The vast majority of smartphone owners stay on the stock ROM, and are on the same ROM for many months, maybe even years, aside from OTAs (and depending on your phone and carrier, the OTAs can be very infrequent).
I agree with above, what you've described sounds more like a hardware issue. Even if the phone was not damaged, things just go bad after a while. And screen failure is a known issue with this phone.
Its probably a manufactured fault .. When I had my g1 I used to flash new roms every other day or week I had it for 2 years without any problems .. the g2 is the first time I actually left the same rom on my phone for an extended period hence the thought that the rom was to blame was a possibilty since it looked like it got a virus or something when it crashed* so suddenly :/
It doesn't seem like something a ROM would do to your phone.. probably faulty connections to the screen or something..
I've had a nokia and a motorolla do that, one was dead the other was the connector. If it's under warranty, which I doubt since you've flashed it, send it back otherwise open it up and check the ribbon connector to the lcd screen isn't loose (based on how I fixed my moto). Failing that you could probably get a replacement screen off ebay (based on my nokia).
Thanks for all the responses I actually got an exchange for another g2 .. I appreciate all the hard work the devs put into their roms and the time they spent on them I just posted this topic to maybe solve the problem incase someone else is faced with it .. since I don't have the phone anymore I can't verify if it was the screen or some other mechanical problem
Hello to everyone,
Dear friends, two weeks ago, by mistake as normally, I've broke the digitizer from my G2. I tried to take out just the digitizer but without success. So I have ordered an new screen&digitizer&middle frame in one assembly all together. Alone I have them installed, witch was a pretty easy job.
When the complete assembly has commed on it it was written "D800" and not "D802" as I was expecting. I have asked to the delivery company and they said that is the same. But after installation everything works well but only the drop down menu is not working. Also sometimes the touch screen become unresponseble. Sometimes I have to press 3 or 4 times till it activates.
I have read over the internet and people says that the top touch screen connector from D800 should be bigger than D802. This I could not see. Both of them ware the same. During the changing process, with the right tools, nothing became broken or something like this.
I have made also an hard reset but after that my touch screen becommed more hardly to use it.
What solutions do you see?
Thanks in advance for your time and support.
Hello, thanks for reading, i bought a refurbished D800 and everything works ok except for the screen wich gets some blueish spots when i press it ( here is the thread i created about that: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/help/blueish-pixels-touch-screen-t3102299). The screen is pushed up (showed in this thread's attachments), i opened the device but im not sure if the battery is inflated or not (if it is i guess thats what got the screen glass pushed up). Also the device when its in my pocket mostly reboots itself sometimes over 5 times, it gets hot. What do you think?, thanks!.
PS: Im using BlissPop LP.
You have a defective battery!
Read my thread here!!! (halfway down the page)
Made replacing my LCD a nightmare.
Ended up buying a new battery from here.
Worth every penny.
Problems are gone and the phone is back to normal both physically and literally
Sorry to wake this tread up .
but you say you brought a D800,
But on what i see on the pics , you got a D801-D803 (T Mobile or a canadian G2) on the speaker module
be aware if you play with custom rom
Hi all, unluckely I had the dead zone problem with my G2 and I replace the digitizer with a new one but after a couple of weeks the same thing happen to the new one. I tried to play a bit with the connection but know I have no more touch on the screen. possible problem with the logic board any one got a solution for this or the G2 is lost forever. My main problem is, is it the logic board or the flex cable, by the way the flex cable was bought new also.
not to forget that everything else work.
thanks for any replied
Mike
