Att Update to n915aucu2boc7 today! - Note Edge General

I haven't seen any threads on this, and even did a Google search for ANYTHING on the Internet with the corresponding firmware, however att pushed an update Ota to my device today with the n915aucu2boc7 firmware. Has anyone else received this, it was 202mb, and it's STILL 5.0.1
Just letting people know it's available at least in the Charlotte area.

@jjohn9 share screenshot pls..

Just a small update.
This software update includes
Find My Mobile and Reactivation Lock enhancements
Android OS security enhancements
http://www.att.com/esupport/article.jsp?sid=KB426661&cv=820

i just checked updates on my atnt edge and its updating atm.
202mb download also.

Mine came through shortly after getting to work this morning. Just like the op, I too couldn't find any info on what it was. No noticeable difference per se. Screen transitions and the notification panel was a little buggy at first (nova launcher) but a battery pull seems to have fixed that.
I will say this though it definitely didn't fix the "heating" problem. I left mine open back and battery out for a few mins to let the device cool down.

Ok in my experience so far the batyery drain issue we have all been having and are all to familiar with was drastically improved on this version. You will notice your battery drain curve in your setting menu to be much much much more "smoothed" out rather than being a sharp straight down line like it used to be. I'm very thankful for that at least because this phone up until now should have had much better battery life. However I have noticed that is ahouldll well now!
So in conclusion I've had this update since yesterday morning at around 5 a.m. and it is a great improvement in lag, and power consumption.

Question is can it be rolled back to KK?
Especially how the force updates on you...never before had I seen where an update goes through without you accepting till this Note Edge

I updated and didnt see any improvements. Wonder if there ever will be an 'edge' store in the galaxy apps. Been like what 9 months and its still 'comming soon'. Ughh i feel like this device will be left in the dark

Thinking that this update is security responses to the new Android Hack?
I got it yesterday afternoon (Sunday)

Anyone else having partial wakelocks/worse battery life after JB OTA?

Just wanted to throw this out there and see if anyone happens to be getting a lot of partial wakelocks without screen on or if your overall battery life has decreased since installing the 4.1.1 OTA. When I first purchased the phone, I had very very few incidents under my battery info where I would have a session awake without the screen on. Post update, seems like I've got a ton of really small wakes with no screen activity. I have turned off Google Now and every GPS/Location setting I could find. Downloaded Better Battery Stats today so I'm going to see if I can get some better info on what's going on, new to the program though and I don't understand most of the info that it reads.
Prior to the update, letting my phone sit overnight I would maybe see a 3 or 4% drop over the course of say six or seven hours. Now I'm seeing a 3 to 4% drop in battery per hour, more if I'm actively using the phone. I'm going to do more testing, specifically overnight to see how it fairs. Just wanted to throw this out there and see if anyone else is experiencing any of these issues.

I am noticing the same thing. Don't know the cause. Keep sync off all day.

Im getting the fast dormancy symptom again... no matter what i tried I cant fix it... always connecting as HSPDA+ even if im not using......anyone got any ideas?
Hmm, might try a factory reset and not installing any apps at all and seeing how it fairs. By chance, do you guys have any of the stock bloatware apps disabled? Not rooted/Frozen, but just disabled via the apps menu? Wondering if perhaps disabling any of them might be a trigger.

Yea i'm getting that. I'm using 13% overnight now vs like 4% before. Not sure about the wakelocks though.
Some random things I've noticed are the blur widget resets itself alot. And the transition to the settings window on the left is laggy. How would one revert back to ICS? Google Now is not that worth it to me and the phone was smooth enough before. I'd take the battery life over the new features.
I did buy a second Razr M for my girlfriend that's still on ICS. I guess I can do a side by side compare this weekend.
I am loving the update.. only issue so far is fire fox crashing..no battery issues. Must be settings guys..

i don't think it is setting i have all my syncs to manual, and i have been noticing a lot worse battery life since the update i would have 18+ hours or so off charger with pretty heavy texting / game / some voice calls. Now i'm not getting close to that. I just disabled the fast dormancy service to see if that helps any, ill post back results
Just did a factory reset today, I'm not going to disable any of the bloatware this time, and I only installed BetterBatteryStats as well as updated all the default apps in the Play Store. Going to see if I get any wakelocks this time around.
Last night, after a period of 6 hours, I had over an hours worth of partial wakelocks from AlarmManager (subheading Phone).
-Matt :good:
I disabled Google Now and my phone used 7% battery over 6 and a half hours. A little bit better.
A factory reset (annoying as it is) helped me considerably. My phone was also seriously laggy before the reset...slow like my old DX on GB, much worse than factory ICS. It finally feels smooth now, like JB should.
Still seeing a lot more wakelocks than on ICS, but it doesn't seem to be draining the battery like it was before the reset. I also removed or disabled a couple of apps that seemed to be serious offenders (Accuweather was one).
Did a reset on mine as well and did not restore from Google backup. Still seeing wakelocks, but as someone noted earlier they don't seem to be draining the battery too much. With that said, the battery does still seem to tick down much faster than on ICS. One thing I did find that helped, although honestly it's not really a solution, is turning off data use when I'm out and about just answering texts and such. If I have data/wifi disabled, I'm getting closer to the battery life that ICS was giving, but then again who wants to go around having to toggle data on and off every time you want to look something up.

Is maps showing up on your battery stats and you're not using it? If so, simply open the application. It should say "updated to the latest version" or something like that. If this is happening, this will solve your battery problems.
Happened on my Galaxy Nexus and was happening initially for this phone too. Hope this helps someone.
Modem Fast Dormancy Monitor Service Not Responding.
Me and my wife both updated to KitKat on our Razr M's. I like it so far. The pop up about modem fast dormancy bothers both of use. When you look under battery, it uses more battery than other apps. I force stop it, reboot and it comes right back. A chat on Motorola web site sugested to wipe partition cache. The link that was provide gives the wrong instructions. KitKat using the power and volume keys has changed. They forgot to tell some people. That didn't work! I sent a long email to Motorola telling them that someone messed up or they did this for a reason! I guess if you get mad enough you'll just buy a newer phone. If that one thing is fixed, we would both be happy. The white background in text take some getting use to also. I hope Motorola will help us, but I kind of think Razr M's will be considered OLD! They are betting we will junk them for a new model.

Sorry! My bad. I didn't notice it was closed. Why do they not take old olds off line.

Should I update to the new system update?

I just got the phone and I got this notification. I'm not sure what the pros and cons are as far as battery life or screen colors. I remember reading someones display looked worse after the update. Advice?
so far so good same battery life for me.. the phone doesnt get so hot like use to is it me not pushing the phone too hard or the update!!!!
Go ahead and update, see no reason not to.
4.2.1 only fixed a few bug in 4.2, one of them is the famous Decemeber missing bug.
go for it.

EU ROM 1.60 Lollipop and battery performance

Just wanted to open a thread to see if anyone has optimized the fast drain of the battery with the 1.60 EU rom.
As for me I disabled G now and fixed as seen in other threads wifi on 2.4 ghz and limited connection to 3G (no LTE cause I do not need so big speed in downloading apps when I do not have wifi).
What I noticed is that with kitkat 4.4.3 the ink display was showing 4 days left , while after the update it shows 1 day and an half more or less.
It could be due to some apps I installed. Checked the percentage of use of each app and didn't notice anything strange.
As far as I understood the 1.99 RU rom has battery improvements, but I do not want to flash the phone cause it is always a risk(and I do not want to lose my warranty being the phone brand new).
Any hints on how to improve battery life?
BTW: today my yota apps have received updates through the playstore, so good! Hope to see a 1.99 EU or something similar too soon.
Cheers
Thanks for sharing. I too hope there will be update for EU version, I have never flashed a phone or rooted it.. except for flashing a Nokia 10 years ago that was easy.
I do have issue with erratic battery life on YP - sometimes is shows 5 days on Ink screen with YotaEnergy, sometimes even with YotaEnergy on it would drain in 16-20 hours, phone is hot like an iron. When I run CClearner or Battery Doctor to close apps, it cools down and things go good again for a while till I use the phone again. I checked there are no battery draining apps running, except I noticed Yota Apps Laucher consuming up to 14% battery at any point of time even with YotaEnergy on. I don't even have the Application tile enabled on the Ink display.
So is 1.60 ROM the last version for EU? It looks like I have no choice but go with the RU version if I want to get updates.
Anybody? Me too wondering what is experience from 1.99 regarding battery life...
Do you see any improvements over 1.60?
------
I checked.
According to forum here the battery life is mixed bag.
http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=550302&st=8200
seems the battery performs better and there should be other improvements. Anyway if you have EU rom, rumors are that an OTA is going to be released soon , so I would suggest to wait for that

SM-T715Y now receiving Marshmallow

So I just got the update notification on my 4G Tab S2 region code XID (Indonesia). F/W is on SamMobile as well, and would have installed it if my battery wasn't running low. Will report back soon!
so far it is exactly what I expected - GS7 software on a tablet. Great battery and none of the performance issues the first gen Tab S had when first receiving Lollipop.

Actually, battery life became worse on this update. I lose 1% of battery life in under 3 minutes without doing anything, my tab was just idle in the home screen.

But that didn't happen when I was still running Lollipop :/
I've noticed the battery drain too. It's not way worse, but it is slightly quicker at getting rid of charge. Has anyone noticed any other genuine changes? Apart from the lighter colour to the drop-down menu it seems basically identical.

Battery definitely drains faster in this update. It would take me 7-10mins for me to lose 1% of battery life in Lollipop. But now it would take me 3-5mins to lose 1% of battery life. I'm considering right now to go back to Lollipop to be honest, I can't stand this battery performance.
Other changes I've seen was the boot, it uses the S7 boot animation and there wasn't a boot startup sound.
Are many still waiting for the update?
Is everyone experiencing the rapid batter drain.
No update here.

Charging time estimate seems to be gone from notif dropdown (no charging notif at all) and lock screen (just says charging, no more x hours x minutes until full)
Marshmallow works fine. The battery issues were and will always be there for first few days till the firmware settles in.
One problem i faced was not audio output on one of my bose earphones. I still get the output on an older pair. The new ones work fine with every other device including a note 5. Just not this tab. Any suggestions to make it work ?
Are there many of you still without MM?
More than a week and still nothing.
Is it simple to install from Sam Mobile?
Getting frustrated with Samsung.

Hopefully the battery issues are just temporary just like what you said, I am getting tired of this battery drain. This never existed in Lollipop.
About your earphones, maybe the Tab doesn't recognize it?
I guess I'll wait. Lollipop is not so bad....

The main reason why I stayed on lollipop with my tab s2 and Glad i turned automatic updates off....I learned my lesson when I put marshmallow on my galaxy s6 edge plus and the battery life was terrible....
Is there adaptable storage on mm?

Not to my knowledge. Dont have a microSD in my tab to test.
Still waiting
I upgraded from nexus 7 to the T715Y galaxy tab s2 8". Solid device, battery performance less than optimal, software updates non existant. The nexus still gets monthly security patching and got the android 6 OTA update in short order. Now 18 July and despite indonesia, panama, phillipines and other neighbours in asia having this update, still no word from Samsung. Tried Kies, side sync and OTA update button mashing... nothing.
In fact Kies said there was an update, which i installed, wiping my tablet to get .. you guessed it, the same darn version i had. 5.0.2. Would recommend the tablet if not for the lack of security and software updates.
Still waiting in Australia
Edit: finally got it about a week ago

What about the new firmware (DQEF)?

Anyone try and test the new firmware: DQEF (with May security patch)?
Wonder any differences bring it in S7E like the battery drain, system and camera performance... and also for the bugs in Nougat.
My S7E is from France (XEF)
Using DQEF since about two weeks but don't notice much of a difference compared to DQD.
I hope to have battery life like the old Android 6 (APC, APD firmwares). If nothing changes, no neeed to uptade it.
Thanks for reply.

For me N is better than MM regarding battery life... however, I do not see any alternative to an upgrade as APD has security patch of April, 2016.
This update made my s7 edge go totally downhill. The phone couldnt last me even 21 hours and required charging it. The only improvement i got was the phone became very snappy. Reverted back to DQAF. How is it holding up for you?
