I have a profile that installs Kingroot on boot. BUT it requires AutoInput for it to work properly. Also, my profile is directed towards my internal SD card pointing it to file KingRoot-4.1.0.249.apk
Please feel free to tweak, share, improve..... etc etc...
IF This Device_Boot.prf.xml.zip file is useful, dont forget to hit the "THANKS Button"
Thanks a bunch IceTwig. I got it partially working, but it hangs at clicking to start root for me. I'll need to further investigate the autoinput plugin. There is definitely a learning curve, it's like learning tasker all over again. I'll follow up again when I make more progress on it.
But what about the Xposed install you mentioned in the other thread?

Add To Option #4 on the Task "Continue After Error"
dunno why I left that off. I was trying to make the profile work whether it was a new install or a re-install. A new install had the "NEXT" option because its listing the permissions and it wants you to scroll further.

Apologies, I wasn't clear enough......... Open Tasker, under this Profile > Root task, hit the "+" (plus sign) to add to the task, select "Plugin", select "Autoinput", pick "Action", click on the "Pencil" at the top right to edit, scroll down to "Advance" and follow the previous instructions. You can cancel this new added routine to the task after you clicked the "Unlock Screen"
Step by step instructions would be awesome....for people like me who are new to this proceedure. Thanks
Either my install is borked or my phone. There is no unlock screen option.

It took me more than several tries to get it to work, and if I had to do it again, it would probably take me the same, not because I don't know how to do it, but with reboots, hangs and phone not doing what I want it to. Hence why instead of instructions, I made the profile. Most of the instructions are already there, and Tasker is NO easy task to get around if you are not familiar with it. Hope that makes sense.

I got it to work. Apparently you need the beta version of autoinput.

I posted this in another SIP thread, but thought with the new update I should start a new thread totally.
I created an SIP select tool initially to overcome the difficulty to set default SIP each time my device soft-resets. On top of providing the command line capability to set the SIP (so that this command line shortcut can be put in the startup folder), I enhanced further so that I can control/switch SIP using hardware key. I have just updated the code so that the pop up menu will indicate the current selected SIP among the list of SIP installed in the device.
here's some screen shot.

Hi zenkinz,
Many thanks for creating this little utility. I have not seen the other thread you refer to, so can you advise some additional details here, e.g:
1. How do I create a command line option so that a specific input method is auto-set on soft-reset?
2. Will this also work on WM2000SE devices?
Thanks,
Peter.

No need to respond to Q1... I've just worked out that I need to copy one of the shortcuts over to the startup folder on my device. That works well.
If you can just let me know if this works on WM2003SE it would be great - this is for a colleague (I am on WM5).

Hi zenkinz,

Nice utility!
How about adding a function to rotate between all installed input method? Thanks.
It works after the phone is fully bootup.
But if either of the *.lnk is place in the \Windows\StartUp\ directory, it does not work during booting up.
Any idea how to make this work?
Does Sleuth255's solution works?
I place the *.exe file in the unlocked/unhide Extended Rom.

I'm using flipz 1.56 RUU and for some reason, when it tells me to connect the phone to the PC, it says it cannot be found. I usually use a MAC to connect my Hero and all sorts of stuff, and I just found a PC to be able to unroot. What seems to be the issue? I know the phone is connected because I can look at it's folders and such.

I'm having this EXACT same issue... But, if you can look at its folders, go into the notifications and set it to "charge only" and make sure USB debugging is enabled.
You need to install HTC Sync on the PC in order to use the RUU.

Grrr...oh well unrooting I stay
Am about to unroot so I can take my Hero in to sprint, I have dust under the screen. Anyone want to point out the best (easiest) way to unroot?
I seen a post where it could be done by just sdcard, would that or using the kitchen be the best way to go?
I am running a 2.1 ROM.
Thanks!

Method 1 is dead simple
Just 5 steps?? WoW
I looked for a little bit today at work and could not find anything this easy. LOL
Anyone tested this?
1. Download the following file: http://www.multiupload.com/Q3RMV5MTRF
2. place in /root of SD card
3. Reboot phone into HBoot mode, by holding Volume Down
4. Press action (the trackball) when prompted
5. Reboot phone
while i havent done it, so cant confirm, the unroot from sd does seem to be the most foolproof way to do it. all their going to look for is the correct recovery.img and stock feel, so it only makes sense
Cool, Thanks!! I am going to give this a try (15 mins before I run in to sprint) I am going to hate to go with about my custom rom and add the added stuff I get with root!

I phone reboots and when I try to go to HBoot so I can nandroid a backup I have I get this screen.

I discovered this as I was following someone else instructions that didn't quite work and then messing up my phone to where my "com.android.phone" was failing but I was able to find the way for it to so I do not take full credit for this at all and if this has been known I do apologize. This mod does require root explorer (or similar app) and you need to be rooted.
1a. open root explorer and go to system/etc/motorola/com.android.phone/defaults.xml
1b. Long old "open in text editor" change "" to true
2a. Back out to root of phone then data/data/com.android.phone/shared_prefs and repeat step "1b" on "_has_set_default_values.xml" and " Settings.xml"
2b. Make a copy of " com.android.phone_preferences.xml" within that same folder
2c. Open copy file in text editor and repeat step "1b"
2d. Change file name of copy to " com.android.phone_preferences.xml.bak"
3a. Reboot phone
Now when you go into settings>wireless & networks>mobile networks you will be able to select whether you want 2G, 3G, or automatic which selects 4G. If anyone has trouble or anything PM me and I'd be more than happy to walk you through.
Oh and this should work on froyo and GB
*********************************
Looks like this does open the ability to select 2G or 3G selecting either or does nothing. I will continue to look into these files to see if I can make this work
*********************************
I got this far but now Im stuck. The selection can be made but the actual band change isn't occurring. If anyone much have some insight let me know and I'll update the OP.

Since the power control widget is a built in app this tweak unfortunately does not affect it. And since my knowledge is nowhere near a devs I wouldn't be able to make a rom with a widget that supports this mod.

How do I know if I'm really on 2G?
Hi, I have already changed its. But when I reboot the phone. All file in data/data/com.android.phone/shared_prefs are return to the original.
Can you suggest to me for solve this?
Thanks,
Sorry guys I just edited my instructions. You need to edit the .bak file for "com.android.phone_preferences.xml" because the system auto resets to the .bak file for this one so you're tricking it into reseting into the modded file

I too struggled a lot to find how to enable this and i installed navalynt's πCRUST v0.3 rom couple of days ago which had this feature enabled, so maybe it has been mentioned somewhere. Anyway, thanks for sharing!
It works on atrix 2.
Does this has permanent effect?
Thanks
I am sure this is answered somewhere but it's hard to find. Apologies.
I am on JSS15Q, rooted, TWRP installed with no issues. I would like to permanently get rid of the upgrade nag message (I can temp get rid of it by accepting the upgrade and letting it fail).
I don't see any value in installing the upgrade.
Can you help ?
Thanks.
Get AutoRun Manager from the PlayStore.
Autorun manager - advanced mode, then in settings check 'show system entries' and then find Google services framework, and disable the one with 'system update receiver' in the name.

(a) It will not install because I am rooted and have TWRP (b) too many stories of people with no problems getting them after the update.
For a more major update I would do it but if it aint broke I aint fixing it.

Awesome, thanks! What other notifications is the 'Google Services Framework' responsible for? In other words, if I turn off its notifications, will I miss any other important notifications, besides the firmware update nag??
More easy way.

Cool, and thanks. Gonna give it a shot. I see two apps called "AutoRun Manager" though. This one and this one. Does it matter which one? Would either work?
EDIT TO ADD: I just tried the first one (as it matched your screenshot.) I went to Settings and enabled "Show system entries" as well as "Enable System app disable." Then when I went to the Google Services Framework and expanded it, I see that "com.google.android.gsf.update.SystemUpdateService&Receiver" was already disabled. I have never done this before and I'm on stock Android, KitKat 4.4.4, rooted via towelroot. So now I am wondering, does towelroot disable this by default, by any chance? Just wondering if I need to do anything further, and why this would be disabled for me already. Does it get enabled by some other mechanism, when an update is actually out?

Seems to me that would just prevent the notification, but the update would still be downloaded and waiting to install. Am I wrong about that? I want to block any system update entirely (until I am good and ready for it, until Lollipop is properly rooted, etc.) I don't want it to download, I don't want to be nagged about it, I don't want my Nexus 7 to know about it at all. I'm thinking danvee's solution is more in line with that than simply "blocking the notification."
OK, I just received this device:

I'm trying to match this unit with one of the threads here and it seems like no one is dealing with it, but I may have missed some relevant posts, can you please help me with that? Or maybe you know about other forums where they discuss the unit...
The device has several issues (bottom line: do not buy it, the hardware is okish but the software is horrible) and I'd really like to explore ways to customize it but I'm not even able to connect to it via adb, let alone become root or install a custom firmware...
Seem like no one heard of it. Bad luck.
I'm trying to gain root access and fix some of the bull***, but I'm running short of options.
What I know so far:
Invoking "su" from the command line (or via adb) returns a "not allowed" message;
I have no firmware to patch with magisk;
the amazing temp root does not work, the device is patched.
What else could I try?
I may try the MTK Droid Tools, but I think they use the same exploit used by the amazing temp root so I guess this is not a solution. Moreover they need Windows and I can't connect to the unit with adb in windows, only with Linux (heavens know why, the Universal ADB Drivers says it's all "ok" but adb does not see the device).
Did you get anywhere with it? I just got 825x_pro for my R56 Mini.
Nowhere. There seem to be some info in the 4pda.ru forum (in russian) but I did not dig deep into into.

Hi,
You have to go to:
- The settings
- "Car infotaiment" and click in the high right corner on the "cogwheel" and you get a little window where you have to type the numbers (example: 5678; 8888, ....etc ) And you get the hidden menu !
