SM-g920i CF-AutoRoot error and solution - Galaxy S6 General

Good day Everyone with a SM-g920i
Problem:
4/9/2015 CF-Auto-Root-zeroflte-zerofltedv-smg920i.zip has a defective tar file inside.
It ends up at the samsung boot screen and never passes this, temp fix is to use CF-Auto-Root-zeroflte-zerofltexx-smg920f.zip with tar file date of 11/4/2015 instead.
Solution:
To get out of this stuck screen use volume down + home + power and hold it unit the phone reboots into the boot loader, close 60 seconds for this to happen.
No fix yet for the useless touchwiz app screen that can not sort the apps alphabetically

Used 920f =worked fine

Ever since Day 1 when the G920I launched here in india, i've been using the G920T root... Been able to root all indian firmwares with it so far...AOD1, AOD9, AOE3, BOE3. I also had the same issue as the OP with the device getting stuck on the boot logo when trying to root with the G920I root.

I think I found where the problem comes in.
There is 2 versions as listed on Samsung open source code page.
Mine I bought in Panama City, Panama so it should be the 64gb of SM-G920I_LA
I presume the India version is the SM-G920I_SWA
Not sure what is the actual difference but if the cf auto root file is good then I there must be more than a name changes to commit this 2 version of the source code.
Strange that the T or F versions work, but battery life on the F version for me is horrible, and even worse on TWRP 2% power drain in 10-15 min in screen of standby with several apps to safe the battery.

Note 8 N5100 Downgrading 4.2.2 to 4.1.2

I Downgraded My 5100 from Stock 4.2.2 (OXA/DBT) Germany Back to 4.1.2 Stock (INU) INDIA. Which is perfectly being detected by Kies.
I stuck with 4.2.2 for about 9 days, but we couldn't reach a compromise.
So here are some of findings and (some info for new users like me on how to do that)
Findings:
1:S-pen accuracy is back bringing a big smile on my face.
2: Battery Drain: All is can say is just picked up the note after 2 hours idling and battery was down by merely 2% (this is with Wifi on and cell radio all the time, as well as news widget and things running. I am pretty certain with juice defender kinda app id be able to get it down bit further as compared to 4.2.2 eating much more like 2%/H or more just idling. It also seems to be better while using the note.
*************************************************************************************************************************************
Downgrading if you updated to OXA/DBT ROM and you are not from Germany or other supported Open europe Region.
*************************************************************************************************************************************
1. Get a Copy of the 4.1.2 Stock Rom for your device and country **Important Double check that you have the correct file.
2. *** BackUp your SD Card Data however way you can (if unrooted like me), I Lost some of my sketchbook pro stuff and some other because they don't store those in default locations and the HELIUM backup app did not back up those tif files.
3. Once you sure you ready, wipe the factory /data from settings or booting into recovery (might be necessary , but i did this nevertheless)
4. if you wiped the data, then start note and make sure USB debugging in enabled in developer options (enable them by the 7 tap method on the build label in about).
5.power off the tablet and boot into ODIN download mode (You should already know this, but anyways, Hold Power, Vol Down and Home button until android options appear , then hit up on volume to agree,
6. Launch Odin (3.07 or similar) on PC (as administrator) and then plug in the USB Cable
7. Some com port name should appear first box on top in some color (mine is com:6)
8: Make sure reboot and Reset f.time options are the ones only checked.
9: Click PDA button to load the .tar.md5 file you downloaded (You need to extract these from the Zip file you loaded (zip should have a tar.md5 file and another dll file)).
10. Wait for Odin it to verify the file.
11. Once Odin has Verified the File, you can hit the start button to start flashing. and once it completes (take few minutes) Reboot. the Note
12. If you seem to be stuck at samsung logo animation after reboot, don't panic (cause i did already), hold the power button until the device turns off, then boot it into recovery mode (hold home, volume up and power button and release once you see android logo)
13. use volume to select wipe / data factory reset and hit power button to confirm , confirm again. and it should say erasing and be ready for you in a minute or so. (btw Do not panic if it says applying Multi-CSC (DBT) instead of your region one)
14. Boot into the tablet and set up your settings config etc and you should now be running 4.1.2 again and it should have also changed the CSC which can be checked by dialing #*1234# and later you can check it kies as well.
Hope it helps others new to note 8 downgrading, if need ever be.

i read your topic after i downgrading my note because of the battery in 4.2.2 is very bad and the s-pen accuracy was incredible i hope sam will make the 4.3 more good
I am at 15h 20m 39s battery and still have a 58% Charge with 4.2.2
That's about the same if not better than 4.1.2 gave me. with Wifi, cellular and sync on,
I am however rooted and use Greenify and SetCPU.
I bet you have something is running that is preventing deep sleep. Possibly even a stock app. like that horrid Google Music app.

15 hours screen on or idle and what frequency you use in set cpu (do you undervoltaging ? )
How would I know which country FILE I need to download to downgrade to 4.1.2. Original BASEBAND was N5100UBBMC7, BUILD NUMBER was JZO54K.N5100UBBMC8. Google and Bing zero result searching these numbers.
don't get that why downgrade to 4.2.2, having move to SD feature alone is one reason I am excited about, of course my Note 8 is wifi, which 4.2.2 is not officially available yet. If you waiting for 4.3, good luck for that since we all know how sammy is way too slow releasing new firmware compare to others..

I just wanted the S-PEN to be accurate and increase battery usage. My GT-N5100 battery life lasted longer on 4.1.2. The last thing I want to do is brick my device flashing a different country code. Thanks.

You won't brick just by using a different country's firmware, the only risk is if you flash the wrong models, flagging a 5100 firmware on a 5120 for example, "may" give you problems.

Pretty much, what country is your Note from?
The only caution I would recommend you take is to back up your internal SD, I had to perform a reset after down grading, but I'm not sure if it was something to do with some of the root tweaks I had applied, that may have not wiped/loaded the modules correctly, causing the boot loops I had.
Either way I was forced to do it.

This may work as a last resort if OXA firmware has not yet overridden your csc (by DBT).
Reboot into recovery and once at the recovery screen: note the applying csc / multi CSC message. If you lucky it still should show your original firmware CSC code, find the corresponding country for that code and is should likely be your original firmware (do compare other parameters too though).

With all the help everyone's providing me, it should be cake walk in the park. I did your recommended procedure, boot into recovery, power button, vol up and home button. I think the country code got replaced with DBT.
#MANUAL MODE#
--Appling Multi-CSC...
Applied the CSC-Code: DBT
Successfully Applied Multi-CSC
I think the default country got overridden when I ODIN flashed the DBT 4.2.2.
I'll just have to wait till someone figure out how to align the S-PEN
again, thanks

downloaded 4.1.2 CHO, flashed via odin, soon as it went into Samsung Boot Loop, power button, vol up and home, wipe data/factory reset, phone rebooted, and deja vu, its in the same place when I first turned it on. No more S-PEN misalignment.
so.. worth it upgrade to 4.2.2 or stick with 4.1.2 since we have s-pen accuracy and battery drain?

My personal view, stick with 4.1.2 the battery drain is enough of a reason on its own to not upgrade.

I second your recommendation, if op insist on upgrading to 4.2.2, my suggestion would be to write down all info, Build Number, Baseband Version and CSC code, download the 4.1.2 firmware based on csc code and tuck it away somewhere in case he/she not happy with the misaligned s-pen.
my previous post explain how I got back to 4.1.2.
maybe its a better idea to just wait if 4.3 should come out.
yeah stick with 4.1.2, on 4.2.2, spen accuracy & android/obb folder is write protected lil bit annoying
im on 422... but not found a problem with spen.. it work normaly.. the best thing i can move almost all my games and apps on my external memory...

Just got my note 8 back from samsung after display and motherboard replacement and have just installed (4.2.2) officially released firmware for my region (INU). just for kicks for a few days to see if anything improved, otherwise back to 4.1.2.
I still see s-pen offset. it's a tiny offset and most people might not even notice that , but if you are into drawing stuff you'll notice that when the lines don't start from the point you want them to. basically that tiny circle you see when you bring spen close to screen, the pen tip seems to be aligned along on the outer edge instead of it's dead center.
One thing I have noticed in first 10-12 hours is that the standby battery consumption seems to have dropped significantly which is a good thing, Hope it stays like that.

I got my note SM-P605 at a Fortress in Macau. It was having the same strange issue as thecaptain42 in post 19 on this thread (random reboot issue). I've also posted about my issue here; albeit far less eloquently.
After factory-resetting and wiping cache, I used Odin 3.09 to flash P605ZSUCNE3_P605OZSCNE3_P605ZSUCNE1_HOME.tar.md5
Then, after booting up and signing into my Google account, the tablet proceeded to download and install [my] apps and updates from Google Play.
Suddenly, after a while, with many installations and updates successfully completed -but still in the download and install process, the screen turned black and the tablet has been deader than dead (as in solid brick -no response at all), ever since.
I never rooted or installed any system apps (not already included).
As for me, I'm not sure what to do next... But at least you've been warned.
clock and owner info are gone from lock screen
Hi All,
I have ported this KitKat Hongkong version on my SM-P605 Singapore version. Everything looks perfect, except the lock screen. There's no clock and owner information in lock screen. I've set them in Setting, but still they did not show up.
This is not a big problem actually, but I just wonder, anyone notice this issue before ?

Well... Up until you posted this message. I had not tried to hold the power button for a prolonged period of time. When I saw this message, I wanted to reply honestly, so I pressed it for a while and it turned on.
When the tablet completed its booting cycle it resumed downloading updates and software from my Google account. But after a few minutes of that, it crashed again. The screen turned bright blue, then the tablet shut down again.
Holding the power button for a while repeats the cycle.
Would you mind telling me why did you ask me what happens if I press the button for a long time?

I had the boot loop issue but it fixed after a while by itself and I thought it was a software issue! however, after I installed kitkat (for both NEE and Taiwan versions) no matter what I did I had this issue (like yours):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2772289
And it seems that no one else has this issue.
It still could be because I am using a rom from another region (since I am living in Germany) , but I have started to think that maybe there is a hardware problem.

For what it's worth, it seems we're not alone.
Perhaps we should start our own thread?
In any event, I'd like you to keep me (and perhaps others as well?) posted.
I'm running my tablet immaculately. No root, no custom ROM, no ROM from another region. Not even any system apps. Nothing.
But it still reboots at random intervals for no immediately apparent reason.
I've not yet figured out how to consistently induce the reboot, either.

I don't know the procedure for the particular shop where you purchased it, or how long you've had your device. I can't say whether taking it back to the shop for a refund or exchange is an option for you. Perhaps some of the German XDA users can chime on on this.
But, worst case scenario, you should take it to the nearest Samsung shop/center.

To get a returned tablet that's dysfunctional is simply terrible. Never-the-less, so long as you have your proof of purchase, Samsung should honor the warranty. I'm guessing they must be able to speak English.

Hey man, write me a private message so I do not forget it
I can write you the text in german for sparhandy where I can explain your problem.
You should claim the warranty first at sparhandy, normally they order the devices from samsung and then deliver it to you.

You should claim the warranty first at sparhandy, normally they order the devices from samsung and then deliver it to you.

Thanks a lot my friend! This is very nice of you.
One of my Deutsche friends did the call. Actually since we had difficulty to find contact number for Sparhandy we tried to contact Samsung (it was also mentioned in sparhandy website that you can also contact samsung directly). I will send my device to them on the next Tuesday.
Also regarding what I told earlier I am losing my trust to sparhandy and fear that they do something strange with my device. Hopefully Samsung will be honest and will do what they are supposed to do.

Android Beginner trying to have full Accessto SDCard
Hi All, hope I'm posting this is the right forum .Im quite a beginner in Android terms so please be patient with me ...
I have a Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 sm-p605 and use it while travelling , i dont have a computer with me most of the time so i rely on the tablet for most of what i do , yesterday i have updated to android 4.4.2 kitkat , whitout knowing i would loose full access to my 32 Gb SD card...well that made me quite furious as most people...so i decided try rooting it , after backing up all my files i used CF Auto Root (CF-Auto-Root-lt03lte-lt03ltexx-smp605.zip) , well that didnt quite work as i was getting
the boot loopwith the message RECOVERY IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING, after much reading i was able to recover the tablet to boot back , no rooting was done but im pretty sure i triggered knox and voided the warranty ....anyway i still want to try getting full access to my SD card, either by rooting it or any other way ,if there is a valid file explorer app without root i am keen to know, or if anyone can show me the way to root this device I will really appreciate.Device Details:

What's the matter with Kitkat 4.4.2 and SD cards? I use a 64GB one. Could this be the reason I keep boot-looping?

[Q] Samsung y5360 keeps rebooting (boot loop)

My Samsung s5360 stopped working all of a sudden.
I switched on my mobile and typed in the SIM code, I turned on wifi, visited the Google store, had a look at a game and suddenly the screen went black. I thought it's the screensaver that kicked in and clicked the power on button, but from there on it kept rebooting till the "Samsung s5360 young" screen.
I read that these are the symptoms of bricking your device, but I never rooted it nor tried installing a custom ROM. I still have the original Samsung one on it.
I found a website that explains how to simply reset the cache when soft-bricking the mobile, but that didn't help. Do I really have to reinstall the original ROM and lose everything on my mobile? How can such spontaneous bricking happen anyway?

You can restore your phone, you will have to flash odin firmware package. But yes,you will lose your phone data i.e. SMS,call log, contacts, bookmarks etc.To prevent this, you should keep a timely backup of all your stuff.Goodluck
Is there any way to save content from this bricked phone before resetting it? I only used it as a secondary mobile to use a few apps and I think I saved them all to the SD card when installing them, but just in case I forgot some apps or other content...
maybe power button need replacement

When I at least managed to boot into the options screen and wipe the cache without success?
probleme of the power button
i had this problem befor but a fixed the power button is not work properly
you need to fix it
Guys, if I keep pressing the power button+up+home or power+down, I can get into the reset-menu and Odin mode without the mobile switching off by itself. So stop it, the power button is not broken.
Anyway, I found a stock ROM for my country. I flashed my mobile using Odin3. As soon as it was done, I saw some blue text on my mobile and it reset immediately, but right afterwards the boot loop restarted. I flashed it again for about three times and I still get the boot loop.
Alright, could flash my mobile after an odyssey of downloading hundreds of wrong or faulty ROM archives from dubious sources, unpacking them with Odinatrix which didn't help, going through the hassle of installing Cygwin and searching for Info-Zip, load the single files into Odin3 and finally, finally having my mobile boot up to the home screen.
No, my power button is still not broken.

why are you searching around various sites for stock roms when they are all on my firmware thread already split with splitfus2 ready for flashing with odin - they are all wipe packs too so they will automatically format system and data to avoid bootloops
My firmware thread as ever is at the top of the dev section or links in my signature

Because what you state here is not true. The Swiss stock ROM is not listed in your thread.

its classed as European - you will find that the baseband across all Europe stock roms are the same and the firmware - the only thing that could be different is the csc however I post open csc which means it will work on any device as they are not locked to a certain provider unless stated - eg the teltra Australian one
If you see my which firmware do I need thread you would see that any firmware that starts XX is classed as European
If you require a certain region you need the csc of that region the csc included does not meet your needs
I also have a splitfus2 guide for leaning how to split the firmware yourself from sammobile if you require any firmware which isn't listed on my thread

SM-G928W8 Canadian(BOUGHT FROM WIND MOBILE) Stock Firmware Needed

Hello,
My story is pretty much the same as other people here. 2 weeks ago I rooted my S6 edge + and everything was fine, the device was working I downloaded lots of apps that needed special root permission done a lot of ad blocking---- Long story short the root was successful with ODIN and everything was working fine, I didn't mess around with other parts of the OS tho. So today I was checking my snap chat when all the sudden my phone started lagging, it does that every once a while, it used to happen on my note 3 too its just Samsung bug. Anyways it was lagging so I decided to press the restart button, I put the phone on my desk and continued to finish my work on my laptop about half an hour later I checked my phone for snap chats, but i realised that it didn't turn back on. I held the power button and this came up on top left corner.
KERNEL IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING (this one showed up before every time I booted after my root)
CUSTOM BINARY BLOCKED BY FRP LOCK (this one was new tho, I never seen it before)
Which means Im F***** because Im on a bootloop, and my battery could die anytime...
So I've done a little researching and I came up with the conclusion that I can use ODIN to put Official stock firmware back on my phone, but as I think everyone knows. I don't think there is Official stock firmware for G928W8. Which is weird, its the only firmware left out by who ever creates or extracts official firmware off Samsung phones. I also tried using smart switch but the device is apparently is not supported, although ODIN recognises it. I tried re rooting, on my phone it said Custom Binary(BOOT) blocked y FRP Lock. So basically I paid $1,150.00 and my phone bricked itself after 2 weeks. No stock firmware for G928W8, and no luck with Smart Switch. I don't have any other phone to use while an original stock firmware gets released by XDA. I looked pretty much everywhere there is no G928W8 Stock Firmware. So any ideas I really need to make some calls?
Thanks,
Artin P

GS7 ODIN flash/restarting phone issue; a "successfull" "fail"

I have a Sprint G930P Galaxy S7.
It has an intermittent restarting issue. I am trying to narrow it down from hardware vs software.
When i'm in download mode (odin) or Recovery mode it stays on and I left it on these screens for maybe 10+ mins and never restarts.
When I load into the OS, its random....but normally its within 30 - 60 seconds it restarts.
So i'm pretty sure I was on PG1, I tried to flash PF2 to try rule out software issues.
Well, here whats interesting, ODIN completely finished and PASSed and automatically restarted like normal. When the OS fully booted up and loaded, it was the same, nothing deleted, or reset and no initial startup dialog.
Obviously SOMETHING went wrong. My baseband/software and build version are different. My base and software shows PG1 and build versions shows PF2
Right now I have been sitting here letting music play on the phone to see if it will restart. 4 mins in and it hasn't restarted. I guess i'm going to try and download a game and do a "stress-test"
So has anyone ever seen ODIN fully pass/flash....but didn't actually or partially flashed the firmware?
Nevermind.......Nobody probably cares about the solution so i'll spare the expense.
Got it off eBay, Sent it in for a under warranty repair, free. Profit.
