Hello,
What is the best way to back up "Private Mode" pictures? (Apart from the obvious which is moving them back to the SD card!!

By default photos are saved in main memory. Is there anyway to set up the wizard to save photos in a mem. card folder?
Thank you
Basic :
Start camera
Click the Settings/Tools icon
Click Tools
Select Options...
open the General tab
Save to: *tadaaaa*
... i tried this
... but: i can only save to "main memory" or "extrom". Save to "storage card" does not appear.
... but: storage card appears on explorer and can be read...
:x
Why?
If extended rom is visible, try hiding it again.

Hi,
I recently installed an app that made my phone go into SAFE MODE -- So I uninstalled the app and realized messaging was gone. So I did the Clear Storage function and started from sctratch.
Oh -- I am using the Dopod ROM with GPS
Now once I started steeing my phone back up again, I noticed my "Memory Card was Locked" message when I directed the email attachments to be stored there. ALSO when I look at the Storage card memory in the SYSTEM/DEVICE INFORMATION screen -- it shows that my old stuff is still on there. But File explorer cannot read them.
ANY SUGGESTIONS?
Thanks in Advance!

When you do a "clear storage" it resets your device, but it doesn't erase your external storage card. The best policy is to take out your storage card, save the important files on your PC, then reformat it. Do your "clear storage" hard reset without the card in the device. This way you are sure that you are starting fresh without any old problems hanging around. You can then copy back to your card any important files, but not old messages...this is asking for trouble.
Thanks Matterhorn. I wound up purchasing a card reader and reformating the card. It took a while but I got everything up and running.
Sorry if this has been covered, but I couldn't find it anywhere.
A recent policy push from my work to encrypt my phone failed and I ended up having to reset my phone.
I've got everything back up and running. Encrypted. Rooted. Xposed. and with the XSecureStorage module I got Private Mode working again. But it doesn't recognize the previously hidden files.
Is there any way to recover these files? Or even just delete them from the SD card?
Thanks!
I found this post and i have the same problem. Viewing the private folder in windows shows 8.22 GB available of 11.5GB, but there is no file on there . Can i restore the previously lost data or even just format that partition for getting free space again?
Hello, I had a verizon samsung galaxy s5 and I had some files and pictures hidden in the private mode. I switched carriers and got the galaxy s5 for sprint and did a reset for my Verizon device because I sold it but before I did the reset I moved all the files inside the device to the SD Card. So now is there a way I can get those files and pictures that were hidden in the private mode?
P.S. I completely forgot that I had some stuff in the private mode so the private mode wasn't on when I did the rest or when I copied all the phone files to the SD Card.
Please someone help me with this.
Thanks,
My wife was babysitting years ago, and the little girl see was watch played with the phone and locked it and it a factory reset. I had her photos at the time saved to the internal SD card. I suspect it was encrypted at the time? But I'm not sure or how to tell.
The phone is stock and there is no root currently. Is it possible to recover the photos? If so how would I go about recovering?
I do not know the answer to your question of how to recover personal data files when the INTERNAL sdcard storage is factory wiped.
However I do know I have personally used Windows 10 Recuva freeware to recover thousands of photos from a "Quick Format" of EXTERNAL sdcards.
Maybe..... just maybe.... maybe you'll be lucky and you can connect that phone by USB to WIndows 10 and maybe (if you're lucky) Recuva can recover the internal sdcard storage?
I don't know if it will work but if you test it, let the rest of us know what results you get.
You could perform photo recovery by utilizing data recovery software. MobiKin Doctor for Android is a great rool for that. It can recovers photos from SD cards.
Sorry to hear that. And sorry for the delayed reply. Usually, we don't need to root the phone to recover deleted photos from internal SD card. First, we need to stop using it in case of data overwritten. Then find a SD card recovery program to help us get them back, such as EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard, Recuva, Coolmuster Lab.Fone for Android --SD Card Recovery mode, etc. Just have a try, and hope this will be your help.
