Hey folks!! i've got into a big problem............
i might sound crazy while saying my problem.......:silly:
ummm...... so i started playing Miscrits, an FB game, on Puffin browser in my zenfone 6 just in front of the Air Conditioner blower. THE CAMERA PART WAS FACING THE THE AC BLOWER AND NOT THE SPEAKER PART Then i took it home and used whatsapp. the moment i started it, the screen was flickering and it switched off, with the rear of it becoming a THERMONUCLEAR BAttlefield!!!!! too hot!!!! ok,so the phone switched off while the battery was 21%....... so the battery stats file was corrupt...
then i let it cool down. and then i charged it to 100 percent. Voila! now the speaker hs gone crazy....... the bass sounds can't be heard; its like i'm using an old radio. And when i use the BACK key, HOME key, and RECENT APPS key, some other tak-tak sound comes other than the normal sound of the key. ANd when i play some music, a buzzing sound is there, ruining my experience:crying::crying:. and the heating goes boom boom!!! unbelievably hot even when I use FB Messenger!! plz help me guys!!! is this some software failure after supercooling and superheating or hardware failure? dont say hardware!! my daddy will kill me

Its probably the hardware. But dont tell your dad yet and try this if its possible.
Try opening the back of your phone and look at the battery if there are any changes like, it became slightly big. If this is the case try buying a new battery if not, its your HARDWARE. And also, your underlined statement really has no effect on the phone. The heating of your phone is the one that caused your device to malfunction.
Hope your daddy does not kill you.

:crying::crying::crying: looks like the phone has to go the repair shop. but according to my explanation( 100% accurate), how is it possible that the speaker went crazy? Doesn't it seem illogical???

Maybe, but the thing here is that your phone heated that much and probably caused the silver little things in your phone to melt making the other wires removed from their default base and going to another after being cooled off. Thats why.
Hope your phone is still alive.
P.S. Take extra care when handling your phone. Just a reminder.

Did you change the device name to "skynet"?
lmao.. that sounds strange!
This isn't strange at all. I'm working with many capacitive screens and whenever you have a lot of interferences (static charges, ground), the screen treats them as inputs. The bigger the screen, the more sensitive it becomes.
One solution is to reduce the sensor threshold, but for the Leo, you may not be able to configure the sensor...

It's gonna be +1,000,000 at least for anyone who comes up with an app to do that!

Does the iPhone allow you to do this?
count me in and I can actually make the screen go "crazy"
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=584867
when can we expect a new rom from htc, maybe it will solve the issues
I think your device is broken, i have had the same problem and i swapt my device for another one and now i don't have the problem anymore.
So if it happens often you should go back to the shop you've bought it.
It's happened once to me (in Opera) in several days of quite intensive use (love this phone ).
Having the same problem with my device. For no apparent reason, it would have a mind of its own and constantly trigger parts near the centre of the screen, it got quite freaky when it kept hitting 2 for me when I was dialling a number.
Will be popping into store to get it changed tomorrow (if they have stock).
same here, screen sensitivity is way too high. Hope a fix comes out for this
Had my phone exchanged today, new one running smoothly!

[!] This phone needs a stronger Heat sink!

This is an amazing device. However, I figured out why the soft keys at the bottom are breaking! (By breaking I mean when you touch them, the light goes off and goes into a key lock disabling the menu key and the back key)
This phone most likely has a heat sink sitting on the bottom left corner of the device. When this phone is in a high temperature state (either lots of constant usage or a hot room) the heat sink begins to overheat causing the heat sensitive soft keys to think it's being held down.
Edit: (That or the GPU is sitting in the bottom left corner because i noticed when I run an emulator, it freezes the buttons really quickly. Especially if you get a text message in the middle of it)
therefore this is a HARDWARE error. Samsung, please fix this. Don't let this amazing device go down the ****ter. Either add a stronger heat sink, or like most laptops now-a-day, install a vent for the air to leave the phone.
Temporary fix?
Shut phone off for like 5 minutes, and place it in a cooler area.
Specs:
Stock Samsung Galaxy Firmware. Straight from the bell store. (I had to do a few wipes to exclude outside variables)
Phones these days are going to need a fan built in because they're getting too powerful.
I haven't made a forum search because I didn't want to get lazy and post this if I didn't find one.
TLDR: Hardware issue causing overheating.
I don't think the keys use heat. (Maybe it's a bug with the Bell variant). It's a capacitive touchscreen, so most likely uses electric current. How do you know the keys are heat sensitive?
it only stops working when its warm.
i use my phone constantly and i have never had this issue. actually, i have had two, as i returned the first one after two weeks for one that has the 3 button recovery enabled. not only have i never had this issue, but i have never come across any mention of it in any of the forums i frequent.
When I bought my phone, I was able to use both vol up+ home + Power, and the vol down + home + power, so I don't think I have the non recovery model.
I don't think mine has this problem or i haven't suffered from it yet anyway. Today the phone got really really hot, i was in an online multiplayer game whilst it was charging. I was aware the phone was becoming quite hot but i needed to carry on gaming lol anyway, for the first time i got a system message stating that 'battery charging had been paused due to excessive heat' so this shows the phone was hot. Well this finally got me off my game and i used the back key to exit without any troubles at all. You don't mention getting this error so does that mean mine was at a higher temperature?
I agree with andrewluecke about the keys being responsive to 'electric' and wonder if maybe you had sweaty/moist fingers whilst trying your keys, it does mention in the manual about irrational behaviour due to moisture.
I have a Bell phone and never once had this issue. I would take your phone back.

make that two
the OP definitely have a defective unit
maybe some one dropped it when it was being demo-ed or something like that
else it doesn't make sense why those buttons would be at those horrible conditions

Well, I agree. I have the unlocked I9000 phone, and have never experienced this issue...
You probably have an intermittent fault caused by dodgy joints within the phone.
Get it repaired..
Nothing that could warm up is at the bottom http://www.careace.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/galaxy-s-disassembly-10.jpg (right)
Only the vibrator and the microphone
exactly, the stuff that warms up are the GPS and Wifi and those are at the top where the USB plug is
Yeah it's probably to do with a dodgy contact rather than heat, plus the touch buttons at the bottom are just an extension of the screen and so are capacitive, not heat activated.
Logicalstep
+1 for "never had issue"
You see that your buttons lock up when it gets warm and you automatically assume it getting warm locks up the buttons?
Ever thought that something in your phone was overloading and causing it to heat up at the same time causing the hardware keys to lock up?

And thats the increasing problem with XDA (and the internet in general).. It's becoming easier and easier for people to make ridiculous assumptions without proper proof. It's one reason why we should always question everything we see, if there isn't a reliable source, or proper testing.

[Q] Wifi Touch of Death

Hi Guys,
So I just picked up my DHD yesterday and I've just encountered a major (I think so) problem with it.
Everytime I hold the phone in my left hand (i'm a righty) my wifi cuts out.
After a bit more investigation I found I could replicate this problem consistently by with just one finger, touching the battery cover just below the + sign.
Do I have a faulty set with poor shielding or are all sets like that??
I've tried to make a (poor quality) video of my problem but I cant link to it here!
Apologies in advance if this issue has already been addressed!
Doesn't seem to do it with mine, is it worth checking the battery is secure?
Same problem, I think it's normal.
Have you still taken a look at the User Guide (at the bottom at page 13 on english user guide!)?
There is described that bluetooth and wifi-antenna are placed under the battery cover. So it's not wondering, that wifi signal-strength decreases if you put your hand on it!
I think it's not a special problem of the DHD!
There's also a youtube-video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L2SB5rQTMyY&feature=related
This was a video I took of mine:
I dont even need to cover the entire batter door, just a finger is enough! And to make things worse, its in a nearly-impossible-to-avoid position.
Could it be that the battery door on my phone is not properly shielded?? I have yet to hear of a phone that lost WIFI reception just because u held it wrong
Anyone else getting this problem??

I'd never noticed it until now, but mine does the same. I don't find it a problem because I have a gel cover on mine to protect it, and this gives enough spacing between my hand and the phone for it not to cause any signal drop-off.

Just had to comment since this whole forum is getting out of control.
People complaining about "non-problems"
Speaker phone volume is too low - cant sit in my truck and listening to music
(Never had a phone were I could do this)
Screen angle is bad - Cant flip the phone upside down and read what's on the screen
(What!!! Is that really true!!)
Bad build quality - there is a 0.1 mm gap at the sim cover
(Way the hell are you looking at that side of the phone for?)
and so on....
I can tell you I don't have this problem.
Would never hold my phone in such retarded way!

Virbation sounds weird

Hello
This morning I had an issue with my Android clK build and I had to pull out the battery. Unfortunately, I bought one of these flipping case that holds the phone pretty tight so I had to force to take it out and I suppose I pushed a little to hard.
Since then my vibration sounds weird. Like an electric shaver...it has a higher pitch.
It's a stupid reason to send it back as it does work but I was wondering if it already happended to one of you.
Any solution to revert to the way it was ?
googling the following words "xda hd2 vibrate weird" gives the following FIRST result:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=15240424
see my post there (post #3)!
(its a somewhat common problem, caused by the camera flash cover pressing against the vibrator motor just underneath it)
I've had many hd2s in my hand, I hate that vibration, it literally feels like the screen is shaking rather than the phone. Its definitely a hardware issue and I don't recommend trying to repair it yourself as self repair has been known to cause further issues

Screen weirdly split in two

Hello guys !!
So I just discovered my screen doesn't work well anymore. Nothing is broken and my phone didn't fall or anything, but now when I scroll my screen it's split in the middle of the screen.
For example when I scroll down my screen the right part follow my finger, but the left part is a bit late. There is a time lag everytime. I can see this disconnection when I'm watching videos too and that's really annoying. Also sometimes my screen goes black for few seconds and comes back to normal.
I tried to turn off and on my phone but it didn't change anything, restart it either. I'm not really good with technology so that were the only manipulations I tried. I don't know why my screen is like that. The only thing I can think is that the day before my phone turned off by it self because there was no more battery.
Please can you tell me if something like this happens to you, and if yes what did you do to fix it ? Or if anyone has a solution for me, I would be really grateful.
Thank you in advance.

Did you install any weird apps lately?
Just do a factory reset, that'll probably fix it. You can back everything up from the settings anyways

Hey ! Thanks for your answer.
No I didn't install any apps at all lately. I did factory reset and it didn't fix the problem
But it's a bit better, it seems the screen doesn't go black anymore, but there is still the disconnection in the middle. Especially when I'm looking at videos or when I want to make picture.
I don't know what can be the problem
Try to squeeze the phone with your index finger and thumb, a half an inch besides the spot between the volume switch and power switch. There is an internal screen connector there that can get a bit loose

Thanks for your answer Waancho ! I tried your solution but it didn't work either. But now I think I might know why my screen is like that. One night I fell asleep listening music on my phone and when I woke up it was totally discharged. I could urn it off, I had to charge it a bit first. When I turned it on the screen was split and the left part of the screen was higher than the right part. I know it isn't good to let the battery discharged completely.... ?
Do you think the battery is damaged ? If yes, is there a way to fix it ?

the battery has nothing to do with it. the display connector gets loose and does this all the time. Fortunately it never happened to me but i've seen more than 10 people with this problem
here's a couple pics for ya, the best solution is to take it apart and secure it but if you never did it then just push upon the screen, where my finger is pointing, about half or 1 cm from the side
