My VPN I've used required a phone lock screen. Try enabling a swipe code or pin and doing the VPN.

Nope.. I didnt set up any VPN connections or anything else...
This is the translation in english:
Disabled by administrator, encryption policy, or credential storage.
So you either installed an app that forces this, you encryped your device, a setting you set on or something similair.
It can be multiple things.
Hiya. I have tried using the CF app to region unlock it and also tying the code to get the UMTS menu up but both hasn't worked.
I have now got it rooted but would like to know the process to get the sim lock removed.
I have been doing some searching but have yet to find anything.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

Yes, that is what I told you in this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=53890911
Use (2) to check for the locking status. Can you show this screenshot?
Use (3) or (4) to unlock. You need a code to unlock it.
Please read the link above carefully.

Many thanks for the message:
When I do (2),
a window comes up which says:
Personalizaiob Status
Network Lock
Network Subset Lock
SP Lock
CP Lock
but I can't touch any of them to get into a further menu or see its status!
Can you advise?

Also, in the service menu:
Step-8: Tap [1]UMTS
Step-9: Tap [1]Debug Screen
Step-10: Tap [8]Phone Control
Step-11: Tap [6]Network Lock
Step-12: Tap Options and then tap [3] Perso SHA256 OFF
Step-13: Press Menu and Back
Step-14: Press [6]COMMON
Step-15: Tap [4]NW Lock NV Data INITIALLIZ
I can only get to "Step 12" but there was no option [3] Perso SHA256 OFF....
Why is that?
it is on android 4.4.2, is this the reason why? Is there a way to downgrade to 4.3?
Thanks

Where did you get this 15-step instruction?
May be it is for another device or model? My Note 3 is also the same as your.
And please be noted that playing around with these "hidden menu" is very dangerous as it may mess up your device, so be careful and only do things that you fully understand.
I want to change my lock screen type to pattern but I cant click it! It says: "Disabled by administrator, encryption policy, or credential storage."
Help!
Looks like there's an app that has upped the security level. Check under Settings --> General --> Security --> Device Administrators. It should only list KNOX and Android Device Manager (if you enabled that).
In your another thread u said u encrypt your phone right? If you read encryption rule u will not ask such a question over here, once u encrypt u have only one option to lock your phone.

Anyone knows what is the deal with the options in the "lock screen and security" settings in nougat?
My S7 edge has the options for secure folder and secure startup.
I see other phones have the option to "encrypt device".
Please see the attached images.
Why is this happening and how can I get the option to "encrypt" my device?
Thanx.

Your device is already encrypted, hence no option. Encrypt option only appears on rooted devices which have encryption removed.

Thank you my friend. That makes sense.
