Here is the Unbrick_Xt907.zip https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0Bz7RkJUhg5ghTEdUaE1WRlFXZTg&usp=sharing
You just have to be rooted and have adb debug on click on the backup.bat file and it should generate a backup.

Summary Milestone 2

I decided to kick off a summary topic. Right now there's been quite some (development) action regarding our beloved Motorola Milestone 2.
My goal with this thread is to summarize as much information as possible, in a clear way. Everybody is of course allowed to help make this topic as useful as possible.
Please do not use this thread for troubleshooting or discussing your problem!
For simple questions & troubleshooting we have a stickied topic: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1057291

It requires you to be rooted. After every reboot you need to do step 5 of his guide.

Using the internal memory as a virtual SDCard
flibbulator tried using a part of the internal memory as a virtual SDCard, since his real SDCard broke. He wrote a little guide and requested some help with it.
To use this mod, you need a rooted device! You can enter the commands in a Terminal Emulator or via ADB Shell. It should be noted that the Virtual SDCard can only be mounted as a folder of your real SDCard. So you do need a working SDCard to make it work.
His thread, including the guide can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=948887
Note that you need Busybox installed to enable this feature.
Note that Step 5 has a small error; The correct commands to execute are:
Code:
$ su
# dd if=/dev/zero of=/data/[COLOR="DarkOrange"]sdcard[/COLOR].img bs=1024 count=[COLOR="DarkOrange"]2000000[/COLOR]
# busybox mkfs.vfat /data/[COLOR="DarkOrange"]sdcard[/COLOR].img
# mount -o loop -t vfat /data/[COLOR="DarkOrange"]sdcard[/COLOR].img /sdcard/[COLOR="DarkOrange"]storage[/COLOR]
You can substitute the orange values with your own.

Available Custom ROMs for Milestone 2
Right now there are two cooked ROMs available. One is based on Froyo and one on Gingerbread. Note that the Gingerbread version might be unstable and (partially) non-functional. But please, do help the developer to make this ROM a great one!

For new users!!

This is a humble requests on behalf of all the noobies!!
I request the seniors in this forum to post a thread on how to root, install recovery and other preliminary stuff. One thread that contains all the trivial info on flashing new roms would be very convenient.
Please explain it step by step for the new users. By doing so you can encourage more and more users to download and use the custom roms.

It is critically important that you specify your exact model. "Ideos X5 U8800" applies to three or four different devices. I turned one U8800-51 into a paperweight by not appreciating the differences.

Just so you know. CWM is not foolproof. I had one device that CWM was unable to rescue from the CWM recovery boot.

While we are at it, new users should know that there are multiple versions of the Ideos X5 U8800. These include, but are not limited to:
U8800
U8800pro
U8800-51
There may be others. All MODs are model specific!
The exact model number is obtained through settings -> About phone. Please include the model number in all posts.

OK obviously, you have some reading to do. Read Zephyrots guide in the general section.
BTW, 4.4 is KitKat and it's in development. I suggest installing CM10.2 or below.

Okay so today im going to do some confusing things...

Hi! Newbie here... I've got some questions to ask. Here it is. (Please do excuse my grammar)
As of now I am downloading the latest firmware of my phone 5.0.2 (SMG530 HXCU Grand Prime). Here's the thing, my phone is already rooted, i am afraid of updating it while it was rooted. Will my phone get bricked by doing this? Any tips to avoid bricking my phone? Also i've got this Titanium backup with my important apps back up'd, so now I need to restore it after the update. How?
Also mind if you can teach me how to do tricks with CM?
Please help. Thank you!
Edit: Idk if this is the appropriate place to post this thing.

Hello,
Thanks for using XDA Assist.
Your thread is being moved to Galaxy Grand Prime Q&A,Help and troubleshooting
You cannot flash OTA updates if you're rooted. But if you have the full firmware, you can always use Odin to flash it on to your device.
If you want to restore using Titanium Backup, you'll have to root the device after the update.
What did you mean by CM tricks?
