Hi! Newbie here... I've got some questions to ask. Here it is. (Please do excuse my grammar)
As of now I am downloading the latest firmware of my phone 5.0.2 (SMG530 HXCU Grand Prime). Here's the thing, my phone is already rooted, i am afraid of updating it while it was rooted. Will my phone get bricked by doing this? Any tips to avoid bricking my phone? Also i've got this Titanium backup with my important apps back up'd, so now I need to restore it after the update. How?
Also mind if you can teach me how to do tricks with CM?
Please help. Thank you!

Your thread is being moved to Galaxy Grand Prime Q&A,Help and troubleshooting
You cannot flash OTA updates if you're rooted.But if you have the full firmware,you can always use Odin to flash it on to your device.
If you want to restore using Titanium Backup,you'll have to root the device after the update.

Please, your thread is not at all related to android development. Each ROM has a dedicated thread, with specific instructions. Please take out the time to read them. No one is here to spoon feed you!

Hey all, just recently picked up a used MT4G. Before I do anything to it, I'd like to start from scratch and just reinstall the most recent stock software, make sure anything the previous owner did is cleaned up.
I have no experience with Android and would love if someone could point me in the right direction, perhaps with some directions.

Sounds good to me...where do I start?
The best bet is to do a factory reset. If you haven't done so yet then go to settings then SD and phone storage. Then select Factory data reset.

I was able to get a lot of help from some great people last night. Phone is now rooted, kernel'd and ROM'd!

Care to share your results and where you got your root info? I am looking to get the phone in Jan when I can upgrade and I am trying to learn all I can about rooting and ROMs.

i recently bought a samsung apollo i5800, after that update its rom to 2.2 via kies, then root it with superone click v2.11, now i want to install custom rom and lots of things which i dont know also , or what i can do with this pls give me some links from where i can get help to do a lot of things with device although its not a good device as i read from its users comments.
help me guys pls

Hey come on, dont go by what others say, its a good device. Just look at the support it gets here in xda.

Hi, I just got my A5 yesterday and managed to root it. Now just want to ask if there is a list of apps that you guys recommend on removing/freezing. I'll try to debloat my A5 as much as possible since I don't want to flash for the mean time. Btw I'm still on 4.4.4. Hope you can help me fellow xda members. Thanks
check google about how to remove system app or freeze it
I know how to do this but is there a list of the systems apps/bloats for our devices that is safe to delete/freeze. Thanks

Did you try that list/script for the S series? I've got a A3 in the post and want to clean it when it arrives.
