[Q] Soft Bricked LG G2 T-Mobile D801 - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Well last week I rooted my T-Mobile LG G2 D801 with stump root. It was my first phone I rooted and I downloaded freedom, SuperSU, and Xprivacy (with the framework). last night, I turned off freecore on freedom (not sure why) and when my phone was rebooting it would come to the flashing T-mobile screen, play through a couple of times, go black, and then repeat. I can turn it off, but I need to hold the power button down while it shuts off, turns on, and then shuts off again. I have tried going into recovery mode and download mode, but only recovery mode works. I have been trying to access download mode by turning it off, holding the volume up button while plugging in the phone, but it only goes to the charging screen after displaying the LG logo despite me holding the volume up button. Though whilst attempting to get into download mode I believe I was holding down the power button while in the charging screen and I think I heard the T-mobile startup music start to play. I know I'm an idiot for not installing TWRP, though I didn't research the topic of rooting extensively enough before doing so.

Help

I clicked 'install' to update to kitkat from Verizon, and forgot to backup something so I turned it off using the power button. Now, my phone won't come on. I press the power and the LG logo comes up, then goes to black and suppose it turns off. I've tried the factory reset (power and volume) but it doesn't work either.
Am I screwed?

Can Verizen and talk to their Tier 2 support for troubleshooting. they may have some suggestion on hot to get it done.
I haven't called them yet. When I try to boot it up to recovery the screen only stays on for 3 seconds then goes to black or phone turns off. It's like the battery is fried. It worked fine and was charged 80% when I did the update thing.. and I've left it plugged it for 3 hours with no fix.
Download the 4.4.2 KitKat KDZ and flash it using the LG updater tool. That will put everything back and working. You lose all your data but its gone now anyway.

Help - AT&T stock won't boot past LG sceeen or charge

I've done some searching, but couldn't find much....
last night I was using the play store at 50-something percent battery when it locked up and the screen timed out/went blank. I figured no big deal- it's done this a couple of times since the LP ota. I held down the power button to turn it off and I got nothing.
I tried a few more times and nothing. When I plug it in i don't get the charging screen and the led doesn't light up. I took the back cover off and reseated the battery but that didn't help.
I can't get to download mode, but can intermittently get to the factory reset screen. Sometimes when I hit the power button I get the lg screen, and sometimes it will make it to the AT&T screen and then go blank.
I was going to try the factory reset, but wanted to check here first for other ideas.
Stock d800 , lp , never rooted
You really do need DL mode to return to stock because the LG tool won't recognize a phone at the factory reset screen.

The above relates to not having DL or a recovery, so you can try it out (needs Linux for a step).

[Q] S4 in Bootloop after Lollipop Update

Dont know if any one is facing the same problem.
Installed Lollipop in my S4 over the air, 2 weeks ago.
A week back, my phone entered into BootLoop mode. Phone gets re-started. I can see Samsung logo and it gets restarted again. I tried removing the battery and kept it back. Started working fine then.
Since today after noon, my S4 is in complete boot loop. Tried removing the battery and kept it back. Yet it is in bootloop.
Unable to enter into Developer options also. Please help
I hit the Power Button against a Flat Surface. It Vibrates and shows the Samsung Logo. But then it turns off.
Is the battery empty maybe?
My guess is that your power button is faulty. Either try to wiggle it lose or replace it. It's really cheap
If it reboots in download mode and/or your recovery then it's your power button.

Please Help! LG G2 Won't Boot Up

I had rooted my dad's lg g2( D802) and installed twrp using an app named autorec as it was recommended by many people in the internet and had very high ratings and downloads in the play store. Everything was fine for a few weeks till I noticed that the app had an update. So I flashed twrp again from the app hoping it was a newer version and it said it completed the operation successfully. Then I just used the phone for sometime and after that I switched off the phone to enter the recovery. After it switched off, I pressed the button combination for entering the recovery but nothing came up. Then I attempted to just boot the phone and kept pressing the power button but nothing came up. I even kept pressing the button for upto a minute to hard reboot it in case it was just a case of hanging but nothing came up.After that, I plugged it in for charging and attempted to boot again. After I kept pressing the power button for about 30 seconds while charging, the led blinked red 8 times, paused and repeated itself as long as I kept holding the power button.
The problem is that it even the screen doesn't turn on.
I searched for this issue and saw that many others were facing this issue. I tried the following solutions given by them which did not work:
1) Holding the power button for a long time
2) Keeping it for charging until it's full but nothing comes up and the phone got heated up very much untill I stopped it a few hours later.
3) Removing the back cover and detaching the battery power cable from the phone after after waiting for sometime, reattaching it.
My dad showed it to the lg repair centre but they told him they need to replace the whole board which is very expensive, especially considering that it is a 2+ year old phone. My dad is very angry at me and probably won't let me touch his phones ever again if I don't fix this. Please help me.
Thanks in Advance
Edit: the charge was at 45% when I switched it off. Don't think it is because of low battery
With the phone pluggged into your computer, does the computer recognize the phone? And if yes, what does Device Manager report it as being?

more info... what variant? phone does not boot.. can you press vol up then plug phone .. does download mode works... stay calmed this can be fixed..:fingers-crossed:
I haven't tried plugging it to the computer. The way to enter download mode is holding the volume up button right? Thank you for the suggestion. I'm away for a few days but I'll tell my dad to do so. I'll post what happens then. Variant is D802
OK I told him to do that. When he pressed the volume up button and then plugged it to his computer, 13 new partitions showed up in windows, and it is telling him that he needs to format the positions to use it. But nothing is coming up on the phone
Do NOT let Windows format the partitions(!)
Use the SRKTool instead to unbrick from qhsusb_bulk mode:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/development/tools-srk-tool-useful-toos-lg-root-twrp-t3079076
Afterwards use LG Flash Tool 2014 to flash the KDZ for your variant:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476
It's better to let the battery charge to full first. Shut down the phone by holding PWR button for 10 seconds, then plug charger. It should work even in bulk mode.
Did you try these simple things...
shutdown phone keeping powerbutton down.
Start pressing power button & vol down....when you see LG logo for couple seconds. Release fingers and press vol UP and vol DOWN, same time. No power button.

But the problem is, even the screen doesn't turn on while on download mode. I'll surely try out the unbrick tool but will it work since normally, the download mode screen comes up. That thing is 760mb. I think it'll take some time for it to finish. (Ultra slow internet connection )

The lg logo doesn't come up when I do that. If fact, even the screen does not turn on
Thank you guys! Srk tools worked! Again thank you very much

Can't get LG G3 into download mode

I have a Verizon LG G3 someone gave me. The back light goes off after a second. I can factory reset it and it stays on for a significant amount of time and then it goes off again. I can somewhat get around using a flashlight on the screen. It might be a hardware issue but I am trying to reflash it. I am following the guides, with the phone off, I hold volume UP and then connect the USB. It just shows the battery charging 100% screen. I installed the LG drivers. I'm not sure what's wrong.
